Awesome prof. Very helpful and really really interesting. Def. take.
Great professor, but a bit too liberal for my liking. :-) A definite must take class!
interesting young professor... highly recommend her for American Govt.

Dr. Bremer (Broderick) is by far the coolest professor at KU. Not only is she a very sharp, intelligent, worldly lady, but she's also very witty and down to earth. You feel like you're hanging out in class instead of just being present in class.
excellent professor and teacher, among the best KU has to offer
Interesting and knowledgable prof who knows how to relate the government to the real world issues
Really nice professor. Knows what she is teaching. Tests are pretty hard.
Excellent professor, willing to let every student speak their mind. Outspoken on a lot of issues, and very intelligent. Took what otherwise might be very boring material and made it interesting. Go on, sue Penn State!!!
really good. know what she's talking about. don't even need the book- tests from notes. advise: Go To Class!! big on class participation and attendance. tests are alittle tricky but she grades fair. if you try you can't fail...she won't let you
She is an awesome teacher!! tests are hard but she is a very fair grader!! definitly take her for american government. Boring material, but if you have to take this corse at least have her because she makes it as interesting as possible.
She is an awesome! Doesn't get much better at 8:00 in the am! She knows her stuff and is very opinionated! We need more people like her especially women! If she ran for president, she'd definitely get my vote!!
Class is decent, easy to pass if u attend. However, she's stubborn and closed minded. Doesn't accept ur views at all. The rates that i've given reflect her stubborness. If you're opinionated, you will get frustrated in this class, i know i did.
Came off a bit brash and abrasive at first; however, grew on me. Liked energy, attitude, and clarity, and willingness to turn class into a discussion. Tests all multiple choice, with one short paper assigned. Definitely helpful. No rounding, but curves.
The way she teaches is easy for her to understand. She gives you one paper to do and its only 4 pages long about an Issue.. That was an easy class but test are hard, she has her favorites, none of the above, and all of the above.. I am takin her again.

Shes a very good teacher and good looking as well
Interesting course (theories of war), though she may never teach it again...in depth materials though and class was a little off-course most of the semester. Learned a lot still.

Unprofessional. Forces her political opinions on you. Gives m/c exams that test you on facts instead of essays to test your thinking ability. Boring, typical debates. Biased grading procedure. Friendly, but arrogant.
Eh, okay. Shouldn't grade a class of this nature with multiple choice exams; shouldn't make her personal opinions known when teaching. Debate dragged on ad nauseum with minimal substance. Prof is great for conversation, not great for political theory.
She is Awesome! A fun class, and a great professor!
She made the material very clear and was available during office hours to help with questions. If you show up for class and put forth some effort she is very easy to get along with.
this class is awesome. she is one of the coolest teachers i've ever had. her class is fun and her tests are easy but you have to study. she has definately made an impact on me.
Very cool class, teacher is so nice and helpful. Tests are hard though, HAVE TO STUDY!
Opinionated, but fair. She doesn't force her beliefs on you, she's just outspoken sometimes. Very intelligent and very clear. I'd recommend her, even if she is a bleeding heart.
Clearly one of the best profs at KU. Very personable and caring. Her knowledge of anything political is unmatched in the dept, along with Riley. If you want to learn and enjoy the class then take her. Is not fake. She will tell you her opinion and let you form YOUR own.
Very easy course. One of the best teachers I've had in college. Just by being there you learn so much. I'd recommend her to anyone.
She is great! Really intelligent- class is fun - just make sure you go 2 class! not 2 hard, but not extremely easy. She really knows her stuff, always gives her opinion and encourages people 2 for their oen opinions. Encourages discussion. Great prof!
Very down to Earth and loves discussion. Very clear and very intelligent. On the ladder of KU Poli Sci Profs, I'd rate her 3rd behind Riley and Treadway. I dont agree with all of her politics, but her openly anti-right sentiment definitely make the class interesting and engaging. Take her!
