very easy to understand, straightforward, and helpful. she really cares about her students. a great teacher to have if you have trouble w/ math! she's awesome!
She is very helpful and recovers any material that you ask. If you ask for help, she'll give it. Great teacher. I'd take any class she teaches.

she does things in a confusing way. . .
Applied Calc is pretty easy if you go to class and pay attention. Not too much studying required, espicall if you took calc in high school.
She explained where the formulas come from and gives several examples. She made it very easy to understand.
SOOOOOOOO EASY
She's an easy teacher, but sometimes explains things in a confusing way...

good teacher. fairly willing to help. pretty easy B.
kinda blah....but then again i don't like math so much. lots of examples, easy homework, practice tests which are very helpful. she even adds a bit of humor to the lectures sometimes. good class
Great teacher! Very nice and very helpful! There's a ton and a half of homework but the class is so damn easy!
She makes it pretty straight forward how to do well~~ but do your damn homework otherwise youll do sucky.. and shes hot too
She explains math clearly, but she gives homwework every class!you have to do the average study
Oh my gosh, she is one of the nicest professors ever. I was always decent in math, I made B's in high school but she explains it soooo clearly and if you ever need any help she is really willing to give it. I made over a 100 on every test but one. She is amazingly clear and a wonderful teacher!
I HATED HER. SHE PLAYS FAVORITES WITH STUDENTS. SHE ALLOWS SOME STUDENTS TO GET AWAY WITH MORE THAN OTHERS. ALSO YOU HAVE HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT.
The best teacher to take for Topics. Very easy and clear. Gives a review sheet that is identical to the test minus the exact numbers. Easy A take rittby!
I loved her topics class. If you have a 100% b4 the final you don't have to take it! I am signed up for her clac class next semester, I can't wait!
I am horriable in Math but made an A in this class. She goes though everything step by step and is a wonderful teacher! There is a lot of homework but HELLO...IT'S MATH! She's the best Math teacher that TCU has right now so take her!!!
If you've had calculus in high school, this class will be a breeze for you. If not, get ready for a pretty fast paced environment. If you don't study, you WILL NOT DO WELL in this class.
She is a good teacher, she teaches like she teaches her 3yr old son. But it does get harder as you go and you need to do the homework and understand it!
She is a very good teacher. She explains each topic thourougly. There is extra credit opportunity and the test are just like the practice tests that she gives. I recommend her!
Pretty much like high school. the teacher understands it, teaches fast, and then gives you ten homework problems every night. The homework covers about 40% of the test material. The rest...you're on your own because she thinks you should "apply" what you learn cus it's called Applied Calc.
She's pretty much the best teacher ever! Loved her class. She really simplified instructions so that I sometimes caught myself spacing out but I know it helps a lot of people who do not just love math and struggle with it.
Good class. This was her first section. The tests were reasonable. I took Cal in high school, so this class was a review. Clear concepts, homework every day, quizzes on Friday.
Very Hard Class. Quizzes every friday. You have to go to class. Homework not hard but you have it every night.
Took it my first semester to get it out of the way because I loathe math. She's very helpful, easy to understand, and the class really isn't very difficult. Do the work, study a little for the tests, and you'll do fine.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had! Math is definitely not my forte, but she gives you a ton of relevant examples and is very eager to help you outside of class. If she taught quantum physics, I could probably make an A. I highly recommend her if you are not a strong math student.
I would have to say she is the best teacher i have ever had. I have always been good at math, but she was able to make me do great. She has a great and easy teaching style is helpful to any students. I liked her so much im taking her again next semester. She is also really pretty.
Very Nice person. Take her class if you can. I took with her the applied calculus and she really care. Tests are not that easy but they're not hard. Do the homeworks.

I liked her, but I am not sure of her teaching methods. She was very impatient and made you feel kind of stupid. If you didn't understand she would give you this look like "your dumb". She really caters to certain people, so if you have had her before and did good she will love you. Try to stay on her good side and try as hard as you can...
Very helpful, if you go to class and do the homework you should be fine. Easy B, need to put out some effort for the A
One of the best teachers I have had. Really enjoyed this class even though math was not my favorite. Daily graded homework, make sure you do it. Gives good notes and explanations so go to class. If you need help go to office hours, very helpful. Notices those students who try
I love Dr. Rittby she is so helpful and so nice. My class wasnt so great but she handeled it very well. I would def recomend this prof to anyone! Nice looking teacher too.
she is a pretty good techer and very clear on her examples, however she makes you feel kinda dumb in class if you have a question. Your gonna have like five problems every night and attendance is not mandatory, but its easy to get behind. I found it easy to use the books examples for the hmwk. Also she is willing to help most of the time.
