Hedoesn'tReview 4 the tests. Use IRAC on tests.Use notes to prepare4testsNotBook
Hard, But you will learn alot.
great teacher, doesn't mind answering questions in class. his exams were all essay questions.
Hard but fair and a great teacher.
Good teacher very clear and concise. Study hard for exams and you will be okay.
Definitely HARD. Only 2 tests, not much points in the class. Pay attention, ask ?'s. Thought I was going to fail, but gave a phat curve!
Professor Saunders is one of my FAVORITE TEACHERS! He was so organized and clear in his lectures he made it impossible NOT to understand what he was getting at. Great Lecturer. Tests are pretty hard but if you study and pay attention you should be Fine.
Professor Saunders is nice but hard. His classes are pretty organized but his exams are tough, especially the essays, but I think he's a fair grader. Just read the book and ask questions. He won't mind answering them from what I saw.
Go to class and study the material. He's very helpful and answers all questions in detail. He comes to every class well prepared with creative examples. Tests are a bit on the hard side, but if you studied you'll be fine. He grades on a huge curve.
Lots of reading, hard exams, but a good teacher and nice guy.
Saunders is one of the best professors I've had and he's interesting in class. Sometimes the stuff covered in this class is a little dry and ts not easy to get an A, but you'll learn alot. He doesn't mind answering questions in class.
I didn't know what to expect when I took this class but its one of the most interesting ones I've taken. He really knows this topic well and you can tell he enjoys teaching. The exams are TOUGH because its all essay but they're open book. I learned alot!
VERY organized and thorough. GO TO CLASS. You must read for this class but the reading is sometimes very difficult. When you go to class Saunders dissects the difficult reading and makes it understandable. Lots of multimedia, music, movie clips, internet sites used to enhance lectures. A+++++ ;
You can enjoy the class if you stay up on the reading, very approachable teacher
His class is quite boring and his exams are hard. Read the book and attend the class, u'll be fine.
I never went to class, but got a B. The tests can be tricky. My biggest complaint about him is the way he grades. There are only 3 exams (2 midterms & the final). All 3 total 100 points possible for the class (33 points midterms & 34 points final. If you miss 1 question, that's 1% of your grade & you can only miss 10 for an A in the class.
this teacher is a freaken hard. his tests are like taking a bar exam, what the hell is he thinking. dont ever take this teacher, his unfair, he doesnt even review before a test not fair. dont ever take him. if u want an easy way out his not the teacher u rather take another class instead. DONT EVER TAKE HIS CLASS! his teacher is NUTS!
Extremely organized. This is a class you need to come to class also prepared, read the assigned chapters and pay attention to his lectures, he makes it so clear and understandable, you'll learn right there and then. His lectures are very interesting. Homeworks are fair. One of the best professors. You'll learn a lot.
It's simple. If you go to class, take good notes, and read the chapters and problems before the exams, you will do fine. He makes the readings very ckear and he doesn't mind questions and likes discussions in class. Very approachable and fair over all.
Professor Saunders is one of the best professors I have had. He knows his stuff and has several works published. He is a great teacher who takes time to explain the material to the students in and out of class. He is currently the department chair of the business law department and deserves the position.

Kurt is a great teacher: clear in his expectations, an outstanding communicator, and a thorough scholar. His standards are high, but if you pay attention, go to class, engage in the discussions and use common sense, the experience is very enriching.
Prof Saunders is a great teacher and a nice guy too. He didn't mind talking to students after class or in his office about questions. He made us work hard for a good grade but I learned alot when I took this class.
Grreat teacher, you learn a lot on his class, BUT you need to read all the cases he assigns because he picks on you and deducts points. He tests hard, know the material extremely well. READ THE BOOK AND CASES! BELEIVE ME
This guy is full of himself. Very bright and lets you know it. Also lets you know how little he thinks you are. His tests are rediculous, one question on the 1st exam was worded so poorly (by his own admission) that you could end up going down a completely wrong path. He's one of the worst I have had, EVER.