Great professor!! Her intro level classes are sweet, but do not be mistaken, her upper level classes are very challenging. Take only when you are ready for some real poly sci.
Extremely great right wing professor, one of my favorites. Incredibly smart and the only classes I looked forward to attending all last year were her's.
Great prof! Class was always interesting and informative. Tests were not difficult and she reviews for them. Always willing to explain class material. Would recommend taking.
Probably the most down to Earth professor in the department, if not the entire university. She requires attendance though, and some days are just listening to the rest of the class **** about irrelevant issues. But when she teaches, she knows exactly what she's talking about. Recommended.
Bremer is awesome, she's really liberal(and it shows) but she'll never treat you unfairly if you don't believe in what she does. She's really easy with her grading and curves tests A LOT(she doesn't want people to fail a Gen Ed course). Plus she's absolutely hilarious when she rants. Take this Prof!
I don't know who gave Bremer a smiley face and a red hot chilli papper, cause this teacher is the worst of the worst. She gives horrible notes, and she just jumps from subject to subject. Her notes are so confusing. Twice twice before taking Bremer.Matter of fact, just don't take her at all!
If you are any other ideology besides liberal you can kiss your opinion good bye.. tests are nothing like the lecture notes and the class swerves off topic a lot overall not bad but just sit keep quiet take good notes and read the text
This chick is toooo boring. all she talks about is news. she jumps from subject to subject. dont take this class not an easy A
Dr. Bremer is one of the best profs at KU. She knows what she is talking about, and she cares about her students. If you can't handle a college course, go flip a burger. Yes she talks about the news, especially when it deals with...POLITICS! You should definitely take her because you'll learn from her, and will enjoy it too.
I don't understand why people trashed her? Yeah she's opinionated, but so is the rest of the world. She's the only prof that keeps it real for me at least. Go to class, she takes attendance. She's really funny about things. Just study for her tests and you'll be fine.
I know you are reading these Dr. Bremer so fyi you kick @$$... American Govt was a whole lot more exciting and easy to understand and the debates are awesome for students definitely take her over anyone else!!
The female equivalent of Jon Stewart; witty, very intelligent, and down to earth. She will let you conservatives voice your sides, but don't cop out and say she never did when she refutes your argument. As for her classes, you'll be fine if you 1) GO because she takes attendance, 2) study for the tests, and 3) THINK when you write your papers.
Very nice, funny, and intelligent but has absolutely no control over her classroom and tends to let things get really out of hand/off-topic. Encouraging and friendly, also.
Dr. Bremer is a really good teacher. Material is presented clearly, and tests are extremely easy. Don't take the class if you are sensitive to social issues because that's what you talk about 90% of the time. She's very good though - Easy Tests and No Homework.
Bremer is cool. Really down to earth. She knows her Politics and will demand that you do the same. Take her if you like politics, government and sociology. You should do fine. Read, study, attend and pass.
Dr. Bremer rocks! Very smart woman with a lot of background in the subject of Political Science... Take her.
Dr. Bremer is by far my favourite teacher. She tells you anything you need to know, and makes the course interesting. I made sure to take her again.
Easy on the eyes & a very educated woman. She's down to earth and you leave the class feeling like you've learned something, unlike MANY other professors in life.
BEST professor I've ever came in contact with. Highly recommended.
tests are STRAIGHT from her notes. an easy A if you attend (although it wasn't mandatory) or get notes from someone who does. she's opinionated, so for a class as huge as ours, it was actually kind of interesting.
AMAZING Professor! Tests are straight from her notes, which are easy to take down. Very funny and knowledgeable in her field. Very down to Earth and nice. Even if government isn't your major, take this class anyway! She is one of the best Professors I've ever had!
Awesome prof! She's very knowledgeable & has plenty of experience in political science. Go to class & take notes. Tests are a bit tricky, but straight from the notes. People misinterpret her personal insight. She's not opinionated, she's totally liberal & she encourages free thinking & accepts other people's ideas. I definitely recommend her.
