She is a real nice professor. As long as you take the notes from the overhead, you got the direct answers to the test...also its good to study them. She is very helpful..GO CRAZY CAT LADY!! :)

Awesome teacher!!!! She tries to get to know all of her students and she is very helpful. Every day you get to hear another cat story about how they are out to get her. Its awesome! If you get her keep that class.

I did not like this class, but alas it is a req. for the major. However from the terror stories I've heard of other profs. I think I lucked out in getting her. She is a huge dork and proud of it, so she makes class at least tolerable. She'll tell you some pretty funny stories about her cats and son.

So interesting for a big lecture class....she tells some pretty funny stories and she's not afraid to make herself look silly, I missed quite a few classes and sstill got an A- so keep the class if you get her as a teacher!!!

her lectures are straight forward, interesting, and cover the subject well. her tests are super easy, both because she covers what are on them well, and because they are worded clearly. she doesn't throw in questions about things she hasn't covered, or things not on the study guide. there is no comprehensive final, which is also a plus.

she is a really good teacher but gets kinda crazy at times! she makes sure you understand all the concepts that she lectures about and then the tests are very similar to the lectures...easy class

I personally loved the cat stories, and the ridiculous stories about her son. Very clear - makes sure you understand and encourages questions. The class was pretty easy, but I did have to study quite a bit for the tests. She's very funny and I enjoyed being in class!

Dr. Ritchey is THE BEST psych professor! She's a lot of fun and always has a funny story to tell! LOVE IT! Notes are very straight forward, easy to understand, and tests are super easy if you do the study guides. She gives out test questions at the study sessions too!

I absolutely love this prof. She lets you know exactly what information she wants you to know for the exams, and puts the powerpoint notes online. She is hilarious with the stories she tells during class, and always gives examples that relate to us to make the information make sense. Also, the study guides outline the exams exactly!

She's great! I took her 9am class, and it was never boring! Her stories do provide a good break from lecture. She's very energetic, and tells you what exactly on the tests with her study guides. The grading on the writing assignments can be bothersome but the tests are easy. I definitely learned a lot.

The book is necessary if you want an A. In the study guides she makes it easy and lets you know what exactly she wants you to know from the book so take advantage!

Familiarize yourself with the study guides, read the textbook tips and you will definitely get at least a B on all her tests.

This is what taking a class in college should feel like, she makes it SO fun to be there it easily becomes your favorite class! Easy to take notes, and she always posts power points after a lecture. She is always there willing to help. Very entertaining with her "mental" breaks, I would take this class every day if I could!!

Extremely easy tests. We had 5 exams, 1 final, and 8 short handwritten assignments. Very clear and helpful. Sometimes she gets nervous that she explains something incorrectly and says it again. She's a sweet lady and her class is fun to go to (even if it's at 9 am).

I 100% recommend Ritchey, especially if you aren't a psych major. She is a really sweet and intelligent woman. She does everything she possibly can to help you succeed including making her slides available before tests, providing study guides, and telling you literally what paragraphs of the textbook you need to read before an exam. Wonderful prof!

She's the best teacher that I've ever had. She's so much better than other psych profs. She reserves the textbook in the library so you don't have to buy the textbook if you don't want to. All you have to do to get an A is show up in class (the online powerpoint is not very helpful)and do the study guides.

She's very responsive to emails if you need help then too. Attendance not required, although random in-class assignments are giving. Study guides very helpful, never used the book!

Dr. Ritchey is amazing at teaching. Cognitive psychology is a difficult subject matter, but with her teaching it is SO interesting and easy to grasp. She also puts the Cognitive book on reserve at the library, so you do not technically have to purchase. One of my favorite professors in the psych department by far.

Available to meet outside of class to answer any questions. Does not have a specific attendance policy but it helps to be in class. Need the textbook for tests.

Had her for the teaching assistant class and it was all discussion based. there is a one page reflection paper due each class based on the reading assigned. Supper easy shouldn't take long to do. Only an 8 week course and as long as you show up with your assignment finished you'll get an A.

SHE IS AMAZING!! She is very reasonable with her grading and even does things that most teachers don't to help you get an A! Which you should get an A, the study guides are VITAL! The research participation is EASY and the information is not too hard. She gives answers in class, too for the test and final was easiest ever. Super fun and cute, too!

Dr. Ritchey used a lot of powerpoints but made them interesting. Towards the middle of the semester I stopped going (I haven't been in over a month) and I still got a really good grade. You will miss some stuff she mentioned during class but it's only covered on 1 question on the test. GET THE RESEARCH CREDITS DONE EARLY. I would def retake her.

Amazing prof that you can tell really loves her job. Her lectures are clear and to the point, and if you follow the slides with your notes, the tests are an easy A. Textbook is not required as she posts the most important parts from the chapters before each test!

Professor Ritchey is an absolute angel. I love her so much. She is great at explaining material, and doesn't make tests or assignments hard. It is very obvious she cares about her students success. Not too many exams or assignments you just need to pay attention to lecture because that is what tests are based on.

One of the best professors I've had. You can tell she has a passion for psychology and she really does care about students. Take extensive notes and she lets you use them on exams. 4 exams 1 paper. She posts all the lectures, and pages from the textbook with info not taught in class but in the exam. Totally recommend this class with Ritchey.

10/10 I had some technical difficulties with a test and she met with me after class and let me to go over the questions and gave me the points back that I missed due to that! She tells us jokes and gives us a short break in the middle of the lecture which is actually super helpful. I have nothing but great things to say about this wonderful woman.

One of my favorite classes, Dr. Ritchey is clearly interested not only in her subject but also her students! She does so much to make sure everyone is engaged and able to follow along, lectures are easy to understand and exams are open note. Tells us jokes and stories and is so sweet in and out of class. Loved it all and hope I can see her again!

Amazing person! She does give out exams every 2 weeks, but you are allowed to use notes and textbook. Show up to class and take good notes. She's very helpful, so ask for feedback if you're unsure before turning in an assignment.

She is very nice and the tests are exactly like the PowerPoints. You can use your notes on the exams, which are on lockdown browser. There are writing assignments, but they are not graded by her and the grading is sometimes inconsistent. If you talk to her about this, she will go back in and grade it herself. She makes jokes throughout the lecture.

Kristin Ritchey was my favorite psychology professor so far. She is HILARIOUS and outgoing and is really passionate about what she teaches, which makes all the difference. Classes were lecture-heavy, which I usually don't prefer, but she made them so engaging and fun that it was still my favorite class. Her exams are also all open-note yay!!