HARD. grades extremelyyyy hardd!! thats it! cool teacher but you must go everyday and know everything..One midterm/final only 3 questions thats it and theres alot of material!! GOODLUCK
You will learn so much in this class, you have to show up, read the cases, and pay attention. I enjoyed this class so much! The only BIG thing is the test are pretty hard, you will need to know everything. As much as I studied and KNEW all the material, the test were tricky and I would get B's on the test. He curves.
he is an excellent teacher with thorough, detailed explanations. You will learn a lot about the law in this class. However, his tests are extremely hard!!! also, he grades very subjectively, as the tests are all essays. If you want to learn a lot, take this teacher, but beware! It is nearly impossible to get an "A"
Good professor. Lectures very well. Be sure to participate in class frequently as the points can help at the end. Be careful on his tests as the questions can be ambiguous at times. On essay, be as detailed as possible. If you keep up with the material and know your stuff for the test; you should do fine. Good luck future Blaw 308 student.
Tests are very hard. He can add a piece or two to a question that will make you confused as to what answer you should put. The material is not the same on the tests as the material was used in the class.
Very interesting and fun class and good prof. Part of the grade is based on participation in discussions, so volunteer. Essay exams involve alot of writing, but I enjoyed this class.
This was a hard but useful course for anyone majoring in business. Go to class because he explains things very clearly and will answer your questions even by emails.

Good teacher, nice guy. I thought my grade was fair for the work I put into the class. That's all you need to know.
He doesn't check attendance but go to class anyway because his lectures explain whats in the book and he gives good examples and doesn't mind to answer questions.
I liked this class and thought he did a great job of explaining everything and making class interesting most of the time. There's no attendance requirement but participating in discussions is required. If you like law classes, you'll learn alot from this one.
Tries to make a difficult and somewhat dry topic interesting. Very into class participation and discussion. This is one class you wish there were a term paper because exams are hard!!!
One of the best professors at CSUN.
If you want to go to law school take him. His tests are not easy, but you learn alot. He's more interesting with the ent. and int. prop. law, as opposed to international. Take him if you're willing to do alot of reading and learning.
Honestly, he's everything you would want in a great professor and more. Gives great examples, cares about his students, and makes attempts of keeping the subject light, interesting, and a lot of times pretty funny. You'll work hard, but really get a lot out of it, also he'll sit and talk to you even off the subject for an hour if you'd like.
Excellent teacher, terrible grader. Fun class, attndnce not mand. but participation is mand. I really recommend to partic, it'll help points cause his tests are hard & he grades them very hard. i never learned what he expects from us when he takes points off, so make sure know what he wants from the class and really follow otherwise you'll fail.
One of the best BLAW professors at CSUN. Highly recommended.
Great teacher for Bus308. I learned a lot. His tests are tricky, but he grades extremely fair. Participation is a huge thing so make sure you participate if you join him! If I have a chance to take him again, I would.
Good teacher, simple straight-forward lectures, but hard tests and a tough grader. Participation is mandatory, he radomly calls on people to answer questions. 3 bluebook exams with MC, TF, and essay question. Tricky tests!
Classes are insightful and informative. He's very helpful and material is easy to understand but grades very HARD. 2 midterms and a final.
Tests are unreasonably difficult. Class is graded based on three non-cummulative tests; no HW, definitelly no extra credit. The lectures are interesting, but it seems the guy thinks his students are not too smart...If you ask him a question, he has this smirk on his face...If you take his class, read the chapter and memorize everything!
He is a great lecturer. However, if your GPA is important for you STAY AWAY FROM HIM! His tests are extremely tricky. I read every single chapter and understood the material and got a C+. As far as I know the highest grade was a B and many many people failed the class.
Teacher has interesting lectures. Has 3 non-cumm. midterms and 10% on participation. No one really does well on tests. This is my major and my test scores are not reflective of my knowledge. Nice guy, not willing to give etc. or negotiate his essay grading. I hope I don't have to take him again.
His lectures are clear and interesting, with a touch of humor. Tests are half essay, half MC--and fairly hard. However, his grading on the essay part is fair--for instance--if you have the wrong conclusion but your arguments are stated correctly you get points for that.
