I expected this class to be really hard, but it was bad at all. She takes a lot of time to explain the notes and work through problems. She takes questions in class and makes sure they are fully answered before moving on. I also had her for recitation and she was great. If you can take her, do it. It will make this class so much easier.

She is an AMAZING professor; the BEST Chemistry professor I've ever had!!!! She makes the class SO EASY, but you still learn a lot! It is an easy "A", but not one of those easy A's where you don't learn anything. It is an easy A that you have to do only a little bit of work for. Again, she is an OUTSTANDING TEACHER. As a bonus, she's kinda hot. :D

Amazing professor! Very helpful and a fair grader. Her power points follow the book, so there's no need to read. She also allowed us to use the extra credit questions from our online homework as points toward the class. If you have a choice, definitely take her class, it will be an easy A.

I'm taking organic chemistry now and i could not stop missing being in her class a year ago. She was on of the BEST professor i ever had. being in her class was like a blessing. and she has the best personality EVER!! caring, friendly, involving and understanding. Kristi, I miss you so much.

She is helpful with everything, and very easy to talk to. If every proffesor was like professor Mock, college would be a lot more enjoyable. Show up to class study and you will do just fine. She makes an unenjoyable subject enjoyable. Maybe Kippenhan who is the lab instructor can a take a lesson from her.

Dedicated to her students. Be sure to take HER notes and review HER vocab verbatim before exams (these make easy true/false questions). Go to office hours for help with homework, study two days before the exam, and go to lecture. You will easily get an A if you do all three things. Awesome professor!

She was amazing! I got an A- in this class before the final. Be sure to print out all the power points she puts out because they are guided notes. She is very helpful and explains things well the first time. She actually wants to see her students do well!

Dr. Mock is an awesome professor. she really knows her stuff. The material is very difficult and you only have a semester to cover 24 chapters, so I highly suggest NOT to miss any classes and be sure to print off her notes! I had an A up until the final. the final is written by the National chemistry society, so it's extremely difficult. Good luck!

She's an amazing teacher and she is very understanding if you don't understand the material. Her exam are mainly based off of the notes she posts and basic concepts. She's just awesome!!!!

Dr. Mock was a very good professor, but she did rush though the material at times. I took her for Nursing Chemistry, which was a very difficult topic in and of itself. If you go into her office hours she is very helpful. Make sure that you are in lecture so that you can get clicker points. Those points definitely add up.

Pretty good professor. Good at going through examples and problems. She does rush just a little bit to office hours if you need help. Make sure to do the ALEKS and Mastering Chem because it definitely adds up.

Mock was definitely fair and was pretty easy, I don't know why ppl are knocking her. I don't even like chem and missed a few classes and easily got an A. Her exams were just like her notes and her practice exams. The hmwk was exactly like the ones she recommended to do. So there are no surprises. This is college, it requires studying ppl.

Dr. Mock is an incredible woman and an awesome professor! I took Chemistry for Health Science which was a really, really difficult course itself, but she did her best. While the class really sucked, Dr. Mock was incredible. She is really helpful during office hours and has an amazing personality.

Great chem 1230 teacher. Surprised how energetic and interesting she can make a chemistry class. Very clear, extremely helpful and friendly during office hours. Tests are of average difficulty, maybe slightly on the easier side. Study for about 10-15 hours over the course of 2-3 days before an exam and you should get an A .

I love how approachable she is, I'm usually apprehensive about asking for help but she's the friendliest professor I've had so far. As for teaching, she breaks tough, wordy concepts into straightforward ideas. Oh yeah, she speaks fluent English too, no thick accent to hear through. That's always good.

She is a very clear teacher. When she gives notes she writes as she speaks so that you can copy and listen to her notes. The class inst an easy A but it is a good course. I missed several lectures of hers and was able to catch up and get back into the swing of it pretty easily. The clicker questions are impotent.

Professor Mock is a great teacher with a lot of information. She teaches well and her lectures are fairly easy to understand. If you take this class you have to know it is going to be hard. With that said, I believe that she did the best she could to help students get the grade they deserved. Class averages on tests around 60%

The class was definitely tough but i spent many hours reading the book and going to her office hours were she would make everything more clear , i would say if you have this class spend lots of time reading and if you don't get what you reading go to talk her she is there to help you .

She's really nice, this class is just extremely difficult for a freshman class. Explores Gen Chem, Organic Chem and Bio Chem. The book is essential, you will need a clicker and the Mastering Chemistry access code. It is helpful to print off slides (fill in)You will NEED to study. Stay caught up or even ahead on all of the Mastering Chem homework's

Wonderful professor, although the class is tough. If you go to her before or after class with questions she will help you. Make sure that you ask questions if you do not understand something, it is best to go to her office hours there she is very clear and helpful.

