DON'T BUY THE BOOK. You won't need it if you take her trig class. The printout notes online are great and she gives plenty of test and quiz examples in class. Excellent trig professor.

Homework isn't collected so if you don't plan on doing it then don't buy the book. If you do plan on doing the homework but the answers that go along with the book. She gives really good notes and practice tests.

Great teacher. If you know math or can teach yourself you never need to go to class. if you go to class its really easy to understand her. If your attendance sucks and so does your grade she wont help you but if your grade sucks and you go she'll hook you up big time.

She's really easy. As long as you go to the class and print out the outlines you should be fine. She helped write the textbook but she's not stuk or pretentious about. And she's strict about you always reading the chapter.

She is so easy and so nice! She explains everything to the point where you sorta have to be dumb to not understand. If you're okay with math, you don't have to go. I skipped all the time and got high B's/low A's on the tests. GREAT for non-math people:)

Class is pretty easy. If you need anything explained she'll explain it patiently. The only thing is that when she is explaining shes really just doing the problem, not really WHY you do that. She is nice though and will explain until you get it. Oh dont open the text book unless you honestly need it.. THEY WONT BUY IT BACK!

This class is the greatest! I rarely attend lecture and I still get A's on my quizzes and tests. She allows retests if you need them. Take Mrs. Bowers, especially if you aren't a math person.

Absolutely FANTASTIC professor. I was so nervous about taking a college level math course because I'm not a fan of math, but Professor Bowers made this class fun, informational, and easy to follow. I LOVED Mrs. Bowers MAC1105 class. I have never been good at math and she made it crystal clear. She gave out extra credit throughout the semester when she could & would go out of her way to make sure that everyone understood the material before the test. Answered emails very promptly. If you take her quiz reviews and test reviews over and over, you will definitely pass all the quizzes and tests. I took them over and over and ended up with a 99 in the class by end of summer semester.

Her class is relatively easy because she makes it clear what you will be quizzed on, but she messes up frequently in lectures and constantly emails notes she didn't get to in class. There is a quiz or test every week and a 30 or more problem homework due before each test/ quiz.

She's a good professor, but sometimes doesn't go over what is on the quiz. But it's mostly self taught with the generators, not a hard class but make sure you do well on the tests or else your grade will suffer.

Her lessons are usually easy to follow. While the course seems easy at times don't skip class, you will fall behind.

Ms. Bowers is very helpful inside and outside of the lecture hall. She has office hours and help sessions every week, and the quizzes and tests reflect what is taught in class. She cares for her students' understanding of the math concepts and is always there for help.

Buy the note guide it makes lectures so much easier. Definitely ask questions if you have them she doesn't mind stopping to explain something more in depth. Homework quizzes, lab quizzes and tests are all part of your grade. Extra credit for going to lectures and doing practice problems on MyMathLab which will help at the end of the semester.

Where do I even begin... I was failing trig with another professor fall2019 and I took Mrs. Bowers this semester and she is OUTSTANDING! I'm receiving an A+ in the course, while at school before covid, I got 100 on all quizzes and exams. She has office hours every week and is so accessible. Take Bowers if you want to learn trig, you wont regret it.

Took this class online for Summer B. There is a lot of homework and lecture videos to watch & submit notes for everyday on top of attending zoom meetings Monday-Friday and lab Monday/Wednesday. It is a lot of work, but the work isn't hard. She is always available to help and even bump your final grad if you show effort.

Lectures are optional (and recorded) so you can watch them after class. The only required class is your lab which usually takes about 20 mins. The material is pretty easy if you do the notes and hw and quizzes and tests are exactly like the hw. If you're looking for an easy math credit take this class!!

Professor Bowers is great. This is the easiest class I have taken and is such a great math class to fill any credit (very easy). Homework deadlines come up quick, but it is so easy you can finish things so quick as long as you sit down real quick to do it.

Graded by labs, many short quizzes, MLM homework, and 4 tests + final. Don't slack on any of it, and the course is an easy A. Professor Bowers is a very thorough instructor who uploads very detailed notes that are easy to follow along. I never went to lectures, but the material was easily digestable because she explains the problems very clearly.

