if you WORK full time or have obligations to other things she will not work with you. she does tend to focus on feministic view points if you over look that she does speak points on other things. here test are very hard and study guide are not her thing. She is an amazing prof she is funny, intresting and loves her field. She wants everyone to succeed, but she will NOT beg you to do the work, she gives you the tools and you must use them. Do not take her class if you are close minded. Race plays a big part in her course as well as equal rights.

Mrs. Williams is unapologetic in her intelligence and logic.If you're not into critical thinking and scientific evidence then don't take her class, or go to college for that matter.Feminism is about men/women being EQUAL.(but I digress)Williams will challenge you to think like a sociologist and question the status-quo. There are few classes that actually interest me, most i just take pass and not care about ever again, but she is very enthusiastic about her field and this lead me to take a second course with her. The class requires work but if you are open minded will you can gain new perspectives on daily life and interpersonal relationships.

Ms Williams if hard, fair, intelligent, and willing to work with you. If you make the effort to ask for help she is accommodating. Be open minded with your approach to Sociology, do readings and you will do fantastic in her classes. AND FOR THE ONES WHO SAY SHE TREATS MALES DIFFERENTLY, I AM A MALE.

Ms. Williams is a great instructor. She cares about teaching and wants you to learn. She'll help you if you need it. You will work hard. She will challenge you. This course teaches things you won't learn anywhere else. When you succeed, you'll feel like you've really accomplished something, and you'll be better prepared for more difficult courses.

Best class I've ever taken. Period. Loved the material, the teacher, and the way she taught. Everyone would benefit from taking this class. Ms. Williams does an awesome job of making students think (so its not a piece of cake) but you learn the material and I think I'm actually a better person because of this class. It's that legit.

Mrs Wiliams is one of the best teachers out there! Its a must take class She loves teaching and has a great passion for her subject. She tell things how it is and does not sugarcoat anything which is refeshing and some people have a hard time dealing with that. When taking her class having an open mind is a must. Prepare to work and study hard!

Professor Williams is passionate about sociology and about teaching her students, she's engaging and there was a lot of active discussion. It was a pleasure to learn from her. She's no push over and expects her students to really learn the materials and understand them, not just memorize them. Expect to do a lot of short answer essay questions.

I am not sure how you can take a professor seriously when they have a rather large and visible tattoo right below their right ear on their neck. Not to mention she is very young. She also gave the impression that she is a man-hater. I will agree that she is very passionate about sociology, but I am not. Expect to do lots of work in this class.

Greatest. Teacher. Ever! No words could ever describe how amazing and inspiring of a person that K. Williams is. She is such an insanely awesome teacher, I would take classes with her all day if I could. She is my hero.

This is not an easy class by any stretch of the imagination, however its a great one. You will learn a lot as long as you're open minded. With that said, i wouldn't recommend this class for anyone who is bitter, narrow-minded, or is not willing to give 100% of their effort. Mrs. Williams is a fantastic teacher who sparked my interest in sociology.

Taking this class would probably be the best decision you'll ever make in life. You're definitely going to have to work your butt off, but trust me at the end it will be so worth it. I wouldn't think twice about enrolling in another one of Ms.Williams classes. Also, don't be scared if half of your class drops out after the midterm :)

Amazing teacher is one of the rare people in world that has the passion to make others passionate about things. A truly wonderful teacher who holds her students to high standards. Ms. Williams is breath of fresh air at Wake Tech. She has broadened my view of the world all while making class fun and enjoyable. She doesn't take BS, she will challenge your mind, and getting an A in this class is extremely hard. But what you walk away with is more important than the grade. The world would be a better place if everyone took this class from this teacher! This is a crash course on the major "elephants in the room" that we see every day but no one talks about. It also gives you tools so that you can find truth and deeper meaning in everything around you. Ms. Williams is professional but fun, expects a lot but is cool.

Why this class is "hard": You have to read a 30-50pg chapter each week. You have to take good notes as you read because she gives pop quizzes that can ask about specific topics from the reading - the definitions alone will not cut it. You also have to "know" the material for the tests - study for understanding rather than memorizing.

Very entertaining class.. she know her subject well and is very passionate. NOT an easy A.. her grades are definitely earned.

