Ms. Thompson is an excellent teacher. She truly cares that her students comprehend the material. I strugged with algebra until I took her class. I GOT AN A! She has a great personality and is very personable. The only warning is to make sure you pee before class, because she doesn't give breaks!

Seasoned Vet yet still more teacher than instructor. She enjoys the work, and goes the distance to ensure the student gets the material. Calculus is hard, she takes the edge off. I would sign-up for another class with her teaching.

Very good instructor. Definitely loves her job. The first couple of classes may scare you to death until you get the hang of her way of teaching. Her handouts are more valuable than the $175 book. Save your money! See math tutor Aimee if you need extra help. If you skip a day, you can catch up by going to the same class she has at another time.

Really good teacher. Would recommend her for anybody. I am usually not good in Math, but she makes things very clear and walks you through even seemingly easy problems. She answers questions very well. Tests are almost identical to the review...some questions are the same.

If you can have to take a Math class, take her! I cannot believe i walked out with an avg A. she is so organized. She gives you all the tests way before and just changes the number in the actual exam. If you get an A avg in class you don't have to take the final exam! TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!!

Best teacher Ive ever had. Made learning extremely easy. If you dont get it, she doesnt make you feel stupid and really helps you. If you average an A on the tests (which is very easy) you dont have to take the exam. Highly reccomended!!

Kristine Thompson is the best math teacher I have ever had. Her notes is enough for you to pass her class. I took it over the summer with no book and passed with an "A". Her study guide is exactly her test just with different numbers. I highly recommend anybody that has to take MTH 270 take her. The BOMB!!!

I had a very tough semester due to personal issues and despite bad attendance she worked with me to make sure I did well. Book work isn't mandatory and she makes her own handout notes. She is very easy to understand and very approachable when you don't. I suggest her, she's amazingly kind and smart!!

Great instructor! She gives out notes and test reviews with answers that are almost exactly like her tests! Book is only used for doing optional homework problems, so if you catch on quickly or are just good with math, don't buy it. She has no problem with students emailing or even calling her cell phone for help! TAKE HER!

By far one of the best teachers ever! Explains things well and gives great examples of problems. I have never had math come so easy to me. Did this class in an excelerated version in summer after being out of school for 7 years. Aced the class and understood everything. You are an idiot if you pass her up!

Wow!!! Outstanding!!! Been out of school for 30 years and Professor Thompson made it seem easy. Covered exactly what you need to know and tests are clear, no tricky questions, and provided practice test. Pay attention in class, take notes, do the practice test and should get an A!!!

Don't buy the book, you will never use it :) Her test reviews are exactly like the 4 tests. If you do the review a couple times you will get a 100 on the test. She even gives partial credit if you get a question wrong. She is crystal clear and teaches the subject wonderfully. Mrs. T always welcomes questions if you have any.I absolutely adore her!

I was TERRIFIED to take Applied Calculus. Thanks to this wonderful teacher (in conjunction with hard work), I not only passed, but am passing with an A. This professor was out of this world. She is one of the best if not the best to take for math. I used the txtbook for the first chapters but after that there really was no need. Come to class and really pay attention and you are good to go. She will not test you on anything she does not teach. She is WONDERFUL!

WOW, I now know the definition of efficiency. This was the best math/possibly the best teacher ive ever had. Very organized and makes it as easy as possible. Ive been out of math for 9 years and returned with a 99.8% thanks to this marvelous woman. We need more teachers like this.

Ok Let's face it, Calculus is not an easy subject. But with Mrs Thompson she will do what it takes(including letting you call her at home)to give you help. She uses her own techniques to help you understand Calc vs the book which was MUCH better. Her tests is like her review so do the review & come to class & you will pass. No HW required

I was absolutely dreading calculus, and since i got "C" in Pre-Calc that did not help...Wound up with an "A" in this class. Not only is Mrs. Thompson an awesome teacher but she really takes the time to make sure you understand the material. I would recommend her highly to anybdody that asked.

Uses real world examples that help to comprehend the material. I took Calculus during the summer session and, when she went on vacation, she actually paid for another teacher so we wouldn't miss out and have to cram the rest of the material. VERY CLEAR on what she expects of you. I recommend attending class so you don't have to copy notes.

Talk about organization!! She provides notes (you just "fill in " some info along with her during lecture). She only covers what she will test you on. She provides practice tests that are just like your actual tests. If you have an A average after the 5 tests, you are exempt from the final:) You can't go wrong with her. She's fabulous!!

