Real sexy...got to love his self murmuring...
WORD OF ADVICE....DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS
He is all business in the classroom. However, He is one sexy-man on stage with his band pugsly. How many Profs do you know that play trombone in a punk band?

Not the best teacher, but not bad either.

Should be teaching lower level coursses
HORRIBLE!
I like the man, but honestly his teaching style really didn't help me at all. He just didn't explain things that well in class, and he made many mistakes as he did example which made things more difficult.
Confusing!!! I ended up dropping the class. Not very clear, got his own practice problems wrong often.
horrible teacher, learned nothing and test were easy but just cause u pass them dont mean he will pass u!
i had to take this simple course for my major. all of the students in it complained that it was too hard and that he was a terrible teacher however, i just think that some students are morons. it was amazing how easy he made this course.

some didnt like him but the class was so easy you did not need much help and if I did he was always available PUGSLY not bad either
Makes sure most of class understands material. Does not go too fast. I find it a good class, and easy to learn. All of you idiots who are hating need to punch yourselves in face and try something that suits you better, like dishwashing
If you like reading and teaching yourself the material, then this is the guy for you. If not, DON'T take him. He assigns readings and gives quizzes, but doesn't teach the material until after the quiz.
he is SO bad OMG!!! worst teacher i've ever had. should really not be teaching core classes like calc 1. get someone who know's what they're talking about! talks to himself, and is often jumbled and disorganized. AVOID IF YOU CAN!
ludwick is the absolute worst teacher ever! His quizzes have nothing to do with the material on tests. He has a really hard time being put on the spot and being asked questions...he rarely knows how to answer them! DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER SERIOUSLY!
His tests are nothing like his lectures or the homework...
He seems helpful, but when you actually contact him for help he acts like you're an idiot for not understanding the material. Very unclear. Takes off points on tests/quizzes for the stupidest things!
nothing much else to say except he may be good at math, but he is not a teacher. If you ever check this, you might want to look at a career change. I have taken math clear up to diff eq, and he is the worst at teaching the material
Let's just say he is the reason I changed my math major to history. He was the most BORING teacher I've ever encountered. When asked for help I was told "don't be discouraged if you don't get calculus right away, many people have to retake the course." I had taken up thru AP Calc in High School!
This class is a snoozer, bring coffee. Quiz every week. Nice man, poor lecturer, speaks with a slight lisp. Never understands the questions people ask. If you answer a question, whatever you say will be wrong, even if it is really correct. Wants students to do well, but doesn't know how to teach.
My worst math teacher.I never really enjoyed math classes but I did good in them and understood math until I took his class.Even though he might be good in mathematics, he can not teach this subject. He has his own theories that not a lot of people understand. Majority of the class dropped the course
Boring lecture, easy quizzes, short somewhat difficult tests, homework means nothing. All you do in class is copy his examples from the board. He gets WAY too excited about Math and makes jokes only he understands...
Decent lectures followed by brutal quizzes and tests. Often grades on a curve. Is very willing to help in and outside of class. He tries hard, but the content is difficult. If you put forth a good effort you will do fine.
HAD to DROP: his lectures where examples straight from the text on the board, then he would test you on something entirely different. HORRIBLE professor and just plainly cannot teach.
I'm a senior and he was probably the worst teacher I have had at Salisbury. When you make mistakes on tests and quizzes, he practically yells at you through written comments. Don't take this guy unless you absolutely have to (like I did).
Not an easy class but it's calculus III so that isn't expected. Does have a lisp but apologizes for anything unclear. He does his best to make sure you understand and quizzes are a piece of cake if you study basics. Tests are just a little harder than quizzes. If you study a little, you'll be fine.
concepts of class are very easy but he does not teach. tests are easy and he grades homework which can help your grade.
some of the material u have to teach urself bc he doesnt n the day be4 the test he will teach u all this new stuff! but does give u a review sheet n the answers. its not that bad of a class!! can be boring n weird! but we do group work all the time which makes time go by fast n hw not hard at all
DON'T TAKE. It's ironic that this man is trying to teach us how to teach when he can't even do it himself.
I would not take him if I were you. Most of the time, it is group work or boring lectures by him which you don't learn anything from. He gets too sidetracked by his jokes that he only thinks are funny. The only time he will teach you is if you actually go to him after class.
very easy concepts and easy tests but you have to teach it to yourself. he expects you to know how to do everything the way he wants it done. pretty boring class and all you do is busy work which he collects and never retuurns
He is a little droll at first but once you get familiarized, he is very funny. Teaches through examples and reminds you of Milton from Office Space. Makes sure you know the material before testing and accepts blame if the majority of the class does poorly. I recommend him to everybody.

He's awful and impossible to understand.

He is a great teacher..he expliains things well and is happy to explain things in more depth if u dont understand. Sometimes boring but hes a good teacher for the course.