Ms Williams is definitely knowledgeable and enthusiast about her class. Be ready for each class as far as reading the textbook material ahead of time and do your homework. Her quizzes are not hard if you prepare a summary of the main concepts in the chapter of the day. Tests are definitely challenging, but reasonable. She is a great instructor!

The grade that you receive in this class is only dependent on what you do to receive it. You will read, study, take notes, and know the material. You are tested only on your comprehension of the material, not simple memorization. Quite possibly the most knowledgable teacher I have ever had. Work hard and you will pass and learn a lot.

Professor Williams is passionate and inspiring. Everyone should be required to take one of her classes! Read the chapters, take notes, and listen and you will do fine! I took intro with her, and came back for Social Problems. She's loves her work and is serious about her profession. I've never seen a more passionate professor. The class will kick your butt, but it's worth it, and she'll help you understand concepts if you just ask. Worth the work (and you HAVE to work). Turned my world upside down in a good way.

This class is NOT easy, but it is TOTALLY worth it! My advice...STUDY, make sure you are familiar with the material, and pay attention during the lectures. Ms Williams will challenge you, but she is also very helpful and wants to see her students do well. You will leave this class with better academic skills and a new perspective on life!!

Ms. Williams is a great teacher. I learned quite a lot in this class. My views are somewhat informed and unconventional and I was on board with her from the first moment. If you are a more close minded type, I could see you having some trouble accepting her instruction, but that is your responsibility, not hers. Quite a bit of reading.

My favorite college professor! She is interesting, smart and very passionate about sociology. Was interested during every lecture and it made me want to come to class! You have to do your work to do well in this class and she makes you think! Loved this class!

By far, the greatest teacher I've ever had in my life. It is very rare for a teacher to make students want to hear what he/she has to say and then apply it to real life situations. She is intelligent in her field and is humorous and bright.

After completing all three of Ms. Williams' courses, I can definitively say that she is the best professor I've ever had. I envy the next wave of students coming after me about to embark on an amazing experience. She will not hold your hand, she will not coddle you. She is tough. And she is worth it. Take her courses. This class is no joke but if you can stick it out after the midterm you can pass. She's funny and informative but take the class seriously or you'll get steam rolled but the tests. STUDY!

Don't take this teacher if you're not willing to challenge yourself. Book reading is essential, pop quizzes are a constant threat, and the midterms are failed by many. Even so, Ms. Williams is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. Her lectures and class discussions were engaging. I learned so much, and I actually looked forward to class.

One of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. That's not to say it was easy or that I wasn't uncomfortable at times. Ms Williams takes teaching a bit outside the box and makes her students think and understand the world in a different way. Learning was fun.

Ms. Williams made the information crystal clear. That doesn't mean she makes it EASY! She makes you think and WORK for your grade. Do not expect to just sit in class and not be a part of the discussion. It's impossible. She will draw you in and you will enjoy the class. BUT YOU WILL WORK!

This class is hard as hell! Especially for people who are procrastinators. You definitely need to pay attention and STUDY FOR EXAMS. The content is interesting, but you really need to review the material to understand it well enough to apply it.

Awesome teacher! The class is pretty hard and she doesn't take kindly to people not doing homework or sleeping in her class. There are no easy A's. But I learned quite a lot and each day I felt I was learning worthwhile things that I will always remember, not just facts to regurgitate for the exam and then forget.

Ms. Williams starts off day one saying that this class will not be easy. If you want an A you're definitely going to have to work at it. That being said, she is there mainly to help her students. She'll help you out with anything you don't understand, just be sure to read the book first. She also doesn't put up with any B.S. Come to class prepared.

Ms.Williams does a great job of getting the major points across during the class however much of the in depth material is left up to you to read from the book. I love the open end of the class however do not the informal nature of the class make you any less prepared for the tests.

Take this class. It is probably the best offered at Wake Tech. It will make you a better student and a more knowledgeable person. Ms. Williams is THE hardest professor i've had so far. I enjoy her lectures and she really is an awesome professor and you will likely love going to her class, but the enjoyability of the class is a double edged sword. You are expected to know Everything. The book is almost never expressly used in class, you are expected to learn on your own.

this is not like any other class you will take. Williams is the best teacher I have ever had and she makes you think! not an easy A and she will tell you that the second that class starts. DO YOUR READINGS! she doesn't baby her students and you'll never look at the world the same again once you leave that class.