So, so, so kind and caring, explained trig SO WELL, and made the class very easy. Was definitely one of the best math classes I've ever taken. Offers lots of extra credit. Just make sure you watch the videos on Canvas (if she still uploads those during non-covid times) and use the MML test reviews.

I've taken math at FSU three times, and I can confidently say this is the best Professor that I've experienced. Her lectures are thorough and simplistic and she is understanding of your situation -- if you have one. The homework is not too hard and this is a much bearable class than MAC1105.

I'm not a math person, but Professor Bowers makes it very easy. The lectures put me to sleep, but the actual material she covers is very easy. Do your homework and come to the labs and you'll get an A. She is also a sweet person, and you can tell she cares about students and how we do.

Professor Bowers is a great teacher. She never moves too quickly and easy to follow along. She provides opportunities for extra credit. She does assign a decent amount of homework, but it is intended to help you practice so you can learn the topics and techniques needed on the test.

Super simple class, I didn't go to the lectures for most of the semester and still did well. The only thing that is mandatory is the weekly labs which are usually group quizzes that are super simple (100 on all) or a test. There are five tests throughout the semester and they're pretty short and to the point.

She's a very relaxed teacher. The class is not demanding and you can probably do okay without going to lecture, but you will need to stay on top of the homework regardless.

Ms. Bowers' lectures are really structured. The things she teaches relate to the real world. Her lectures are not mandatory to attend because she records them and posts them to zoom. The homework is usually due weekly which can get a bit tedious when they are longer, but they're relatively easy. Group labs are easy too. A lot like hw.

I loved Professor Bowers. She breaks down the material and goes slow so everyone has time to process information. Her exams are easy, and she gives study guides so you know exactly what to practice. She does have you do a lot of homework though, so make sure to start it early.

Professor Bowers makes it very easy to pass this class and learn a lot. Lectures are always recorded and posted with a pdf of the completed notes. Lab is once a week and involves taking a short quiz with your lab group. Easy math credit and a great professor.

This math class was the easiest class I have ever taken. Professor Bowers posts her notes and lectures online so attendance for lectures isn't mandatory, BUT attendance for group labs is! She allows the use of a "cheat sheet" on every test (including the final) which helps a lot.

SO nice, but the use of MyMath Lab made tests so difficult bc one wrong symbol marks it WRONG. NO CALCULATORS allowed on tests bro. Lots of homework but she excuses some to help your grade if you email her. Never got above a 70 on any exam. DO THE OPTIONAL WORK TO BOOST YOUR GRADE! Cheat sheets allowed in Trig on tests, including final.

I never got below an A on tests except for one which was my fault. If you don't know the material it's best to go to lecture. I usually just skimmed the notes she posted, but I am fairly good at math. There is lots of homework that are heavily weighted and weekly quizzes for every topic, but she stops the quizzes later on in the semester. Take her!

Bad at math? TAKE THIS!!! Very practical and easy subjects. Weekly homework assignments, weekly in-person lab with group work, five quizzes (you're allowed to bring a page of notes). She was really clear in everything you needed to know for the tests with lots of practice to help you. She did give a lot of homework though. I really liked her lectures and she went over everything the day before a test to make sure you're prepared. If you do the homeworks, the tests are almost the exact same. I am not a strong math student but enjoyed this class. I was always scared to take trig because I didn't understand the parts in precalc. Bowers made it easy to understand and although there was a lot of homework at times, it does prepare you for the test so if you do the homework with no help you should do fine on tests.

Mrs. Bowers is a very sweet lady and she genuinely wants to help. She makes the concepts easier to understand. The only thing I would warn people is you must try and do super well on all the exams. There are only 3 and they are all almost 50% of your overall grade so if you fail one, you get a bad overall grade. She does exit tickets.

Bowers is one of my favorite professors. She really took the time to make sure her students understood the material. The tests were very similar to the homework. As long as you show up to lecture every day and do the homework, the class is fairly easy.

Bowers is such a kind person who genuinely seems to care about each how well we do in the class. There's a lot of homework on ALEKS which takes time and there's written assignments every class so you'd need to attend but her lectures and the homework actually helped me learn trig, which was something I struggled in for years.