She really cares about your success - with some effort, everyone should be able to do well in her classes.
Really cool. Shes not to hard and likes to see you do well. Must go to class and read. Tests arent bad at all.
best professor i've ever taken! she makes class interesting and I actually found it exciting to go to class. Extremely smart, witty and funny. She is very down to earth and genuinely cares about her students. Well worth taking.
Awesome Prof! I had to re-take POL 10 due to a different professor being extremely difficult. I took Bremer as my summer course and missed the first week of class because KU cancelled my other class. Bremer is fun, energetic, entertaining, and a great professor. I recommend her to anyone who wants to enjoy class. She makes 8AM worth it!
Not good.cynical. Try another section. Class ruined my GPA.
Had her at 8 am, she made it fun. Tells how the system really is, helpful, she gives notes. I'd recommend her.
Excellent Teacher!
Prof. Bremer is an easy teacher. If you go to class, you will pass. It is extremely hard for you to fail her class. In American Government she gives multiple choice tests because there are so many students but in her higher levels, there are essays. I never had to open my textbook to pass and her essays make you think.
Absolutely awesome lady. Even though some of her test questions throw you off, she's the most killer professor and her opinions are the best. I would literally do anything for this woman. The reason I fell in love with KU.
Dr. Bremer is an awesome, down to earth professor who is generally easy going and an easy grader. Her tests are not difficult, but some of the questions can throw you off. She is the definition of chill and is one of my favorite professors at KU. I look forward to taking more professors with her!
Very chill, relaxed debate style class, very awesome lady. The more the class talks the better it is. Tests were interesting, alotta "E" as the answer... she reviews for tests in class. No book needed, although it may have helped. I got a 94% on the first test, 54% on the second one. Interesting. He tests can be tricky, but mostly are common sense
Bremer is one of the best! Totally knows her field. This class had 8 short Precis papers and one longer form essay that was 30 percent of your grade. Actively participating in discussion is a must if you want to do well in her class. All of her classes are always super interesting so it's not hard to get involved!
She's the best. I've had her for multiple classes. There is usually a lot of reading and writing but she's not too difficult and makes each class fun.
Dr. Bremer is one of the best. Instead of giving exams, she assigns many short papers throughout the semester and encourages discussion. I honestly learned more about writing than international relations or theory, but that is much more valuable for my (and most students') long term goals. She is somewhat prone to getting off-track in class.
Here's the drill with Bremer. She's a great professor and you will cover a lot of information. I passed both of her classes fine with an A and a B. For notes in her class: write down things she says that isn't written on her notes. Rewrite or reread the notes at least once every other day to study. Also, go to tutoring if needed.
Bremer is unprofessional with her language and she discourages student voting, which she should be encouraging if she's an American Government teacher. I like the way notes are presented in class, because she rewrites them on the over head for each class. The whole class is basically her saying her opinion on political issues the whole time.
One of my favorite professors since I've been at KU. No textbook is needed and the exams are actually easy if you listen, take notes, and study.
Not crazy about the lectures, but the assignments and reading are very helpful. She is very knowledgable in the subject matter and she will help you any way she can. She doesn't give out grades and makes you work for them.
Bremer is a true gem. She cares about her students and will really work with you to help you grasp the subject. I've taken her for multiple classes and she makes each one extremely interesting. I'm gonna miss Bremer's awesome professing skills. Definitely take her!!
She's really interesting and is a really good professor! Take her. Also if you have an SI in her class she is so helpful so go to the review sessions. She also gives you 9% extra credit if you choose to do them. It's a really easy.
Professor Bremer is amazing. Her lectures are lengthy and sometimes boring if you're not interested in the topics that are discussed. I feel like some people in my class disliked her because she keeps it real and tells you how it is. She'll call you out if you're using your cell phone, and she's willing to answer any questions you may have.