Do ALL the reading, there's a lot, and you'll do fine in the class. Thought the material was very interesting and the teacher is very passionate about it. If you are tired of living in the superficial bubble that is modern America, take this class and step out of the Matrix. But as a warning: once you have taken the red pill, there is no going back even after the class is over. Oh, and expect 4-6 readings per week + two books (each book needs to be read in the span of one week).

A lot of articles to read for each class, but the information is great and she knows her stuff...just don't take it with a full load

By far the best teacher at Wake Tech. Granted, she isn't easy, but that's what makes the course so satisfying. Enjoyed every single class and found the class extremely interesting. It was refreshing seeing a teacher who is actually looking to teach and not to give easy As. I don't have enough words to express how much better of a teacher she is.

Ms. almost Dr. Williams is a phenomenal instructor. Not only does she have a passion for her subject but she instills it in her students. I honestly feel like I would be missing something important and beautiful if I had not partaken in this course. She is not the most godawful woman, she is a goddess. Take it as you will, just as you will life.

Ms Williams is a really amazing teacher whose main goal is to truly teach students information that will stay in our minds and also apply towards situations appropriate. If you want a challenge, she is the right teacher to go to. If not, then you should just go take a random class.

She's clearly very passionate about teaching and about the material so it makes even a difficult subject matter seem easy to grasp and relevant. Don't let her appearance fool you though, she'll bust your chops if you don't pay attention. Very relaxed and casual classroom setting and classes are very conversation driven.

Ms. Williams is an amazing professor. She is passionate, open-minded and incredibly knowledgeable about more than sociology but about LIFE! This class is not easy and requires a lot of reading and application. This was my favorite class I have ever taken and the proudest C I have ever earned! Thanks Ms. Williams...you're awesome!

she was a phenomenal teacher! but it was a very hard class. you have to work your butt off if you want an A. One of the first teachers i've met who actually are doing their job the right way. That's what throws everyone off. She's an example of what teachers should be like. Expect to learn a lot and have a different outlook on life.

Dr. Williams is an amazing professor! She gives great examples to the concepts and theories and makes the class a very fun environment to be in. However definitely do the reading and do not procrastinate on assignments. She does not take late homework.

This is how a college course should be taught. Do not take this course hoping for an easy A though, because you won't get it. You have to work for the grade you get, and you get the grade you earn, no exceptions. That being said, even if you fail, this course will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Dr. Williams is superb. THIS COURSE SHOULD BE MANDATORY EVERYWHERE.

Dr.Williams class is awesome! I honestly loved the class but underestimated the difficulty. The class is so interesting but requires a lot of hard work and study, especially through the book. This is the only class I've taken that I didn't want to end. Every time I walked in to the class I was eager to learn more. Dr. Williams is a phenomenal, hilarious, and passionate professor. Very educating and enlightening class, I'd recommend it to everyone to try and take it, it isn't the easiest class around but it teaches a lot and has you thinking in a way no other class will.

Dr Williams is everything a professor should be. Her class is NOT EASY. Do not take her class thinking you can get a grade padder. Take her class if you really want to learn something and are willing to put forth the effort for the grade. Her class can be so much fun as long as you can follow her guidelines.

While it may be hard at times to understand the reality of societal problems, Dr. Williams knows exactly what she is doing and is an amazing teacher to help open your eyes to these problems. Be sure not to approach this class with a close-minded perspective, and make sure you do the readings, as those are important for discussions and for exams.

BEST teacher I have ever had at Wake Tech. She is the first teacher to ever challenge me and the first to make me wanna show up to class everyday. She is TOUGH and can seem mean at times, but she cares about all her students. She taught me so many life lessons I can take with me when I leave this school. She is caring & brilliant!

Keep it mind she focuses on the inequality side of race and this class requires a lot of reading! Read the articles and study and you should be fine. And you will learn so much!

Dr. Williams is a firebrand in the best possible way. Her knowledge of the material can be intimidating, but she isn't inhuman or unapproachable. She speaks clearly and powerfully. She has NO tolerance for BS or slacking. If you want to be treated like an adult, with expectations like what you would experience at a four-year university, pick her.