She is super kind and easy to get along with. Her teaching style reminds me of a chill high school math teacher, however the labs can be somewhat difficult to do. All lab assignments are group based and if you get stuck ask an LA. The LAs are way more helpful than the TAs. I suggest checking your work for the in class assignments with someone

I would def take this teacher again!! She is very caring and genuinely wants you to do great in class. She provided a lot of extensions and she is very responsive. She has a clear and simple teaching style. She doesn't overcomplicate anything. The Aleks HW quizzes personally took a lot of time but will help you pass your tests and quizzes.

There is lots of homework but as long as you keep up with it itll help cushion youre grade, but if you dont do it itll hurt youre grade a ton

I really liked her as a person and a professor. she made me really like trig after hating it in high school. the exams reflect off of the practice exams but the homework takes an extremely long time. But she knows her stuff.

She is very nice, and goes slowly when explaining, so if you're not great at math, you'll like her. She gives many examples and posts videos too for extra info. She is good about answering questions, and I would often stay after class to get clarification. The only thing I didn't like was the homework. There is a LOT of Aleks, so time manage.

Excellent professor. She teaches slowly so that students can follow along even if math is not their strong suit. I have always hated trig but after having taken this class it is much easier for me and I actually kind of enjoy it now. Attendance is important since there is a practice problem that you must turn in at the end of each lecture.

Professor Bowers made trig very easy and enjoyable. Her lectures were slow-paced and she explained everything very thoroughly. I never struggled in this class thanks to her lectures. Class is mandatory, but she also posts recordings of all of her lectures.

There are three exams that are heavily weighed, but are exactly like the problems given in the ALEKS homework. Lectures comprised of solving problems in a textbook. At the end of lectures, there is an exit ticket used for attendance. There are "labs" that are mandatory and are very helpful with doing practice problems.

Professor Bowers really wants people to pass, there are lots of TAs and LAs both in lecture and lab which are super helpful. Do not be ashamed of asking them to look over your lab or scratch paper problems because it will guarantee you get an A. Exams were very similar to the practice tests so make sure you do them.

She was a great professor, however the ALEKS homework is a lot, and a most of the time the homework assignments were very different from problems in class and you had to teach yourself. She is a great teacher though and cares about students.The labs are very helpful, and she is very accessible for help.

So deserving of her 5 star rating. Truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Aleks is a little annoying and tedious though, but she takes time in class to explain every topic in detail. If math isn't your strong suite, having her as a professor will definitely help.

she often moves very quickly through the lectures which makes them difficult to follow. however, if you ask her to explain something or slow down she's awesome. expect a huge amount of hw every night, she uses alexs and I often found myself teaching myself the material through alexs more than the lecture notes and recordings.

I love the way she teaches and shes really sweet. the labs are usually group work and the tests arent really that hard. the homework is pretty manageable. sometimes she goes kinda fast during lectures but she'll slow down if you ask her to.

She is an absolutely amazing professor. She is very thorough with her lessons and genuinely cares that the students understand what's being taught. Her labs are group work and are never too difficult. She's very easy to talk to, so if you need to go to office hours don't be intimidated! Math has never been my forte, but she really made it easy.

Professor Bowers is so nice! I love talking to her because she genuinely cares so much about her students and whether or not they understand the course content. Her labs are clearly planned so they line up with the class content as well as the test questions. She also often extends homework deadlines when she sees we aren't grasping concepts.

Prof Bowers has seriously made this course so much easier than I would have expected. She provides so many help sessions, office hours, homework help, and more. Prof Bowers genuinely cares about making sure her students understand the lectures, and the labs are actually helpful in learning content. There's a lot of hw, but it all helps you learn.

Dr. Bowers is a great professor. She explains concepts pretty simply and the work she assigns reflects what she teaches. The most frustrating thing in this class, however, is the homework software ALEKS. I took MAC1140 last semester and it was nowhere near as obnoxious than trig, as it makes you do the same topic over and over again for hours

She's very thorough when teaching concepts. She doesn't just tell you what the formula is, she explains why. I found that extremely helpful in remembering the different concepts. She also uploads a bunch of supplemental work and recordings to use as practice.