Great teacher and very nice and easy professor to talk to in her office hours with concerning grades. Very lecture heavy but writes notes during class for you to take. Tests are fairly easy if you study the notes and pay attention to her lectures. You dont need a textbook for her class, she doesn't use it. Only puts in test grades and extra credit
This class was awesome. One of the few professors I've had that seems to be actually qualified to teach the given course. I learned so much interesting information from this class. Lectures were awesome too. Kind of difficult, but definitely worth taking.
Dr. Bremer is a harsh women, but that is part of college. She will challenge your beliefs in ways that many professors are not brave enough to anymore. I believe that I came out of Kutztown a stronger person, and thinker because of Dr. Bremer, even though I dont really agree with her about anything. She is also a really great teacher!
One of the best professors I've had at KU. She's very outspoken in her opinions, but everyone's free to say what they think. She also writes notes on the board so you know what's important. She doesn't grade essays that hard either. Most of your grade comes from a mix of assignments instead of a few big ones. Very personable too
Professor Bremer is a great professor. She is entertaining and tries to make a dry subject as fun as possible. You have to go to class because the tests are straight from the notes and not the book, but if you understand the material you'll do fine. There are no papers so most of your grade is based off the tests, which can make or break you.
i had her for intro to american gov. take notes from lecture, and study them hard. before the test she tells you whats on the test but dont go solely off that to study because she doesnt include a good amount of the material. take efficient notes and youll do fine.
There is no study guide before the exam, she just goes over what she taught in class. She writes exams herself so the questions are not fixed (it can be 30, 36, 40) and she will not prepare the exam until one day before the exam date. The exam will include the notes, books, lecture (50%) and the rest is nothing related to what she actually taught.
Warning: No extra credits; No A(s) in her classes; No study guide for exams; Notes on the board are messy and not in order; Check attendance everyday; Very conservative person; Like saying hateful words.
The worst professor ever.
Professor Bremer makes Lecture fun and interesting, and includes her personal experiences which helps a lot. She is very understanding and funny too. Only a few tests, thats all for grades.
Had her for American Politics and struggled. Never had any homework. Takes attendance everyday and make sure to take notes. The only real grades we get are for the tests so be ready to study. She usually curves the tests because the majority of us do awful on the tests.
She gets off task a lot in the class and talks about her own personal views which can go on for awhile. Her lectures can get confusing because she tends to jump around between topics. Study a ton for the exams because theyre difficult. Overall, shes sweet when she wants to be and tough when she feels like it.
I've had Dr. Bremer for four classes and enjoyed every one. Class is a mix of discussion and lecture. Very opinionated, she'll say things you disagree with regardless of your political views. Tests are a bit tough but doable. She doesn't grade essays that hard though. She went out of her way to help me w/ grad school applications so that's nice.
This class is mostly graded by the tests you take with an occasional discussion post. The tests are easy if you study and most everything comes straight off the notes she gives in class. The extra credit she offers is super important cause it can really boost your grade.
Interna relations class had clear syllabus. 3 quizzes and 3 essays. There're 5 essay options with documentaries and you pick 3 that you want to write on. Lectures slightly hard to follow since they are with chalk but she has review sessions before quizzes that tell you exactly what's on the quiz. 2 extra credit opportunities.
She is very outspoken, but also very knowledgeable. She has 3 tests, and they are a little difficult. Her lectures are interesting but can be hard to follow. You will learn a lot though, and she does have extra credit opportunities. Also, you will have 3 writing assignments, and she does grade these a bit harshly.
I took this class during the winter semester. The only assignments I had was 5 chapter quizzes and three discussion post which she grades harder on those. Other than that it was a fun and easy class to take. Would highly recommend taking this class during the winter semester.
Overall very good professor, she is very lecture heavy and writes her lecture notes on a chalkboard. She is very smart and will provide extra credit. Quizzes/Exams are a little difficult, some of the questions are hard to understand and some we don't go over in class. She is a very understanding professor and loves to engage in student debate!
