Kristine is a really cool lady...she gives the most awesome examples of everything when she's explaining something, and really makes sense of everything... Although she is probably the hardest marker i've ever met, she's a really good teacher!

Hard marker but a DAMN good teacher. Amazing examples, helpful grammar and interesting stories and class subjects covered. Definately recommended for a first year teacher if you do well in English. She WILL challenge you.

Although I find her class interesting- I would not reccomend taking it if you are trying to transfer to Uvic-she only grills yah and makes your self esteem go down!

EXTREMELY hard marker, but a wicked class. I would recommended it for the material, but if your a terrible writer don't expect an A. She's really nice and down to earth, and although she marks hard, she is more than willing to help you correct your mistakes and to do your very best.

women's lit was a very interesting class. Kristine seems to like to hear herself talk (which is ok, because she's knowledgeable about the topics she teaches) and she also seems to pick favorites. SHE IS THE HARDEST MARKER I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. nuff said.

Kristine taught a really great class. She was a failry hard marker, but gave excellent feedback comments on papers. I would definately take a class with her again. Though she is a tough marker, A's are not impossible!

Kristine is an amazing instructor. She is passionate about her topic of teaching and comes to class with a lot of enthusiasm. SHE IS THE HARDEST MARKER IN THE WORLD THOUGH! Go to her for help WELL in advance. I highly recommend this class. Kristine is awesome!

Kristine's a good teacher. She comes off as a little intimidating at first and has a way of putting students on the spot. She's a hard, but fair, marker. You definitely have to work to get a mark in the 90s. For those who struggle with grammer, Kristine is very clear and thorough. A warning: this class is truly one essay after another.

Okay, nobody can deny the fact that she knows her stuff. But seriously, I was an honours english student and I'm getting a B. All I can say is this...if you're taking her class, don't get your hopes up. They will soon be dashed. I've never come across a harder marker in my life.

Kristine is amazing, and her enthusiasm is contagious. The format of her classes were great- the discussions and group work were very engaging. She also had a great way of starting each class with a really helpful review/ summary of the conclusions of the previous day's informal discussions for those who benefit from it in a nutshell. Kristine is an interesting teacher. She tries to make lectures fun, and I give her credit for it. However, some of her group work assignments are unclear, and she is an EXTREMELY hard marker on essays. She helps you out if you book an appointment with her.

Kristine is, as everyone loves to point out, a very tough marker. Several times, I received a lower grade because we had what I consider to be "creative differences," but an A is possible. She's harsh grammatically, but she has an excellent system called "word of the day." If you use these words in your essays, you get a percent per word, up to 5%.

She is one of the best Eng` teachers at Camosun and I have had a lot of bad ones. Definitely take her Greek Tragedy course if offered again.

Not a big fan of the teaching style, i feel as if she "babys" the class, feels like elementary school. She does get the point across however, and is very clear. A strong, no-nonsense woman who wants everyone to do well; is helpful when approached; doesn't play favourites; and helps you understand grammar rules that she is strict on. Not an easy marker, but respectful. A class for those more serious about English, as she pushes you to new heights.

Kristine taught me how to write an essay properly. What I learned in high school is nothing compared to what she taught me about structure, content and sourcing. She is a tough marker but a fair one and I worked my butt off in her class. Attend class and you'll do better. Overall a great prof!

Wonderful teacher. Very clear and charismatic. Not only does she teach well, but her enthusiasm for her topic is quite apparent. also, She's the second hottest girl in the class. literally.

Her classes are very fun, and interesting as we are given lots of opportunity to discuss. Hard marker though! I feel as if she is snide while marking my essays, and a little condescending when I speak to her in class. She makes me feel so stupid!

I can't help but laugh at all the poor souls who were not prepared for this class. Kerins is the essential university preparatory teacher. Yes, she DOES nitpick every single thing you do and you will thank her a thousand times throughout your life when you can properly write an essay. This isn't high school kids, this teacher actually teaches.

After reading the reviews here, I was really worried about my class with Kristine. I can't believe how wrong everyone is! She has very clear expectations (i.e. read the material) and is very helpful in pointing out the areas you need to work on. She obviously loves what she does and I would happily take another class with her.

Kristine gives AMAZING lectures, great for those logical types who need a right/wrong formula approach to English. Like others have said, she is a brutal marker, but her input is useful and you can tell she genuinely puts the time and effort into giving feedback. Be prepared for lots of group work - if you have social anxiety give her a miss.

Hard Grader, but great feedback. Almost every class has a small reading quiz worth marks. READ THE READINGS. DO IT. The textbook is actually gold and the teacher wrote it. It is like a little handbook to writing a good essay and proper format for citations. She gives really helpful feedback and will offer extensions if you give her enough notice.

She is a hard marker, but she does explain how she wants things done. Also she does give extensions on assignments if you talk to her before. She is always there to help you.

Kristine will undoubtedly make you a better writer. She has great lectures that really help you understand the concepts of essay writing and the English language.
