Class was good. Professor is very nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend to everyone looking to take intro to stats.
Class was well paced and thorough over content. Professor Seale is very personable and lively which can make the long class time fly by. Majority of homework and chapter quizzes are on My Math Lab. Going to class is a must to understand all the key terms as the 2442 statistics course is vocabulary heavy.
You're better off taking this class online because everything is done on mymathlab or find a different professor if you struggle with algebra. You will hardly learn anything during lecture, she gets off topic easily, and doesn't know the material that well. Other than that she has an awesome personality, very enthusiastic, and funny.
I loved this professor, I wonder how anyone can dislike her for statistics. Her lectures are incredibly thorough and she explains every step of the way. She made basic statistics very easy, and her humor is delightful. Yes assignments are online BUT she teaches in class, not a big deal. She's a great instructor, rest assured.
I took her for College Algebra and she was a great instructor, funny and helpful. Dont miss class and do your homework on time. Study for the tests and you'll be fine.
It seems like the online class. you submit you all things on my math lab, and I hate that app.
Don't get me wrong I think Prof Seale is great but this class is just too much. Way to much homework. Per section of each chapter there is homework and it says 25 questions and each question has like 5 parts so yeah. Way too much work for this class. I also hate mymathlab. Why so much technology? I hate it. Textbook only for access to homework
I needed this class for the credit to transfer to Twu. The class was simple. She explained things pretty well. The homework is on mymathlab there is a lot of questions it's because 1/3 of the homework is vocabulary words plus she writes the vocabulary words on the board every time. To understand the homework you should go to class. She is helpful.
Math is not my strong point, hence the DMAT, but Professor Seale is a good professor. She definitely knows her material very well and there is no hand holding in this class. We're in college and she treats us like so. Ask questions! If someone doesn't understand something she'll go over it again. Yes My Math Lab sucks but that's all classes.
alright but this class is better to take online. her teaching method isnt the best
I took College Algebra with professor Seale last year, she's a really good teacher! Do your homework, study, and reach out for help if you need it. She knows her material, she just gets confused sometimes. Her personality makes a math class less boring, she's really funny. I really do, recommend her.
Don't do it. It is like being in middle school again . She will show you no kindness, sympathy or understanding. Does not care enough to plan test reviews around the actual test and going to class is a waste of time. She teaches the first few problems directly from the book every lesson. Great if you don't want to go to class and teach yourself
She's pretty funny and I like her math shirts. It's alot of work but she gives good handouts that summarize the information. Would take again.
Yes, the majority of the class is on mymathlab and has a lot of questions. That's going to be any class you take though and has nothing to do with the professor. Yes, she gets off topic fairly often but she keeps the class funny and upbeat. If you need help all you have to do is ask and she's very willing to help you figure it out before moving on.
Professor Seale is funny and gets off topic often but she is willing to explain if you don't understand the concep of the class. The testes is 60% of your grade and they are not even similar to the homework nor quiz, they are HARD.
Great professor. Makes the class interesting and even interjects humor sometimes. Her expectations are clear, and she prepares you well for tests. There is a lot of online homework, but it actually helps you be ready for the tests and quizzes and helps boost your grade. She's willing to help you whenever needed. I had to work hard, but I got an A.
Do not take this professor, I beg you in the name of God. She is funny but very tough, I lost my dad but she did not show any kind of support or offer to help with the works I missed, on the final exam I came 3 min late she locked the door and refused to open. Her exams are very difficult, don't take her just don't. Don't take her, don't, don't
Amazing teacher but she gets distracted easily by having conversation with others. She is funny and she will have you laughing throughout the class while teaching the material, but in the end she is still your math teacher and will grade you mostly on your test. The test are pretty difficult because they are nothing like the homework.
Mrs. Seale is an amazing professor who always cares about her students and looks for the easy way to explain each chapter in order to let her students understand.
So much work! The class was only 4 weeks though so it was to be expected. Professor Seal answers questions and emails really quick. I appreciate that!
Great teacher and a fun class! This is the first College Algebra class that I have taken in which I have actually learned something. (Failed 3 times).