Good Teacher, Easy class, HARD GRADER!!! YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE in class or you will do bad!!
class is not easy but he explains very good and he's funny too. Very hard grader but fair. If you read all cases and brief all them then you'll be prepared for the exams. I recommend him cause you'll learn a lot from him.
Watch out for this teacher! He has 3 test and no final. His lectures are good, but his tests are hard. In fact, on average most students get 17 out of 30, so everyone usually fails-every test! He curves the final, but if you're coming in with a low grade what does it matter. Watch out for using a pencil and double spacing...he takes 3 points.
His tests are HARD. Q's are sometimes tricky, essay's(IRAC) can be time consuming. However, he is definetly one of my FAVORITE professors at CSUN. If you have to take this class, take him! He makes the subject easy..& is pretty funny too! If you go to his office hours he REALLY helps u out. Class participation COUNTS so speak up!!!
GREAT TEACHER!! YOU CAN TELL HE LIKES TO GO BY THE BOOK, BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT HE KNOWS HIS STUFF AND IF YOU PAYED ATTENTION, REVIEWED THE NOTES, AND READ THE PROPER PAGES IN THE BOOK, YOU WILL DO FINE. IT'S CALLED STUDYING GUYS. LOL GOOD LUCK, TESTS ARE TRICKY, BUT IF YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF, YOUR SET. ***PAY ATTENTION TO DIRECTION!!!
classes are interesting and fun, but his tests are extremely hard. 3 tests, no final. The average test score is 18 out of 30. Hard grader!!!
He is a great professor. He is very helpful. You must careful about your iracs. You must be through. Overall, he is very funny. I would suggest him to all mg friends. You just need to pay attention and take notes and you will do fine.
Took him for 409 and 450. He is FUNNY (for a law prof) and dedicated, but goes by the book mainly because he wrote it (them if you take multiple classes concurrently). If you're a BLAW major and care he will provide great insight, as well as challenge your logical process (helps with the LSAT).Don't believe me? Feel free to browse the illiterates
He is an extremely hard grader! If you truly care about your GPA, I do not recommend him. Tests are extremely hard and you are under a time contraint. He's sweet and nice but that does not make up for the hard grading. On the plus side I did learn a lot, however, my knowledge did not reflect the grade I recieved.
The lectures are almost more important than the readings because of how in depth the discussions are about the concepts. Plenty of opportunities to participate both in briefing the case in class as well as doing practice cases (in which he more than welcomes discussion). He grades on a curve, but tests are difficult so don't rely on the curve
He is a very nice person who cares about the students' learning experience. He will not be nice while grading the exams, but luckily the final grade is curved. Lectures are interesting if you are interested in the subject, and he will challenge your thinking process. He will not spoon-feed the material, so the reading is required to pass the class.
Very interesting class! I would take it again. Professor Saunders is a tough grader because he wants you to understand the material 100%. Participate in class because it counts toward your grade. Be prepared to be called on in class if you don't participate or randomly. Overall, he is great! Interesting and relate-able subject!!
The best professor I had at CSUN. He makes the lectures very interesting. The exams will challenge you, but make you a better test taker. If you are serious about learning and actually want to go to law school, I would highly recommend taking his classes.
This guy was great. The subject itself was intimidating, but he made it applicable to everyday life which made it easier to understand. He appreciates those who participate and actually try. Strict no cell-phone policy, which is necessary in order to take in all the dense info. He's a cool guy and is very funny. This class was awesome.
He is very bad instructor at CSUN because he does not care about his students. His tests are three tests half MC and half essay question. If you read 100 times the text book you cant respond MC questions on the test because his MC questions are his owned multiple questions. 3 hours just you have to talk about ridicules cases. no one understand ...
He does not explain anything at class, and just talks about 10 minutes of each chapter. The students must talk and analysis the cases at class. Boring and wasting time class..... hard grader... a lot his answers to students is I don't know because his knowledge is based on textbook.
