This course can be a bit of a bear if you're not careful. Ms. Hartford is a very good teacher, but her grading style can kill you if you're not into form.

Took this class Spring 2004. Class is very easy! Easy "A." Teacher is also funny. You're given quizes and test. Some quizes are take home, and there are test review questions which she goes over. There are also mini projects to complete as homework which were no biggie.

Ms. Hartford is an excellent teacher who explains the math concepts well and in detail. She will help you in every way she can and is available if you contact her. She also will help her previous students with the classes following this one. She grades fair and gives you makes it easy to do well.

She is fair and always willing to help, all you have to do is ask. I am not a math whiz but I left feeling like one, because she breaks it down to wear you can understand it.

What a wonderful teacher! It hard to find people who can be down to earth, approachable and interesting when it comes to this subject. She was a pretty good teacher. She wrote eveything you need to know up on the board which maked taking notes soo much easier. If ANYONE had a question on something she would explain it in great detail. I recomend her as a teacher, expecially for those who arnt particularly good in math.

Hartford tries to act tought a lot of the time but it's easy to see right through her. She is a really sweet lady who really really wants her students to succeed. She makes everything as clear and easy as possible and cuts you lots of slack. I deserved a B or C but she gave me an A instead!

Great teacher. Her test come straight of the book. If you don't understand a concept being taught she will explain it different ways just so you can understand it. When she says she in her office she is really there. Attendance is very important, so be there. Take her if you have a difficult time with math.

Taking her now, almost done so I dont know what grade I'll get. As far as teaching, A++. I'm that guy that never gets it in class and she still makes Calc easy to understand. Very articulate and complete in teaching. Always prepared with her own notes and she seems to hit her target goal every day. If you're serious about learning, taker her.

4 exams. 1 page (front only)cheat sheet with definitions and formulas (no examples) for each exam. she gives homework. the final covers everything from the semester and you get to use all the cheat sheets you've mad through out the semester. she's really clear, friendly, and helpful. if you have to take stats, take it with her.

She is a very nice teacher, but her quizes may be hard sometimes. Her exams are strait from the homework and review sheet. She has a great attitude and is a good teacher. Just do the homework and ask question and you'll be sure to pass the class. She drops two quizes at the end of the semester.

Mrs. Hartford is a really nice teacher, but the only problem i have with her are her tests. Most of the points come from the multiple choice question and i'm not a multiple choice person.. more like to show work. But her lectures are super clear she makes sure u understands them and feel bad if she's not doing her job.

I would recommend Ms. Hartford. She knows her math and is very clear in her lecutues. She tests are fair. By doing her recommend homework problems, you will be prepared for her tests. She is funny. She allows a cheat sheet which most professors do not. Take her! =)

I had Ms Hartford for both Calculus 1 during the regular semester and calc 2 in the summer. Honestly, I took calculus SIX TIMES before I took her class- and she actually helped me to finally pass. She teaches at your level, and really seems to enjoy what she is doing. She is AWESOME! She uses real-people words, and engaging examples. TAKE HER!!!!

the only thing difficult was getting the wording down on the proofs, the rest is just write down everything she writes on the board and do all work. look for typos on exams for extra cred. alot of assignments but they are not hard at all. dont need a graphing calc. i will take any class i can w/ her. for math 130 take nabulsi. bigwords.com half.com

great professor, not so strict. she is willing to do all the homework problems that you ask. Also, she is kind of funny and friendly. For the test, she lets you use 2 full pages of information (cheat sheet). highly recommend!

she is helpful and makes it easy for everyone to pass this class. You need to do your part, hw, quizzes, and practice tests. Most quizzes are take home, three exams and final. Final 50% take home and other 50% in class, part MC and part solve/show work. She is very helpful and will help you if you show interest in learning.

Ms. Hartford teaches by the book, so everything you need to know will be in there. There are plenty of quizzes but most are multiple choice and sometimes even take home. She always does a review and gives you hints on what will be on the test. Math is my worst subject but I did very well in the class. Take her, it's worth it.