She was a great professor overall and was really well with misunderstandings. Sit with people you know are focused and can talk to if you need help. PRINT OUT THE SKELETON NOTES SHE GIVES YOU ON BLACKBOARD. She does go pretty fast during lecture and this really helps to follow along. Also, some answers are in the back of the chapter sometimes.

Dr. Mock is a decent lecturer and a fair tester. She does get rushed at times but overall is very consistent and mindful of her students' comprehension of the material. She is one of the better Chemistry professors at the University of Toledo.

The class was a hard class but she helps a lot and the homework is extremely helpful. She gives out old exams to help you study which help a lot!!

Her note taking is sort of fast so I suggest you study the material before hand, even taking notes before too. She opens her office for everyone which I liked. Liked her teaching style, just pay attention.

If you've taken chem before the beginning of the class is a breeze but gets harder as you go. Tests are all cumulative so you can't just forget the material from the first chapters. She goes through the notes fairly fast but is a great professor and will explain things if you ask. Studying is essential to earn a good grade.

Professor Mock is a great! Her class, however, is hard. You have to work very hard to receive a good grade. I highly recommend going to the SI sessions for this class. The SI sessions helped me tremendously. I ended up with an A- in the class but that took a lot of studying and hard work.

I personally loved Professor Mock. She was a wonderful teacher and is very willing to help if you ask! Tests are cumulative, so be sure to actually learn the material as you go. You are not going to be able to find a professor for this class who makes it extremely easy, because the material is very difficult. Even though it is a hard class, Dr. Mock does a great job at explaining everything that she can. Even though this class is awful, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else as my teacher. Dr Mock was a GREAT teacher. She was always willing to help and very easy to talk to. I'm taking 1120 now(which is a lot harder) but 1110 was fairly easy and it was a big thanks to Dr. Mock. Definitely my favorite professor!

Dr. Mock is an amazing proffessor I had her for Chem 1120 and that is an extremely hard class but I am so glad I had her. She is the only reason I passed the class! She is super helpful and explains things so well! She will help anyone who askes ! Make sure you pay attention in lecture because she moves really fast.

Professor Mock is one of the best professor's I have ever had. She takes this course, which is one of the hardest there is, and does her very best to help students retain the information. I would suggest working problems from the book. It DOES help, probably the first class I've had where I actually looked in my book. For students that don't care much for chemistry, the class is very hard. She is willing to help students that want the help. You HAVE to work for the grade you want. Personally the organic portion was easiest.

Dr. Mock was my absolute favorite professor this year, and I will definitely miss her. Make sure you go to class and SI sessions. She is always easy to get a hold of outside of class and responds to emails quickly and is very approachable. Make sure to print her notes off of blackboard to help you follow along. Her class is not an easy A whatsoever, however if you study and do the homework you will get a good grade! Study for her exams and the finale! She is willing to help you during office hours and is very quick to respond back to emails. The class is a combination of General, Organic, and BioChem, so you do cover a lot of material in 16 weeks!

She gives notes via powerpoint but she gives you every powerpoint. They are fill in the blank so it is easy to stay focused and to follow along. She does her best to answer every question and will email you after if she doesn't get to you. She cares about her students. Go to SI sessions. I wish I could take her for other classes.

She tends to go a little fast sometimes so you can end up confused, but you can always watch re-lecture. Going to class is pretty important, she provides learning questions for points to make sure you understand. Tests are not too hard as long as you study days in advance.

Does a good job going through everything step by step, but can speed through slides quickly so beware if you're a slow note taker. I had some technical issues with getting the online website to work and she was completely understanding and extended homework due dates for me. Excited to take my next chemistry class with her!

I took this course as a requirement for the Nursing program, the class is very difficult because we cover General Chemistry, Bio Chemistry and Organic Chemistry in one semester. The class is definitely passable but you must work for it! She moves quickly through lectures because we have to cover so much material but will help if you ask.

This class is very challenging. Using the book, in my opinion, helped me get a better understanding since she rushes through lecture. Exams are very hard so make sure you give yourself lots of time to study. The final is a standardized test which makes it hard to prepare for. Overall, this class requires a lot of time and effort if you want an A.

Dr. Mock is an amazing teacher. She really cares about her students. I wouldn't suggest missing a class because she does go over the material and puts her lectures online but the microphone doesn't always work in her favor. The book helped me a lot when I got confused, she is helpful during her office hours as well. I would rec her to everyone!

Has learning catalytics (similar to clicker points)every lecture. Missing a few lectures won't hurt you. She has lecture captures available on blackboard if you do miss lecture. Homework assignments due almost every Sunday. Great professor, just hard material to learn.

