Professor Kemp is one personable enthusiastic teacher who really care about his students performance not only in Spanish but also success in academia and life. He tries to provide the basic foundation for college survival that every student should already possess at this level.

While this professor was nice and easy, I learned almost nothing in this class. In Spanish 2, I expected more Spanish and less elementary study skills.

Mr Kemp is a very loving person who cares a lot about his students and helps them a lot...im a native speaker and he never gave me any favoritism..he treats everyone the same and you learn a lot from him. Very knowledgeable, his lectures are clear and tests are not hard at all because he covers a reasonable amount of material.

Very good teacher; once you get past the initial shock of him being a Caucasian that speaks FLUENT Spanish, he's a VERY knowledgeable and helpful teacher. The only thing I regret was not paying too much attention/slacking off, and now I'm too busy to take ANY classes...

For all you nay-sayers you should read the class description before you take this class. Instead of speaking out of your a**!! Professor Kemp is a great teacher, he takes his time in explaining everything. If you do the homework, the tests are no sweat!! The class is very group oriented, and helps you develop better spanish writing skills.

he's very helpful. Explain evrything very good and he's influent in English even though he is not a Sspanish native speaker.

One cultural project (research paper) with class presentation. He wants a folder with everything he hands out well organized. One must correct own homework -he'll check corrections. He provides the answer key. Very avanced spanish class, he expects everyone to speak spanish in class. He's just, don't expect any breaks. Do your work and you'll be ok

he reminded me of a kindergarten teacher. he likes to do group projects and do silly things. i dont recommend him if you actually want to learn to speak spanish.

You will do well if you all the work and grade it on your own. There is a lot of homework involved which is listed on the syllbus. There is only 1 test per chapter but if you study real hard, you should do fine. There were only 5 chapters the whole semester and the last chapter was part of the final.

Spanish 11 is an easy class. All you have to do is your homework and journal assignments and you get an A in the class. For the class exams he tells you everything before hand was going to be in there. His very clear on his teaching too.

this teacher is fun easy grade. tells you exactly what's going to be on test. He great offer extra help if needed and if its your first time he shows the campus. great.

Best spanish teacher i've ever had. This class is easier then high school. You do have a lot of work in the textbook, but he just checks to see if you do it. minimal extra credit available. He's fun and makes the class a little less dreadful. DO THE WORK, MEMORIZE and you'll be fine. easy B. have to work for that A

Extremely nice person who cares about his students. I took Span 1 in high school but this class is nothing like it and way harder compared to HS level. This class itself is not hard and the prof's teaching method is great.

I loved him! he was so easy. You just have to do your work and understand the material and you have an easy A. He doesn't throw any curve balls. His study guide is pretty much identical to what will be on the test. I definitely recommend his class!

He's really nice if you need him for anything well even talk to you during his own lunch time where some teachers kick u out. Great teaching skills cares and is thorough work for it a little = A+ also cool he speaks like 5 languages one of them korean

Very nice professor. No quizes, tests are all hand-written, no scantron (except for the final). Only thing I didn't like was the class was a little slow-paced in the begining, but then went too fast near mid-semester. A test every 2 weeks. It was hard to learn new material and memorize it before the next test. Other than that, Muy recomendable!

HE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A EASY SEMESTER WITH NO WORK, DONT TAKE HIM. HE GIVES ALOT OF WORK AND YOU HAVE LIKE 5 TESTS ON TOP OF YR FINAL. This was the easiest class of the semester, very clear to explain everything, if you want a easy class take it, test every 2 weeks but are extremely easy because are exactly the same as the class.

He is an amazing teacher, by far the best spanish teacher I've ever had. Come to class with perfect attendance and you get extra credit at the end of the semester. Ask questions, he's so open to answering them. If you need help, let him know he's soo sweet. It will require some studying but take notes and review before the test and you'll be fine!

By far the best spanish teacher I've ever had. He is an amazing teacher. You will have to do work, though, but he doesn't count against you for getting answers wrong, as long as you try and complete it you get full credit. Plus if you get perfect attendance you get extra credit. Take him. You won't only enjoy it but you'll learn a lot-great teacher

Awsome teacher!!!Took him for winter and i have to say that i learn so much. The class is interesting and you learn so much about yourself as a latino as well.Turning in all your work and get A's in the exam, as long as you study for the test you will do great...recommend him to anyone!!!!!

Professor Kemp is a great teacher. Just make sure to submit online homework on time. Tests are easy because he goes over everything that's going to be on it. Can only miss 2 class sessions so attendance is important. Made spanish fun and easy. Must do one oral presentation at end of semester, and he calls on people at random to answer questions.

