Professor Acevedo is well-respected and cares for his students inside and outside of class. Going into this class, I wanted to focus on interpersonal communication skills and how to conversate with other students, and thanks to him, I learned how to be a more effective communicator with others. Overall, he's a great instructor who gives 110%.

Professor Acevedo is DOPE! I really enjoy his lectures and class discussions. Its for sure a safe space to speak about my social identity like race and gender. I LOVE how personable he is. He is happily taken, so girls- back off!! ahha

Mr. Acevedo is cool as hell! His lectures are very informative and all of his tests are based off his slides. He likes you to read the textbook before class but honestly, you don't really need it. He works with you when you have issues and always promptly responds to emails. Overall, he's a great professor that genuinely cares about his students.

Professor Acevedo is hands down one of the most understanding , interesting , and engaging professors I have had. His lecturing style makes the curriculum easier to comprehend. Hes very understanding and gives a reasonable amount of homework. Overall a really great professor and guy.

The class is really easy. There is a quiz once a week and there are a lot of notes but it really prepares you for the final and midterm. Professor is funny and adds a lot of personal stories which makes the class more interesting.

I went into Mr. Acevedos class without knowing who he was but im glad i took the chance. He is a great professor and i love his teaching. He makes you feel comfortable and safe in class. When he teaches its not boring at all and he adds his personal experience to make class exciting. Theres group quizzes every week, 2 papers and1 presentation.

Prof. Acevedo is top two best I've had the privilege to learn from. He is caring, genuine, and thorough. He gives very clear grading criteria, and offers extra credit for participation. I was going through a lot with my health, as well as my living circumstances when I took him for com-9 and he is very understanding, and will do his best to help.

Prof. Acevedo is one of the best professors that I have taken. His class is pretty easy. Quizzes are easy and are given once a week. As long as the class all agrees after the first two quizzes the rest will be done in groups. Midterm and Final are both based off of the exact quizzes taken during the year. 2 papers are graded primarily on format.

Took the class in the winter so it was fast paced but very easy to pass as long as you take notes and pay attention!

I took this class in winter 2020, probably one of the best classes Ive taken. Prof. Acevedo helps you understand the material and relates his life to the lectures so its easier to understand. Professor Acevedo was great. Took his com 9 online. He has clear expectations laid out. Each chapter we submitted a discussion response and quiz for each, two papers a presentation and and two exams. He grades fair. If you put in the work and give it a shot you should be fine. He also offered some extra credit which was nice. great organization.

In my opinion, Professor Kristopher Acevedo is kind, understanding and he does his best to motivate you. I was able to leave his class with a 91.25% even while I was struggling in life. He gave clear instructions on each assignment and wonderful feedback on your papers. If I could take this class again with the experience I've had, I 100% would.

I really enjoyed this class. There are two exams that are 50 questions and its timed I felt that I had to rush to finish the exam and that is what dropped me to a B an A is completely possible if you study. Be prepared to learn a lot about yourself and step out of your comfort zone. Recorded responses are mandatory. Overall, a wonderful experience

Professor Acevedo is an amazing professor with organized assignments. The assignments are based off textbook chapters and quizzes with a few projects towards the end of the course. There are also chapter discussions which cover the key points of each chapter which is a very efficient method to help students learn. Would take his class again!

Professor Acevedo is extremely understanding, caring, and fair in supporting students during tough times. All in all, he is a great communicator, fair grader, provides clear assignment details, and is such a great, relatable, Professor in regards to life outside of class. I recently took his COM9 class which focuses on men of color and it was an amazing class that helped me gain a new perspective. At first, I was nervous about participating and sharing out loud, however, Professor Acevedo does a good job creating a safe classroom atmosphere. I'll be taking the concepts we learned and applying them to my life.

I recently took his COM-9 class. The class was focused on Men of Color and it was the first time that he had done it. Very Understanding teacher, and he was also very cool! Very passionate about teaching. Gave 2 big papers, but as long as you do them, you'll Ace them.

Professor Acevedo is great!! He was extremely understanding when it came to submitting late work and making up quizzes. He has 5 speeches but the final speech is a group interview speech which is super fun and easy (as long as you know the speech communication process). Overall, very understanding and cool professor who responds quickly to emails!

Profesor Acevedo only required book you can find this online as well for cheaper, activities were online, only one meeting required. He creates a safe space for learning. Provides a good feedback and answer any questions you may have, I will take his class again!!

The professor is super kind and down-to-earth. Recommend reading/listening to the free textbook & resources. Easy if you make it so. Recorded videos for discussions and replies which helped me get more comfortable speaking critically. I didn't try personally but he will accept basketball challenges, you win = extra credit.

Public speaking was my biggest fear! You have to record speeches with a live audience (yes, for real), but it builds confidence. The 2 extra credit speeches boosted me from a B+ to an A-. Professor Acevedo is a great professor! He assigns a lot of speeches, which can be challenging, especially if you're taking a short summer class, so stay on top of it. He also doesn't allow late work to be submitted, but I did email him to ask. This is not to deter you from taking him, just be prepared for the class, he's great otherwise.

I took Dr. Acevedo's COMM-C1000 Public Speaking class. He's a tough grader, but it makes you better. There's a lot of speech prep (outlines/self-evals), yet I made it out alive with an A—but I worked for it! He offers solid extra credit. Definitely go to the CCE and get blue slips signed; it helped my speaking skills and boosted my grade! 🙏🏽

Taking this class as a High School senior I wasn't sure what to expect but I think there is a good amount of work but if you focus you can finish pretty quickly. Dr. Acevedo replies with clear emails to any questions which is great! I would recommend this class but just stay on task and check deadlines!

As a CCAP student, Dr. Acevedo really supported me while I balanced sports, clubs, ASB, college apps, field trips, extra college classes, and a part-time job… For his public speaking class, take the 3 main speeches seriously, and always have an audience and notecards. Gives great feedback, now I'm majoring in communication. Cool professor for sure!
