You can't understand her at all, but she follows directly from the text book, so that makes it easier. Fair tests.
easy tests, but teaching is horrible ! She tries to explain herself ,but she goes so fast that after couple of minutes i always lost her. i just read the book .
Easy teacher but you must remember the high school stuff ;) coz she can't explain properly.
She knows what she is talking about but she can't explain what she is thinking about. She does follow the text book so this makes things a little easier.
Too bad when one gets a PHD no one teaches the person how to TEACH. This one also needs some ESL. And a the****...there was no need to walk out on us.
I paid to have a person who can't speak english teach math while facing the blackboard? Where is the qulaity post-secondary education York promised?
stay away from her classes period.
Teaches like Engerizer Bunny on Speed. Hard to understand - strong accent, teaches too fast, always has back to class. Tests harder than the homework.
I used to be a happy person.
horrible as a person. verbally abusive
she is great prof. i would always remember her.
worst teacher ever
She doesn't want to waste her time on students. Kristina is jeopardizing student’s careers as mathematicians, because she constantly tells us how stupid we are:" This is stupid answer and I can't take this bull****". Her words. Her teaching is
She knows her stuff but her biggest handicap is her inability to explain it to the class. Makes tests hard and verbally abusive. Quite a surprise for a professor. She is not good news for sure!!!!
really hard, her writing is a mess and you can't understand it. really mean adn verbally abusive. STAY AWAY FROM HER CLASS. PERIOD.
Avoid her class if you want to pass your course. The worst professor I have seen in the University. Verbally abusive and least helpful. She might know her stuff but she shouldnt teach 1st level courses. Beware!
A communication barrier exsisted (strong accent and messy writing) Best thing to do is copy as much as you can from the board and do ur hw. Don't let the ratings scare you, as long as u work hard, u'll get a good mark in return.
this woman is a ****.. ugly.. hard to understand.. exams not even similar to h.w... insults random students each class.. worst prof... ever.. if u want to pass this class.. dunt take her :)
hahahah. wow...she is so not hot.
Very disorganized, jumps from one topic to another.Comes late to class and very bad attitude to students.Seriously, i feel threatened sitting in her lecture.Bad teaching skills yet makes her test hard.
Odious, babaric, irritable, impossible, petulant, terse, curt, unapproachable, boring, death, sleeping pill, egostic, lacks in etiqutte, man-hater, atrotious, despicable, hard, nutcase, complex, contrite, stinks, wastage of money, needs a new weightloss routine or diet, has a bad hair day everyday..
Can't understand her lecture at all and her tests are sooooo hard to pass. It's a torture!!
A truly horrible experience. Don't take this class with her!
The average is very low. The exams are easy but focus too much on every deep details.Recommand you Donot take her class.
she's a horrible prof, and she's teaching it next year too, so we're stuck.
If u take this class, all u see are proves after proves after proves. Very difficuit course. Avoid if possible.
This class was a horrible experience...avoid the prof if possible.
She can't speak well, can't write well, and DEFINITELY cannot teach well. The whole class pretty much failed everything. I failed both tests and the exam, yet ended up with a C+ because of the belcurve...that should give you an idea.
had her for 1190 last year, and shes teaching 2320 in fall. its gonna be brutal :(
can't speak clearly, can't write clearly, can't teach clearly. it was HORRIBLE takin this class with her. extremely disorganized. the class average's VERY low. i admit that she's very smart coz' she just teaches from her head, BUT her teaching skills kill her students.
AVOID THIS CLASS PERIOD. Her offer of bonus questions toward ur test's marks is a LIE. Very difficult to understand through her accent. When u ask for help... she offers more confussion instead. Her tests are very difficult. Very little time to answer the questions. Don't bother taking this math class with here at all.
I'd do her.
Easy class, she bells curve. Fair test and exam
she is the worst teacher I have ever had. she is crazy. she says sth today and forgets tomarrow. she will attack you, if you want to remark your paper. I hate her with all of my heart. I hope that university expell this crazy woman.
The course is not hard but her horible accent and lack of desire to help make it one of the toughtest math courses. couldn't understand anything she was teaching. studied from the book.
I honestly think this woman has a chemical embalance... at times in class she is a boarderline psycho. She insults students on a regular basis and treats you like your in grade school. You can't understand a word she says, I ended up getting a B in the class but only because everyone in my class was an idiot, curved. Her bonus marks DO NOT EXISTS!!
Everyone has the same comment, that say something. I just want to tell you that I keep asking myself why I didnt see her rating before I took this class. I must be lied by her physco laughing at the begining of the semester saying "Dont worry this class is easy." Luckly I still can pass this because course itself is easy, just read the book.
It is a little hard to understand her at times, but if you really listen and pay attention, you will see she explains concepts very clearly. This professor is brilliant, no lecture notes, takes everything out of her head, she maintains good control of her lectures, tests are fair, and she gives bonus marks. She prepares you well for tests.
