by far, one of the best professors i've ever had!

EASILY the best professor i've ever had, and she's always there if you need her for extra help of advising....or anything for that matter. and she's funny.

Dr. Larsen is a cool lady. She is really nice and likes rock 'n roll. She is very helpful and classes are not boring

Best prof I ever had! Highly recommended to have her teach you this stuff. You'll understand it and if you do the work get a good grade.

Also in the Honors Program. Awesome Prof, really learn alot in the class and have fun too.

The best class ever!! If you come to every class and take notes (which she does for you on the board) you will do good! All her tests are based on her notes, you don't have to read the textbook. INTERESTING class. Problems for your tests are in the syll.

She's cool. I think she believes to much of the cosmology bull**** though, she's into the Egyptian book of the dead, tatoos etc. She's a total geek/heavy metal rock chick, very cool for an astronomy teacher. It's very easy to get an A

I have never been very good at Science...I in fact almost blew up the lab in chemistry. But she is absolutely awesome! She tells you what you need to know, and makes it fun enough to remember it beyond the tests. Definitely take her classes if you can.

Wow, she is an awesome teacher. Her notes are so easy to follow and she explains the material soo clearly!! She is def. the best prof. I've had so far!! Not only that, but she keeps us updated on stuff like deadlines for dropping classes and advisors etc. She really cares about her students

Wants students to do well. Really cares about what she is teaching. A lot of fun. Makes class interesting. Very detailed notes and explanations. If you dont understand it she will do what it takes to explain it, even if it means dancing around the room doing the "pulsar dance" she is awesome

She is by far the best professor I have had. The class notes are clear and straight forward. Exam problems are right in the syllabus so no quessing about whats on the exams. Overall really interesting class and you learn too. Definitly take her classes.

Great professor. She will do anything to get you to learn the material. Doesn't curve but drops your lowest test grade. Def take her if you need to take a science with a lab.

Dr. Larsen is one of CCSU's finest professors. Her classes are informative; as well as, insightful. I hope everyone gets to take one of her classes or get to know her around campus. And, everyone should join the Honors Program @ CCSU ;-)

She's an amazing teacher, very helpful and always willing to work with you. My favorite teacher on campus thus far. Her tests are easy and she lets you know what's on them beforehand so you know what to study. Awesome.

Dr. Larsen is the woman! THE best prof at this school by far! I would have transfered first semester if it wasn't for her and the honors program. Such a cool lady, with amazing credentials, a great sense of humor, and... she loves Tolkien. Could you get any cooler than that? Take her, you won't regret it!

Dr. Larsen is probably the best professor that CCSU has to offer. The honors program has made it possible for me to get the quality education I know I'm receiving and I especially enjoy the courses that Larsen teaches personally. If you're not taking a class with Larsen, then you're not getting your tuition's (or scholarship's) worth.

Larsen is amazing, I had her class freshman year and I couldn't wait to take her again. She fun, nice, helpful and very funny. DEFINITELY recommended!

Made concepts easy to understand and the course interesting

She is amazing, very helpful and enthusiastic. Ended up giving me direction; because of her class I continued my college career in esci.

Really helpful, especially to honors students. Laid back type of class you can joke around but you have to get your work done. If you read the book and think critically you love it.

If you ever need a stressless science class, take one of hers. She really puts it on a level anyone can understand.

Took this class as an intro my freshman year, She was great, always helpful and was good at making the material make sense, I will certainly take her again if given the chance. Great teacher!

I had this professor as my FYE course. I find her to care a lot about everyone in the class understanding a material. She will stop and help anyone during class discussion if they do not understand a concept in order to make sure they have a clear understanding.She is a very nice, and funny woman and I would have no problem taking another class aga

i took this class, knowing that i hate lord of the rings. but she has definitely shown the fun side to it. she is an excellent teacher, explains herself very well, helps out her students alot and she knows how to make a class fun.

Great professor even for someone who doesn't like science. Easy A if you do all the essays and work which are a breeze to do. Great lady, super nice and extreamly helpful.

This teacher is probably one of the useful teachers I have had, and is one of the coolest. I would highly recommend her, and it doesn't matter what class you have her for.

UNDERSTANDABLE WHY SHE WAS PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR. EXCELLENT CLARITY W/ GOOD HUMOR. GOOD DISCUSSION STYLE & GOOD USE OF POWERPOINT. YES I LIKE LORD OF THE RINGS. FAIR GRADER. EARNS HER PAY-UNLIKE OTHERS WHO SIMPLY TOSS PAPERS/EXAMS IN THE AIR. THIS IS THE IDEAL TEACHING STYLE. THE ENTHOUSIASM IS CONTAGIOUS.

Had her for a online summer course and she was more than fair. She didn't give us any tests, and she had a point grading system which was very fair and gives you many opportunities to earn an A. Dr. Larsen is the most down to earth professor at CCSU..take her class because its gonna be great and youll have a good time..she makes learning fun and has the coolest office loaded up with lord of the rings action figures haha..definitely my favorite professor at CCSU

Took a 3 week online course with her. There's a lot of work for 3 weeks, but she posts it well in advance of the start of the class so you can start it beforehand if you want. No tests, just a bunch of written work. Time consuming, but relatively easy.

Professor Larsen is great. I really had no interest in science before this class, but it was easy and enjoyable. She is fantastic with explaining concepts in a simple way, and doesn't lecture on for hours. Activities are fun, and even lectures are a breeze. Great woman, I highly suggest taking her class if you need to fill a science requirement.

