Loved her!

I have taken HIST 300, HIST 302, and HIST 303 with her as the professor. Her lectures are wonderful as well as relevant to the tests and quizzes. I am hoping that she will be able to teach more upper division history courses, particularly a capstone course, as I have yet to see any that are relevant to what I wish to pursue for a graduate degree.

She really knows her stuff. I really loved how passionate she is. I want to take more of her classes!

Heineman was fantastic. She is very animated and funny in all of her lectures and always keeps them interested. She is also extremely helpful, willing to help with any questions you may have.

She is absolutely brilliant and has done amazing field research related to her courses. I chose my history classes based off if she was teaching them or not.

My favorite professor through all my four years of attending CSU. Words do not do justice how much respect I have for her. Dr. Heineman is brilliant, fun, and just absolutely great at teaching. I never found another teacher I respected or liked more than her.

She's super hilarious. I hate getting up for an 8am but she makes her lectures fun and interesting so I went anyway. The way she lectures helps the material stick in your brain and she's always willing to help and answer questions. Definitely take a class from her if you have the option.

BEST TEACHER EVER. seriously so nice and funny. makes history not boring. you don't have to go to class!! (I seriously did because she is so cool) quizzes and tests SO easy- I got 105% on all of them. Coolest professor I've ever had, she's young cusses and ah i just love her.

Super straight forward, funny, and she's passionate and knowledgeable of her subject. (She also likes beards a lot, so be prepared to hear about the beards of history) You only need the book for the in class assignments. I didn't read any of it, (but I attended class 90% of the time) and it was a breeze.

She's absolutely hilarious! Her quizzes are pretty easy, if you take notes and do the readings. She is also very willing to work with you to get your grade up. By far the best history teacher in the department.

Heineman is an amazing professor. I took her for three of my classes (302,303,304) this semester and she was always incredibly helpful. She really cares about her students and gives everyone a fair shot at succeeding. Incredibly knowledgeable and lectures are always interesting. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone. HIST100 class is good too!

This is perhaps the best professor at CSU. You can tell that she cares very much for the subject she teaches, and she know just about everything you could ask her about it. Kristin's lectures make you excited about history, and I leave every class of hers with significantly more knowledge than I had before.

She's a great professor. Very funny and makes lectures entertaining. Though, has high expectations for the one paper that is due. The exams really affect your grade.

I wish I had found her sooner in my college career! She is hilarious, lectures are fun, and tests are super easy! I easily passed my tests, my first was over 100%. She does assign 4 papers, 3 are mandatory, but they are super easy and we have a discussion over them and two weeks to write 3-4 pages. Best teacher at CSU hands down.

Kristin is a wonderful professor. She has clear expectations of her students and if taken seriously her classes are relatively easy.

Excellent lecturer! Took a 100 level history class with her, one of the reasons I decided to stay a history major! Obviously very passionate about her field of study, gives just the right amount of work to properly assess her students and can be reasoned with in terms of workload. Not too heavy with reading and covers material in a helpful manner.

She is hilarious and she is so down to earth. She is really understanding and honest about the grading system. She drops your (3 I think) lowest quiz grades. She also is very willing to meet and talk about history or the classical era. I loved this class, even tho it was a 9 am.

Dr. Heineman is HILARIOUS! I always hated history and high school and I got to her class and I loved it! 10/10 would recommend taking her class.

Kristen is by far my favorite professor that I have ever had here at CSU. She makes the subjects she teaches relatable and interesting and her classes are always entertaining. The majority of her assignments are papers and her tests are easy as long as you pay attention to lectures. I highly recommend taking one of Kristen's classes.

Dr. Heineman is amazing! Highly recommend her class even if your not interested in history. Her lectures are fun and engaging and will make you want to come to class. HIGHLY recommend!

She is my favorite teacher from this year. You can tell she really knows her stuff and gives more info than is just on the slide. She is also very funny and makes the lecture interesting. Only two tests during the year, weekly reading quizzes, 5 in class quizzes, and 4 in class discussions. Seems like a lot of work but coming to class is enough.

