This is an awesome professor. She's the only psych prof who considers issues of gender, sexuality, and ethnicity. I became a psych major because of her classes. However, I was disappointed in the other psych profs since I took her classes.

I have had 3 classes with her. Yes, she is hard but changes the way we view people and the world. She pushes you to think outside the box. She is very clear on what she expects, few can handle that. So if you are looking to hand in BS for assignments as well as crave the easy exam and still receive an A.....wrong teacher.

She loves it when you've not only read the assignment, but when you can talk about it. This class should be mandatory, what you learn about the world, from how you were raised (or how you're raising your kids) to the impact of advertising, to the propoganda we're fed by the govt., is amazing. Don't go through life without this info!

Great class and great teacher. She is extremely hard and requires you to read pretty much the entire textbook,but it is worth it. I learned alot from this class. If you expect an easy A do not take it. I worked my butt off and read every single page in the book and studied and I still got a C. If you are willing to work take this class.

This is a true college level course. Expect to KNOW the material...not just memorization. I thought she was great and enjoyed the material. But...if your looking to breeze through...this is not the class for you.

I truly enjoyed Women's Psych with Dr. Anderson. Every person I met constantly said that she was SO hard and I would really struggle trying to get a good grade and maintaining a full time job, but as long as you READ the book you will get a good grade. I Think Dr. Anderson is a wonderful INSTRUCTOR! She is extremly helpful, understanding, and has a love for teaching. Her class is VERY interesting, comical, not boring at all, she holds your attention quiet well. Although you MUST read and take notes for all of her test! this is the only way you will pass! I plan on taking her class next semester.

This teacher was a good but the amount of material that was given was so much that you better take this class with nothing but electives. I studied very hard for this class but there was so much material that it is almost impossible to know what the test will cover. She also makes you feel kind of stupid and if you a guy in her class WACTCH OUT.

Dr. Anderson was great. I enjoyed this class and she kept me interested. Attendance is a must as it counts fiestas your grade and helps on the exams. All in all read the material and participate in class and you'll be fine.

I've taken 2 classes from Dr. Anderson, and never made below a 94 on any of her exams. She'll clarify things for you if you ask her to, but don't expect her to hand you the exam questions and give you an easy A. Those of us who take school seriously know she's one of the best professors at UHD. I truly enjoy attending her class.

I don't see how you can take a course at a University called Psychology of Women, and retain the misogynistic attitudes in the entries below. If you take Dr. Anderson for this class, you will have some preconceived notions of gender challenged. Unlike many of the professors at UHD Dr. Anderson does not "Phone it in". She is tough, & professional.

Social Psychology: Read the material, take notes in the lecture and participate. She is thoughtful, enthusiastic and engaging as an instructor. If you are actually in college to learn (what a concept!) I highly recommend her for this class.

READING is a MUST!! Can?t pass by simply attending class. Attending class is a must but if you miss one or two classes you should be fine. She is a wonderful instructor who is very passionate and knowledgeable of the subject matter. Take this class if you truly want to learn & apply it in every day life. If you want an easy A this is NOT the class!

This was a very difficult class and I would highly reccomend running away and never looking back. The teacher makes the class overly difficult. She goes over a chapter a class, gives no test reviews and a 10 page paper is required at the end of the semester. Definitely not for the lazy students.

Well don't take her if you are not going to work for your grade. 4 Test essays were graded hard. the class itself was fun but didn't help you on the test you would have to really read that book.I worked my butt off and got a "C" at the end I kind of gave up. What can I say about Dr. A? Knowledgeable, passionate, engaging, respectful. I took Psych of Law and Psych of Prejudice with her. Her classes are reading intensive, but most items are given to you, with only one book to buy. She is no slouch, but if you put in the effort and engage the material, you can earn an A. Look, this is not an easy class but you will surely learn a lot. The info in this class will teach you about human behavior in many social situations. The book required is not like a regular boring textbook. It is interesting and consist of a bunch of studies on human behavior. Super interesting. The lectures are fun &she keeps your attention.

Yes, she is a good teacher and i loved her lectures. But the woman is crazy. You have A LOT OF READING. You have to order more than one book and read cover to cover of both through the semester! This class is very time consuming if you want to pass. 4 exams, no homework or extra assignments. Attendance counts toward your grade. Again, LOTS TO READ

2 books required, EXTREMELY INTERESTING. Discussions in EACH class, gives handouts for next class, needs one sentence answer to know if you understood it or not, 4 exams-90% & attendance-10%. 25-35 MCQs from readings/videos & 2 long OR 3 medium essays from handout (8-12 Q's), gives practice quiz b4 exam, final is not comprehensive. Class is great and life-changing. 3 exams, final not cumulative, 1 cultural artifact 3-5 pages, attendance is graded. Lots of reading but all very interesting. I almost missed out on an incredible instructor and class. Taking her again next semester. Very knowledgeable and real about all the -isms, which is refreshing.

Dr. Anderson is a great professor! The books required for her class are small paperbacks and she goes over the answers to the majority of the questions she assigns. Four exams and attendance makeup grade.

4 exams including final which isnt cumulative. Lots of reading. Gives handouts that do help for discussion questions on exams but must read in order to be prepared for exams. Great lectures! The more you participate in class discussions the easier the tests in my opinion. The material is super interesting so if you put in the work youll be fine!

Fantastic & engaging professor! Grades come from exams & attendance. It is strongly encouraged (i.e., required) to do the readings before class. 1st week impressions: seems like a good class so far. 4 exams w/ multiple choice and an essay (70%), paper (final) 20% & Zoom attendance/participation (log in, answering questions, and practice quizzes count as participation/completion grade. Seems nice, her zooms go over objectives, better than reading off a PowerPoint.

grades were based on 3 exams (1hr 15min limit) w 2-4 essay questions, a single page paper (8pgs), and going to 1 weekly zoom meeting. Taught with PowerPoints, they were more of a class discussion. If you didn't know an answer, she's super nice about it. Always answers questions and makes it easy to understand. Lots of reading, an interesting class

But her class is not easy. You have to study. Make sure you have actual copies of the books, not electronic copies, because the tests are open-book.

Professor Anderson's class was challenging but rewarding. The readings and videos were interesting, though a bit heavy. I found unstuckstudy helpful for prepping for the exams. Attend the discussions and stay on top of the workload to do well.

Full transparency, this is my 2nd time taking the course. However, it was definitely a me problem. You have to prioritize readings and complete the ppt questions before the lecture. exams are open book. you need both books, cheap from Amazon or pdf's can be found online. Dr.Anderson is passionate about this course & wants you to understand/learn!