I really enjoyed this class but I like math. I asked questions in class often and she never looked at me like I was crazy. I would even call to check and see if I answered a particularly hard question correctly. If you go to class and study the book when you can't figure some of the questions out it shouldn't be too hard.
I enjoyed this class very much. She always has her office open if you need help and doesn't make you feel like you're hopeless. This class is not an easy A, you're going to have to do the homeworks and take notes. I highly recommend taking any math class that she's available in.
She is very nice, very smart. She does not care if you do not go to class or not. It is easy, but I like math. I think it is still easy for people who don't. There are 5 tests, so your grade is evenly given. I would recommend her for pre-calc or calc. I would defintely take her again.
Amazing teacher! So willing to help if you come to her. Explains all of the lectures very well. HIGHLY recommend going to class bc you can easily get behind. Go to class and do hw and should get an A!
She is a GREAT teacher, it was my second time taking this class after receiving a D in the first one and with Dr. Rittby as the teacher I got an A-, not too shabby!! She makes all the material understandable, and is always willing to help. She even goes out of her way to type up some notes and emails them if you need some extra help. :)
Good teacher, fun and keeps the class going. Tests can be difficult, but they are ok if you study. She is also very helpful out of class if you need help. I would definitely recommend taking Rittby
Topics----Amazing Professor! My favorite at TCU! Our grades were the opposite of a bell curve, basically some students got A+'s on all tests and others failed all the tests. There are 4 tests and homework due the day of each test. Helpful and clear professor! Amazing teacher! So nice!
I love her! I took calculus the year before and didnt understand anything. Once taking her class it was a breeze. I really understand everything that she teaches and the way she explains things makes it enjoyable to learn!
I loved her class she is very organized and helpful. She is clear about the material. Please take her!
I do not know what the people below are talking about or if she is self-rating, but please listen to this. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! she is for sure the worst math teacher ive ever had, i know about 8 kids in my class, 7 of which are failing... this class is a waste of time as is she, AVOID if you can
Mrs. Rittby is a good teacher. I has her for Pre-Calc and am having her Calculus class nest semester with her. It is always clear on the test dates and what assignments are due and when. She is always willing to help you if you need help.
Mrs. Rittby is the best math teacher ever. She explains EVERYTHING and she is very organized and loves all of her students. She will also help outside of class
Very nice & helpful. Try to take her if possible
Had her for calculus.. so helpful and did a great job at explaining the material. you need to go to class to understand the material.. Im not too good at math and ended up with a B+ definitely take her!
Take her topics in math class! I am awful at math & she was SO helpful. I took this class for the math credit & am so glad I took it with her. She is so sweet, patient, & will help you out.
Class 10054: Really easy class... too easy really. Lost interest quickly because the topics discussed during class were infinitely more basic than some of the homework; led to a few skips. If you're bad with math, though, she's a great teacher, incredibly thorough and really nice.
Professor Rittby did a really good job. She explained everything really well and graded leniently. Overall, she made this class understandable for everybody. Homework isn't very hard and tests comes altered versions of the homework problems. Take her class, you won't be disappointed.
Took class in summer. I would not recommend this if you want an A. I only received a low A and I worked my tail off to even do that. Work with a group to study and help each other. From what I understand the class is much easier if taken during the normal school year.
She made learning Pre-Calc super easy. My favorite part of the class was that she actually explained why we use specific formulas and rules on the white board. For the first time in my life I get math.
She is a great teacher I'll give her that much. The lectures, and million homework problems come in handy. My biggest problem with her class was the tests were twice as hard and the stuff she did in class.Like 1 + 1 = 2. We'll do in class with easy then see -2sin(arctan pi/2) *graph and explain why you chose these points* on the test. WTH!!!
Material is really hard if your not a math wiz. She does a really good job teaching the class but you really must do the homework well and study hard to get good grades. Four tests 60%, final exam 30%, homework 10%.
she talks all day and gives easy problems in class. the practice tests are not too difficult but they never seem to match the test in terms of degree of difficulty. the test are 10X harder than the practice test which screws a lot of people over because they know the concept but the questions she gives are difficult.
horrible class, half of my class dropped and I barely passed. I know more than 10 kids that failed the course and have to retake it. Does an awful job of explaining material and grades exams extremely hard. Surprised she still has a job.
Mrs. Rittby is a very nice person but she does not really know how to teach a class. Often times when you would ask her questions she would tell you that youre close but she wouldnt give you any contexts into how to get the answer. She kind of took a figure out type of approach which is why a lot of kids failed the class this semester.
Prof Rittby makes Topics in Math super easy and honestly lowkey fun. She makes sure all her students succeed if they put in the work. She knows that most people don't like math in this class, so she makes it as easy as she can.