If you are looking for an easy A,sorry this is not the class for you. She is a tough grader, what you get is what you deserve but she is a great instructor. She will challenge you to bring out the best in you. Her lectures are hilarious, you must have CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS to pass her class,Good luck.

She is by far my favorite instructor. Besides being total eye candy, she is able to connect with her students very well. She completely changed my outlook on the world and I would definitely recommend her class to everyone. She will be real with you however her tests are a little challenging. Nothing too hard if you participate in class.

Kristen Williams is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. She's very connectable, because she acts like a teenagercollege student in most regards. She curses, she is very engaging while lecturing, but she is very different from any other professor I've ever had. If you are easily offended, this isn't for you. Very relatable, 1010, tough.

I find Dr. Williams to be extremely compassionate in her work. Most certainly has tough exams, but she keeps it very real up front and YOU actually have to do the work and readings. But she genuinely is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Has her facts and proof and she can change everything you thought you ever knew. LOVES Her Some Jeff!

I think this course has changed the way I see and interact with people on a daily basis. Yes, she makes students work for their grades, but she teaches you to be what a college student should be while exposing you to information others will never dare to. I highly recommend this course.

Best instructor I've ever had. The only assignments are a few quizzes, the midterm and final, a 3 page paper, and the occasional homework assignment. A small workload but you MUST take good notes and read the book.

While she's one of the more tougher professors I've hever had, she knows what she's talking about and she's very passionate about it, so respect that. Just show up for class and be prepared to learn and you'll probably do fine. Everything is in the syllabus, so check that before you ask her any questions. I promise you it's all there.

A University course at a community college. The midterm mean was 68% with about 15 of 200 students receiving actual passing marks (70 and above). A curve was not applied but there was a review assignment, which was worth up to 10% extra towards the midterm. Test focused on application and understanding of concepts rather than definitions.

It's not easy but she will help you if you need it. She is funny and very down to earth. I had a great time, I might even take her class on race if I can get the money.

Dr. Williams did an excellent job teaching my Intro to Sociology class. She is funny and chill, but takes things very seriously. Her courses are challenging, but incredibly rewarding.

Dr. Williams was a brilliant and passionate teacher. She provided readings but in most cases they were unfortunately very long. With the readings came the "Pop Quiz Master". Besides that she has enlighten me on how corrupt and awful the world is with various social problems. She is a really down to earth teacher and highly recommend!

This is a course for those who actually want to learn something. The material is interesting, practical, and presented in an excellent way. Unlike other classes, Dr. Williams challenges you. Upon taking her course, you will either become a better student or fail. My suggestion for anyone who takes this course is to READ THE CHAPTERS (it helps).

Professor William's sociology class is the most interesting class I have ever taken. Her lectures are always so funny and her examples are super helpful in learning the material. There is never a dull moment with that class. If you pay attention, respect her policies, follow the directions, and read you should be fine.

I personally really enjoy her. The class is pretty straight forward, and is easy if you keep up, read, and study. I say that because that is what I lacked. I didn't apply myself as well before the midterm. But nailing down, I realize I just need to read and keep up more. JUST paying attention in class isn't enough. No matter how interesting it is.

Dr. Williams is the most amazing teacher I have ever had! She is an incredibly tough teacher but if you truly do NOT understand she will work with you. Only two tests the whole semester. Lots of readings. If you do not do the readings you will NOT pass the class.

Awesome teacher that definitely makes you work for your grade. Definitely read, read, read! There is a lot of critical thinking on the mid-term and you have to know your stuff. I wish I could take more of her classes that are offered.

This professor teaches with vigor that it left me in awe. I enjoyed it without regret and with praise. She suggested boxing to me and her approach to empower students and faculties. She rekindles my fire that I miss since starting college. Lastly, she helped find purpose in education, and be accounted for our responsibility in our action.

I really enjoyed this class because she made lectures interesting and at the same time fun. I recommend that if you are not committed to working hard to not even take this class. If your grade is very low after the midterm you should consider dropping it because it is very hard to being it up especially if you are planning on not studying.