She has many years of experience in international relations and she really shows it. She has amazing lectures and she loves to talk world politics with the class. She also does all of her notes on the chalk board so get ready to write it all down. 3 exams and 2 essays. Essays are easy and exams are OK. Overall, very informational and amazing class.
I love Dr. Bremer, she knows international and world politics well---she encouraged me to apply for internships and a seminar this summer. My favorite part is her no-holds-barred take on politics. There were two short papers in the class and a textbook, otherwise just come to the classes and you'll be fine. Great B Gen Ed.
I took her for POL 20 too this semester, she is awesome and there was just a book we had to read and write a paper on it---otherwise it was a very easy class. She has great takes on international politics that occur every week. I recommend as a B Gen Ed for non-poly sci majors. She also encouraged me to take an extra class this semester. Great idea
Amazing professor. Exams questions are kinda challenging, but she tries to hint at certain answers and did curve exams. Two easy essays to boost your grade. Don't be a fool and lose out on attendance/participation easy points. Ask for help if struggling on exams she's a very easy person to talk to.
She doesn't post the notes on D2L so you need to go to class or ask someone for them to pass the tests. Graded by very few things, but if you have notes it isn't hard. She's nice but gets off topic a lot when current events are brought up and sometimes that wastes 30+ minutes of class (not in a good way).
Great professor. I've had her before and I always enjoy her classes. I am taking her Causes of War class Fall 2023. Make sure to attend the lectures and you will do well on the tests.
I loved taking this class, it was super easy and I learned a lot more about writing than about "The Causes of War," I recommend for every major to take. Class every other week, 5 short 1-2 page single spaced papers 3 discussion posts, and class participation--that's it! I loved Dr. Bremer and my writing has improved so much over the semester!
This class was a little confusing, maybe because political theory isn't my thing. Somewhat easy, just an essay, tests and class participation. If you don't like political theory, I don't recommend.
Blended class, meaning we met in person about every other week. All assignments were writing assignments 3 discussion posts about war films of your choice and 5 1-2 page papers summarizing and analyzing other readings ranging from 5-20 pages in length. Pretty easy for 200 level class. In-person classes were discussions about the readings and films
Attendance is 5%. Notes are not online so it's good to show up. She's very nice and funny. Read about the Rwandan genocide, very interesting to write about. Class is a lecture, but very casual, you can just call out for the most part if you're near the front, although I recommend raising hand.
Attendance is 5%. Notes are not online so it's good to show up. She's very nice and funny. The whole course of pol. theory is about ancient philosophers. Do not expect to learn much about contemporary politics. Class is a lecture, but very casual, you can just call out for the most part if you're near the front, although I recommend raising hand.
As someone who wasn't very interested in political theory, I was worried this wouldn't be the class for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the information was easily digestible. Also, there were not many assignments which made it an easy class during what was an otherwise tough semester.
She's a funny person and I liked the casual atmosphere of her class. But I found the material to be really hard to understand, especially since she only spoke/wrote on the chalkboard instead of having slides. It was hard to pay attention since people would go on tangents and talk over each other. It was hard to know what to even write down.
Great person, funny, engages the class in various discussions. everyone likes to participate and she cares for the students. 3 exams and only 2 short essays. shes very laid back and willing to work with anyone.
This was her first time teaching the class in a while and as a stats class, no one is going to "like" it but I thought she made it very easy to understand (I am biased since I took a stats class in hs). She was always willing to meet with me to develop my research and paper. Of course though, only take if you have to since it is a hard class
Dr. Bremer was a phenomenal instructor. Her tests are all multiple choice, and she doesn't test anything that wasn't explicitly mentioned in class. She tends to wander off topic at times, but she always finds her way back, you just need to be patient. There was one paper that was a think piece, and the requirements and critiques were clear.
Great professor who makes class engaging. Exams are challenging but she provides helpful hints. Use unstuck ai and the textbook to ace this course. Participation points are easy, so don't skip class.