Do not take this class if you want a breeze. If you want a good grade, you will have to work for it! But, Prof. Kemp will help you the best he can! He goes over every test the day before so you know what to study for. Some homework assignments aren't covered in class, but if you take good notes you will be okay! I highly recommend him!

I loved this class it was super easy. I did all my homework and had everything organized. If you study and pay attention in class it will be a guaranteed A.

Professor Kemp was great teacher, hes so passionate about his teaching and you can tell he genuinely wants you to succeed. We didnt use a textbook which is a plus and he was so helpful for any questions we had. Its so easy to get an A, definetly recommend taking his classes.

Pretty cool teacher, easy stuff. He can be a little annoying sometimes, and stubborn but trust me he's easy. Just show up and try your best chances are he'll pass you.

He doesn't use a book so that's a plus, but he does use grammar worksheets. Just study your notes and do the work and you'll pass. At times, he can be a bit picky and treat students like children, but he does it to get you to learn the subject better. Overall, he's a good professor.

No text book is a bonus. If you're looking for an easy A this isn't the class. You will have to study a lot and do the worksheets and class attendance is very important. But if you attend you will learn a lot. He goes over everything until everyone understands which is good.

Yes you do need a book. He is picky but he just wants to see that you follow directions well and care about the class. He's is great teacher he try's to make sure you learn the material, he is very nice easy going just do the work and you will ace it. He is very patient.

Book & accesscode is mandatory for online hwk. 1 project, 3 tests, & final. Gives partial credit. Perfect Attendance is extra credit. Very helpful, but fast if you didn't take High School Spanish. Take him! Sweet professor!

He's a great teacher on the Spanish subject. Be prepared to read People and watch music videos in class. Sounds like fun? Yeah, until you didn't pass the quiz because you forgot how old Cheyenne's kids are. This is a Spanish gossip class. He's great on the Spanish language. Horrible on everything else. The final is worth less than other assignments

Professor Kemp is an over all good teacher, but he will not work with you if you are late to class even if its 5 min. He will drop a whole letter grade, he will state that it's due to non participation in class. 2 tardies equals 1 absent

Mr. Kemp was a great teacher. He was very helpful, easy and a fun class to be in. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking into taking Spanish. He goes over the materials before each test and gives you a lot of what is going to be on the test.

Professor Kemp is a great teacher! He takes the time to explain the homework and prepares you for the quizzes and exams. Participation is a must! I though I knew how to speak and write, but taking his course allowed me to be a better intrepetertranslator. He is very approachable and is always willing to speak with you in person or via email.

His class can be a lot of work, especially if you are not used to paying a lot of attention to details, but easy enough if you do all the reading and follow instructions. He cares about his students' success and will be there for you if you make an effort to work for your grade. Very patient and nice guy; loves his subject, which helps a lot.

I'm not sure if it is what he does or what he doesn't do that makes him a great professor. He doesn't make fun of you when you get things wrong, doesn't get mad, and doesn't get picky. Patient, and explains things a few times if you didn't get it the first time around. Tries everything he can to make the class fun and enjoyable, not just a chore.

He is REALLY into his subject, which makes it fun because he picks music and reading that are actually interesting for class. Gives you a chance and understands if you are sick and have to miss class (but can tell if you're making it up or if you were serious, so don't try to bs him). Nice guy, helpful and patient. Do your work, show effort pass.

He is very helpful, nice, and approachable. I took the class just to fulfill the humanity requirement but he made the class very fun and I'll get out with good vocab. The book is definitely required (new with online code) and there is in my opinion a good amount of homework but if you really wanna learn spanish I would definitely recommend him.

Professor Kemp is by far the best professor I've had!! His lectures are the best he makes it easy to understand! I took the 8 week course and at first I wasn't too sure how I would do it but he made it so easy! If you miss a day he lets you make up for it! He cares for his students! I recommend him!

Really good professor. His Spanish is spot on, sometimes. He really loves doing what he does. The class ain't easy so you need to work hard in this class. If you miss a day of class, you can make up your absent by going to one of his other Spanish classes. Take this class seriously and you will pass. There is a presentation.

Professor kemp is by far the best professor Ive ever had. He motivates his students to work hard. He really cares about his students and does not make fun of them if they make mistakes. Be aware that there will be a lot of homework but it will definitely help you on the exams. Very kind professor and so organized.