She gets off topic a lot, is funny but mostly at the expense of at least one student per class. Acts like a middle school teacher, not a college teacher. Makes you feel dumb for not understanding something and doesn't like re-explaining. Tons of quizzes, tests are nothing like quizzes or homework. I do not recommend taking this class with her. READ
This is the best instructor to use for this class, She will explain to make you feel that you make it. She does the review for the test which I found very useful. she requires your participation. she gives Extra credits and If you ask her homework questions she will definitely reply. I would recommend taking this course with her. Good luck
Her test are hard and the way she reviews for a test is pointless. When asked about when a test is due she just replays with its on your course calendar when she could just say the date. Gets off topic very easily and is very forgetful. Her class feels like a high school course. She complicates things that should be simple. Take someone else please
Great Professor, lectures are never boring, and time will fly in this class. Do your homework, attend the lectures, and study your material and you will have no issues in passing her class.
She made pre-calculus not seem daunting. Class was always enjoyable and she is very generous with giving out extra credit points. She also covers everything pretty well in a clear manner. This class is totally doable, however it does require work. In the end I felt very accomplished with everything we did in the summer term!
My class was online. I work alot so her course was perfect. She gives you all the due dates up front so you can plan your time out, no pop quizzes or surprise assignments. Just a straight forward course. Lots of homework but pearson is a big help. I emailed her once and she emailed me back super quick.
I hate math but I love Professor Seale!! I've taken college algebra 2 times before at Brookhaven but the way she explains it it makes sense. Her jokes are so corny but they make class fly by. Thank GOD I don't have to take another math class!!!
I took this online class 8 weeks only course. It was great lost of homework but it was expected. No need to buy book just buy the access code(comes with an ebook) don't fall back or you will feel overwhelmed. She's nice thru emails I recommend her online class.
Took her online for an 8 week course and it was horrible. She would make 8 lessons with a quiz and a test due right when the class started which was impossible to get done that fast. Her tests were hard and her reviews had nothing to do with the tests. She was horrible and wasnt willing to help. Do not take her class if you need to pass math.
Prof. Seale is straight-forward and knows her stuff! Everything is broken down to the chapter and section - it is too easy to stay on track in her class. Also, she offers a different way of explaining concepts than what was presented in the book. I've already registered for another course with her. Gem of a Professor!
Her test are hard and the way she reviews for a test is pointless. When asked about when a test is due she just replays with its on your course calendar when she could just say the date. Gets off topic very easily. Her class feels like a high school course. She complicates things that should be simple. Take someone else please
I took her for stats and the class is fine. As long as you do all of the extra credit she provides you will be fine. I can't stress this enough DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT. This is what saved me from failing this class. Stats is not an easy subject that you just understand by a lecture. Many outside youtube and kahn academy videos helped me.
horrible
take someone else please
So honestly, follow the syllabus, do your work and you will be good. Its not that hard as some have suggested. don't need a book, just show up to class. She grades fair and GIVES TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT! She teaches well and gives you the grade deserved. would take her again.
Hand outs are good and easy to follow. She is straight foward and expectation are clear. Offers a lot of Xtra credit. Failed class but plan to take her again.
Prof. Seal always took time to walk around and work with us individually. It really helped me to understand the curriculum. A few times I had to come by her office during office hours because I was really having a tough time. She was very patient and even worked the problems out with me. Very fun classroom environment.
Actually enjoyed going to class. Kept things fun.
I took Professor Seale for college algebra, Trig, then PreCalc. I really wish she taught Calculus. I'm taking it now at a different college and this guy is so bad. So boring! I miss her
It is not an easy class but Professor Seale is one of those professors who make everything look easy and fun. She is an awesome teacher. Homework is a lot but if you go with her calender then it is an easy A.
Professor Seale is so cool. MML kept having technical issues and she didn't make it worse. She was really flexible and answered my emails super quick. I'd def take her again.
Mrs. Seale was super funny, and if another student had any questions, she'd address the whole class so that that question could be universally answered. She was quirky and had fun hair. She explained concepts that I hadn't understood in the past a lot more clearly.
A professor who actually likes to teach the material, she is wonderful and really funny; makes the class interesting and worth attending.
She is an amazing person over all, but a tough grader. Her quizzes are timed but she gives extra credit. You have to work extremely hard for your grade. Attendance is mandatory if you want extra credit.
This teacher should find a new career, she is absolutely HORRIBLE! She acts nice but she sucks at teaching. You pretty much have to teach yourself and even then you will be lucky to make a 50% on a test. Almost everyone from my class withdrew the class and the last 7 who stayed I know half of them failed. She is just ridiculously bad!
