Best Biology teacher I've ever had.

Kurt is super, his notes are what are on the exam and there are no tricky question, if you take his lec, make sure you also take him for lab.

He is the best biology professor I have ever had, his notes are to the point and so are his tests. He is also willing to help you if you need it, and drops a test!mg

This teacher was great. His lectures were clear and very understanding. He had notes for each chapter and those notes were like a review for your tests but he still gave you a review for each test. Overall this teacher was a great professor.

I definitly recommend this teacher to everyone out there who is planning on taking gen. bio. His lectures are clear and his lecture notes are on WEBCT which is the best and his tests are a lil difficult but if you study you should do great. Very helpful and understanding.

I loved this class. Dr. Ellott is really friendly and nice. If you are serious about biology, take his class; if you want an easy class don't! One thing I really liked is that there isn't a lot of homework or assignments outside of class.

Good Instructor, great classroom lectures and humor. He provides ample notes on website. Tests mirror notes and lecture. The class was enjoyable, I was even tempted to take his Biology 2 class, and I hate science.... Top Marks

He was the best, most helpful instructor that I had at NVC. He even offered study groups and his lectures were comprehensive and included all the information on the exams, and there was so much to learn! Great learning experience from a great human being!

He is the best teacher at NVC. His lectures can be a bit confusing, but his study guides for the tests give you EVERYTHING you need to pass. Lab is dull, but that is only because of limited supplies at the school. Take him and you will have fun, learn alot, and pass!!

Kurt is the man. Even though he killed like a million hamsters in college, a great Bio teacher and has an extra open note test towards the end to bring up your grade. Great guy and everyone should take him.

He lectures fast, never uses the book, so don't buy a book but buy the lab book. If you study with note cards repeatedly you should do fine. Kurt is an awsome professor, good sense of humor and a huge cowboys fan. Just do all of your work and study and you'll get a lot out of the class.

Kurt Elliot is a great teacher!!! Very helpful, laid back, and all around cool guy. He wants his students to succeed and he can help ANYONE understand the material. He does text exemptions too. Just show him you ae trying and he will do whatever he can to help you out.

He's a cool guy with a great sense of humor. Don't take his class if you plan on slacking off. If you pay attention and actually study, you'll do fine. The material is really tough, but if you ask questions he'll really go out of his way to help you understand the material completely!

Dr. Eliott is not an easy teacher, he is paid to teach you what you need to know about A&P. If you take his class you will learn! He has a great sense of humor and that makes for a fun and interesting class. Great guy.

You will learn from this class, he has endless amounts of knowledge. Do you assignments and study the material he covers in the test reviews and you'll do fine. He has lots of other opportunities for grades aside from tests which help your average. He does make lots of jokes that put women down...if you can't handle that ..don't take the class.

this is a very good teacher. its not mandatory to go to the lecture class and you still learn alot. very funny and knows his stuff. would take him again in a heart beat!

Dr Elliott is really down to earth and understands that there is life outside his class. I had to study hard, but the reviews help you to focus your study. He is very intelligent but not geeky! Very student friendly. Likes to joke around and have fun in class.

This man knows everything. Dr. Elliot is definitely the best professor I've ever had. I've taken him twice now and his are the only classes that I ever look forward to and actually enjoy being in. Had Dr. E for both A&P I&II. He is by far the best professor I have had at NVC. Tests are hard but if you go to class, complete assignments, ask ?'s & study his reviews you will get an A (I got A's in both I&II). He is crystal clear in lecture and will stop for all ?'s. This guy is probably the smartest person at nvc. made the mistake of taking a summer class so it was harder than normal but he is a good teacher and he will help you out, does not want students to fail. He is funny and keeps class interesting , he says attendance is not mandatory but if you want to pass you should be there.

I had Dr. E for A&P II this summer. If you want to really learn, then take his class. You will have to study but it won't demand an unreasonable amount of time. Real nice guy, smart, knows what he's talking about and how to teach.

Great!! Helps w/ extra tutoring and gave his ph# out for questions. Make notes straight from the review and UNDERSTAND how the body works and you'll do great! You can't focus on memorizing b/c he tests u to see if u can apply what you've learned. No tricks just tests knowledge. No final if u get A's on all tests and labs. Possible? No final for me

Wonderful Teacher! Anyone wanting to learn about a science should take Dr. E. He is always there if you need him. I have taken him for two classes now and would tell anyone who has a choice of having him as a teacher to take him!!!