Great teacher! She is extremely helpful. She goes over problem math questions. She makes math interesting. Plus, she dropped one of the test grades and tries to hold study sessions before tests. Textbooks are not necessary during class. You can go to the library to use (make copies) or math success center.

If I had put more effort into this class, I would have easily gotten an A+. Ms Hartford's teaching style is clear and easy to understand. She is also funny and quite nice. Ms. Hartford was great! I took AP Stats in high school but got a 2 on the test. She makes stats super easy. Cheat sheets are allowed on the tests, and attendance is mandatory only for half of the semester. As long as you do the homework and write your cheat sheets, you'll easily pull an A.

Seriously this is the best math teacher I've ever had (I know ppl always say that but for real) she's really kick back, funny, friendly, she makes math so easy you'll wonder how you we're confused to begin with. Take her I promise you won't regret it.

I recommend her. She has a pleasant demeanor and jokes and smiles a lot. She made the material easy to understand and the amount of homework was not overwhelming. Tests were incredibly easy.

I normally despise math classes but I actually enjoyed this one. Hartford brought humor to it and made it bearable...even at 7:30 in the morning. Some helpful tools that were allowed: cheat-sheets, extra credit, and tutoring. Attend class everyday to understand the material, even though attendance is optional by halfway through the semester.

Very nice teacher and quiet humorous. She is somewhat helpful, but only if you ask her. Her lectures were a bit confusing, but acceptable. 3 tests (Cheat sheet allowed) 1 Final (4 cheat sheets allowed) your top ten quizzes are recorded, and HW is collected at the beginning of each test. DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS ON HER WEBSITES. The tests are hard.

Hartford is very nice but unorganized. I had a hard time following some of the lectures, but she gladly went over any questions. Can't stress how important it is to do the homework and the practice tests online. She lets you use cheat sheets on tests, but do the work so you won't be totally dependent on them!

Wasn't crazy about STATS but she was great. Definitely recommend her to anyone who needs to take this class. She's very helpful! you get to use one cheat sheet (front and back on each test) dont know what else to say to sell it, its just GREAT!

Very fair, reasonable and a genuine person. Provides all the tools to do very well. Know the homework and the practice tests, complete the extra credits and you're good - and if you're stuck, ask. Went into the class thinking this would be my hardest class this semester but it ended up being the easiest. She is very sweet, and way too nice. She gives you the material served on a silver platter. The only thing she could do to make the class easier for you is do the work for you herself. If you struggle with math at all, you definitely should take her.

High recommendation! Not only does she speak clear English but she also gives you copies of what she lectures; students just have to fill in the blanks. This allows you to focus on what she’s saying instead of trying to keep up with taking notes. I took her class at 6:30 am, twice a week, and it was totally worth it. Pls show up to class.

Pros: Overall Easy class. She gives A LOT of take home quizzes and tests. She even allows the class to use cheat sheets to use for the Final Exam. She LOVES to teach Statistics..she will make sure that her students understand the material. Cons: She can get off topic...

Class was not hard but you definetly have to pay ATTENTION! Utilize S.I.(supplemental instruction) it helps and you'll get all the test material. Exams are 25 mul. choice and 5 short answer. 4 total Exams, 2 were take home.

Hartford is tough but fair. She doesnt give the best lectures but gives take home quizzes and her online homework is helpful. You basically have to pass the first 2 test or she'll start recommending to drop the class. She expects you know much from the prerequisite classes and if you dont she'll point it out. If I could re take the class I would.

I took stats before with another professor and got a D. Took Professor Hartford and got a B! She hands out the notes, all you need to do is fill them in. One test and half of the final were multiple choice. Stats is not easy, but she makes it as easy as possible. Even if you're horrible at math, you can still get a C in her class. She is the best!!

I have always struggled with lower division math but something about Prof Hartford is unreal. The way she explains things makes it easy and understandable to grasps the topics/ concepts. She helps you in all ways possible and does not try to trick the students. If you struggle with math, TAKE PROF HARTFORD

This class is very early, but if you want to take this class once & be done with it, take it. If you do your homework & put some effort into this class you'll pass. She's very nice & knows how to teach. If you're having trouble ask her right away & don't wait till you're lost. Teachers like her are rare & they should clone her.