I like history but usually hate history classes because of how they are taught. However, Dr. Heineman's class is actually pretty good. Weekly quizzes, an essay, and a few in class assignments. There are two exams that are terribly done though. The entire exam is composed of short answer questions (35 if I remember right). Nobody wants this.

This is my second time having her and I still really enjoy her. She makes the class lively and interesting to listen to. Only 3 papers, two tests, and 4 (easy) quizzes. It's a manageable class for being a 300 level. She is really understanding it when it comes to work being turned in and student life. The only downside is she's little disorganized.

Kristin Heineman is an AMAZING person and professor. She is passionate about what she teaches and she has a funny obsession with beards throughout history. I hate history as a subject and she managed to make this course fun and easy for me. Shes so easy to talk to and cares a lot about her students. She makes her class clear and manageable!

Dr. Heineman is a great professor! She's passionate, funny, and makes what most see as a boring class, fun. Granted I didn't try all that hard in her class, she did come across as a tough grader. If you pay attention and study for quizzes I'm sure anyone can get an A. But if you slack off a lot, it probably won't be an easy A like one expects

She's amazing at making the lectures interesting and telling you what you need to know. If you pay close attention in class and take notes, you can do virtually nothing outside of class and get an A+. I was always bored to death learning about history growing up, but this was the first class that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was my favorite class.

Took Dr. H's class in Fall 2019 - LOVED IT! She's entertaining and you learn a lot. Take good notes, review them often, quizzes will be a breeze. The exams were pretty straightforward, only one paper was required. Text is online with weekly quizzes that are also easy if you read the chapter. Looking forward to taking another class from her.

She is one of the best professors that I've ever had. I worked really hard, and my grade represented that. If I didn't work hard, my grade would be much lower. She doesn't give good grades for the heck of it, and she gives amazing feedback that made my work even better. Hilarious and charismatic. I like her a lot.

Her lecture slides typically only contained a few slides with a few major terms on them. Everything else was in her textbook (that she wrote) that we were required to read. Shes a really nice professor but her teaching methods werent the best.

I loved Dr. Heineman even in a pandemic. She adapted really well to everything being moved online and her lectures were super interesting. As long as you take notes and keep up on the assignments you should be able to pass this class. Even though this class isn't related to my major is was very interesting and I would suggest taking it!!

My experiences may be different since I took this class during COVID-19, which resulted in the course being 100% online and asynchronous. However, I LOVED this class. Her lectures were interesting and clear. It was reading heavy (again, maybe because of COVID; I don't know) but if you did the reading, tests/essays were easy. Highly recommend!

Dr. Heineman is super funny and keeps the class engaging. She isn't great with communicating, which made it easy to get lost/confused, but she's very knowledgeable and kept things interesting and humorous. A couple of 3-4 page papers, weekly quizzes, and semi-frequent discussions. Overall, a cool professor.

This is the second class I'm taking with Dr. Heineman, and I truly could not recommend her classes more. She is so knowledgeable and hilarious, and she is a more than reasonable teacher. I feel like she really has this whole professor thing down, since she knows what is important for us to understand the big picture and significance of events.

The class is very lecture based, but if you show up to class and listen you will do good in this class. Her lectures are interesting and she's a very easy going and funny professor. Class is easy with an essay and two exams being a large portion of the grade.

Professor Heineman is probably one of the best professors I have had at CSU. She really loves when students come to her lectures and all the assignments are super easy and leinant. She dropped our lowest paper for example. Test and quizzes are super easy if you just show up. The textbook is free and the reading quizzes with them are easy.

One quiz a week out of the textbook but she gives out the textbook for free. Only have to write one paper for the whole semester. Attendance is not graded but showing up definitely makes the material easier. Few quizes and only two exams for the semester, no homework just take good lecture notes.

Get ready for lots of reading and memorizing specifics. If you put in the work Prof. H is willing to discuss feedback and meet in office hours, and is super funny and makes class interactive and exciting. Very passionate about what she teaches!

Heineman is so funny! The textbook is online with 1 quiz/chapter/week. If you attend class, the material makes more sense and helps with chapter quizzes and regular quizzes. Heineman likes to answer questions often too! About 4 in-class quizzes, 4 discussions, 1 paper, and 2 exams. No other homework. Highly recommend.

