The most patient teacher ever! Despite how helpful and understandin' she is in class, you can also connect with her on a personal level outside of class. In addition, most of us still keep in touch with her after the quarter is over! Good teacher to have!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE TEACHERS. She is soo nice and soo helpful. She makes her class fun and interesting and is very clear with her directions. I enjoyed taking her class very much. And you will too!

Skager was by far my favorite teacher. Her class is so easy. If you want a class where you have to do 10 hours of reading each weak, then this is not the teacher for you. Pick her if you want a kick back class!

i highly recommend her. shes really easy, cares about her students and makes class fun. pretty kickback. Guarenteed A if u give somewhat of an effort. The was take home and some people didnt even turn it in and still passed.

I had a situation that I couldn't come to class, but she understood talked with me and allowed me to make-up the work for that time. I would love if she taught other classes I need. Shes so sweet, understanding and kind. Shes one of the best professors you will ever get at De Anza. No homework, projects are 7th grade style, tests are take home, no books. She treats us more as she is our friendly mother, easy A.

DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! She's amazing, super easy work, a lot of group work during class and barely anything to turn in. This class is a discussion class and she totally has everyone's attention. She makes you sound like you are so smart, she values everyone's opinions. One of my favorite classes at De Anza. Its a pass no pass. she will bend over to help anyone struggling to pass. Very helpful teacher. Had her in a impacted class, alot of group work; easy content. Would recommend 10/10. There were alot of internationals in the class, so I felt disenfranchised from fluent english speakers.

Kristin is one of the best instructors I've had at De Anza! She really cares for her students and was very kind. There's a lot of reading, but it's all worth it. There's also a lot of group work which was interestingly fun :) This was probably my fav class, so sad that it came to an end. Wish she taught 1A as well!

Kristen was one of the most nicest professors I've ever had af De Anza. She deeply cares about all of her students. I can honestly say because of her, I've deeply improved in my reading skills. Readings are very reasonable and understandable, gives many extra credit opportunities. I hope to take another class taught by her in the future.

I struggled with understanding the previous quarter and dropped , but Kristin is the best. If you dont understand she will help you outside class, and is quick in responding emails. Just like everything else you must work hard for it as well . I would take her if she taught 2A

She is a really nice teacher and helped me a lot. BUT to be honest, I STRUGGLED A LOT in her class. IT is SOO HARD to get an A, especially for International students whose english is not their first language. I got an A in her class but I swear I worked SO HARD to get it! If you want an A, make sure to see her after class and let her read ur essay.

She's a good teacher for first year students! She made me feel more at ease about college and made sure I was doing good in school and outside of school. There are very rare teachers here at DA that makes you feel your worth.

The topics covered in this class changed my life. It was a 5 week summer quarter and we read Trevor Noah's Born a Crime (funny yet insightful - AMAZING book!), a number of short essays and articles, weekly discussions, and had 3 papers to write. The topics were relevant & engaging; social issues, happiness, etc. Her feedback is detailed & specific.

There are three major essays and we were given enough time for each of them. She offers thorough feedback for almost every essay and assignment which made it easy to improve my writing. She is super nice and I enjoyed reading Born a Crime. It's easy to ask her for help if you need it.

Amazing Professor, prob the best one I have had. She grades semi-tough, but if she sees the passion behind your work she will give you credit. She is very well respected by the class and is extremely chill. Highly advise taking this Professor for anyone looking to take any English course.

Professor Skager is a very kind and supportive professor who made me feel welcome in her class. The workload was stressful at times, but she gave out good feedback and was very encouraging.

Greatest professor I have ever had. Super nice and caring for her students, overall she holds all the character traits that are good in both a teacher and a person. She does have quite a few assignments, but she is a lenient grader as long as she spots effort put into the assignment. I was never an english guy but I still excelled in this class.

Professor Skager gives great feedback on all assignments with a clear grading criteria. While there is a 10-page essay for the final, there are multiple weeks in advance to prepare and she broke up the outline, rough draft, etc. into digestible assignments. There is a class theme and book about "disruption", personally I wasn't intrigued by it.