The only thing hard about this class was having to wake up so early. The lectures were easy to understand and the exams are straight forward. Easy class to pass if you put in the time and effort.

I agree with the person below, waking up so early was a huge pain. Make sure you get enough rest before the exams, because I was half asleep during the first one, and boy did I make some silly mistakes. I knew the material, but somehow ended up doing it wrong, or choosing the wrong multiple choice questions. Overall, easy class and good instructor.

She is a really good Teacher, had her for math 60 in the spring. The class isn't easy, BUT she is reasonable. Do your work, slug through the hw and make it work, if you stay on top of your work and dont slack off and make sure you are meticulous when you answer problems on her test, you will do well.

Great Professor, super cool. Her lectures are pretty intense but clear. She gives you what you need to pass the exams. homework was online, however she was so chill with the deadlines so I didn't have any problems.. Definitely take her.

Prof. Hartford is a sophisticated, withy woman. Lectures are fascinating. She gives pop up quizzes and HW and Extra Credits, but always tells students enough information to ace the quizzes. Study guide and Cheat Sheet is recommended to use for Exams. Drop one quiz and one exam, HW online due weekly. Lots of work but enjoyable! Take her :)

She does make you do homework online, but honestly the higher in math you go, you can't avoid it. Really prepares you for calculus. She offers a lot of points. Drops 3 quizzes and one exam. She is the best professor I've had! After taking a ten year hiatus from college, I came back and took her class. I was worried because I didn't know a thing about stats. She made it so easy! She VERY clearly explains things, and she repeats them with several examples till everyone gets it. HIGHLY recommend. Would def take again!!

Most amazing professor I've ever had. She REALLY wants to help you do well, especially if she knows you care. She goes above and beyond. I HATE MATH but I love her and I love her classes. I've taken two of them. Hartford is also a beautiful person and a great support if you need it. I would take her for more classes if I could. Love love love her.

This class is fairly easy, if you attend EVERY class. This teacher is kind but straight forward. She provided easy to follow examples which made the homework questions less difficult. We used My Math Lab and homework was substantially less than the "Aleks" program I used for Math 130. I highly recommend this teacher if you plan to do the work.

I had a different unhelpful professor the beg. of the semester & I was so happy I was able to switch to Mrs. Hartford's class. She is excellent at explaining the material so you understand it. Very nice! Gives out practice questions for every exam (similar to the exams) & she lets you use a cheat sheet on tests. There are 4 tests + optional final.

Professor Hartford is awesome! She wants her students to do well and will work with you to improve your grade if needed. She's super cool, funny and very straightforward when going over new material. I would definitely recommend taking her for Statistics.

Given that statistics is not an easy subject, Hartford does a fantastic job of teaching it. She can sometimes be a little sassy, but if you respect her, she will respect you. Going to class is mandatory and the exams are pretty much exactly like the examples we do in class. She lets you write a half-page cheat sheet for each exam making them easy.

Homework is online so you don't really need the book. She's a good teacher who explains things well. If you're happy with your grade before the final and have done all the homework, you don't have to take it.

Prof. Hartford teaches the material clearly, but not perfectly. Whenever possible, she provides print-outs of the lecture that she works on with the students so note taking is a breeze. She does occasionally make errors on calculations that throw everybody off (like every math teacher, I suppose). She is very approachable and has a sense of humor.

Prof. Hartford was amazing! I hadn't taken a math class is 10+ years and jumped right into Stats (from reading her reviews) and I am so glad that I did. The material can be tough but she makes it very easy to understand. Attendance is a must to understand the material! I never attended an SI session but if you need her she will help!

Amazing professor! I was intimidated by Statistics before taking this class but completed it with flying colors thanks to Hartford. A lot of studying is required but that is a given for any math class. Go to class every day or you will not pass. Go to her office hours. She lets you have a cheat sheet for tests which saved my life. TAKE HER!!