He is very hard grader. Three tests MC and essay question . The time is limited and his mc questions is his own questions not textbok. his knowledge just is textbook because a lot of questions students ask him and his answer is I don't know. The first semester you have to order your coffin because the last semester you are in it. Don't take him.
not easy class because you have to analysis of his supplemental cases at class. Study, study but low grade. The textbook is required but his MC questions is not easy and is based on his MC questions. three hours just you have to talk about cases. boring class.
If you need your GPA don't take him. This class is very boring and many students will be regret why they take this class. Very boring class and his tests are very hard. I hate this class because I did not learn anything at this class. Just paid my money for wasting time.
In general, BLAW 308 is hard and he makes harder. Three tests half MC and essay questions. The half of class are failed in three tests because you have to analysis a case like a business law student. He does not explain anything just talks very brief about each chapter then he says you have to read text book. very confusing and boring.
Some students say this professor is easy but you have to ask them what is their majors. Yes their major business law. If you want to pass don take him because he ruins your GPA . Very very hard question on his tests , and does not explain completely each chapter.
He is very very very harsh grader and not helpful looking for other professor
While the subject was tough, he did well in explaining and helping us understand. He would relate material to real-life situations which constantly made the subject easier. The tests are tough but if you pay attention in class and study/read on your own time, you will do fine.
his method of teaching is very boring and sometimes students don't understantd the material. three hours you have to talk about cases and analysis them. Randomly asks students to discuss about cases , and his case problems are very hard. harsh grader and it does not worth to take this class. he does not care about students and his tests are hard.
Yes, he is harsh grader and he pretends that good professor but he is not. He tries to give low grade to students, and his tests are very hard and 70% of class are failed for each test. stress and stress and every week you have to study a lot of cases because he randomly asks the students. very confusing , hard, ......
People who say he is good professor they are this professor ass lickers because this man is not helpful at class and he tries to give to students low grade. don't take him . I m not joking don't take him.
It's a hard class because he makes it hard. The questions on the exams are designed to ensure that you learned every little detail from the textbook instead of focusing on the major points. 10% of the grade is participation. I wouldn't recommend this professor.
It seems this class would be hard so the second week I dropped because I need my GPA.
One of my favorite professors I have ever taken. Extremely helpful during office hours. He is very clear during lectures and you learn a lot. Tests are extremely hard. You really have to study, show up to class having read the chapter, completed the case briefs & always participate! Take him! really learn a lot if you're willing to work hard.
He doe s not explain completely for each chapter. he has a lot of cases in class that nobody know about it because his cases are not related to chapters, and he tries to wasting time. His MC questions are very hard and long like a story not MC. confusing .....
The tests are very hard and you have to care don't grammar mistake because he point off for a little bit and bring your GPA low. every week you have a lot of cases to read because he asks you every week. The class is boring and students wish to finish the class time. in general BLAW 308 is not interesting and he makes more boring.....
Solid dude. Very easy going, friendly, and helpful. Took BLAW 280 and it was not easy, but very fun. Make sure you go to every class and always do the reading. Your effort is critical and you must make sure you understand these concepts to pass. Grade curve was absolutely necessary. Highest score on midterm was a C.
He is not respectful professor because he likes to ruin students grade. Half of the class failed ................. If you are looking a good professor is Bruce Zucker.
He is very bad professor when he comes to grading . He has a lot of case study assignment that it does not help to improve your grade. His presentation is nothing and this class is wasting time. Hard hard hard class
Professor Saunders is amazing. Read the textbooks and do the case briefs before class. If you do that lectures will be amazing and you will find the materials to be straight forward and easy. Business Law is always fun regardless of the professor so I don't why most people on here are saying it boring and am not even a business law major
I read these reviews before taking his class and I thought, it might not be so bad. I was wrong. The lectures aren't too bad but his grading is terrible. 3 exams (MC and IRAQ essay questions), 30pts each and 10pts for participation. Avg on each test was about 15-18pt range and he curves at the end. Very very tough! I felt like I studied and got NW.