I agree with a past comment. His examples are horrible and he doesnt help at all. You ask a question and he definatly dodges it.
i would not recommend Ludwick because half the time he doesn't know what he's talking about and students correct him and you def have to teach yourself the material and he always goes off topic and tries to make jokes but yeh no one laughs..i ended up dropping this class
I've had him twice now and he isn't as horrible as people say. He is always willing to help, even though he seems quiet. He messes up a bunch but thats human and he'll work things out in class multiple times so people will understand. Math is hard and professors tend not to get good ratings because of difficulty but he really is a good teacher.

He made a class hard enough to begin with even harder to understand. Not good at explaining proofs and messes up a lot. makes a lot of bad jokes. Tests very difficult and questions not always covered in textbook. If you can avoid him do it unless you are good at finding other resources besides him and textbook.
He makes the material harder than it is. Cant stand the lecture. Talks about like two problems the whole class and doesnt get to the equations till the last 5 mins.I learned more reading the book and taking online quizes. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Im not kidding. Dont even consider taking him. It will be the worst mistake you've made.
Smart, hot, and funny. Plus he plays the trombone.
Probably the most boring class I've ever had. He resembles Milton from "Office Space" and makes really bad jokes. The material is pointless. I think I had more freedom in high school math class than I had in his class.
Horrible teacher. Made everything more difficult than it already was. Didn't cover much in class because he got stuck on one problem for the whole time. Harsh test and grades. Tried to get help from him, and he was very condescending. DO NOT take!
He is a great professor who is always willing to help you out and give assistance. He makes silly little jokes all of the time to lighten the mood and teaches the subject well.
Teacher is halarious, his habits keep me awake during his boring lecture... you will know what i'm talking about if you take him. I love the class because he takes it slow and is detailed. Don't take him if you are advanced in math
This class is the worst class I have ever been in. The teacher doesn't make any sense I had to go to MATHHELP all semester just to understand what he was talking about, if you are in this class get out while you still can!!!
This was by far the easiest teacher I've had at SU so far (in 2 years). Explains the material very slowly with plenty of examples. Happy to answer any questions. If you're as bad at math, as I am, this IS the teacher you want, at least for 155. I dropped 155 the first time I took it. Now I'm easily getting a B.
This teacher is the worse. Im pretty good in the math field and he just simply sucks at teaching. I dont know how he is still allowed to teahc??!! DO NOT TAKE!!!
LOVE HIM!
I took this my second time prior to having Kunciw. You can check out his website from the school directories page. He follows the syllabus pretty well. Only collects 3 homeworks total- done on Minitab. Buy the book for practice or attend every class. He also uses MyClasses. There are only 2 tests and a cumulative Final.
Very helpful and knowledgeable professor. I learned so much in Music and Mathematics. I had no knowledge of music and still received an A in the course. Overall, Mr. Ludwick is a very good professor.
Don't know why he's rated so low. He teaches the material very well, the material just isn't for everyone. I had to take this for my COSC major, fun at times, boring at others. He tries to keep it interesting (his humor is great, although no one generally laughs), but he can overexplain at times. Fair teacher, proofs suck, definitely take.
He is useless! I took a class with him in the spring and it took him over a month to get half the hws back. Took two weeks to get a test back. Very poor professor and very hard to understand. He mumbles and goes off on tangents where he talks to himself. Wouldn't recommend taking any of his classes. Unwilling to help at all!
Easy at first, then gets a bit confusing with the cosets. More of patterns than math. I studied for hours each day before the final with other students and still found the final to be a challenge. Notes are all written all over the blackboard and are confusing to comprehend as they are often crammed. No practice problems done in class, just notes.
Decent teacher. Tells corny jokes. Sometimes is hard to understand. Not great but not awful either. Lectures from examples written on board.
Easy class as long as you keep up. He's kind of corny but really nice one on one,and pretty decent about grading. He doesn't count attendance but if you miss a lot of classes you'll fall behind; he usually lets you make up tests though. Just take notes and put some effort into the homework and you'll be fine.
Took him for math and music. Honestly one of the worst teachers I had in 4 years. This is supposed to be an easy course for liberal arts majors but let me be clear IT IS NOT. He's vague, gives bad study guides, surprises you with new material on exams, has limited office hours, and no tutors to help you. Oh yeah, the final is cumulative. Have fun
OMG! I have him now for Math & Music and he's AWFUL. Completely boring and he rambles terribly. The only good thing is that he doesn't really grade you on attendance. But watch out because you can fall behind if you don't come to enough classes, especially since the text book is just as bad as he is if not worse! He's a music department reject.
Your better off trying to get another professor. I was left with not really much choice. He can be unclear and picky about what he wants on HW and tests. He can mumble and ramble at times too. I would go to tutoring for help they weren't much help at all b/c they hated the taking the class to. Nice guy, but him teaching that class is not the best