This was my first online class and I was terrified when I saw the reviews posted here. However, since I'm great at math, this class was super easy. She is very clear and very straight with the deadlines. I would highly recommend taking notes of every lesson, it will help you on your final which btw is not hard, but it's also not easy.
Huh, I would NEVER EVER take her again feels like she doesn't like her job. Just wants to talk about everything except syllabus material if you are not good at math(TRIG) do not even think abt taking her. Or get ready to fail a lot of homework I am good at math, so I made it to A credit goes to my practice and some stems center will never take her
Open book teacher she knows her stuff but students struggle to solve equations nop. Not taking again "don't wanna ruin my calculus class" not suggested
Very straight forward with expectations and deadlines. The material can be difficult when taking it online, but that is to be expected. There are plenty of resources to help anyone be successful if the MyStatLab isn't helpful. Professor was quick to respond to any concerns.
This class was harder than I expected but Prof Seale is very knowledgeable. She gives lots of extra credit. If I had not done it I wouldn't have gotten a A. I'm taking her for calculus in the Fall.
I actually attend UT and just needed a stats course for my degree. This professor was really good about responding to my emails quickly. I had some questions but not alot. There's alot of homework but every assignment is laid out to follow so its organized. Best online class if you're far away
Prof. Seale is an amazing professor. She gives alot of extra credits. She cares about her students and wants all of her students to get a good grade. During the class she visits each student and helps them with their problem if they need it. She is also a very good trigonometry(Math1316) professor and I also took her for trig. I would recommend her
Very very difficult tests, basically you will need to teach yourself. I would not recommend taking this class with this professor... Half of my group dropped, consider yourself lucky passing with C +.
This class was so easy. Professor Seale is really nice and emails back super fast. So fast paced but it was in the summer and I still got an A!
I wish had known better when I started cause I really struggled on the first test. I tried the Hub but the tutor in there is kinda rude. When I emailed Mrs. Seale she met me at campus and it was like night and day. We met 4 times total and I got an A on the final. I never thought that could happen. She was very helpful and I would take her again.
Im currently taking this professor. Her reviews arent good. She wont put in effort to help you on a review for a test. She just gives you a bunch a questions to find online and do it yourself. Most professor take their time to show you how to do each problem carefully in class. She will just let you do them on your own without any help.
Lot of extra credit. Problem solving tools is provided but have to teach yourself how to apply and use them. Cramp a lot of materials in one session. Higher level math, requires thinking time to understand so won't pass unless you spend twice as much time outside of classroom getting help understanding the material given in class. DON'T Recommend.
The class is challenging but prof Seale makes is fun and cares about her students!
I LOVE PROFESSOR SEALE. SHE DOESN'T OVERLOAD U W/HMWK BUT IT CAN BE TOUGH IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR W/STATISTICS. HER WEBCAST ARE INTERESTING, SHE FUNNY AND DOWN TO EARTH. I RECOMMEND HER BIG TIME. 1 GROUP PROJECT. SHES ALSO UNDERSTANDING.
She's a good teacher, caring and inspiring. I enjoyed her class.
I took both her trig and calculus classes. In, calculus you'll run into a lot of frustrations from not understanding the concept. Personally I had to seek help outside of the class to understand class lecture. However, she is always available in her office for questions. She cares for her students! I am surprised how far I've come in a semester.
She is a good professor and i would recommend her. She gives out alot of extra credit opportunities. Her class is hard, so i had to find help outside her class.
I have taken Prof. Seale for Trig, Calculus, and now Linear Algebra. All these classes are hard. She make sure we understand it and have a good foundation to move forward. She understands our struggles and is right there to help. I am so thankful to be in her classes, couldn't possibly ask for a better teacher.
All college level math are hard. I took her for trig couple semesters ago. I took for a couple more classes after that. She is by far the most caring professor! She want you to succeed. She made the class really fun to attend. It's still the old saying, you reap what you sow. Show her you put in the effort, and you will have a good time and grades!
Professor Seale gave amazing lectures. There is a lot of opportunity for extra credit so make sure you review the syllabus and see what you need to do to get extra points. There was a lot of homework composed of 10 chapters. 3 proctored tests and 1 take at home exam. There was also 1 project so I would recommend to take the 15 week over the 8 week
OK so most of this is not her fault, STATS online is just horrible altogether. SHE WAS very accessible outside of class and would even log in and meet you one on one!
DO not rely on the other reviews, she did NOT give ANY extra credit all semester but she will work with you one on one.