Dr. Kristin Heineman is hands down one of the greatest professors I have ever had. Her lectures are relatively surface level, but this is a beginners overview of Western Civilization. She is very passionate about her work and history, an excellent combination for college professors. I would take her again 10 times out of 10. Highly recommend.

Dr. Heineman is a phenomenal teacher. You can tell right away shes extremely knowledgeable with her history and doesnt just read off the lecture slides. She really has passion in her field and makes the lectures extremely engaging. The tests and quizzes are definitely hard and you need to go to class to pass them. The papers are easy to write.

One of my favorite professors at CSU. I had her for my International Studies capstone and our class felt like a family. She is funny, open, and makes everyone comfortable. I would have taken any of her classes if I knew she was this great.

Kristin is clearly very passionate about the subject and her lectures are really good. If you either go to class or read the textbook you'll be fine in the class. Her quizzes and tests are really not that hard and outside of class quizzes are open-note which is nice. I felt like a learned a lot even though I wasn't that interested in the subject.

Awesome prof. Very funny and engaging, first properly funny instructor I have had. Go to the lecture, take notes. The exams are pretty easy as long as you are comfortable with the important points. Textbook is included online. The one professor I kind of miss seeing

Super funny and sweet. I took history of the Roman Republic with her and she made it very entertaining. Just talk to her if you have any problems she very understanding.

I took HIST 100 with Dr. Heineman and she is great!!! attendance is not mandatory, however there is a lot of information from the lectures on exams, but she makes it VERY easy for students who are actively participating and attending class. Highly recommend this professor!

Professor Heineman is pretty funny and tries to make history less boring. For an AUCC it's decently easy and you don't really have to show up just make sure your checking the canvas calendar and going to class when there's a discussion, quiz, or exam.

I loved her, she was a great professor and you could tell she loved teaching. She's very funny and the class doesn't have an extreme amount of work. There were 4 papers but you could skip one without penalty and there were 4 quizzes but they were only 5 questions each. Overall, she was a great prof and she was good at what she taught.

Kristin Heineman is a very kind teacher, and it was fun taking her class. She cares about her students and is very ready to help. This was a fascinating course and helped me learn about the history of the roots of my Christian faith. Her knowledge of the Roman context was really helpful as well. Her study abroad class in Rome is also awesome :)

Heineman is excellent, fun, and funny. She teaches interesting material and leaves room for discussion and review even before the two exams with extra credit. She also allows students to turn in drafts for text analyses before they were due. A little disorganized at times but she recovers quickly. I extremely recommend her.

Second class with Dr. H. She's incredibly knowledgeable and her lectures are entertaining. Decent use of tech. Three 5-page papers, 2 exams, 4 quizzes and a few easy graded discussions. You'll do well if you read the material in advance, show up to class, and take decent notes. She's readily available to answer questions and provide advice.

She is very passionate about history and her 100 level course was pretty easy. You just have to read the chapters, take the short quizes, and study (minimal if your reading the chapters) the key words. It's so easy to pass with an A, but also easy to fail if your not reading and attending class. She goes over everything in her lectures.

TAKE HER CLASS. I don't love history classes usually, but her class structure and jokes really helped me get through it easily. As long as you show up, do the work, and care about your own success, the class is a breeze. She is SO FUNNY. She's just the best big lecure professor I've ever had. Highly recommend.

Great teacher! Her fun, relatable lectures help you grasp the concepts easier, and although attendance isn't mandatory, the lectures are what make this class so much fun. She is hilarious and is a really good teacher. However, she doesn't know what cognitive dissonance means. Take this class!

Absolutely amazing professor that clearly shows how much she cares about history. I have never thought that I would enjoy history until I came to her lectures. She builds a strong understanding of what you need to know and does not overwhelm you with work. Take any class with her, you won't regret it.

Online quizzes are easy and through the textbook. 4 in person quizzes but if you go to class she tells you what's on them. 2 exams = 30% of your grade, 1 text analysis= 25% of your grade. Overall very easy to get an A if you try on exams and text analysis. She's also hilarious.