She's absolutely wonderful. I never enjoyed a science class before having her. She is extremely helpful, down to earth, and understanding. If you don't like science, like me, she is the professor for you. She makes it fun. She's not just a professor, she's a real person. Love her to death. And you will too!

I am so happy I took this class this semester. She makes the material easy to understand,and gives us examples for everything. She's very fair with grading, always willing to answer questions, and definitely keeps class interesting. She's one of the best profs I've had, and from my experience there's only a handful of them. She's passionate about what she teaches and knows how to explain the subject in an easily understandable way. She's also really fun.

This first year experience class is only for freshman, but it was awesome! We talked and watched movies on zombies, like Resident Evil, Fido, Romero Trilogy, ect. She is understanding and will allow more time for assignments if the excuse is legit. (like the crazy power outages) She is so nice and funny!

This class was awesome and the proffesor was really cool. Its alot of work but about really cool and controversial issues. The midterm and final are both take hom. homework consists of watching zombie movies and answering questions and we also have to do reflection essays about the topics we learned in class but those are easy. GREAT CLASS!!

Amazing teacher. Explains very complex things simply to give you an idea, then shows you how to re-complicate it in a way that makes sense.

One of the best professors I have had at CCSU. She actually enjoys what she's teaching and you can clearly see that. She's very helpful, down to earth, and is a fair grader. Her test aren't too bad as long as you take good notes. Her tests are also fair - whats in her class notes is exactly whats on the test. I guarantee you'll enjoy her classes!

Teaches this class with Dr. Feder. She's a lot like him, though a slightly more difficult grader and she's slightly less "untraditional." But she's still a great professor; get this section of 120 if you can. It was by far my favorite class this semester, and Larsen and Feder were my favorite professors. I'm actually sad it's over :(!

Very good professor. Very funny, very engaging, very knowledgeable. Is an easy grader, but knows when you're talking BS and when you're keeping it real. You take her class you'll have a good time, laugh some, be encouraged to thinking critically, and maybe even learn something you had no interest in originally.

I don't care at all about Astronomy but I took this class because I needed a Lab credit. I still don't care much about Astronomy but I'm so happy I took this class. Professor Larsen is a great teacher, the class is an easy A if you study about 5-8 hours per test (only 2 tests). Lab is supposed to last almost 2 hours but never goes over 40 minutes.

You do an experimenthands on activity every class, but they are super easy and fun! Every night before class you look at a powerpoint she posts on Blackboard and take a 10 question quiz after. (EASY) It seems like a lot of work, but it's really not at all. I would 100% take this course again. I highly recommend it! Dr. Larsen is also easy going

Absolutely amazing professor!! She makes me want to be a scientist.. and I don't even like science. Her lectures are amazingly interesting and engaging. Makes you work for the good, but totally worth it. She is a must take!!!

This class is easy just show up and do the work she assigns. It is also very informative, without a doubt the most useful Gen Ed i've taken I highly would recommend it.

Larsen is an amazing professor but she is a very tough professor. I took this class because everyone said it was an easy A. Tests are fill in the blank and short answer, so if your not good at memorizing DONT take this class. She a tough grader when it comes to points, always do the extra credit.

Cultural Astronomy is a great learning experience and the professor set an easy class with easy standards. Most of the homework assigned can be done in minutes before class is over, you are usually put early, and you get to go into a planetarium (which can get you a job)! Just show up to class and your work. You will pass with a good grade.

She's really nice. Describes this class as "the hardest class of your university career..." there was a lot of work and a ton of information but it's doable. You need to study to pass and there's a quiz every night but it's pretty easy. In class quizzes are a little harder and you do group work every day. Only a final exam which wasn't too bad.

I loved Dr. Larsen's class! she was extremely helpful and was willing to answer any questions you had. Emailed back extremely quickly. The class is self taught with in class labs. Would take her again in a heart beat!

She was a wonderful professor with interesting lectures. There are only 2 tests which you do need to study for a decent amount but the tests are actually easier than expected. The late night observations are actually really fun and never lasted the entire scheduled time. We were usually there around an hour (or less). Overall great professor!

I took this class online in the summer. She was extremely organized and the class requirements were obvious. Discussions each week, one homework each week and 4 essays. Good feedback and interaction. She really knows the subject.

Dr. Larsen is extremely smart and highly organized. She responds to emails promptly, always answers questions and explains things in class throughly. She has a very outgoing personality, but will always make sure the class is on the same page. Dr. Larsen is a very good professor.

Professor Larsen is extremely helpful. She is very blunt and makes the class entertaining. Always available to answer questions. If you're bad at math, this is not the class for you. That was my only struggle lol :)

I took this class online (Hyflex). Dr. Larsen is organized, straightforward, makes her expectations clear, and gives interesting lectures. She expects discussion and participation. Excellent teacher!

Never enjoyed science all throughout my experience within school, but she made the class incredibly interesting and really fun. Super understanding and extremely caring to her students especially if you show dedicated and that you care about your education! I would recommend her to anyone!

Great professor, probably my top 3 professor, Really knows her class and is really good at teaching it. As someone who took this class as a lab requirement, it's easily my favorite class this semester. workload is okay and it has a lot of writing, and the quiz is straightforward if you use the study guide. Also the night class is really fun!

Professor Larsen is amazing! She is very passionate about what she teaches and her lectures are always fun to attend. The lab is always simple and doesn't take long to complete. She will help and review things if you have a hard time understanding. The hardest thing about for me was the algebra, however she does give a formula sheet for tests.