I take his classes every chance I get. His tests are fair and his homework isn't overwhelming (unlike a lot of other math professors). He really wants his students to succeed. I feel like I actually understand the material after his class, which is strange since math isn't my strong point. His class is entertaining but most of all he's fair.
SUPER easy class. He is a very good professor. He is boring as he talks about the same concept for a long time but I suppose he is just making sure everybody really understands which I can appreciate. The tests are easy, there is very little homework, he goes over everything in class, he gives study guides for tests and plenty of optional practice.
I've had better math teachers and I suck at math so that's saying something... Homework contains things we didn't even go over.
This class was extremely boring for someone who knows the basic concepts of trig and algebra. He explains things so much and counts down seconds until class is over. I would not take a class by him.
This was honestly the hardest math class I've ever taken, and that's coming from someone who loves math. Ludwick's lectures were very confusing- he often goes on long, unrelated tangents and doesn't outline general concepts or procedures for solving problems. His "notes" consist purely of random examples. Expect at least 2 online hws per week.
DO NOT TAKE KURT LUDKWICK!!! The class was EXTREMELY boring and he was very confusing. The only reason I did well in the class was because I took AP Calc in high school. But I had to teach myself everything that I didn't know. The homework is a lot harder than anything he actually does teach. Practically fell asleep every class, but do not take!
Ludwick is not a bad guy, he is nice and a little qwirky. However I dont believe teaching was his true calling. Never expect to leave early, keeps you to the last second. Homework was not bad. But his tests are 5-7 questions, and the questions are much harder than homeowkr or anything we did during class. Would not recommend taking his class.
AWFUL! I WILL NEVER TAKE ONE OF HIS CLASSES AGAIN PLEASE AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS IM BEGGING YOU HE MAKES NO SENSE.
literally awful teacher. Doesn't go into detail about anything. DO NOT RECCOMEND
He does his best to be as personable to the younger generation as possible. He's pretty awkward, but he is very nice. Academically, he does very little in class. I lived and breathed from the textbook. The only thing he did in class was discuss questions that pupils got wrong on tests or quizzes. Homework is online. He takes attendance as well.
Did not teach us anything, had to try and learn it all on my own. Dropped and will be taking a different professor
Very Confusing teacher. DOES NOT Teach, only reviews what problems students got wrong on homework. WOULD NEVER TAKE ANOTHER COURSE BY HIM
Terrible at explaining concepts, expects you to teach most of the material to yourself outside of class, which some people may like, but it doesn't suit my learning ability at all. One upside is that he is a fairly lenient grader, he's also a very nice person, just unfortunate that he can't teach very well.
The only reason I got an A in this class is because I took AP Calculus my senior year of high school. Professor Ludwick managed to confuse me on concepts I already knew. He is not good at explaining topics and most of my classmates were completely lost, but his grading system makes it easy for most students to get a decent grade. Do the homework!
He is the worst professor I have had in my entire life. Doesn't give guidance on his "self taught" class. The textbook is useless and going to his office hours for help is only more confusing. It took him all semester to hand back homeworks from months before. To sum up the semester, he gave us info about an extra part of the final the day before.
Very nice guy! You can tell he really cares about your grade and is willing to help you and be flexible.
So Unorganized. Literally knew nothing about SI sessions. Not one person I've talked to has had a good experience with him. Does not get straight to the point on anything in class. I felt like I was flying blind this whole semester. Wouldn't recommend this teacher at all.
Dr. Ludwick is definitely a good person, but as a professor fails in a lot of regards. His lecture only consist of us filing out guided notes which doesn't help you to learn the material at all. His tests bring in random topics we haven't talked about or used in ages. He's inconsistent with emails, but a pretty lenient grader and cuts some slack.
Dr. Ludwick wants to see all of his students succeed, and as long as you try in his classes, he will help you out. His lectures are a bit monotonous and tend to drag, but Calculus is not an easy class so going to lectures was necessary for me. He can get a bit unorganized, but I never had any serious issues with him.
Great Person
I had him the 2nd time I took discrete math and he was MILES better than my other professor. He would actually explain things to make sure students understood the material and always had a great attitude. He was always helpful and made it clear what would be on the exams. Definitely recommend taking him for Math210
Dr. Ludwick is a bit disorganized as a professor but overall, I have really enjoyed having him as my Calc I professor. The only issues I see are that he comes in a few minutes late sometimes and overthinks problem examples done in class. His treatment of students and unique grading system show he genuinely cares about your success.
Has the world's greatest grading system. Don't lose points on quizzes and exams can only gain points. All test are cumulative but if you master a previous topic on a test or quiz you don't have to answer that respected question. Gives many opportunities to retake quizzes and test.
Professor Ludwick was great - really cared about students' understanding. Lectures were helpful, and using unstuckstudy along with the textbook made studying a breeze. Definitely recommend for an engaging MATH210 experience.