This class was fun and very easy(if you don't skip class, read the textbook before class and do the case briefs). He is very strict with his grading tho but once you come prepared you will be fine. Class is full of fun discussions so just get involve and get participation points. I got an A in the class so yeah you can too if you put in the effort
So helpful during after hours. Very engaging in class and passionate. Makes scenarios in class then uses it on the test so show up and take notes! Grade was dependant on two tests, one paper, participation and was curved. Learned so much and would take for every BLAW course if I could. Make sure you understand concepts bc tests are challenging.
Final grade consist of 3 exams 30pt each, and 10pt participation, no extra credits. His exams are ridicuously hard for non-blaw majors. 1 hr to answer mc questions and write 3-5pg IRAQ format answers. Class avg per exam is around 15 out of 30, so yeah.
He is one of the best law professor i've had at CSUN. Though I am a mkt major, I took BLAW 450 as an elective. Best decision i ever made. Not only was it interesting but it was also a breeze. Do all the readings ahead of class and listen to lectures and you will be fine. Take good notes since test are open. Read each question carefully!
Would definitely recommend his class. Three non-cumulative midterms. Read the assigned pages ahead of class and pay attention in class and you'll get an A.
One of the best professors at CSUN! Very clear and concise! Work hard.
Amazing professor!! I highly recommend him!!
So many students dont ask questions, when professor Saunders will answer them. Test are tough but real life situations, so if you fail.. Failure Always Involves Learning. Stick with the class, and ask questions expecting to learn international trade laws. Keep up with the reading, a lot can pass by missing a class session. Good structured agenda.
He posts online lectures and does live chat discussions. However the average grade for the midterm+final was 50%. He says he will curve, but you won't see your curve or know where you place until grades are finalized and put into system. This is a time consuming class; you really have to understand the material to get a good grade. Not easy at all.
If you want to do well in this class, do ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT he offers. It's a lot of work. Reading, listening to audio lectures, doing briefs, participate in online chats, etc. I did average wise on tests but better than class average. Each test covers a lot of info, so don't expect to do well no matter how much you study. Again, DO EXTRA CREDIT!
Saunders is a great professor, he cares about his students. He does take the time to discuss in his office hours what you're missing. Funny professor. If you're looking to someday go to Law School this is a gr8 course to take because it's structured just like a law class. Extremely difficult. Must be analytical. Graded all off tests/participation.
Prof. is fantastic and can convey his knowledge to students, unlike others who know a lot but can't teach. Students complaining about him don't like reading but rely on in-class lecture. That won't work! You have to read the book and come to class already prepared. The class was so engaging you really enjoy it. Not pursuing law I started loving it.
He's really kind and honestly amazing. Everyone can do well in his class, but it requires reading. His multiple-choice questions are difficult, and they mostly come from the reading. He's also a great, funny person. People may down grade him, but it's because there wasn't correct studying done on their part.
The professor is just great, he knows his material. You MUST come prepared to class by doing the readings (a lot) and its easy get behind if you don't. His tests are difficult but are open book/open note. If you are coming to class consistently you should be fine. He's funny and kind!`
He's a great professor. Getting an A isn't impossible in the class; you just have to train yourself to get into the reading mode and really understand what you're reading. If you're organized, it won't be impossible. His classes are overall enjoyable. He gives a lot of real-life examples so you know what his exams are like.
not a bad guy but grades harshly. says there's a curve at the end but if someone gets 98-100% there's none. 3 tests determine ur grade, get anything bellow a B on any of them u don't get an A. U can get 100% on 2 of them and will still not get an A if u get a C on one. really bums u out. lecture on first day of class, no days off. have to committed
He's a great professor with very clear and detailed lectures. He's knowledgable on the subject. He expects participation in class discussions. He doesn't give homework and you are only graded on exams and participation. He's overall a really good professor and would definitely recommend.
Professor Saunders is an outstanding instructor who genuinely cares about his students. Whether during office hours or via email, he's always available. His teaching approach is clear and engaging. His class is very interesting and encourages students to participate and succeed. I truly appreciated how responsive, approachable, and ethical he's.
If every professor was as straightforward and great as this guy we'd have world peace.
