awesome teacher. really knows her stuff and always willing to help. grade is based only on tests. part of the test is a take home and other part is multiple choice. Tests are NOT EASY! lots of studying is required.

She is a hard teacher, not ridiculously hard though. She will tell you what she expects and then you need to memorize it. Biology courses aren't that easy, she is a good teacher, ease isn't always the most important thing. I would recommend her as a professor, get to know her and let her help you.

She is a good instructor. She does admit that this class is a test of your dedication. Her test are extremely difficult but she is fair. If you study TONS you will pass. Don't plan on placing on the Dean's list though.

holy cow! this class is SO HARD! Yes, she is a great instructor. But, I did right by dropping it before the 1st test and saved myself big bucks. No way I would have passed! Now this is my 2nd time around. my advice-get vocab down (and maybe read the book?)before the semester starts so you don't have mental overload. She is good tho'.

She is awesome! She explains everything really well, and if you don't understand it, she takes the time to personally help you. She's also fun and keeps it interesting. You have to study hard though. She tests from her lectures and from the textbook. I was much smarter after that class, but I did have to apply myself.

I loved her! She does reviews so you know whats on the tests. you have to study a lot, but she prepares you for the harder classes to come. I suggest reading your chapters and reviewing her lecture notes! That helped me tons. She is awesome though and makes the class entertaining, loved it!

Great teacher who knows her stuff. Her tests are reasonable and shes gives extra credit opportunites throughout the semester. Tests are part take home part in class. Not as hard as everyone says on their comments. You just need to study. Go to the optional review class to get the A.

Kristen is a biology genius! She is a incredibly organized, smart and dedicated to making sure her students know their stuff. It is NOT impossible to get an A, I had over 100%. She only seems a little bit more difficult because she is University quality and people want to sail by at SLCC. Welcome to the real world-it's hard work. She's awesome!

She is an incredibly hard teacher. Knows her stuff, and and prides herself that her class average is 50%. Very entertaining in her lectures, but comments that she writes her tests when she is feeling vendictive. Poor soul. I would recommend getting another teacher to save yourself a head ache. Kristen is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. She keeps the class fun by using real world examples and fun analogies. She is a very difficult teacher but I learned so much! She is very dedicated and will help you as much as you need.

KT was awesome! Her passion to teach and share her knowledge is apparent from the first class. She quotes herself as being a hard test giver, and she's right - but if you attend class, read text and ask questions to things you don't know you'll do fine. Her lectures were fun and interactive. She used real life examples when possible. I'd recommend!

She has powerpoints and lecture notes you can print off. She gives lots of great examples that relate it to life that is understandable. You do have to study but this is college afterall right!!! I got an A but I studied A LOT!! Part of your test grade is a take home test and if you will approach her and ask for help she will help you. She gives you all the material on power point. Whoever said she has no business teaching is wrong. She has a ton of knowledge on the subject. She is very smart and is willing to help in office hours. She lets you attend what ever section you want which allows for flexibility. She texts hard and isnt as clear as I would like on what is going to be on the test and what isnt. She is entertaining.

She only has a nasty attitude with students who don't put forth any effort. If you are interested in the subject and want to learn, she is very knowledgeable. If you just want to get an easy A, she's not for you -- she actually holds her students to some standards. Imagine that!!

Kristin was one of the hardest teachers I've had..but be made you learn. She knows Physiology. Her tests are HARD!! But Phys is hard! She cares. Why students don't get to know their teachers is beyond me...that is half the battle! I'm so glad I passed this class, but she is fair and she helped me pass.

I had Kristen for 1610 and 2420. She is by far the best teacher I have ever had. She is so passionate about what she teacher, and really makes it interesting for the students who go to class. Took Conservation Biol class online from Kristen. Class went far better than I expected. Her assignments aren't hard, you just have to turn them in on time. Fair grader though. Lots of XC. Tests were very doable. Allowed a sheet of notes for tests in our class. Shes a nice person and easy to work with. I'm not into Biol, but I would recommend her.

i loved her! she's tough but brilliant. she definitely knows what she's talking about. This is a tough class though, you have to put 110% into it if you want to pass. You definitely need to do a lot of outside studying yourself. I loved Kristen, one of the best and smartest people i know!

I took Biol1610 and it was a hard course science isn't easy but Kristen is very smart and wants you to succeed. She doesn't assign work your grade is based off of exams and your lab so a lot is put on you to study. Overall she understands the material is hard and will give you opportunities to make up points and learn the material.