Took it in spring '16. Best math professor/teacher ever. She is very clear about HW, exams, quizzes. Everything she goes over in class and study guides is on the exams. She gives a half sheet of paper for you to write formulas, problems, anything to help you on exams. Study well, do your HW/quizzes and you will do get the A. SI is very helpful also

I took her math 140 combined class with Mr. Ryan during the summer. It is a very intense course. I would not recommend this class unless you are dedicated and have a lot of time on your hands. Everything is done online using Aleks and they have optional lectures during class. She is very generous when grading tests.

Professor HartFord is an amazing teacher ! She cares for all her students and wants them to pass but you have to put your own effort as well. She is a touch grader in a test you forget to put a formula she takes off a lot of points. Make sure to attend tutoring it really does help ! Also, do the homework and practice test it comes in handy !

Stats is a difficult subject, but Prof. Hartford breaks it down one step at a time and makes it not suck too bad. Don't eat or use your phone in class, it'll just cause problems. Show up to every class, pay attention, and take notes. Cheat sheets on exams were life savers!!!

Hartford is AMAZING! I was nervous about taking Stats during my last semester, because I needed it to transfer. But Prof. Hartford makes it really easy. She allows cheat sheets and tells you exactly what to expect on each exam. She is one of the most caring professors I've ever had. She made me LOVE stats. No textbook. She provides thorough notes.

Hartford gives great lectures ! She breaks things down and moves at a good pace. She shows that she cares about you understanding the content. This is the best stats class by far. Professor Hartford lectures very well and she explains it so well. The best part is that she gives cheat sheets for the tests. Its a half sheet of paper and you can write whatever you want. You don't need a textbook because she explains it so well. For the most part,the HW problems are less than 10.

Professor Hartford is the best you can get for Stats1. Her lectures are very understandable, and she provides notes outlines for her lectures. she also has multiple study sessions, and class activities to get read for the exams including practice tests. she is available during office hours or by email.

If you do not pass this course, something is seriously WRONG with you! 1. The homework is not overwhelming and is quite simple if you do it shortly after class. 2. The practice tests she provides are a mirror image of her tests. 3. Her lectures are organized and simple to follow. 4. There are 2 study sessions EVERY week.

Professor Hartford is some one who makes a difference for your life. She's very bright, well organized and thorough. I had an exceptional and memorable time studying under her guidance. Excellent professor! My first math class in 6 years and I was able to understand her lecture and notes. She gives you everything so you can succeed, notes and Office hours take advantage! Do the homework this helps with your final grade! Every point counts! Hartford practice is the holy grail of all her test!

The professor makes the material easy to understand (this is from someone who struggles with math). Do the homework on time and show up and you have nothing to worry about. She holds study sessions and allows cheat sheets for exams, which help a lot with understanding the concepts instead of blindly memorizing equations. A great professor overall.

Prof. Hartford was the best MUST take her she grades fair must visit her in office hours when you are struggling and or even when you're not. also MUST attend study sessions they are a HELP. pay attention to lectures and attend class in order to pass. Must do homework its all review and MUST do Hartford practices they are literally her exams.

Don't pet Chester, her service dog, w/o her consent. Her exams are literally the Hartford Practice study guides she posts on ConnectMath. Allows half sheet of paper, front/back, for exam cheat sheets. You'll have to print her lecture notes in advance, but she really does make Stats easy. Coordinates study sessions for her students (donut holes)!

Took her Stats1 course during the Winter Session and it was by far the easiest class I have ever taken. She goes in such a pace where you can never get lost or confused. Tests and HW make up total grade. Makes sure EVERYONE understands the material before moving. Provides study guides which are just like her exams. JUST TAKE HER & KEEP IT PUSHING.

Professor Hartford is so nice and approachable. Come to class and take notes. Lets you use cheat sheet for test. Easy homework. You have to connect math software and scientific calculator but no text book. Print your notes out and fill-in in class.

