She is a very nice teacher but sometimes it is difficult to understand her lectures. The cool thing is that she is helpful and her tests are easy. We don't have regular assignments just 3 lecture test and 3 Lab test. EASy if you study lectures and pay attention in lab......

I love this prof. She was very helpful but very difficult to understand. be sure to print out all powerpoints and you can use those to study along w/ study guide. Labs were the hard part. She gives extra credit at the end. I would recommend her. :)

Prof. Kirsten is an awesome prof. I took the alternative bio for non science majors and she was really helpful to everyone. Fantastic teacher. She gives you a great review before lecture exams and lab exams. All of the notes come from blackboard, and the test comes straight from the notes! Labs are a little more difficult, so show up for labs.

Great prof. Provides GOOD reviews, and ppt notes are available on bb (as well as shortened notes). She is deaf, but I did not find this to be a problem at all. If you have any questions, she will help you. Highly recommend this professor, she's amazing!

Don't have to attend class, but its VERY helpful when you do. Very helpful when you have a question. I suggest to take her for BIO. And you do have to study a lot if you want to pass the class. Test are not like the review, thats why you have to study really hard and listen in class. 3 labs and 4 test. Book not required, does lectures on PowerPoint

Excellent instructor. I took the course over the summer and it was pretty intense. The exams weren't difficult. Lab exams were straight forward. Her disability did not hinder her ability to teach or understand her students.

Great professor! Her lectures are always interesting and funny so you will have no problem understanding what she's talking about. Also, she gives reviews before the lectures that are super convenient when studying. Lecture exams are straight from the notes, and lab exams can be tough, but manageable. Just make sure you study. If I would have studied harder for the first two exams, I would definitely have gotten an A instead of a B. Take her!

Wonderful prof! Didn't require the textbook so I didn't use it and got an A. This is a science major class so def. need to study, but she makes it SO incredibly interesting you won't want to miss a class! Gives 2 bonus questions on her exams that aren't in notes (mostly about polar bears bc she loves them). Lab also has 2 bonus Q's. TAKE HER. :)

This teacher is deaf so prepare yourself to adjust to her teaching style, she uses powerpts, which are very convient & drops lowest lecture Exam, Labs prepare to get spelling correct or you get 1/2 only labs are fill in the blank no word bank, the lady is very funny in an ignorant way she cusses alot. she gives u a review but doesnt give u answers.

Ms. Taylor is Awesome! She's hilarious and such an interesting teacher! She goes over the lecture outlines and highlights the stuff you'll need to know for the test. We use the lab book a lot so you'll need that. As long as you study a lot her class should be good.

One of the best teachers at San Jac. Has online outlines that you must print, and she pretty much tells you what to highlight in lecture which makes it easier to listen to her teach because you don't have to be distracted writing. Funny and interesting lectures.I LOVED HER! take her don't even think about it!!!!:)

She gives great handouts for the lectures that are all you need to study for the Exams. I easily made an A because she made it so easy to study! Her lectures were also very entertaining and labs were fun and easy. Pay attention in class and print out and follow along with the handouts and you'll do great.

I took this class for my medical school pre reqs. She's by far the best at structuring the course work. She does a great job at aggregating the content, emphasizes on the important things for examslabs. Go to class every day, follow class notes, and study A. Labs are departmental, practice x 2 A. I would take her again. A great professor!!

what can i say about Ms. Taylor? she is a great proffesor, you can tell she enjoys what she does! she gives alot of bonus question on labs and lectures, you get extra points for not missing lab. She gives outlines of her lec., you are able to pay attention to what is being taught and not miss anything because you are busy writing notes. I was working on my accounting degree so I didn't put much attention to BIOL and that is why I made a C. I made a D in BIOL 1 with another Prof., so I will gladly take her for BIOL 1.

She does not require a textbook. You print out the lectures for each class and highlight the important stuff. The highlighted stuff is what is on each test so STUDY.

I took professor Taylor for Bio 1308 for non-major in a summer mini. It was a difficult course because of the amount of material. You don't need a book, she works off lecture notes that you can print out. Anything that will be on the test she will have you highlight on your notes. She's funny and loves polar. She made biology interesting! As a non-science student, I was worried about taking the class for science majors, but she was awesome. Great lectures, clear grading and test materials. A lot of memorization, but even in this five week class, you could keep up with effort and make a good grade.

Bonus questions on lecture exam will be about polar bears so make sure to take note of it.

Very funny professor she will make you laugh. For lab make sure you participate in the lab and she gives u a review for each lab everything u need to know is on the review.