If you see her on ur class profs, just drop that course. I have nothing to say, just dont take her. It can be a nightmare so badly.
She teaches so fast. She's rushing thur her teaching as if she has a airplane to catch.
Difficult to understand...goes too fast, hard to follow cuz ur trying to keep up with the notes...very rude to students...picks random people to answer questions...not much homework...but her tests are hard...much harder than homework and class...does not count bonuses but bellcurves marks
Don't let all these -ve comments fool you.The -ve comments are from people who take the course because they have to (course requirements, etc). These guys haven't matured from high-school and expect things to be handed down in the form of recipe. (Continued below...)
I feel bad saying this.. But this class was an awful experience.
I will never take a class with her ever again. YES, she can be helpful if approached with a question, however dealing with her on a daily basis is incredibly difficult and hard to understand her, even with relatively easy material. Also she is sometimes downright rude and insulting to students. Do not take her class unless absolutely necessary.
This prof is something else. She doesn't bother to explain much, and considers you "stupid" when you ask her a question. Speaks a completely different language then what the textbook teaches. She needs to go on rehab. BIG TIME.
The best part of this class is finishing the final exam and never having to see this crazy lady ever AGAIN! worst prof. EVER!!!
I also had her for 1019. She is by far the worst professor ever. She not only cannot teach she harrasses you in her lecture. I've been called stupid everytime I sat in the front. It got so bad I stopped going to class. Even if you tell her the right answer she says your wrong and 2 seconds later writes the same answer on the board.
Can't teach, thinks its old european elementary school from the 1900's
She may be a good person outside of the class, but when you enter the class welcome to hell. Doing the homework questions and just by reading the textbook will get you through the course. However, listen to her prepare for doom. JUST RUN WHEN YOU SEE THE DEVIL!
I took this prof second year and she is by far the worst instructor I have ever seen. She talks with a horrible accent, she is rude and obnoxious and the tests are impossible. I dropped the course within the first month. WARNING: The best you will get is maybe 55% with some serious bell curving. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Take w/ Philip Olin!
Ok this is the story with Krystyna. She is a brilliant mathematician. If you are not prepared to change your attitude towards mathematics (and most people are not) do not take her class, you will do worse than you should. If you are willing to change your approach, and it is hard, you will have a life changing experience like I did!
"Sir/Lady what is answer?" "Lady... if you make life complicated husband leave you" "I call security on you" HAHA Best Prof Eva :) LOL
Run, and don't look back.
Great class, helpfull Proff.
I like her....
hard to understand...but she is definitely a genius in math. she makes comments that are absolutely hilarious especially since she has a hard accent.
She gives us bonuses. IN UNIVERSITY. Her tests are basically homework and what you did in class. Her handwriting's a mess. And she has a thick accent. And she sometimes has no idea what students are asking. But I like her. (: she's nice.
Out of 10 I give her a -log
Very knowledgable prof, enjoyed taking this course with her, very helpful and good class
She might not be the best, but it is possible to get a good grade if you study. She promises bonuses but she never actually gives them to you. And if you want to contact her... no way unless you send her a telegraph
You can tell she's brilliant, but her accent does set back how well she can teach you. She scares the crap out of you, but she means well; do NOT talk in class. Go to her office hours when you need help, she's much nicer there. Her bonuses dwindle out at the end of the year, but they definitely helped. She's not the best, but she ain't the worst.
bell curves like crazy, tests are fair if you study and do all your hwk...no tricks. Go to class everyday incase theres a bonus, stay ontop of your work, mostly have to teach yourself through the textbook.
yes her accent is hard to understand, but the textbook is literally her best friend. attend lectures, try to follow along, and then look back at the textbook. tests are based on homework questions she assigns. and her classes are funny at times, but i wouldn't sit in the front unless you want her to pick on you
Super hard to understand because her lessons are poorly structured, she doesn't do headings when saying new concepts etc. She goes superfast and does several examples instead of doing one example properly and clearly. Tests are pretty easy and she does a great job of letting you know what to expect for the tests the week of or the week b4 the test.
Terrible. Just terrible. I loved math in high school and she made me hate it! Her handwriting is awful and you cannot understand a word she says. I felt that because of her handwriting, I stopped focusing because I was too busy trying to figure out what she wrote. However she is a very approachable person, she gives bonuses and she is very sweet
aweesoooome =)
I honestly think she is a great proff, she really does care about us and wants us to do best. Thanks Krystna!
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. Worst prof i have ever had. Everybody failed the 4th test, so she had to drop it. Can't understand anything in class, and the tests can include questions that weren't even in the textbook. avoid this class at all costs.
Hard to understand
Come on she's not that bad and not that hard to understand. She definitely knows her stuff and gives you a lot of examples for the tests and exam. Plus she's unintentionally hilarious at times.