Professor H definitely cares for her students and wants them to succeed she is very good at what she does. Really helps to understand the material. Stats is a difficult subject but she made it 10x more easier and also allows you to make up your absence in one of her other classes make sure to go to each lecture its very important you dont miss!

I had her during fall 2017. She was such a great professor! Professor Hartford was able to teach the math problems step by step. She even has her own SI leader in case you need help. Such a gem and very friendly. Overall, 100% recommend!

The best Stat teacher on campus. When I was a freshman everyone was fighting to be in her class. I finally got in and boy it was well worth the wait. If youre scared of math and need to take Stats. Here is your messiah. Professor Hartford lectures teach you everything you need, her tests are clear cut and no surprises, and shes just lovely. 10/10

If the thought of taking statistics scares you, then do yourself a favor and take it with Hartford! Not only did I pass, but I passed with an A! Mind you, you will have to put in the work, but she makes it very possible. Attendance is important, homework/quizzes are online and never too much, 4 exams (lowest dropped and cheat sheets), and 1 final.

I have never been good at math, but she made this class easy. she is super sweet and will always answer questions without any remarks. Her notes will be extremely helpful, as it mimics the homework/test online. She is straightforward on what she wants and her lectures are super clear. Be prepared to do lots of homework.

I am a person who really struggles with math in general, but Prof. Hartford made it really easy to learn stats this semester. She made the online switch (cause of COVID19) easier than expected and was always available for questions. She really is the best!

Professor Hartford is one of the best professors. She is easy to talk to. She provided the lecture notes. For the exams, you are allowed to use a cheat sheet. I took her class in spring 2020, and she adjusted well after having to do remote classes. She did live lectures on Zoom. Homework is an easy A. We did the exams online with three chances.

Math has always been my weakest subject, but professor Hartford is an amazing teacher. I took her class online since we are in a pandemic, but she lectures on zoom & records the lecture so you can go back and rewatch them. She has homeweork due every Saturday and Wednesday but its not too bad, and helps you understand. Tests & quizzes are open note

Prof Hartford made this enjoyable!! Her lecture videos were great. She is a fantastic teacher; she makes things simple to understand. I don't think I would've got an A with any other professor. Each week: watch lecture video & fill out notes, 1-2 homework assignments + an occasional discussion. 4 exams (very easy if you use your notes). Take her!!

I failed statistics twice before enrolling in Professor Hartford’s class where I passed with flying colors. She makes material extremely digestible and her lecture notes are unbeatable. Allows a study sheet on the tests, best to pay attention in class so the work is minimal at home.

She is a great teacher and a very kind person. She respects all of her students and is pretty flexible. She explained things in a clear and concise way that made statistics easy to understand. She always gives a comprehensive study guide and allows cheat sheets for tests. Easy class if you try. She also has a rly cute dog that she brings to class.

Professor Hartford is respectful, friendly, so down to earth, and overall just amazing. Her lectures are very clear, lots of hw to get you through the class, and quizzes to to make sure you understand each chapters. I love the fact she give you exam practices for each chapter so you know what to expect when its time to take the exam.

Professor Hardford is such an amazing teacher. This is my 3rd attempt on taking Stat1 for transfer and credits. She will do everything possible for you to pass the class but you have to make sure you do your quizzes, homework, and pay attention to the lectures if you want to succeed. I'm not a fan of math but I was able to get through the course.

I finally Passed Stats! thanks to professor Hartford I was able to pass. There is no way you should not pass she makes class super easy and understandable, exam practices show you what will be on exam exactly. She really wants her students to pass and makes it possible TAKE HER. Not homework heavy/no quizzes. Her dog Chester is super adorable

Professor Hartford has put together an excellent curriculum. Her lectures are easy to follow and mirror the homework assignments on Aleks. She allows 1 page of notes for each exam. Similar to other ratings, I struggled with intermediate Algebra, but thanks to Professor Hartford I earned an A in Stats.

Professor Chester is amazing he gives the material so clear, just make sure to print out lectures before class so you can follow along and not get lost.

TAKE HER CLASS! She was such a fantastic teacher which you can probably tell by her ratings. I was scared to take statistics because I would always struggle with math throughout my life, but with her help I was able to get a 98% in her class. BUT.. do your homework and study or you wont do well.

