This Professor has had a minimum of 9 graded assignments per week (NOT INCLUDING THE READING) so far and I am only halfway through the course. No lengthy quizzes but a lot of busywork with so many links on D2L that it gets confusing. I have spent a minimum of 10 hours a week studying for this class alone. Takes a long time to input grades as well.
First of all, she grades by letters. Which by itself sucks. She also gives to many assignments that leave you feeling stressed. Also thinks its okay to assign 5-8 page essays that are due in a weeks time? You do not even get this much work at a real university much less in person school. Do not pick this professor!!
Okay first of all, she grades by letters, which is super confusing and stressful, EVERY SINGLE assignment counts for a grade, which could either help or reck or grade. She also is super unclear about instructions so its hard to do assignments. She also assigns essays and projects to be finished in weeks time, leaving students very stressed out.
She never uploads her work on time and when she does, she gives little time to complete them. She also is not up to date with your grading so you never know your class grade and or receive feedback on papers or assignments. I do not recommend it.
Currently taking Prof Bostons course and... its something else. She uploads all her assignments very late, crams in heavy tedious work, and has very high expectations for the work you submit. However, she will respond to your emails in a decent time which is good I suppose. Nonetheless, I am mentally exhausted and do not recommend this professor,
This professor gives out so many assignments and typically delays her weekly posts and gives short notices on when assignments are due. Her assignments are long and confusing and she throws multiple major grades at students all at once. She grades work very late so you never know how you're doing in the class. Would not recommend at all.
Just don't take her class. Especially if you want to know your grade as you go. A ridiculous amount of work with little time to complete due to late uploads. There's no way to tell if you're doing well due to assignments not being grades. I still don't even have some grades from the very first week of the class.
She wasn't mean and responded to emails in a timely manner but she doesn't understand that we have other classes and a life. We literally would have 15 assignments due in 3 days, one of them would be a paper, no exaggeration! There was so many pointless assignments and there is 4 textbooks for her class and she makes use of all of them.
She would have so many assignments which consisted of 4 papers and a bunch of pointless discussions and assignments. She says the workload gets lighter towards the end but I think that 's because she has 2 more papers and 2 group projects due towards the end right after the 2 5-10 page essays in the beginning.
She doesn't grade anything so you will not know if you are failing or not, and she has so many assignments I would have to stay up until 2:00am in the morning to finish because I have a job and other classes and she only gives you 2-3 days to finish all of it. She doesn't give you enough time to finish work, 5-10 page essays included.
She literally doesn't understand that we have an out of school life and other classes. Only take her if she is your only class because all of your time and attention literally has to go to her class. The work is hard at times, you have to read a good amount. If I wasn't so good at doing the bare minimum while making it look like I worked hard.
The work isn't too hard it's the amount that makes it overwhelming. She assigns so much work and gives you only like 3 days to do it. If you can write papers easily then you should be fine but it takes me forever and she only gives you a week so I was personally struggling. She wasn't mean but it was ridiculous.
I am currently taking thus course. There is A LOT OF WORK, and it is mindless busy work. Have completed assignments from the first week of school, which are still not graded!! I currently have an A, but it could change, because she has about 20 assignments ungraded, and I am 16 days shy of the semester being over. DO NOT TAKE THE PROFESSOR SERIOUSL
Professor Boston does assign work, but she does so with a purpose. Cares about students and meets with them outside of class to help them.
This professor provides very detailed guidelines for major assignments. Makes it easy to complete the work.
She does respond to student feedback and considers what students have to say. Does give homework each week.
If you want to learn, take her class.
Detailed guidelines for assignments. Really helpful for those who don't know how to start writing papers.
There are several assignments per week, but most are short - for example, a 5 question reading quiz. The assignments become less each week as the semester goes on.
This feels like the most college class that I've ever had. It requires you to think and be responsible for your own time management. If you can do that, you can get through this class with a high grade.
Class was fine. The reading helped me to understand the assignments. Entire week to complete short assignments and 4 weeks to work on papers.
Really appreciate that she gave us a break at the end of the semester. Caring.
Professor Boston is a knowledgeable teacher and wants to challenge students. She does have high expectations, but if you don't wait till the last minute to do your assignments you'll be fine.
She's fine. Created video feedback that was helpful on the rough drafts.
Provided helpful resources each week. Liked the video feedback on rough drafts.
The work isn't hard, but there is quite a bit. However, if you space out your week you'll be fine. The guidelines for the major papers are detailed and helpful.
Class is fine. She's a bit of a slow grader, but the work isn't hard and she does offer extra credit.
Professor Boston gives guidelines that I wish all the teachers would give. I knew exactly what to write for her papers - which is great for someone who hates writing and struggles. There is a lot of reading, but it all goes with the assignments. Some of it is a review, but helpful to complete the activities.
I had no problem in this course. She's a fair grader and is really looking for participation. You do have to spend time on the class, but it's doable.
Most of the grades are participation. If you do the work you will do fine in the class.
Work is fine. Just be sure to check into the online course a LOT.
This is a college-level course with readings and writings. I really like that I had a lot of freedom to pick my topics for my papers. She provides detailed instructions and then lets students pick an interesting and related topic.
Online course that is challenging, but I learned a lot.
Professor Boston offers students choices in her class. I really like that I could pick what I want to write about and know that she will provide a clear structure of her expectations.
Grades fairly. Easy to make a good grade If you do the work.
Do. Not. Take. Her. Class. Completely unprofessional. Has not posted anything for multiple weeks in a row. No feedback until the last possible minute (like the night before the final project is due) or just doesn't give any feedback at all. Assigns massive amounts of work to be done within a week. Only take this class if it is your LAST option.
Worst class I've ever taken, she didn't post a single thing for a month. In the beginning she just threw at us a bunch of assignments to complete in two days and then went ghost mode for the rest of the semester. The MOST unprofessional teacher I've ever encountered. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU LOVE NOT KNOWING YOUR GRADE AND UNORGANIZATION!!
Teacher is fine. Works with students who need help. I had a really bad semester and she kept in touch with me and offered resources to help me through some tough spots. I appreciated her honesty and willingness to be flexible.
She is not a fast grader, but she is fair. Students who are complaining aren't taking into account that we are in a global pandemic and things are stressful for everyone. I think that she is a caring teacher and wants students to succeed.
She has great guidelines for assignments. She responded to all my emails quickly and with helpful information.
really improved my writing and helped when i couldn't turn things in on time
great teacher, one of the few that does not grade on opinion
shes a great teacher