Dr. Heineman is a fantastic professor with a great ability to distill the important parts of history into a digestible and entertaining concoction. This class was on ancient history which is her area of study and her passion for the content is evident. Her online textbook is (unlike others) not a complete nightmare, and is well-written and designed

This was one of the best classes I have ever taken. I learned so much and Professor Heineman does a great job at keeping the lectures engaging. I used to tell my friends that her lectures were like a history-themed comedy special. The class also wasn't too rigorous at all.

Up until now I have avoided history as a school subject, but this class feels like reading a Percy Jackson book, letting me learn the content in such a fun, easy, and natural way. My biggest piece of advice to study would be to create a spreadsheet with all the key terms, update it weekly, and use it to study.

I thought she was alright when I took her class. Compared to most history professors teachers at CSU she's amazing. Great lectures, reasonable grader and likeable person. I recommend taking classes with her as a history major.

Loved this class. Dr. Heineman is hilarious and her lectures are always very engaging.4 papers, the lowest is dropped, not an easy grader on them but she gives great feedback and gives an option for you to submit a draft to her the week before the paper is due.

This was a very solid class, with some amazing lectures. There were 4 papers, the worst one being dropped, 2exams (including the final), 4in-class quizzes, and 4 in-class-graded discussions (but only your attendance is graded). While lecture is optional, study before quizzes, because they can be difficult. Lecture slides posted on Canvas.

Dr. Heineman is fantastic- she is funny, intelligent, genuine, and willing to put in as much effort as you are to succeed. I think there is a moderate work load for a 100 level course (weekly online chapter quizzes, unit quizzes and graded discussions, 2 exams, one big paper), but if you attend class and apply yourself, you'll learn SO much.

Loved loved her. I had a rlly hard semester mentally and she accepted all my late work and was super nice about me being essentially such a slacker & shit student. Despite my performance I learned alot and she rlly cares about you learning & expanding your understanding. And very receptive to newer ideas about history & all questions / perspectives

Kristin is a fantastic professor who makes history engaging and enjoyable. Lectures are lively, and the courseload is manageable if you stay on top of the work. Attendance is key, and using resources like Unstuck AI can really help with exam prep.

This professor has genuinely made me love history. I am a chemistry major and I absolutely did not want to take a HIST 100 class, but I am so glad I did now. She is so engaging and obviously knows what she's talking about. I love coming to her class every day because I know I'll be laughing at one point or another.

She's super passionate about her class and what she teaches. She loves going on semi-related side tangents, sometimes political in nature but mostly about weird beards, that personally I felt like made learning the content a lot more relatable and funny. There's 3 required essays in this class so it's totally doable.

She is literally one of the best teachers I've ever had, she is amazing and makes history interesting and understandable. Im not even a history major and this was my favorite class this semester, I would highly recommend taking this class its amazing!

I loved history with her so much I'm taking another class with her for elective credit even though I am not a history major and used to hate history. She is engaging and tests are easy if you listen well in class.

kristin is awesome and really passionate, funny lectures. her exams are tough and use a lot of info just mentioned in lecture so note taking matters because the slides without lecture are unhelpful. overall awesome though

10/10 professor will work with you to help you succeed in her class and gives the most engaging lectures. Truly such a kind women she let me submit older work because of a health emergency I had earlier in the semester. Not all of the work is easy but nothing is unbearable and if you go to class and pay attention it's very doable. fantastic class.

She's a light to this world. I will miss having class with her every day. She's an angel sent from the heavens. If you hate history-- take it with her and you will end up loving it and learning so much.

I love Dr. Heineman. Shes so passionate about history and it shows through her class. Her lectures are so entertaining but she goes on tangents a lot. The class is pretty easy, with only two not too difficult exams and some essays. She absolutely lives up to her score.

If you are a non history major on the fence about taking this class, take it! Fun class, great professor and it isn't challenging for people with an already heavy course load. She is very sweet and is very clear on her grading.

Her teaching style was very engaging and she had a great personality as well. Her classroom was very enjoyable and her criteria was easy to follow.