Great teacher. All the notes are available on Blackboard for students to print out. If you miss a day of class just ask her for what you missed and she will give you a copy. Test reviews are very similar to the actual test. Its a very difficult subject, almost backed out the first week but stuck with it. She will work with you if you need help.

Good teacher, but she babies you. Everything from the simple presentation of the material to her attendance policy to assigned seats, she approaches math like a high school teacher. If you can tolerate that, she's worth taking. She rubbed me the wrong way personally, but nothing that interfered with learning.

Mrs. Thompson is AWESOME! She doesn't require the book because she has handouts for each section (that she made) on blackboard. Plus, if you do the MyMathLab you can opt to not take the final! Everything she does is to help her students pass with an understanding of Applied Calculus. Take her if you want to (easily)earn your A!

K.Thompson is a wonderful teacher. I took her summer course and it consisted of 5 test and homework. She's organized and easy to follow. Granted she has her moments but overall she's one of the best teachers I've had for math.

Had no interest in statistics prior to taking this class.. have never done so well in a math class until I took this course with her. She is very organized and responds very quickly to emails. She does not use the book which I thought was nice. Test reviews are very similar to the tests which is a huge help!!

I would highly recommend taking any math with her esp. if you aren't particularly good at it. I hadn't taken a calc class in 7 years so I was a little worried at the beginning of the semester but she makes everything simple, clear and the contents on the test are no surprise.

She is a wonderful professor. Always willing to help all her students. She responds quickly to emails. She shows the easiest, quickest, and most efficient ways to solving problems.You will do well in her class as long as you do the homework and study the problems she went over in class, and especially the practice test!

NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED, BUT YOU NEED MML! she has pre printed made out notes that you print out and fill in. she had a practice test for each test, and it is the same as the test just different #. class is mandatory though! she is weird and corky, but it is an easy A take her for any math you can. never take maynard!

Although the workload is heavy, the course is structured so that even the mathematically challenged can receive an A or B if they do the blackboard assignments and come to class regularly.

The program I'm applying to requires STATS, and I was absolutely dreading it. Ms. Thompson is truly awesome. I was unsure about her at first, and she is super strict about cell phones and attendance. She is quirky (which becomes very charming). She makes the subject doable and prepares students really well for tests. No surprises! TAKE HER!

Without her there is no way I would still have my 4.0 GPA!!! I suck at math and she makes it so easy to understand! She is such a great teacher that she turned a math DUD (me) into a "A" Math student. I owe her for how she helped me overcome my fear of Math. If you DONT taker her, you must not want an "A".

She is so helpful; if you study the test review sheets, you would take A. I'm an adult student and took her evening class. The pre-calculus class I took before this class was morning class and full of young students. I was uncomfortable in there. I strongly recommend this class for students like me, adults nervous to go back to math class again.

Sometimes you feel like your in high school - don't be late & keep your phone away, but if you can get past that she is the best math teacher you could have. She makes all the notes, just print it & bring to class, to fill in a little bit of info. the study guides are almost an exact copy of the tests. mml required. highly suggest her, she's great!

I'm not a great Math student. Took the class because of the review and enjoyed every minute of it. Though it was tuff, it is a very structure course and she will hold you to it as well. Study review test and do the Math Lab home work and you will have no problem passing the class.

She is a fantastic teacher. The notes are printed for you and she will review sections until it becomes second nature. A lot of students in my class were weak in math, but received no less than a C. She is extremely easygoing and accommodated us when we had personal issues. I enjoyed the class a lot.

Mrs. Thompson is such a sweet lady. I never thought I actually would pass statistics the first time, but I did. She's very clear about what's going to be on the test and gives plenty of review and helps you as much as possible. Take statistics with her.

Your grade consists of MyMathLab and 4 tests (5 if you NEED to take the final). She gives you practice tests before each exam and it's practically the real test. Do your homework and the practice tests and you'll be good!

Ms. Thompson is an excellent Math teacher. She breaks everything down for the worst math student to the best math student. I dropped this class last semester because I was struggling to keep up. Not the case with Ms. Thompson! Fantastic teacher!

This class was incredibly helpful! You print off notes that you both fill in and go over in class, There are 4 tests no quizzes. Homework is through My Math Lab and is due every sunday. The homework is open all semester but if you don't do it by the due date you will just get a penalty taken off. Just do the test reviews and you will pass!