Professor Rittby is a great professor. She is really sweet to connect with students. If you go to office hours she will help you with any questions. If you do not attend class, you can rewatch lectures. She grades homework based on the techniques and process that's taught. Really easy! If you pay attention and do homework you should be good.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had. When you ask her for help she just sends you right back to her notes and it is awful. The University is on her for not following the rules of the university so she defiantly doesn't care about anything to do with students.
The professor gives very detailed lectures and goes through multiple examples so make sure to pay attention and work the problems out. Do all the homework and all the my labs and keep practicing. Shes overly particular about how she grades, if it is not in her exact format she will deduct points. DO THE BONUSES
Kristi made calculus a lot less intimidating that I initially thought. Sometimes quiz material and class material don't match up, but the homeworks usually do, and if you're stuck she'll help you. Also after class she post the whiteboard notes. Her lectures are pretty easy to understand, and if you do the homeworks you'll probably pass the class.

Great lectures and overall a good professor, however, if you do not show your work the way she wants it you will lose credit. This was difficult for me to do because I am used to showing all my work but she didn't need all work shown.
Figured this class would be easy bc. I took calc in high school and did very good. Absolutely not. Its easy for your grade to slip away due to hw. The tests are never enough time, there's always ppl trying to finish after time is done. If you ask a question she never directly answers it. I even went to private office hours. Worst mistake ever.
I took AP calc in Highschool, so I thought this would be a breeze. It was not. If your work even slightly deviates from the exact way she wants it, you will receive NO credit on the question. The test problems and homework problems are nothing like what is done in class, and so the class notes are next to worthless.
Professor Rittby is a caring person and a thorough teacher. Her class is lecture and note-based. It is important to go to class in order to succeed on the tests, but it is not required. She gives detailed feedback on assignments and is available to meet outside of class time. Although she is a harsh grader, she is a great teacher and I would recomm
Super precise grader
I reccomend professor Rittby to everyone. I took her for pre calculus this semester and am planning on taking her for calculus next semester. I took her 8am Tuesday/Thursday (take it later if you can it was brutal) but each class you take notes then you have homework assignments to do. 3 tests (all similar to study guide) & final. TAKE HER !!
Lots and lots of material, not a lot of explanation. Be ready to use Khan Academy and have a private tutor on the side. This professor does not curve anything, no matter how the class is doing as a whole.
Rittby is a good professor, but a VERY precise grader. The homework is always 10x harder than what she goes over in class. The tests are extremely difficult and gives hardly anytime to study. Avoid taking her for applied calculus if possible.
I took Prof. rittby for precalc as well as applied calc. I feel that she is the best calculus teacher at TCU. At first I was in another teachers class but dropped. Prof. rittby goes slow which I love. The class itself is difficult but she gives a ton of partial credit and is very understanding. 2 test plus final, mylab and written homework.
Just choose another teacher
She is a brutal grader and does not care if you do well. She does not go out of her way to help you. Tests are very difficult and the homeworks are also graded very hard. Even if you get the correct answer you will not get full credit unless you do the problem the exact way she showed in class.
I am currently in applied pre calculus and have actually never had a worse teacher. I am not even kidding when I say she makes absolutely no sense and goes way too fast. Her homework's are nothing like the classwork and she is EXTREMELY inflexible with office hours. Don't bother asking her for help, it won't do anything for you or your grade.
I am currently taking Applied Calc with Professor Rittby and i have to say she is one the worst professors I have had. She flies through lectures, does not care about her students or their grades and she is awful at explaining how to do the course work. If you do take her, prepare to have a private tutor on the side or 10+ hours a week to study.
I am currently in this Applied CALC. She gives way too much homework which is no where related to what she teaches in class. Does not care or go out of her way to help her students AT ALL. She grades incredibly harsh for absolutely no reason, I would advise finding a different teacher for this course. Save yourself the time and money.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Grades homework incredibly hard. Gives 0 credit for correct problems if they are not done the way she wants them. Harshly grades homework also, making it difficult to get a good homework grade. In class, explains concepts very poorly and is bad at answering student's questions. Stay away from her classes.
Avoid rittby at all costs. She assigns a ton of homework and its all unrelated to class material and is graded on accuracy. If assignments are turned in a minute late you get no credit and no chance to correct homework. Super strict and hard to communicate with outside of class. Doesn't respond to emails. Hardest grader I've ever had. Stay away.
Lots of work. If you miss a class you won't pass.
Professor Rittby is very nice, and she tries to help you out as much as possible. However, it is impossible to have an A in this class. She grades extremely tough, and there is homework almost every night. Tests are also extremely hard. If you are not willing to put extra work into this class, do not take her.
Professor Rittby was an incredible Pre-Calculus teacher. She's super understanding and was extremely helpful when I went to her office hours. She's uplifting and it isn't hard to see that she really does care about each and every student she teaches. Definitely recommend her from Pre-Calculus.