A teacher with a sense of humor and compassion of what he is teaching. He is hard, but worth it. Made the effort and took us to a cadaver lab (yuck), and opened my eyes to everything he has been teaching. Will take more of his classes, but ddistracting at times because of his good looks. :)

Talk about a silver fox! Seriously, the good things everyone has said are true and the bad things, well, i don't know where those people came up with such stories. engages the class in the material, puts a lot of effort into helping his students be successful; moves quickly, but posts very detailed notes online. You must focus and study to do well!

He is GREAT, and super handsome. The material is not easy, so of course you have to study hard, but Mr. Elliott is so helpful and more than willing to do so. He offers lots of extra credit on quizzes and exams, and if you meet the requirements, you can be exempted from the final exam.

This class was great. He was always willing to help out with questions. His reviews are awesome. I could have made an A but, I got the grade I deserved. Do your work, and answer all the questions on your lab (he gives extra credit for that). He makes the material interesting and fun. I wish he taught Micro!!

Outstanding Professor, to say the least. I took Bio 1&2 with him about 5/6 yrs ago. His passion radiates and penetrated so deeply into my core that,after finishing my B.S. in biology at UTSA, and now a PhD student in Neuroscience at Stanford University. I can honestly say, in all of my many years of classes, Prof. Elliott is tops the charts!

Dr. Elliott is fabulous! His class is tough, but it is very educational and he is ALWAYS willing to help. He is one of those professors that will go the extra mile for someone who is trying but struggling. If you try and participate regularly, he will definitely help you out and gives lots of extra credit opportunities but you have to earn them.

Professor Elliot was awesome! His class was difficult and it was mandatory to attend labs, however not lecture. I would always recommenced attending lecture, he tends to write notes that are not on the PP that will 100% be on his tests! His tests are hard, however EVERYTHING he writes on the board will be on test! Always willing to help!

yes Professor Elliott is hard but he provides everything. Powerpoints his own notes for each chapter and a exam review for every exam. You just have to do the work and study. AP is not an easy class but he makes it interesting.

I took the online A&P course which had many graded assignments, quizzes on concepts, separate quizzes on anatomy, and major tests about once a month. It's intense, interesting, and requires study time. Prof Elliott communicated regularly and offered help when necessary. He's a good instructor and it's evident that he loves the subject matter.

Dr. Elliott is the most amazing professor I have ever met in my entire college career! I took his A&P 1 spring of 2014 and I just finished his A&P 2 course fall of 2014, yes Anatomy and Physiology is a hard subject, but Dr. Elliott makes it enjoyable! Also he is very helpful! If you have a question, ask! He will help you! I would recommend him!!!

Lectures are always interesting. He gets you really excited to learn. You literally learn something new everyday. Test are challenging but if you put in time to study you're good.

Professory Elliot is not the tough one, it's the course itself. If you're dedicated in reviewing his lectures, completing ALL assignments, and preparing for lab quizzes and lectures exams you'll pass with the grade you want. He is also willing to help out students who ask for it.

Must view his lecture videos, complete all lecture and lab assignments. Some assignments and lab quizzes he allows you to do more than once for a higher grade. I truly enjoyed his course. All material all exams were covered in lectures and reviews. If you dedicate the time necessary to study for this course you will receive an A.

Took him for A&P I(face to face) & A&P II (online); gotta say online,he was a lot tougher! He likes giving MANY short-answer questions on tests, rather they should be called "long-answers" because they were just that!! He is fair, very knowledgable and gives great lectures. Gives review questions for exams,but expects you to fill in the answers.

Dr. Elliott is a really great professor. Yes the tests can be challenging, but A&P isn't supposed to be a super easy course. He is there when you need him and gives a huge amount of resources to refer to. Every week he uploads his lectures for the online students. If you don't get a good grade, it's all on you. It does require effort to pass.

Very intense as an online class but extremely knowledgeable. Video lectures, worksheets, quizzes and tests all require lots of studying and preparation. Totally worth it! Learned so much from this class and feel very prepared for nursing school.

His lectures are super organized and as entertaining as it can get, he uses Canvas (and quite efficiently), tests are not that bad IF YOU STUDY LIKE YOU'RE ACTUALLY A BIOLOGY MAJOR. Reading material is to the point. Don't miss Labs. A lot of the stuff you have to learn comes down to memorization (flashcards are your best friend). Great prof.

Great prof. Very easy. No quizzes. Just exams, final, and lab practicals. Gives review for exam and practicals, takes material straight from review. One group journal presentation in lab -- easy grade. LOTS of dissections (very fun). Not textbook needed. Ladies, he's not too bad to look eight either!

Dr. Elliot was one of the best teachers I've had. His class is challenging but helped me get into nursing school. Definitely take notes and attend class everyday. Save the notes for later classes. Do the reviews, same material on the exams. The lab test are computerized so study, study and use the online cadaver pictures he loves to use them.