She DOES NOT teach unless you get to zoom her one on one, but she will give you resources to teach your self the class and expects that to be good enough we literally only did MY MATH LAB and nothing more. SHe does not log in and do live streaming for the class as a whole watch she also does not post lecture videos.
Horrible! She goes off topic for non important reasons rather than teach then always complains that there is no time when she is the one wasting it. Everyone dreads going to her class, its depressing. You basically have to teach yourself in her class, she only has good reviews bc she says we should give her one. Never again, please stop teaching!!
Be aware of a lot of homework (lol). She is actually hilarious and very sweet! She did provide extra credit (by attending one of her live study sessions every week). Yet, she did cancel the live discussions during the middle of the semester, which was a big disappointment. I did have to go to someone for help because the material is very hard.
I learn math fast, but only succeed if I don't lose my roll. I was going extra far ahead on MyMathLab homework and had questions, and Seale agreed to see me in office hours. When I got there, she refused to answer my questions because it was "too advanced for where we are." I'm going to minor in mathematics out of spite just so I'm smarter than her
Professor seems to be casual (good thing) but has been going off-topic numerous times during lectures. Also not all the topics are reviewed in class so you sometimes would have to learn by yourself.
She does not curve, so keep up with any and all points earned. Does not respect those who work when setting up webcast online.
The professor is very straight forward. All homework is required when taking this course. Good luck
Attendance is mandatory and it's a part of your grade. There are quizzes that you cannot make up if you miss class even if you have an excuse. She teaches pretty well but does not go over everything that shows up on the homework. You can't see your grade on blackboard, she only adds your final grade onto econnect at the end of the semester. No EC
Professor Seale is an excellent educator. However, I had difficulty keeping up because you had to listen and write notes at the same time. I wish she used PowerPoints for notes. In addition, she only let exams be open for three days, and I sometimes couldn't make the time to take them.
Always goes off-topic, do not recommend it. She likes to put a lot of the blame on students rather than see what she can change to help them out. She is very exam and homework-heavy and shows few examples.
Professor Seale is a very enjoyable person to teach you a class. She knows her stuffl. The quizzes are in person at the beginning of class and its only trig stuff, no retakes if you miss any. No reviews for tests because she states that you are responsible for learning all of the material through multiple units and not just study whats on the test.
She is more worried about her ego and accomplishments than her classes. She was strict, not empathetic, not flexible, and did not use the best teaching tools she could use.
I would recommend it to anyone, especially people who've never taken a stats class. She made the stats very understandable. There is a good amount of homework, so don't procrastinate. Study for your quizzes and tests, and you'll get an A in the class.
For Calc 1, be ready for 60 percent tests and 20 percent quizzes, with a 20 percent final. Teacher gives out a fair bit of extra credit. Trust me, pay attention to the syllabus, pay attention in class and take good notes, do all the required and recommend homework, and get an A.
Funny and enjoyable to talk to. Not a good teacher. Teaching skills are not there, quizzes are given every week with nothing she has taught us about, gives no grace to students. Complains a lot and blames it on the students.
Difficult course but Seale set us up for success. Tests and quizzes are based off hw and the final is based off tests. She will enthusiastically answer all your stupid questions. Her energy in the classroom is great, made math an interesting challenge. Best teacher I've encountered at BHC by far.
The teacher was off-topic sometimes during important teaching moments. Sometimes, during math class, she would over-complicate something by introducing a math concept from a different level of math. Also, she randomly mentioned how she's not confident in teaching math1325. Also, doesn't believe in test reviews. A lot of hw get on top of it.
This professor has been very helpful in understanding algebra. She gave us extra credit for going to tutoring which made me feel comfortable with tutoring. Overall I thank her for giving me academic structure.
She is strict and not very effective at teaching. She doesn't seem to have much empathy or understanding for students' situations, and her expectations are often unreasonable. The workload is excessive, and the assignments feel more like busywork. Having an exam on the very last day of the semester also felt disorganized. I don't recommend.
Professor Seale is very enjoyable in class but I can't say she's a good teacher. The workload is heavy and feels very rushed. According to the syllabus she included several optional topics, which makes things like the chapter we covered in about a week feel all the more frustrating. Grades are 70% from tests and she doesn't believe in reviews.
She's super fun, but sometimes it gets in the way of learning, so many of us were confused on the homework. I wouldn't recommend her if you rely too much on lectures. She always has a great attitude and is always cracking jokes! I enjoyed her class!
