Prof. Hanson really cares and wants her students to succeed. She gives great lectures and makes sure expectations are clear. The course is great with informaion that will help me in so many areas. So glad I took this class!

She is a great teacher and loves the students. There are no tests! It is a small class so if you have a fear of speaking in front of others, they soon become your friend and it won't bother you. She wants her students to be successful. Take this class from her and you will be so glad you did.

Professor Hanson really cares about every one of her students, and does everything she can to help each person succeed. She is great about listening and finding ways to help everyone in the class become better. There's 6 speeches to give throughout the semester, but the timing is reasonable and you really improve a lot. It's a great class.

You give speeches every week, but the grading is VERY easy. Simply give your speeches, do better than the week before, and you have yourself an easy A.

Kristy is what BYU prof's should be! She's fun and upbeat which makes class go by faster! She grades fairly, she's understanding, and she's real. She understands we're students and just expects our best. Class is mandatory but there's no reading. The class isn't hard but the speeches take time to write and so do the self-critiques and practices.

Professor Hanson is awesome! She is great at helping students to feel confident with their speaking abilities. She gets it, and is there to help students succeed. Don't take this class from anyone else.

Expect to write a speech almost every single week, but there aren't really any other assignments in the class. I would definitely take this class again!

Professor Hanson outlines exactly what she wants out of the speeches. She prepares you very well and roots for you to succeed. By the end of the course, everyone improves significantly in their public speaking skills. If you show up, take the tips, take time on improving, you'll get an A. Also, lots of extra credit opportunities!

She's a wonderful person and a caring professor. I don't know if I really clicked with her but I appreciate having her as a teacher. I'm an organized person but details for the assignments were hard to find and the schedule was always shifting. Those are my only complaints. However, she is a great teacher and I would take her again for sure!

Kristy is one of my favorite professors at BYU! She cares about her students and treats us like a friend. This is the only class she teaches and she does an amazing job. You will need to prepare a speech for almost every week but it really doesn't take very much time at all. For the Final we went to the Sloan Speech Showcase. Try and you'll pass.

She is a great professor. The class is very laid back. You will have to prepare a speech every week, but it's pretty easy. She is super nice and funny! She loves her students and develops good relationships with all of us. Pretty easy and chill! Definitely take it from her!

Professor Hanson made public speaking fun! There were about 7 speeches the whole semester, about 1 every week, as we didn't have class the last month. She was a great instructor and taught us to be great speakers, I would recommend her to anyone!

She goes beyond being a professor to making you feel like she is your friend. You do have to give speeches, but that is what you do in a speech class.

Sister Hanson is the BEST. Take this class from her! You give about a speech a week but she breaks down the format for you so it's pretty easy. Professor Hanson is the bomb! There are a ton of speeches but that is expected being in a public speaking class. With each speech she goes into detail about what she wants and everything is laid out for you. Best part is is that there were no tests and no final! She is great at what she does!

She is awesome! You must attend class because except for a few assignments to go with your speech, you only have 7 speeches. You give the speeches in class. I would say this is an easy A-, but actually memorize your speech and prepare it before the weekend before and you should get an A.

Definitely one of my favorite classes at BYU, and one of the most real-life applicable. Prof. Hanson is a Lawyer by day and a Public Speaking teacher by night, so she practices what she preaches ALL THE TIME. She knows what she's talking about and she knows how to teach it in a clear, organized manner.

Public speaking is not my cup of tea--I was terrified for this class! But Professor Hanson was so great, she made it easy for me to feel relaxed and competent. She is so fun, caring, good to work with, and good at teaching. She makes sure class expectations and grades are very clear. Must go to class and do the work, but it's not hard.

I enjoyed taking this class from Kristy because she was qualified to teach us and she made learning and giving speeches easy because of her genuineness. Attending class is vital to getting a good grade which is not hard to do. Also, if you are looking to learn about fashion take her class because she slayed.

She was a very good professor. Each class, every student gave a presentation followed by a lecture for next class period's presentation. The class was very simple and structured, which made it easier for a student who was not very good at public speaking. She was very respectful, straightforward, and enthusiastic about the subject.

Sister Hanson was my favorite teacher this semester! No final and her class was so much fun. Also helped me get out of my comfort zone! Speeches and outlines for them were where most of the grading came from. Always got positive feedback and help when I needed! One group speech but the rest are individual and she tells you exactly what she wants!

She makes it doable and fun and you learn. There are around 8 speeches ranging from 1 1/2 min up to 5. Topics are open to your choice. No final & the class ended a few weeks early.

Dr. Hanson really cares about students and their well being as individuals. She is willing to work with you on difficult personal circumstances. Attendance is very important as it is a large portion of your grade and learning in general for this subject. She usually lets us out over an hour early!!! Challenged me but well worth it!

Professor Hanson is great! I hate public speaking but this class made it a little more bearable. Speeches are easy & usually around 2-3 min. Some other homework, but it doesn't take long. Some speeches you have to record yourself practicing, make an outline, or create a bibliography. Grading criteria is very clear for each speech & easy to follow.

Kristy is the best public speaking professor! She wants you to succeed and gives you clear instructions for each speech. I was terrified of public speaking but she made it really easy and no I like it! There is some work since you have to write your speeches but there is no final and no tests (only speeches). I LOVE Professor Hanson! She is kind, considerate, and really made an effort to get to know each class member. She makes the class a breeze; I never read the book and goth an A. She makes it clear what is expected and walks through each speechs outline to make sure we all understand. We write a speech each week but she makes it fun and so doable.

Professor Hanson was genuinely the kindest teacher I have ever had!! You have to take this class by her. You do have to practice your speeches a lot but she is aware if you are working hard for your grade. She is always there if you need help.

She is a little bit of a tough grader, but for the most part if you follow the instructions you will do well!

She is really great! She cares very much about all her students. Even though she has a busy job she's totally willing to meet with you and communicate outside class. The speeches you give aren't boring. You can give speeches on the subjects you're most passionate about. I wouldn't call it an "Easy A" but it kind of is.

Professor Hanson is the best. Her class consists of, as you might guess, giving speeches, publicly. You prepare your speech the week leading up, then give it in class. She is extremely kind, funny, and involved. She befriended all of the students in my class, to the point where we all felt comfortable laughing and sharing our lives with each other.

Kristy was really great. She is really easy to communicate with. She is almost always available to discuss assignments. She also really gets to know you as a person, it matters to her. She also really wants all of her students to pass her class with an A, and she will work with you to help you do that.