Took Dr. Bowers for my trig requirement. Very caring professor, wants students to succeed. The way she teaches is very helpful in understanding the entire course content. If you come to class you'll get an A. However, the pace of her lecture speed is slow, making lectures drag on forever especially if taken on Tues/Thurs schedule blocks.

Professor Bowers is a good math teacher. She does give out a lot of homework, but the questions in the homework are similar to the ones on the tests. It's easy to get a good grade on exams because of her exam reviews that are very similar to the actual exam. Lectures are boring, but they're okay to follow through.

As someone with no prior experience in Trigonometry yet strong foundational Algebraic skills, Dr. Bowers was the right choice for MAC1114. She explains every lesson very thoroughly; however, Unit 1 was a little nerve-racking because she placed so much emphasis on how important it is. She's very understanding about input errors for the online HW too

i couldn't praise anobody more than Dr. Bowers. she is a phenomenal teacher who wants her students to succeed. i never found myself struggling in her class, which is saying a lot. she is very easy to talk to so don't feel intimidated by going to her office hours! also, do the homework. ALEKS is so useful for learning concepts that you're iffy on.

Bowers is a solid math prof. The ALEKS program she uses is actually pretty helpful for learning trig efficiently. Lectures can be dull, but pay attention and do the practice - you'll likely ace the exams. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for me in this class.

Professor Bowers is a great trigonometry teacher, her lectures are very detailed and her main goal is that students actually understand the material not only to pass the current class but to be successful in all math classes, it shows in her lecture style. She consistently slows herself down to make sure everyone is following, she cares.

Shes great, I recommend taking this course before calc 1, even if you "test out" of it. GPA boost and prepares you for calc.

Kris Bowers was great! She does class lectures with notes and examples. I recommend using an iPad and downloading the notes to fill in as she writes in the notes on the projector. If you show up and do the homework, you will get a good grade in the class! There are lots of TAs and the professor wants her students to succeed!

She has a great structure to this class! I am by no means a math whiz, but I breezed through this class without it becoming a major stressor on my plate. There's so many opportunities for help in class & out of class and the work is not too overwhelming but enough to ensure you learn the material.

Most of the homework is done through ALEKS, which can be kind of annoying but you learn the material well. Dr. Bowers is really nice and explains everything really well. It does get kind of slow if you are already familiar with the subject, like explaining the slope formula in-depth. Easy class and nice professor.

very good teacher! the class is very test heavy, the homework is worth only a little percent of your grade, however, the tests are not hard and she makes good practice tests that are very accurate to what the real test is.

Her class is very straight forward. If you are ever confused just ask her during office hours. She does assign homework which can pile up if not careful so just be aware, however, if you did not do the homework she does do homework catchup so you can get your points back. I would also say go to lectures as it is hard to teach yourself the subject.

Mrs. Bowers is by far one of the best professors I've had at FSU. Her lectures are very understandable, and although attendance isn't mandatory she gives you written assignments that can help your grade in the end if you show up to class. I have never had a teacher who teaches math as well as she does! (coming from someone who sucks at it).

She was amazing! Her lectures helped me understand the material thoroughly, and the ALEKS program she uses is so helpful when learning math. Professor Bowers offered plenty of help hours, and she cares deeply for her students and wants to help them understand trigonometry. Overall, she is the best teacher I've had at FSU so far!

Trig isn't hard, I must have skipped half the lectures and just used Aleks to learn all the material. Sometimes she will teach in a way that is confusing if you already have a basic understanding of the material. But she's a good professor overall who cares, and its not hard to get an A.

Ms. Bowers is an awesome individual and was responsive anytime I reached out to her. Her lectures line up to the homework and the homework is exact to the quizzes. Tbh you don't need to show up if you feel confident, I always did the homework the last night it was open and didn't study for the quiz other than that and never got below an A.