If you havent taken CHEM 1110 yet, stop what ur doing and take that course before this one. the two course go hand in hand. Mock is a great teacher who teaches very difficult material. Be prepared to study a lot. HW almost every sun, Her tests consist of T/F, MC, HG. She doesnt reuse previous semester tests. Learn what you did wrong in your tests

I would strongly suggest taking CHEM1110 before taking CHEM1120. Dr. Mock is a great teacher but she teaches at a face pace. I would def learn the basics before taking this class because you will use a lot of that material. She is great during office hours and willing to help. She emails back asap as well! She is great and makes learning chem fun.

This is a very difficult and fast paced course. I 100% recommend talking 1110 before 1120. With that being said, prof Mock tries her best to make sure students understand the material and is willing to answer any questions. Utilizing all resources is important to do well in this course.

Professor Mock clearly knows what she is talking about and always willing to help her students if you ask. The class is a lot of work and takes a lot of studying but as long as you study and go to lecture, then it isn't too hard. She follows the book closely, so reading before lecture is useful.

Her class is really fast paced, but that is only because she has to prepare you for a standardized test at the end of the year. She did an amazing job at preparing us though, she always answers every question, if not in class, in an email after. Show up to class and pay attention and you will be fine. Excellent professor! Made class super fun and always had a positive attitude! I had professor Mock for my gen chem 1 and my orientation class and she was always a joy to learn from! She knew her material and if she wasnt sure about something she would email you later with the answer! Very helpful outside of class!!!!

Dr. Mock tries really hard to explain things. She obviously knows what shes talking about and is always open to questions. Quick to respond to emails with as much help as she can give. If you don't do the homework you wont pass.

She's a great professor, probably one of the best to take for General Chemistry I. She explained topics really well and made sure everyone was comfortable with them. The exams were also fair. I give her 4/5 stars mostly because she hadn't taught the class in a while and was a bit unorganized at times with topics.

Mock is one of the best chemistry profs I have had. Go to the lectures, but if not, they're recorded online. Easy points in homework and clickers. Chemistry is hard but she teaches it well and if actually study a normal amount you can easily pass. The past exams are very helpful to study!!

Dr. Mock was a phenomenal professor at UT. Chemistry likely won't be an easy A for most people, so expect to put in effort outside of her class reading and practicing problems, but that should be expected for this kind of class. This class was challenging and you need to dedicate to this class. This class is difficult because of how much material but if you are pretty good with math and general chemistry youll be okay. Dr. Mock is one of the best professor I have had. She is willing to help you in her office hours even outside of them.

Covered so much during each lecture, so if you skip, you won't pass. Take notes every day. Participation points every day. Final exam is extremely impossible to pass so don't even bother studying

Dr. Mock was the best professor Ive had. Chemistry doesnt come easy to me but she was more than willing to help. I attended office hours frequently. My best advice would be to write down all of your questions while studying then asking her in person. I did this right before an exam and got a 99.5% on it. LOVE Mock, but it will not come easy.

Dr. Mock is very approachable, when you need help ASK right away. Get Aleks done early or it WILL frustrate you. The last test is the hardest, avg was a 56. There are three tests my scores were a 93, 97, 78. I took AP chem in high school, the only reason I did well so take chem 1200 if you want the extra help, it goes right along this class.

This class moves very quickly and is challenging, but if you set time aside it is possible to do well. Mock is very approachable and wants you to succeed. Go to class as you get participation points and it is very hard to understand the material if you are not there.

I barely tested into her 1120 class, the book is a life saver and so was SI. If you show her you care and go to her office hours she will work with you. She makes things comprehensible if you pay attention and put in the work. Also she give bonus points for showing up days before the breaks and grades fairly if you do the work. Best Chem Prof Ever.

Professor Mock was an excellent professor to have! I enjoyed her lectures because she thoroughly explained the material in an engaging manner. She was readily available with questions in and out of class and seemed to comprehend the material in a way that showed. Attendance and participation are key, and exams are not difficult if you're attentive.

She was a great teacher for the stuff she was teaching. The lectures were heavy and material hard because she has to fit so much in from the curriculum! The hard stuff she made a point to help out on, and she was so sweet. She offers more points than what are in the original grading points. TAKING ELEMENTARY CHEM saved me for this class!

I loved this professor. She moved fast but this class, you need to. She knows what she is talking about. If you are having trouble in class, she is very caring and will help you in anyway she can. There is not much extra credit. You have to work for your grade. If you put in effort, you will get good results.

Dr. Mock is a great person but chemistry is just difficult in general. She's not an awful professor but I think it takes a special kind of person to teach chemistry in a way for EVERYONE to understand it. This course is very fast and 1120 is even faster. Go to class, do the learning catalytics, and do the homework and you should get at least a B-

Her exams are difficult, but you have a chance to earn 250 points just on homework/participation. She moves through the material fast but is always willing to explain things if you ask her during office hours or after class ends; she's genuinely one of the nicest professors I've ever had. However, you have to work for your grade and may struggle.