This was the best class I've taken at Wake Tech. If I could have paid more for it, I would have. It was a challenging class, but a class can't be useful if it's not. Dr. Williams is a great teacher.

Bottom line: if you can, take this or some other course taught by Dr. Williams. You will learn a lot and have fun in the process. You will have to do some work but it is well worth it. I will take another if I can work it in.

Her class was interesting and clear. There were short answer questions and essay questions. Test grading criteria was not clarify. I still cannot understand what she was looking for. She says she is tough grader, but actually she's not. She will not give you a feedback.

Dr. Williams is the best professor that I've had in my college career. The reason is simple- She's real. She isn't politically correct, she is just correct. If you need to take a Sociology at Wake Tech, make an effort to take it with Dr. Williams. She changed my outlook on the world and I like it. You will too. She isn't easy, but it's worth it.

Dr. Williams Very passionate, her transparency serves as a great vehicle for easing what could prove to be a very tense and entrenched dialogue. I would certainly take any class that she was teaching. If I had one constructive critique I would suggest there be some type of rubric & possible topics provided as a guide to prepare for exams

I took Soc 210 with Professor Williams at Wake Tech North Campus in the Fall of 2015. Be warned she is intimidating on the first day saying 50 % of you will drop after midterm and you must work for a C in her class. These are very true but so long as you study you should have no problem getting a B minus. Great lectures and no sugar coating++++

Professor Williams is the best teacher I have ever had. She tries to help her students reach for a realistic goal as an adult and makes her class hard so you actually learn the information rather than using memorization. I would definitely recommend her if you want to take sociology.

Dr. Williams is tough, she works hard to give quality education rather than "teaching for a test". She's a very inspirational person, and passionate about what she teaches. She gives the best lectures out of any other professor I've had throughout college. I could listen to her lecture forever. She gives out random pop quizzes. You have to make sure you do the reading. Her ultimate goal is to get you university ready. Her class will not be the easiest class you will take at Wake Tech. She makes you work for it.

I absolutely hated Ms. W when I started SOC 210. But then again, I was very conservative and biased in my thinking. But she was Relentless in her lectures; not delicate, but more "going to beat the truth into you" type of way. Her lectures had a huge impact on my life in a positive way. I went from failing to passing once I put in the effort.

Dr. Williams is a great teacher and her lectures are amazing. Her class is no joke, she doesn't collect late work, she doesn't remind you when things are due, and she expects you to have read the readings before class begins. It is NOT an easy class you really have to work for your grade. Not many homework and quiz assignments.

TAKE HER CLASS, YOU WON'T REGRET ITA great professor, and very passionate about her job. She grades tough but I mean that's what college is all about, right? Be ready to learn knew things about yourself and be sure to have an open mind. She is very up front and honest about everything and that's one thing that made her class different that others.

She is a little scary and very intimidating but when I actually talked to her outside of class she was very nice and helpful. She explains things very well. I found that you should focus on the power points and her explanation of the slides rather than the textbook. Write down what she says as she goes over PowerPoints.

Dr. Williams is a great sociology professor and criminologist! At first I was signed up for another professor but walked into class the first day to find that the professors had been switched for our section. This turned out to be for the best! She encourages students to use their brains, so take her if you don't want to think like a robot lol.

Doctor Williams was a phenomenal teacher. She tends to throw quite a few curse words during lecture it never takes away from what you learn. Always willing to have class discussion and answer questions when asked during lecture. I would take her class all over again just for the fun of it to be completely. This is my second class with Dr. Williams. She's absolutely amazing and really, genuinely cares for her students and for what she teaches. She's the only teacher I have ever had who actually tells it like it is, which is what a teacher should do. She's inspirational, she's tough, she's hilarious, and she will teach you so much.

I cannot stress how great Dr. Williams is. I felt so much emotion in that classroom every. single. day. I was so freaking scared to talk to her at first because she's so amazing and intimidating all in one but she is so genuine. Made the entire class laugh every day. If you're super liberal, take this class. If you're not, take this class.

Hands down she is the best professor I have had at Wake Tech. She has some of the most in depth lectures that make you really think about life. She has worked so hard to get where she is and it shows with how much passion she puts into her students and class. Her energy made the class even more enjoyable.