Once again, Dr. Elliott has been amazing. I've now taken him for A&P I and II. I have to say that II is much harder, but if you study you can pass. I just took my nursing entrance exam and scored the highest on A&P, only missing one question. Overall, I made an A on my entrance exam. You actually learn with Dr. Elliott. Take him!!!

Dr Elliot was very helpful. This class itself, is not an easy class, however, Dr Elliot made it in a way that can be understood. I took Dr Stout for A&P2, and out of the two of them, I would still choose Dr Elliot. He made his class interesting, and not boring, and he has a good sense of humor. His tests are hard, but I would recommend him!

Yes the class is hard (I took online), but so was my first A&P1 class with another professor. YOU WILL LEARN IN HIS CLASS! I actually loved it because I came out of this with more knowledge than I did my first class. He is very funny, nice, caring, and challenging. My advice to you is take him study, make note cards.

Prof. Elliott is an amazing professor! I have taken him for both AP I and II, and can testify that he is hands down the best professor. His class is not easy by any means, but AP is not easy regardless, however, he tries his best to make the course as painless as possible. If you are awarded the opportunity, take him! You will not regret it!

Professor Eliot is awesome! I had a TON of anxiety about A+P1 but then I went to his class. Get ready for an exhausting amount of homework but I honestly think that's just the nature of the class. Key is to STUDY what he teaches! He's very strait forward about what you need to know and his lectures can make you snicker due to his dorky charm.

My favorite professor! Really cares about his students, but doesn't compromise when it comes to material that is required to pass. A&P is a tough course, but his expertise connects abstract textbook concepts with real life examples. His course has inspired me to continue on with A&P because he really hits home on how awesome the human body reallyis

Last class of my associate degree, and having an online Science class available to me with lab was an appreciative experience. Work has been busy and tiring, but I'm grateful that Dr. Elliott was able to teach A&P 2 online (no one else does online). At the end of the course, you'll learn to comprehend physiology and explain it in detail to others.

took 2401 & 2402 Mr. Elliott was the best professor I have ever had. Many videos on lectures, as well as weekly chapter tests, 3 exams 1 final , 1-2 labs online a week, 2 case studies, and 1 extra credit case study. This class is the best experience any of you will take! just make sure to work hard and do NOT slack off! Mr Elliott is awesome!

Great professor! By no stretch easy, he is tough and will make you work/study but he is fair. Tests are no joke, quizzes are hard, but homework helps retain info. Book needed, reviews provided. AP will be difficult no matter who you take. You will learn a lot w/ Kurt, don't be lazy! you wouldn't want a doctor/nurse who didn't study hard in school.

Prof. Elliot is awesome! Hard class, and you have to earn the grade and his respect, but if you put in the effort, he will help you in any way he can to succeed. I was failing at midterm and ended with an A because he gave chances to catch up. Watch the videos-there's extra credit and go through the exam reviews! I am taking him again for A&P II!

I love Prof. Elliot he is so nice and caring, and He respects his students. The tests are super complex but he does give out a review. However, the review is more like an overview of all the chapters and it can get a little frustration. As long as you have a tight group in the class and study for the test for a few days you can get through it.

Mr. Elliott is a wonderful teacher! I took his online A&P course and I was so glad I did! His test's are very difficult & the reviews were not helpful to me, so I read the book myself. He gives extra credit on test's if you watch the lecture videos. You are recorded on a webcam for all his lab practicals and exams. I would recommend him to anyone

I really enjoy Dr. Elliott's class. Genetics is a pretty tough subject to begin with, so expect to put in a lot of work. But the class is fun and Dr. Elliott, while a tough grader, seems to care about his students.

Dr. Elliott is one of the best professor I have had at NVC. He is super smart & always willing to help. He condenses his short answers for his test to make them easier. For test reviews, work on them and send it to him. He will revise it for you. 3 tests, 1 project, 1 makeup exam & 1 final. If you do well in lab & lec. you can exempt the final.

Prof Elliot is great but I would not take a course with him again. Lots of homework and it seemed like he made the exams as hard as possible (too many short answer questions). Professor Elliott is one of the best professors I have ever taken. I daringly took A&P 2 online during the summer semester. This professor really wants to make sure you pass this class. He records his lectures and makes sure they are entertaining, he gives you a ton of resources, and his exams all have review videos where he basically goes through the answers with you. Best A&P teacher to take. I would recommend!

Dr. Elliott was one of the best professors I ever had in undergrad. I'm beginning my doctoral program, so I've had dozens of STEM professors. He has, by far, the most invigorating lectures I've seen, especially for an online course. He has extra credit and even chances to replace a low exam grade. 10/10 would recommend Dr. Elliot