Dr. Mock is genuinely one of the nicest professors I have ever had. Chemistry is very hard and Dr. Mock does everything she can to help every student. The professor can only do so much, so you really have to work for your grade. Go to class, do the in class questions, do the homework, go to SI, and put in the time to study and you will do fine!

Supplemental Instruction (SI) I will be your best friend if you're struggling. Hw is very time-consuming but good practice. Don't skip lecture, she does clickers daily. Textbook not required.

I took the online course for Dr. Mock, the material was challenging. We had weekly homework assignments and quizzes due Sunday. You do NOT want to skip these video lectures, they focus EXACTLY on what you need to study. Exams were all online, first two non-proctored and final proctored. Mock emails back fast and she cares about students' opinions.

The class has plenty of homework but manageable for me taking 17 hours. Weekly quizzes have fair questions and As and Bs are relatively easy to get with work put in minus some. Exams are on the harder side so make sure to study for them.

Dr. Mock is a good teacher but the class is a LOT of work. I am also in 17 credit hours. You have 4 hours of lectures to watch a week with questions correlating, lots of MC, and quizzes each week. Shes understanding. I think any chem class is hard though. Better than other chem teachers. EXAMS ARE TOUGH (you can retake them though).

Dr. Mock is friendly and did a pretty decent job with lectures. A ton of homework and quizzes through Aleks, which wasn't fun. I suggest getting ahead early since you'll need to fill out this pie in the end. Doesn't give extra credit, so attend recitation since those points count towards this class. She also has a good sense of humor.

Professor Mock is a good person and a good professor I'd say. However, you need to know in advance, that you will have to review all of the previous chemistry content beforehand. Over 50% of the first test you don't learn in class. It is necessary to study beginning in week 1 for the test. It is academically challenging and rewarding. GO TO SI !!

She cares about her students. She wants you to be successful but expects you to put in the work. Attend the SI sessions as she does go fast in lectures. There are learning catalytic that she goes over, and they help with understanding.

Really liked this class and Dr. Mock, very good professor. This class doesn't require attendance but I would recommend to go to every single session. Lectures are recorded to go back and review and she emails back fast with good feedback. Overall, loved the course and would take again.

Great professor, class is difficult and requires hard work and determination but definitely achievable. Lots of material to cover. Make sure to do the extra credit in the beginning of the semester, it is extremely beneficial. She was very helpful if you ever had a question. She uses ALEKS which is hard but it's not too bad if you stay on top of it. Exams are easy just have to study a little more than you usually would.

This class is the easiest chem class to possibly take at UT....lecture heavy professor, but teaches you everything you need to know. Show up, study the lectures, and USE PRACTICE EXAMS/QUIZZES over and over and the exam will not come as a shock. First exam you should know 1-10 chapters, but that is expected b/c you passed the pre-chem class/aleks.

Dr. Mock has a difficult nursing chemistry class but that was because of the number of types of chemistry we had to learn in 15 weeks. The class goes by fast. With that being said, if you stop by office hours, Dr. Mock is extremely helpful and wants to see her students succeed. She is always there to help and is very good at explain concepts.

Dr. Mock cares about her students. Often though, MANY students come into this class and think they will get by by doing the bare minimum, which will not fly in this class. As long as you comprehend the notes, you will be fine, because the tests are based ONLY on the notes she goes over in class. EC is offered.

Dr. Mock is a really good professor. Despite it being a 250 person lecture hall she keeps class interesting and engaging. Overall an easy course and easy (but heavy) workload. So long as you do the readings and pay attention, the class is fairly easy and fun. She's keeps class fair and quick, but does a lot of unnecessary extra examples.

Mock is not a bad professor, her class is messy and at times feels unorganized. This class is ALEKS heavy. Her exams are not hard as long as you study the material, but it is A LOT of content, and I mean A LOT. The final is 23 chapters which includes the material learned in CHEM 1120, so be prepared for this class to be your main focus.

Professor Mock teaches a difficult class and I struggled all semester to figure out her exams. So much material and she can't use all the topics for the exams so it's a guessing game for what to study. Be sure to study daily and go over old topics, as the final is cumulative. This class will temporarily consume your life, but you've got this!!

Use her notes as a guide for what to read & understand from that chapter. Make space in the notes to work on problems in the book while reading, def helps for iClickers in class. Give urself a week to study & use the practice exams. For the final, u will need to know topics from chem1110. Put in the effort & u will do good! -aleks was not it tho:,)

Chemistry is a hard course no matter the professor, it's a 3 credit hour class but if you put the work in, it will pay off. I HIGHLY suggest going to SI, if I hadn't gone consistently I would have done much worse in this class. The aleks homework sucks but it's a super nice grade booster. (I recommend watching youtube videos on the aleks hw)
