I really enjoyed her class. Her test were hard but Biology is going to be. She does her best to help you in any way she can. Our class always had the highest test scores.

she's the type of teacher who will bend over backwards to help you get an A, without lowering her standards (biology is still going to be tough). she always cleared up points of confusion, and researched any questions she didn't have immediate answers to. i would recommend her to everyone, she is a great teacher who loves biology

I absolutely loved Dr. Hicks as a teacher. She was great. I am not a huge biology fan, but she made the class interesting. All BIO classes are hard, but hers is at least enjoyable. She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She wants you to do well, and is so nice that you want to do well. Take her, definitely. It's a good decision.

Dr. Hicks is a phenomenal A&P teacher. I learned a lot in this class. There is a LOT of material so be prepared to memorize a ton of information. Be sure to take the lab that Dr. Hicks teaches and not her associate. Labs are mandatory, but lecture is not. Attending lecture is necessary to get an A, though. Take her!

Dr. Hicks does have a hard class. There is a lot of material and a lot of memorizing. After every class you need to study or you will get behind. She is a good, friendly, and flexible professor. Lecture is not required but you should, I never studied my book for a lecture exam and pulled an A, however you do need that book for Lab.

Hicks is great. Print off the powerpoints before class. Study regularly (right after class is best); you can't just study the night before. Her tests are tough; you must know the actual concepts not just memorize info. The class is two classes in one because you have lab practicals on top of tests, so you will be perpetually studying for this class

SHOW UP TO CLASS! It effects the points you get toward your final grade, plus after about the 5th absence you are dropped. Dr. Hicks is a fabulous professor. She loves what she does and teaches the material well. If you ask for help she is more than willing to give it. But you earn the grade you get, so put forth effort and you should do well.

Dr. Hicks is great. You have to work to get a good grade. Her lectures are long, but she tries to explain it so that everyone will understand. She's really funny, and makes jokes during lecture to keep it interesting. Honestly wouldn't have wanted anyone else (took her for my second semester A&P) She's a great professor, but be ready to work

I loved her. I had her for human anatomy and physiology 1 and now I'm taking her again for a&p 2. We had 5 tests throughout the semester with 50 multiple choice questions on them. If you go to class and pay attention then you should do fine. She goes over the material until you get it. Beware of the bone practical test! MUST study for it.

Dr. Hicks is an amazing Structure and Function professor. I had her for S&F 1 and she was the first professor at UCA that seemed to truly care about students doing well in her class. Go to glass, she gives out a ton of bonus opportunities. The most important thing is to take good lecture notes and study them on a daily basis.

Her tests are very tough, there is no room for cramming, but I have learned so much from this class, that is all I can ask for. Don't skip class!! You will have no hope, as the powerpoints she provides are very basic.

Write down everything she says, including things students ask her because they could be extra credit. She gives a lot of small extra credit and explains things very well in detail. Online access code is required and includes an online copy of the textbook, which is the only copy I used.

It's hard to catch up when you miss because other classmates notes don't always make sense for the tough topics covered. Dr. Hicks will take the time to explain anything you need out of class.

Excellent professor. In my opinion, S&F1 was much easier than S&F2. Currently, S&F2 is a lot more in depth concepts and very difficult test... habitual studying is needed to pass this class. Concepts hard to grasp and test difficult.

I took Hicks my first semester and failed. Not her fault, I just didnt participate. Now that Im done w my second semester I realize I took her for granted. And she understands it so well herself that she lets us know how things are relevant, so it doesn't get boring. I see why she got teacher of the year!

I had Dr. Hicks during COVID and it was online and I am a freshman. She was the BEST teacher I had. I am really upset she isn't teaching A&P 2. She loves to teach and is crazy good at explaining the topics that are complicated even tho it had to be online. She is a really really great teacher and so nice. I learned a lot and had fun.

She is outstanding You will learn so much and if you don't understand she is great about coming up with different ways to explain or different examples until you get it.