Mrs. Thompson is great, super easy and understanding. Although she has a very strict policy against cell phone use and cheating but honestly who doesn't. As long as you study your study guides and attend class you will pass this class with flying colors.

The only way you dont get an A or B in this class if you don't do your due diligence. Yes, there are fill in the blank notes but this is STATISTICS! so there's actual need to understand context of the subject. Just show up, listen, put your cell phones away, complete MML, and study her go-bys. You will also need a TI84 calculator. Good teacher!

Easy A, but if you hated HS, don't take. She's kinda boring & strict on cell phones and attendance. Real tests are exactly like her practice tests, just different numbers. I went to class & studied 30 min. prior to test &got above 95's on all of them. 4 tests, & if you get above an average of above 70 on them you don't have to take the final.

She is an excellent teacher! You really need to pay attention in this class. Do your homework and go to class. She is really nice and will work with you if you have any questions! I highly recommend her!

Thompson wants you to pass. The study guides are the EXACT same type of problem as the test . Know how to do the study guide & you will get an A. Mymathlab homework has 9 attempts, so there's no reason to do poorly on hw. If you have above an 80% on tests and hw, you can opt out of the final. Go to class and know how to do the study guide.

notation, notation, notation, if you forget to show notations on every single line on your tests you'll get points deducted. Tests are identical to study guides which helps a lot. TONS of hw, you only get 6 attempts to get the right answer or its wrong forever. does allow extensions with 30% penalty to complete hw. tests are multiple choice.

ok so here is the deal this is a math class yet we do have a lot of vocabulary type questions on the test, the test are the usual make sure you study or you wont pass. the notes are fill in the blank which i hate, you dont get much do it yourself examples which sucks but when you do they show up on the test. my mathlab required and thats really it

I took her over the summer and she was great. There are fill in the blank notes, but focus on understanding the concepts of how to do the problems on my math lab and study guides are almost the test. My lowest grade was a 95 on the test and got above 100 on the other exams. People who wern't that good in math all got C's or better. Take her!!

If you are not good in math, I suggest you take her. Her methods helped me greatly, more than any other math teacher. She is kind of particular about things and actually comes off rude quite often, BUT she gets you through the class successfully. Don't miss any days and expect to stay the entire class. Genuinely cares about students. Infinitely patient. Takes attendance seriously. Study based on handouts from blackboard that you fill out during class. Homework is all in MyMathLab. Grade is based on the average of 4 tests and your homework average. Study practice tests & you do well. Optional exam at the end to pull your grade up if you need it.

Very straight forward professor, what you put in you will get in return. Print notes, come to class, put your phone away, and pay attention. She works all problems out for you on notes in a simple way that is easy to understand. If you do not understand she will let you know when to come see her, shes very helpful and truly cares about her students

The homework isn't mandatory, however you can use it instead of the final. You do have to print a lot of paper but it's well worth it. The study guides are just like the test and she is fair on grading. She will try to work with you if you need help or extensions.

Mrs. Thompson wants to see you be successful. If you put in hard effort she will notice it and respect you for that. Do all of your homework, show up to each class, and you will succeed! Like I said, she wants to see you do well in her class.

Professor Thompson is very good teacher when i took statistics. Her classes are straight lecture but her test are just like the study guide. She is very caring but strict when it comes to cell phones. Great professor! If you do very well you are exempt from the final exam too and she'll tell you what she expects.

She's very strict in every way and treats the class like they're children, which really bugged me (no cell phones, etc) But, when I went through a tough time she was very supportive and gave me notes and whatever extra help I needed. Make sure you do the homework and are PREPARED for class, ask ?'s, and remember she's there for you so be present.

I had math phobia until I took her class. I never got an A in math in high school but I got an A with Mrs. Thompson. Just do what she tells you, do the study guides before each test about two or three times, and pop into the math lab for tutoring a few times, and you will be fine.

She was terrific!!!!! Must take her if you need to take MTH 152! As long as you go to class and work on the MML you will pass for sure!!!!

Just buy MyStatLab. All homework on there. Simple subject, show up and pay attention. Do not use your phone. She does care if you are late or absent. Very good teacher. Tests match the test reviews. Class finished two weeks before the semester ended. Awesome.

Really awesome instructor. She was very thorough with notes and always slowed down and answered questions when needed. Take the notes, do all of the my math lab homework and you should be just fine. The tests are very similar to the review she gives out so it is not hard to study. Highly recommend her!
