This was my favorite class ever. Dr. Beals is by far (and will probably remain) the best professor I've ever had. In terms of her class, it can be difficult to pass if you don't show up for the lectures. As long as you study the terms and take good notes, you should be able to pass the class. I honestly enjoyed social pscyh so so much.

The only things you're graded on are tests and "in-class" essays. Don't expect for any kind of assignments that could get your grade up.

She's very clear from the start, that the class is tough. I won't lie: it's a hard class, especially the in-class essays. But Professor Beals does a lot to help you do well and get better grades. She's a really kind, helpful, and lovely person and her lectures are very entertaining. I will definitely retake her if I have the opportunity.

Her classes are fun because she almost always makes them interesting by telling funny personal stories. She is very knowledgeable, and her lectures are interesting. Chill class, just make sure to actually pay attention and you should be good.

Amazing professor! This class is easy in my opinion if you put in any effort. Instead of exams, she gives mini quizzes once every ~2 weeks (10 MCQ questions) final is optional& will replace 3 of your lowest quiz grades. attendance is checked on random days so you can miss class if it is not checked. you can tell she really cares about her students

Dr. Beals is so kind and caring! I like how she gives real-life examples of the concepts that we are learning in class, she also shares some of her own stories, which sometimes are funny! This is what makes going to class enjoyable! Not too much work outside of class. 6 multiple-choice quizzes, some discussion posts, and 1 in-class essay. Take her!

I took this professor's Psyc 495 summer schedule for the Field Placement component of my internship, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. She always responds to her emails, and if you have questions or a problem, she addresses them and tries to help as much as possible. I highly recommend this professor.

Lots of research articles as well as in class group article reviews. This professor uses research articles to educate us rather than a textbook. Overall, Beals cares about her students and is passionate about this class. Identity project, two exams, in class essay, article reviews/discussions. attendance is taken randomly so show up!