I took professor Kemp in Fall 2018. It was my first time taking a Spanish class but he explained everything very clearly and made it understandable. He does make you do a lot of online homework so be prepared. He gives you a study guide so you know what will be on the exams. Would recommend for beginners it's an easy A.

Domingo Kemp was the best Spanish professor I've ever taken! He is clear on what is expected, prepares his notes for the class to follow, and will give students the opportunity for extra credit and missed class. This class isn't easy, but showing up everyday, participating, and doing your homework will make an A obtainable. He is extremely caring.

Best language professor I've ever had! Although I had no knowledge of Spanish beforehand, I'm proud to say that I've learned how to write and speak it correctly, if not fluently, in just one semester. Apart from the textbook, he provides grammar handouts for each lesson. Although he's not Hispanic, his Spanish is very fluent and teaches it well.

Professor Kemp is such a kind Professor. He cares so much about the success of his students, not only in his class but in general. He expects a lot, but helps you along the whole way. Quizzes really arent too bad so long as you study, and there is always extra credit. Homework is tedious, but really not that difficult if you keep up with it.

Prof Kemp is the best professor ever at Mt. SAC. Period. I took him for both Spanish 2 and 3 and I love his teaching style. I am not a native speaker by any imagination and I was just a white boy trying to learn Spanish. Prof Kemp is the GOAT and everyone needs to take him if you can. He is so awesome that I wish I could take him again.

Overall an amazing professor. He makes learning Spanish easier to understand and enjoyable. There is a lot of hw, but it will allow you to practice what you learn. He provides study guides for each exam and extra credit opportunities! He will also go out of his way and show you campus resources! I absolutely recommend him especially during Winter!

So I am currently taking Prof. Kemp for Spring 2020. We have to have class through zoom (because of the virus) He is an amazing professor. He is definitely there to help you! if you have questions, you can ask him after class or in office hours! he is there to help you. He wants you to seriously be successful in the class! Professor Kemp is the best teacher on campus! I took him for Span 1 and Span2. He transitioned online during the quarantine very well considering that he did not use Canvas before. The class was very interactive and enjoyable online. He makes learning Spanish very easy and understandable. I am planning to take him again for Span 3. 100% recommend!

I absolutely love Professor Kemp! He's the best professor I've had at this school. He is super caring and wants you to pass his class. He gives you his personal cell phone number so that way if you need help on anything, he'll be there for you. He also responds really fast! His lectures are good and exams are easy. (still in his class) I know ZERO spanish and never grew up around it so with that being said taking this class I currently have a B and will go up (hw added later). there is a bit of hw some weeks but others its quick and easy & you can turn in any work late(he just takes off points for days past due date).He helps his students. take him!!

First and foremost, having Professor Kurt Domingo Kemp as my professor will forever be one my favorite memories from Mt. SAC. He is more than fair with his grading. To pass with an A you'll need to participate in class, attend class & makeup missed classes, complete VHL HW & study it and turn in quality work with the projects he assigns.

Professor Kemp really cares about his students and wants them to learn about the culture and fully immerse themselves in it. He gives great feedback and will get back to you quickly. The twice a week zoom study meetings really helped as well! As long as you try your best in this class you will do great :)

Really enjoyed taking Sanish 11 (Spanish for Spanish speaking) with Professor Kemp. This course was in person. No textbook he gave us handouts to complete in class. Course was interactive and fun to learn. Participate and do the work. Professor gives encouraging feedback... invested in his students.

Take his Span1 ASCH class; he is a great professor. He will give you feedback on each assignment, and he will also review with you on exams we take and check what we miss. Do all his homework and discussion board, and you will do well in his class. He helps you out by sending you reminders on canvas on the days there is something due.

Professor Kemp CARES about his students. Every detail of the assignments were put in extreme detail on each submission page. He gives great individual feedback and is willing to help you outside of class if you are having any problems. I have NEVER had a more dedicated professor.

Professor Kemp is wonderful!! Took his course winter 2015 and It was in person. Wasnt hard just had to learn accents and syllables. There was a report at the end and final included keeping your binder organized with all the work from the full course. Hes not hard just listen and follow instructions, take notes. Span 11 Is equivalent to Span 2.

Prof. Kemp is an amazing teacher, he gives his ASYN classes extra credit by attending his zoom classes that will give you further help with the work, and tests especially if you have never taken a Spanish class at all. He is very patient and willing to always explain anything you do not understand

Professor Kemp is great! He provides opportunities to receive extra credit through zoom meetings.Tests are just like study guides although tests are done through honorlock. There was one final project at the end that was very easy. I was able to still receive an A without extra credit but if you are someone who struggles with spanish id recommend.
