This is a great professor, fully experienced, very intelligent. You learn so much from the class and fellow students. You could freely express your ideas and concerns. The class consists of discussion questions and quizzes from the book. Great class and professor wont regret it, if you really want to learn

If you follow the PPT and his exam review you should be good for the exam. I didnt study for the exam but I still did ok. He gave partial credits and This is not fare to blame the professor. As a student, we have responsibility to study above all he gave us the makeup exam.

I absolutely loved this class. If you go to class and pay attention you should have no trouble passing and getting an A.I love how he give real life examples. Would highly recommend him.

Hes a good professor but he rambles a lot. He could drag a simple 13 slide presentation for an hour and a half then complain that we are running out of time. He does say some inspritation things but then repeats that same thing about 10 more times afterwards. The class is 2 midterm and finals. He curves midterm only if youre failing. Study hard

Professor Thakur is amazing! he will make you work for you grade which means you have to participate (he keeps the class interesting/interactive). You'll learn a lot in his class since he keeps you engage and thus you won't regret taking him. Amazing lectures connects the lecture with real world.

One of my favorite professors. Really nice guy and Id hope to come across him again. Clear grading criteria. One MT and final if you study youll be fine. One group project and some online hw, really easy though. He also can get you job opportunities. Very well respected and not strict at all. Love him

Group presentation, 2 midterms, 1 one final. He knows a lot about the subject but don't think his lectures helped. He is a nice guy - reachable after class, not on email. The class is on Saturday and with 70 people, he knows majority of the names. HW answers online. Class avg for 2nd midterm was C- so it's a hard class and only one person got A

Professor Thakur is Excellent and genius. As a transfer student from a community college, it was difficult for me to adjust here at Baruch. The expectation is high. Baruch is a well-reputed school, and he tried to mantined that. I utilized my time correctly, and it was easy for me.

I am ESL student. It's not an easy course, but if you follow his instruction, you will be fine. I get the highest grade in the first two exam. Take him if you really want to learn something. There are two midterm + one final. Each exam is comprised with 25 multiple + 25 true and false + 25 short answer + 25 essay.

Dr Thakur is a great professor. He truly wants all of his students to pass and wants your to excel outside the classroom as well. Hes a busy guy outside of the classroom but I have seen him personally offer people great oppourtunities. Great guy to network with and you will learn alot!!

Honestly, I think he is a very good professor. I have learned a lot in his class. He gives us a clear message that we are here to study and learn not for the party. Highly recommended.

Probably one of the best professors you'll take in Baruch, very easy going. Don't be disrespectful to him and he will treat you as a friend more than a student. very understanding and easy going. Its never too late to increase you grades in this class. MUST TAKE.

Class was graded on homework, SAM, Midterm, and Final only due to the pandemic. Professor provides review sheets on the exams and homework was easy. Only con was that he really sucks at replying emails.

I took this class second time. It looks like the CIS department designs the syllabus and workload, so no matter who you take, the course with workload will be almost the same. Professor Thakur is the best, knowledgeable, helpful, and makes it interesting. Just follow his directions, and in the end, you wouldn't believe how much you know about CIS.

There's a lot of people complaining about this professor recently during online learning with the pandemic. I'm gonna keep it real with you, if you don't mind having your camera on just take this class he is by far the best CIS professor. He assigns one hw every week or two which is all on quizlet and his tests are simple af if you review a bit.

Professor is nice, actually enjoys teaching and you have to stay on track. You have excel assignments on Mindtap (Sam) and you have to do assignments on Pearson.

Probably the best professor Ive had so far for my fall semester. Met up every Saturday and he would hold lectures. Then would give us reviews that are almost exactly similar to the exams:) also is just overall caring and lenient. Make sure we are all comfortable and he is passionate about the material and his students !!!! Def take him no joke.

An absolute GEM. I'm so glad I look his course, like seriously listen to me and take him. HE WANTS YOU TO PASS. He is so inspirational and just overall motivates you to be a better you. I haven't taken the final yet but with his teaching skills I feel like Ill pass the class with an A!

He wants all of his students to succeed. If you don't pass his class, you did nothing because he literally puts an A in your face. All his exams are based off of what he says in class. He even gives extra credit sometimes. Do what he says by the due date, participate in class so he knows your name, and do what you have to do, you will get an A.

I learned a lot about making smart algorithms and making applications in SWI-Prolog and Python from professor Thakur. Although his lectures are long, Technical,he has a special way of taking difficult topics and presenting them in an easy to understand manner. I would definitely recommend taking any course taught by professor Thakur .

His brilliance is unparalleled. I went to Stuyvesant High School then transfer here at baruch , He is by far the best professor i have ever had. High-paced, high workload, but well-designed assignments. Very good at encouraging students to do their best and a pleasure to work with.

Great professor and a good guy overall. Helps the student as much as he can and gives really good reviews . This was a hybrid class which made things a little more difficult but just go over the slides and read the textbook, reviews and you should be fine. He gives really good advice for job interviews and presentability. I would take him again

In my project group there was two guys. Honestly did not do anything , one guy did not talk entire semester nor even voice , only bother whole semester, I had to repot them to professor . Did nothing entire semester. Professor tried to help everybody equally. Now these people coming personally attacking professors for theirs short coming.

honestly, he discussed everything with me outside the class when I needed to. He is a good man, does his best for online class. He also takes into consideration participation which is fair. stop spamming bad reviews. He is kind and super understandable. Always communicated with me if needed. Ok. So probably a lot of people didn't like him, but I think Professor Thakur is a good person, he was there for me personally, because I was there for the class. And he tried to make difficult projects easier. So mostly it's up to you, but with a good attention you will be good. Good luck)

I've taken CIS 2200 twice and thought I would never pass this class, however professor Kutub made it possible. I will forever be grateful for how he looked out for me this semester and recognized my efforts. Don't let the reviews fool you, Kutub was easier than the last professor I had for this class. However If you prefer rigor, take someone else.

If u want A without doing anything he is not the one. He is knowledgeable and helpful, if you are professional and respectful he will help. It is obvious that same person writing those unreal stories everyday 5-8 times. It is impossible to someone receives that much reviews everyday. Who ever writing these false negative reviews instead get a job.

If you have even the most basic background information on CS you'll do great in his class (What an IP Address is etc). The class is very easy and Professor Thakur reads off questions from the exams when doing reviews, while also giving a review sheet. He gives you everything you need to pass, just pay attention and he literally explains everything.

Overall, a great professor and knows the material very well. Definitely not a hard grader and goes over everything. Tests are a little tricky but not hard. Would definitely recommend and you definitely learn a lot about cybersecurity.

Amazing Professor with good sense of humor! Teaches so well that people with some beginner experience in cyber also learned a lot. Case study slightly hard but he goes over them in class and you can submit that night for full credit he is flexible. Honestly i learned a lot form his class. very easy class.

The professor can be hit or miss, but if you stay engaged, the class can be worthwhile. The material is manageable, and the textbook is helpful. Unstuck study proved to be a game-changer for study prep - it's a great supplement to the lectures.

V. interesting subject, an excellent professor with a deep knowledge; he presents complex material in a clear and engaging way through real-life examples with detailed explanations, encourages participation; flexible and very respectful; two exams, a few labs & short assignments, and an individual project that is the hardest part of the course.