She really not only cares about the topic, she cares about her students. She learns everyones' names and a little about them and genuinely works hard to make sure everyone understands. Which is actually my only complaint, sometimes she spent too much time helping one or two people understand something rather than moving along for the rest.

Good class. Kristen will tell you with fairly decent accuracy what she will test on and what she's just throwing out for illustrative purposes in lecture. There's no joke it's a tough class, but that's independent of Kristen as an instructor. She makes the material as entertaining as possible and understands what she's talking about.

This class is very interesting, particularly in the conservation aspects. There is some "intro to Biology" work as well. Kristen is very passionate which makes it easier to keep interest and she is very interactive. As long as everything is on time, it's easy to get a good grade.

I needed this class for the credit. Kristen was pretty straightforward. She doesn't take late work, so you miss it and you're out of luck. However she does offer a lot of extra credit late in the semester. There is about an assignment a week, though it's pretty lightweight. Overall I can't complain, I got out of this class what I put into it.

This was a great class and Kristen Taylor is a great teacher! There was reading, slideshows, three discussion assignments, a handful of writing assignments (not long ones), and quizzestests. I learned a lot and it wasn't too hard or too easy. The only way you couldn't like her or her class is if you support corporate environmental destruction.

Loved Kristen. It's a TOUGH class, don't get me wrong (especially since I hadn't taken anatomy first), but Kristen makes it fun. I worked my butt off for that A and took every chance at extra credit, which saved me. Kristen was super delightful to work with, and I'm excited to get her help presenting my extra credit at the symposium this semester.

Expects a lot, but gives the resources to do well. Clear and great lectures so class is fun and worth it. I would never dream of missing a lecture though. She is hard, but she teaches you what you need to know to continue in bio related fields which is worth it.

But will help you on her test if you do them. Not an easy A. she tests on the concepts. so there is no mesmerize and regurgitate. She is great to work with.

She really make the class interesting and she clearly knows her stuff. Going to class is a must if you want a good grade. Physiology is a complicated subject no matter who you take the class from. She is always willing to go over things you don't understand or just chat with you about things that come up in the class that you find interesting.

I really enjoyed taking this class from Kristen. Yes, the subject matter was difficult but she presented it in a way that made it interesting and understandable. Professor Taylor uses a unique approach to testing. she encourages you to challenge test questions with information from credible sources and sound reasoning. this makes for A TON of reading, but it pays off when you get credit for questions you may have missed the first time around. also, she likes in depth answers to written questions.

She is a real gem of a teacher. She is caring, funny, and makes sure you understand the material and what is expected. She really prepares you for future classes in biology or the health field. You will have to study, but this class is still one of the best classes I have ever taken. Kristen is understanding and explains things very well. :)

I took Bio 1610 three times from 3 different professors and finally passed with Kristen's help. She teaches using concepts. You know-how one thing relates to another thing. This was the reason I passed. She uses visual aids along with concepts, but if conceptual learning isn't your style, don't take her course.

Overall, Professor Taylor is quick to communicate over emails & genuinely wants students to succeed if they are trying. My gripe is organization of the canvas pages that had occasional typos. Physiology is HARD test question types include all that apply, multiple, choice, matching & complete the statement. You MUST attend class live for quiz codes!

I took this class as a virtual lecture. She considers this class to be a flipped course so you spend your time outside of class learning and then use the lectures to ask questions and work through problems. She's very in depth about the course material and teaches it in a fun way! If you put the work in you'll do great in this class.

Kristen is a great professor. The zoom broadcasts were hard as I found it distracting when some people used it as a social hour, interrupting the professor with casual conversation. Kristen's tests were challenging, I did very well on the first test but on the tests preceding I struggled, given that I studied less. Overall Kristen was encouraging.

I took Berryman but I occasionally joined Kristen's broadcast and she was bitterly the best! I wish I had taken her instead of Berryman at some points but they're both AMAZING! I really enjoyed this class but it was so hard. It was hard to understand her expectations/style. It's flipped classroom. If you don't learn everything on your own and come to class with a strong base for her to expand on, you will be incredibly lost. She's super funny and smart. This is the toughest class I've ever taken, and Kristen is the best professor. Utilize ALL resources (class pages BEFORE class, participate in class, office hours, repeat quizzes until you get full points, re-watch recorded lectures). She cares about her students and really wants them to learn. If you're willing to work hard, you can do well here!