She is the most down to earth Professor I have ever had! Her lessons can be 2 hours long BUT they are extremely easy to follow and go by super quick! She makes sure everyone understands each lesson before she moves on. She also offers tutoring when needed! She brings her dog into every lecture, he's the cutest. 10/10 recommend!!

3-day grace period to finish hw/quizzes, uses ALEKS, allows cheat sheets on every exam, and replaces your final with the lowest test grade from the other exams taken. If you want to pass this class, just show up and learn the material, she makes the class so easy but it will be difficult if you don't show up to learn. loved her and her poodle:)

She explains everything from the ground up, makes youtube lectures that go hand & hand with the in-class notes, & even gives cheat sheets & study guides. Professor Hartford is very experienced as a STATs professor and her dedication to her students is evident in the lecture packets, extra study hours, and plenty of YouTube video sources she offers. The exam practices are nearly identical to the exams. Chester (her puppy companion) is adorable and helps the class be comforting. 100% take her!

I was very scared of taking any math course in college, but thanks to Professor Hartford, I passed with an A. We get a 8 by 11 sheet of paper and get to write down notes of the practice exams, we get to use this on exams.

Loved taking her STAT1 class this semester. The only math class I can recall doing absolutely phenomenal in and it's all thanks to her lectures! She's amazing and I couldn't recommend her more to anyone who has a dislike for math or finds it challenging. She makes it 100% manageable and is so caring of her students. Going to miss her! Professor Hartford is one of the greatest professors at LBCC. She makes Statistics class look very easy although it's tough because her lectures are excellent and she cares for all her students. She gives exam practice similar to the actual exam is a big deal since the exams are heavily graded. Take her class and you'll never regret it.

I am not a math person but Prof. Hartford makes stats very easy and understandable. You must go to class if you want to keep up. She is amazing. I struggled with math and easily got the hang of the lessons. I did miss a couple of days and let her know and she welcomed me to attend a different one of her classes to listen to the lecture. She makes everything so easy.

Professor Hartford is an amazing professor who explains things in great detail for those who don't understand the work. she takes time before and after class to go over work for those who don't understand the work.

Professor Hartford has probably been the best teacher/professor I've had. I have her in stats currently and she's been able to make the hard things extremely understandable. I say she's lecture heavy but she covers all bases in her lectures and you'll rarely come out of class with major looming questions. All class resources are on canvas too.

The class was very straight forward, had a nice routine. There were a lot of tests/quizzes but in the long run they did end up helping me with the final. She grades your notes so that adds a few free points. Overall the material was a little difficult to pick up, but the lectures and notes were easy to understand, better than the book.

I had to retake stats and I genuinely couldn't have picked a better professor everything was straight forward and so easy to understand with her. Professor Hartford YouTube videos helped me understand stats a bit better I would recommend to take her class. She also replies to email really quick so that's definitely a plus.

I was worried taking STAT 1 8-week course, but man Prof. Hartford natural ability to explain this subject in the most simplest, easy way through her lecture videos made this class 'easy'! Amazing Professor! I got A's on my first two exams, missed one, and scored poorly on the fourth. She replaced my missed exam with my final score and bumped up my fourth exam after I aced the final. Homework is on ALEKS, and she allows cheat sheets—1 per exam front back, 4 for the final front back. Practice exams mirror the final!

Great Professor! SO helpful and so caring. I hated math at first and now I actually love it. This is the first math class I have ever gotten an A in. She provides a lot of really helpful links, she even has all of her lectures recorded in case you miss a class. You can just tell she cares for her students and puts a lot of effort in. TAKE HER!!

Professor is very organized, creative, caring, made it very easy to understand and is always available when needed. Just keep up with your work load, study study study as professor does supply you with study guides and all the charts that you will need for your exams. I passed the class with an "A". Doesn't get frustrated if you don't understand it. Tests are open notes even on the final. Lecture notes and Exam practice are already posted for the whole semester.