I was nervous to take this class because even the thought of biology scared me. She made it so doable. All you have to do is print out the lecture outline and highlight what is on the power point and that is what you study for the test. I ended up making a 100 on the final exam and an A in the class. If I can make an A in this class so can you. (;

The lectures you can skip if you have a friend send you the notes/outlines. I would not recommend skipping lab. (The lectures are super cool and she breaks down the information so you can understand it better than the outlines). She lets you know exactly what will be on the test you just have to study for it. Over all super awesome!

Professor Taylor made her Biology lectures very interesting and easy to follow with the analogies she ues to better explain information. If you come to class, takes the notes, and apply that to the exams, you will past. Really enjoyed her!

I took this professor for bio NON-science majors and I loved this class. She's very caring about what she teaches and she puts everything up at the beginning of the semester of what you need during lab & lecture. You just need to print them out but other than that she explains the material really we'll and lots of activities to do with each lesson.

Prof. Taylor is the best! Definitely take care! I was scared to take this class because Science is not my favorite subject. She gives you the EXACT notes for the test! There is always extra credit. There will be 4 Lecture Exams (drops lowest grade), 3 Lab exams, 1 case study which is simple, and Final.

I enjoyed taking professor Russ, she's was a wonderful professor. Her lectures and materials are a lot to memorize, but if you study, read every night, and perhaps study with a group, then you'll do pretty well in this class. I wouldn't recommend skipping a day in the lab class. Just try your very best and don't slack off!

Professor Russ is AMAZING at explaining each chapter and highlights what will be on the test in her PowerPoints , its really important to study the material outside of class & do the practice tests on each chapter until you know the material. Her tests are very similar to the study guides and practice quizzes. But, her lab tests are opened ended.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. Take this class!!!! She does not give out a lot of homework. She makes lectures very interesting. The chapter practice quizzes she has are awesome, she teaches everything that is on the exams.

I took her for bio 1301 for non science majors. She is one of the best professors that Ive had so far. Shes says funny things and makes her lectures interesting to pay attention to. The material itself is pretty difficult for me at least. She has study guides which are time consuming but are very helpful. I would highly recommend her.

I always failed as I couldn't understand the material and what was being taught, but Prof. Russ is amazing! I have a difficult time seeing in one eye, so she will take out time in lab testing to draw what the question is. She gives you the materials needed for tests, but you still need to put in the work and study. I will DEF be taking her again.

Prof.Russ is one of the professors that I will not forget, will always ask the class if they understand or not to go over it again. She made her class fun and something to look forward to. This profesor was great. But what I do recommend to pass with an A+ is to write down every highlighted red part because that what she exactly puts on the tests. Professor Russ made this course so easy. When you email with questions, please answer very quickly. Each chapter has a heavy homework assignment, but Quizlet and Google help with the load on hw, quiz & tests. Short 10-question quiz per chapter. Tests are every four chapters with about 50 questions. One group project .

Professor Russ is amazing! Her online class is really efficient, probably the most efficient online class I've ever taken and it was with a lab. Everything is done on McGraw-Hill connect which is super easy The only thing annoying is the Smartbook lessons but they give you the answer and quizlet basically has everything. Shes super responsive!

Professor answered emails promptly. Homework has a lot of questions and is time-consuming, but 100 on all. Each chapter has an easy 10-question quiz. Test (4) is 50 questions and a final exam (100) is timed. Completed this course in 8 weeks with a A+. A group project. Take this professor you won't regret it one bit.

I loved Professor Russ! Her lectures were very heavy but she always made sure to explain them well. Studying for exams is really important. I kind of went lazy towards the end hence my grade. Will be taking her again for bio 2!

I took a summer online anytime class with her and at first, you will feel overwhelmed but after the first week, YOU WILL BE OKAY. She does have a lot of stuff due every week but it is not hard you just need to make the time to do your homework.

If you take the honors course, be aware that you'll need to collect "service-learning hours" outside of class-- you can speak to her privately about various opportunities if your schedule is tight.

The best science teacher I have ever had throughout my academic career since science has never been easy. My class was on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the lecture & lab was about 3 hrs long, she showed you what is important on her slides by being purple, do the quizzes since they aren't graded, great sense of humor too! Will take again!!

Amazing professor, sparked a love of biology in me. tests were not necessarily easy but as long as you did the review she provides (which is extremely helpful) you'll do amazing, I made the mistake of not using it on the first exam and got a C but on every other exam I got A+. I don't like anything science related but being in her class changed my mind. I had her for an honors course so we had to do volunteer work and it was amazing! I really did think about switching majors TILL I took chem and it was so difficult to understand. Her class is easy her test was kind of hard to me but just pay attention and you'll be fine.
