Very good professor. Explains things clearly, although he has occasional English grammar issues. Very helpful. Encourages student input while solving problems on the board. Strict on deadlines. Tests are hard, but grading is lenient. I thought I blew the final, but somehow I got an A in the class.

Math is not my thing but Professor Nong is a great teacher. He explains everything thoroughly and will go over it again if you don't understand it. He assigns a lot of homework but that's what he bases his exams on. If you have trouble with homework, email him and he will get back to you on same day.

I used to HATE math. I almost quit NVCC because my degree required it - after 18 years (not includ. preschool yrs) of hating math, Mr. Nong changed my perception of math. I mean, it's still not my fav subject, but now it's doable and I actually understand the material. Yes, there's homework but it really is easy points. Thank you so much, Mr. Nong!

Semester layout is a dream for self-pacers and self-teachers: no regularly due assignments, with one midterm and one final. Lectures are comprehensive but move much too slowly, are unengaging, and if you read the textbook, pretty much entirely unnecessary. Doesn't like to use online blackboard, however. Can be very quiet; remember to sit up front.

Here's a tip for picking your professor: At Annandale, they give the best professors the morning classes. This guy will NEVER get an 8:00am class!!! I never had a professor like him before. Don't get fooled. You most likely will fail if you take this professor. I feel like I just wasted my time and money. And regret ever taking this professor. Please look at another professor. I can't believe I just went through that class. This is my first class I ever failed. Thanks to this professor.

Professor Nong class is very different than other professors. He talks a lot about outside of class stuff which I found to be very fu, but some people might not like. Our class was 30% H.W 30% Midterm and 40% Final. We are allowed a note sheet on exam but his exams are hard. Overall, I would take him again. His style of teaching is very different

Professor Nong is very knowledgeable about his topics, his explanations are clear and easy to understand. The only problem I have with the class is that he often goes off-topic with things that aren't necessarily related to what we learning. There are 2 tests, midterms (30% final grade) and finals (40% final grade). They're both open-notes.

Professor tied what we were learning to real world situations, even tied new business ideas w it. Lectures were funny. Gave Exam answers in lectures, had reviews for exams the day before, HW is a completion grade. Professor really set the standard that he cares that you know the information more than the actual grade itself. 11/10 best prof no cap

Professor Nong is one go the best math professors I could ever ask for. Tests are open notes and match notes taken in lectures. He genuinely cares for students and is very helpful. He will sidetrack lectures, but that's only to give students a break from numbers and engage the class in a funny joke. I definitely will take him again in the Fall!

Professor Nong was generally a good teacher but not exceptional. He is very funny which makes lectures entertaining however he seemed to fail to see where students were struggling during the semester. I will also mention that if you have a hard time understanding professors with thick accents, then he is not the right professor for you.

He has a very profound understanding of math and is able to communicate very complex topics in an easy-to-understand format. He does assign a lot of homework, but it is not required to complete. He gives reviews before the exam, and you don't have to buy the textbook for his class because he provides a free pfd version.

Prof. Nong is a good guy. He wants you to understand what you're doing instead of memorizing formulas. That being said, you have to put in the work for this class or else you will not pass. Also, DO THE HOMEWORK, it can save your grade. 3 exams which are not that bad, usually have 1 question that could trip you up. Study hard and you should be good

Professor Nong goes at a decent pace and stops and listens intently to all questions. He shows many examples and explains them all in detail and relates them to real life. He gives lots of time for Homework and appropriate credit for hard work. He is also flexible in meeting and provides zoom availability.

Not at all an easy prof, very strict with his deadlines/criteria (he flatly told us if we miss the submission deadline for his synchronous online test we should drop the course). 20% is hw (no extensions and no partial credit) and 80% is just 3 exams. The material is NOT easy but helpful office hours + very small amount of extra credit is given

This was a very strict professor who seemed to never want to answer questions or had much to say if we needed help with problems or homework or assignments. I was having a rough time with this subject and during taking this class, things in life were going pretty difficult and hard. Would not recommend this professor.

This is a great professor, makes lecture topics easy to understand by giving real-life (sometimes personal) examples. Encourages discussion heavily but always listens and gives good responses, 3 exams all semester but they're heavily weighted for your grade, and MAKE SURE TO DO THE HOMEWORK as it can save your grade if you don't do very well

Not sure why people don't like him, he actually cares abt the students and them learning. He talks a lot though, but I hope he gets his ted talk one day honestly cause it's interesting sometimes. Curved our exams, and puts his number on syllabus. Time in class to answer our questions. Genuinely recommend.