She is truly amazing! Her lectures are clear and straightforward and she always checks to see if anyone needs help or a better understanding! The exams are just like the practice tests, so if you do those, then the class should be an easy A! By far one of the best professors at FSU.

she's great! responds to emails fast and is always happy to meet with you to help you on your homework. go to the help sessions!! she gives you extra credit for attending LA help sessions at ACE.

I highly recommend Professor Bowers! Her lectures are great. They helped me genuinely understand the content and be prepared for future math classes. The homework helps so much! It's just like the test and really enables you to understand the concepts. She really cares about teaching the students and is always willing to answer any questions.

Kristina Bowers clearly cares about your understanding of the concepts. As a visual learner I found her demonstrations of concepts very nice. The class however is VERY homework heavy, expect to be doing homework every day. Attendance is required to lectures and labs. During lab days you work in groups of 4, you will also take your exams during labs

Wonderful professor. She uses TA's and LA's really well and offers lots of participation grading. The tests on Aleks are exactly like the homework on Aleks. Decent amount of hw during the week but it's doable. She teaches on her iPad that projects on the screen and writes on the notes she provides to you online.

She is an amazing professor. Her lectures cover everything that you could possibly need to be successful in this course, future courses that build on this one's materials, exams, and homeworks. She will do a little bit of extra content that may not be needed for everyone's major, but she is thorough and promotes understanding over memorization.

Professor Bowers has engaging lectures and is easy to understand. As someone who does not usually catch onto math topics quickly, her teaching helped me understand trigonometry thoroughly. She offers a few extra credit opportunities for attending tutoring at ACE or office hours. She is always willing to help.

Dr. Bowers has good lectures, is helpful and available, and takes the average of your two highest test scores. This is in place of extra credit. She gives similar practice quizzes and tests that are very similar to the graded ones. If you put in the work you will get an A, and minimal effort is required to pass.

Professor Bowers' class is very doable if you show up to lectures and ask for help if need be. HW load is similar to MAC 1140, and the HW is basically the test/quiz. I would just spam practice quizzes and tests. As a professor, she is very kind and helpful. I would say failing this class would only be possible if you aren't using her resources.

She very much cares about you and your success. The tests are exactly like the homework, both of which are done through ALEKS. Make sure you lock in for the tests because they are 70% of your grade. This is purely my opinion and may not be your experience, but ALEKS taught me the material better than she did. This is not to say she has bad lectures

I personally thought she was an amazing teacher, I was a bit nervous going into trig but she always did a great job at explaining concepts and would explain it multiple ways if someone needed it. She genuinely cares about your success and is a sweet lady, would absolutely take her again in the future.

Very good at explaining course material. Incredibly helpful and thorough in making sure the material is covered and understood. The homework is a little heavy but definitely manageable.

I LOVED her lectures! Dr. Bowers cares so much about her students and would stay after every lecture to answer questions. TAs know what they're doing too. Her tests are exactly like the practice tests. Homework helps explain anything you don't understand from lecture. She posts help times and can get extra credit for going. Attendance is mandatory.

Dr. Bowers was a very kind and helpful professor. Her lectures were a little boring, and she was fairly strict about not using your phone during them (she would have Tas watching us to ensure we were paying attention). Her practice exams were exactly like the tests, so if you spam them, you are basically guaranteed to do well. Would 100% recommend

bowers was so sweet and a great professor, but her LA and TAs were awful and extremely unhelpful. they did not know the material at all and always gave wrong answers. the class is easy but boring and tests are a majority of your grade so make sure you lock in for these.

Take her she is amazing! Her lectures are very clear and precise and I understood the information very well. This class is super easy because every single test is literally the exact same as the practice tests with different numbers. Lots of homework on Aleks but it definitely prepares you. Get ready for the labs, those questions can be hard.

Professor Bowers definitely cares about her students. Her lectures can be a little boring at times but she does take attendance so it is important to go. She uses Aleks so it's like any other math class where doing the homework can tremendously help on tests. She replaced our lowest test grade with our final exam which helped my grade a ton.

She was great. Her lectures could get a bit boring but I understood what she was teaching. A decent amount of ALEKS homework due each week. Very accessible through office hours and cares about her students doing well too! She also replaces your lowest test grade with your final grade if it's higher.