She's such a sweet person, I visited her office once and she boosted my mark just for coming. Her explanations are horrible, her writing is horrible. Bad experience overall, halfway through the year I went to my friends classes to learn the material.
I wish I read these reviews before I enrolled in her class. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. Her english is horrible, her writing is chicken scratch. One of the worst.
Hard to follow in class. Terrible writing. bad experience.
She seems nice but her horrible handwriting and thick accent makes her impossible to understand. Waste of time.
classes arent mandatory bc u just copy her notes which u can get from someone else. shes a nice person but shes hard to understand & confuses u on simple things. the lessons dont get titled & shes all over the place. her reviews for tests are amazing tho and her tests are easy but not worth much. the midterm and the exam are hard
Horrible professor. Can't read her writing and cannot understand when she talks. The questions in mid-term is fair but the way she marks your answers is unfair. One small mistake deduce 5 mark :(. Do not take class with her ...
I do not recommend her at all. She is unorganized, teaches fast and not clear. Her test are383 not easy, she does not prepare students for final exam either.
She's the sweetest lady, and you can get used to her accent, but the course itself is hard, and sometimes it's difficult to follow what she's doing in class. If you have to take the course, make sure you're interested in math and are prepared to put in the effort before lectures so you know what's going on.
Be prepared to study. A lot. Math 1014 is already incredibly difficult. Her lectures are really fast-paced, and her accent doesn't make it better. Luckily, her examples and lectures are based on the book, so study off of the book as much as you can. She provides in-class bonuses, so do attend. She's a nice lady, but she's not meant to teach.
She is horrible. Her handwriting is a mess, her accent is strong, and she cannot explain concepts at all. At first her tests seemed easy but then the exam was so unreasonably hard it dropped everyone. There were maybe 3 questions on the exam that we recognized from homework. Do not take the class with her.
Nice lady, with a thick accent, messy handwriting, scattered notes, and just plain horrible. The tests are based on the homework - but not the exam. Seriously, most of the questions of the final exam seemed to be completely out of the blue. Don't recommend, take with anyone else. And don't sit at the front, unless you want to be picked on.
her tests are quizzes compared to other sections. she gives bonus marks to students that show interest. Lastly since the midterm and final are not written by her, she gave us hints or useful formulas. I recommend to any 1505 student to come to the last few classes before tests , because she tells us specifically what to expect.
I think she was a good prof. Very helpful during office hours and tests were fair. The final exam was a little challenging, but still possible. She is a very nice lady and approachable. She is a little unclear during class, but as long as you read the section before hand, you should be fine with the ocntent.
She is better at helping during office hours than teaching the class, but she is good overall. Key to success is doing ALL the homework questions she assigns!
Avoid at all costs. Tough to understand her due to a thick accent, and her handwriting is almost illegible. Probably the least favourite course in my York U career.
Most difficult math class I ever had. She talks in a heavy Polish accent which is almost impossible to understand, her writing is very messy cursive because she does it very fast. Everyone in my class is just silent and rarely answers her questions since no one knows what's going on but her.
I like her.
She is not as bad as half the people say. Her accent is not that hard to understand if you are paying attention and she tries to explain everything the best she can. She is patient with a lot of students that ask silly questions. Also she tells you exactly what to expect in midtermexam. Lazy students skip class and expect 100% then blame her.
she just does notes of examples all of class. very unorganized and doesn't title the lessons. her tests are easy but not worth much. the exams are super hard and worth alot, she doesn't write it but gives a really good review. sit in the back cause she calls on people. overall its a hard course with any prof. she was ok
Tough to understand due to her bad writing, heavy accent and the fact that she over complicates the material. For example integrals are quite easy when you think about it, but her explanation makes it seem like rocket science.
She tells you everything that's going to be on the exam and has a very easy midtermexam question pattern to catch she does one type of problem over and over again. Lots of bonus marks to be made, only if you come to class to write the small quizzes. Fun teacher and funny German accent outbursts.
Very hard to understand because of an accent. Picks on people to answer very hard questions during class. She even kicked someone out of lecture once for talking. She is really helpful at her office hours though! Bell curves at the end and adds bonus' during class that she adds to the test marks.
Nice lady that has a rather thick accent. Takes time to get adjusted to. She is "bonus" happy, aiming to provide classes with an incentive to come to class as long as the whole class is present (so the bonuses don't really apply). Get ready to use the book a lot, though, her in-class lectures aren't enough to cover the complexity of the course.
I took discrete math with her -- lectures are pointless and if you think those "bonus" marks are going to help you don't be delusional they don't count. 100% of your grade is tests. My advice would be don't go to class except tests so she doesn't get to know you, if you have an attitude she will grade you harder. READ THE BOOK and you'll be fine.