Loads of annoying homework. Gives 0 credit for work that isn't done exactly how she wants it. Horrible at explaining concepts in class. About half the class dropped because it is impossible to get a good grade. You should take any other math teacher if you can. This class kept me up at night because of the tremendous amount of stress it caused me.
Professor Rittby is a decently nice lady, but her standards are hard to meet. She gives a ton of homework, with six tests and a final in one semester. She grades very tough and takes points off if the work isn't exactly right. If you don't show up to class, good luck. If you aren't willing to work hard, you'll probably fail.
Hi, I just got an A+ for this class. To be honest, this class will have a lot of homework to do. But for me it is very easy and don't take a lot of time to complete. In this class, you will need to finish 6 tests and the final. But if you have an A for 5 or 6 tests, you don't need to take the final. This is the great class ever. Take her.
1.nice in person but completely rude over email, groupme, and feedback 2.extremely unhelpful if you simply do not understand, she'll make you feel stupid asf 3.the huge load of homework is hard to keep up with due to the fact that she uses 2 different online turn in sites 4.tests will have problems 10x more difficult that youve never even seen b4
She is a great professor. Gives a lot of online homework, no textbook. I didn't have to take the final at the end of the year because I had an A in the class. Go to her office hours. Super friendly and willing to help, and will reopen online quizzes if you run out of attempts but know what you did wrong.
Do not take Professor Rittby. This class is hard, and I mean HARD. She teaches well, but she goes extremely fast! It is hard to keep up sometimes, and she grades super tough! I do not recommend!
Lets just put it this way. I haven't taken this class since I was a freshman (graduating senior now) and my friends still talk about how awful her course was. We go back to reviews from at times to see if she has changed and this is awful. Brutal class, she was extremely rude to us. Looks like still half of each of her classes are still dropping.
I would recommend Rittby for Applied Calc because her lectures are very thorough and really helps me understand better than what I've heard about other professors. However, there is a lot of homework and lot of tests. It seems like I have a new test every couple of weeks. She also takes points off for every little detail like notation.
Be wary of negative reviews. The material is hard, but teaching and communication is superb. This is not just a math class - but a mathematical reasoning class. The professor expects you to demonstrate your understanding... not every problem will look exactly like the practice test. She gets to know her students well in office hours, go to them!
Rittby is really good at explaining content. Her lecture notes are always posted after class and have lots of examples, if you can't figure it out from that she is also easy to reach. Yes, attendance is optional but she is very helpful in person.
I love Rittby. Any calc class will have some tough content, but she is always willing to help you when you're struggling. Go to class, pay attention and go to office hours if you need. I took Rittby for pre calc and calc and I love her for both. Highly reccomend!
There is a lot of homework and attendance is crucial in this class. Despite the material being difficult, she tends to explain things well and cover the necessary material needed to complete the homework. I would recommend her class but you have to be committed to succeed in it.
I took her for my freshman year of Applied Precalculus. She gives clear notes on all of the separated courses that are needed to know. There is however lots of homework, and sometimes it get overwhelming because theres so much content. I personally struggle in math, I'm just terrible at it, but she does give you lots of resources to do better.
This class is difficult but manageable. Office hours are a must as everything in this class is accuracy based even written homework. Very picky on work so go over it with her before submitting. Some tests are difficult and some are easy. An A is very achievable but you have to work hard to get it. Very nice teacher though and is there to help you.
I ended up with an A with little effort and only going to class once a week. Highly recommend her!!! She may give you a lot of homework but it's just because she want you to succeed.
Shes not a terrible teacher, she moves extremely fast and her examples are absolutely 10x easier than test problems. Shes the pickiest grader in the world and will take any tenth of a point off that she can make an exucse to do so. literally harderst grader I have ever experienced.
I've never met a professor who can be condescending through email, but Rittby somehow manages to do it. Rittby is a "My way or the highway" math teacher, where if it isn't done exactly how she wants it, you're failing. Tons of homework & quizzes on multiple websites, which quickly becomes overwhelming. Exams are 10x harder than classwork.
I had no other choice but don't believe the rating, Her tests are impossible and you can't get an A. She tells you to study from the Problem Set given but you could study for hours and it's impossible to know what's coming on the tests. Her exams are awful and she doesn't care about her students, WORST TEACHER. If You like failing take her.
Prof Rittby's teaching style is a mix of confusion and suffering, where even the Pythagorean theorem feels personally insulted. If you love being miserable than I would highly recommend this class. It blows my mind that she is still employed. She has turned simple pre-calc into rocket science. If you take her, enjoy the blow to your GPA.
Professor Rittby's class is no walk in the park, but if you put in the work, you can succeed. The material is challenging, but she explains it well. Alongside studying the textbook, using tools like Unstuckstudy really helped me prep for the frequent tests and stay on top of the demanding workload.
