very helpful!!!
I love Mrs Chui. I learned a lot even though her class was really easy. Quizzes and tests come directly from homework problems. She will tell you that you calculated a problem wrong on a test, and let you redo it!! It's an easy A class!
She was a great teacher. Went way above and beyond to help me out. She came in on a day off. She definately graded pretty easy. But she was starting to grade harder near the end so not sure if it's still and easy A. The nicest person I've ever met.
Very helpful and explains material well. Helps you out w/ the upcoming test material and tells you to "make life simple"...GO CHUI GO!
Mrs. Chui is by far one of the best Calc teachers at UF. Her lectures are very thorough, she's always willing to help in and outside of her office hours. Her tests were challenging but not impossible. Do the homework and you'll be fine!
she was the best teacher i've ever had. so helpful, it'simpossible not to grasp the concepts!
Loved her, nicest person I have ever met and the best teacher. She'll make you love calc and want to be a math major
She is amazing. Nicest professor i have had. She holds reviews before tests so there is no reason not to do well. she leaves no one behind and always takes questions
I'm still in this class but I know I will get an A. Except for the 2nd and 3rd quiz (I got 0 and 5.5 respectively) I got a perfect score on every single quiz/test.(28/20 on test 2) That doesn't mean you can slack off though. I study a lot! wait...test 3 is tomorrow. oops
She was an amazingly helpful and caring teacher. She is one of those teachers who you can't help but like. She is kindof easy, but you learn most of the stuff you need to. Overall A+
She's amazing.
Thank god she teaches diff eq now.. and I wish I had her for calc 3.. but im stuck with some other guy. Oh well. She is awesome and if youre going to take mac2313 or map2302 then you better get her section. she's so nice and makes other professors look like dimwits.
SUCH AN AWE$OME TEACHER!!!! TAKE WHATEVER SHE TEACHES!! She makes calc3 and diff eq look like algebra 1. god i wish she taught all my classes.
AWESOME...the other ratings are NOT AT ALL exaggerations. Actually teaches the subject unlike some others and has good focus.
most amazing teacher ever. she is such a sweetheart. she cares about her students. she is like an elementary school teacher teaching college math. TAKE HER OVER ANYONE ELSE!
Chui is the best math teacher you will ever have in college. Take her if you can.
She's and incredibly caring teacher! Probably one of the nicest math teachers you can have in gollege.
Chui is the best math teacher I've ever had, probably the best teacher ever. She is incredibly good at what she does, which is communicate complex mathematical complex with a clarity that almost makes it fun to attend class. Her incredibly warm and caring personality shine through despite the rather dry subject matter. Make every effort to take her.
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!! Sometimes goes fast, but she makes diff eq easy for anyone!
These comments are right- she really is a great teacher! She is so helpful and makes sure that you understand what you are doing as you go. If you can, take her for math and you will be very happy.
she's awesome, and kind of gives really nice exam reviews.....hint hint
She is awesome! She always makes sure everyone understands and is really nice.
total hottie! and she's very very nice very fair grader
Mrs. Chui is awesome! So nice, go to class because she'll give you extra credit. All you need to do is do your homework and pay attention in class, and you're guaranteed an A. Missing a few classes is okay, but its best if you go. Tests are not hard either, a lot of the same concepts in the homework shows up on the tests, so do the hw!
Her quizzes can be tough. Good overall professor.
Email sent from her after her third test because there's no partial credit: The drop date is coming up soon, someone told me it's this SUnday. IF that is true and you need to make a decision, please come get the test and if you need to, you can discuss it with me if there are not too many students waiting to do the same already.
Just awesome.
she is a great great teacher. VERY helpful. her office is always packed with students during office hours. very nice. just make sure you go to class everyday. she takes attendance for bonus points and doesnt have sympathy for those who dont show up. very fair, very reasonable. she is the best calc 3 teacher ever!
Best professor ever! Had a wonderful time in her class. She grades fairly. Tests were not too hard. Always willing to help. Would def. recommend taking her class.
everything was easy and fair in her class, best calc3 prof by far. easy A
Very helpful, puts aside a lot of time for office hours. She takes attendance but it only effects your grade for extra credit in the end. Her quizzes are easy if you study before hand. But the mandatory final was wickedly difficult.
Shes really nice and the class isnt too hard. Put some effort into the quizzes and youre good to go.
Ms. Chui is the best calc teacher! Her lectures are clear and straightforward. She gives 10 quizzes instead of test, and then a final. If you do the homework and attend class, then no problem. Also she gives extra credit at the end for attendance. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! She is so nice and will help with any questions you have, and hints for quizze
Ms. Chui is so amazing! She teaches so well and clearly you don't even need to read the chapter to do homework. The quizes are there just to make sure you come to class, but you get so many drops, they really just help boost your grade. Her tests are pretty easy, she grades fairly. And the most important thing--she's SO nice!
Chui's a great teacher. Her lectures are very clear and she gives plenty of examples to help with the homework. Her tests are fairly straightforward and, while they aren't exactly easy, if you study they're very manageable. The only complaint I have is that she writes REALLY fast, so it's hard to keep up in your notes while paying attention.
Mrs. Chui is one of the best professors I've ever had. Calculus 3 can be tricky during certain sections, but Mrs. Chui is fair in her curriculum. Her tests often follow her examples in class and the homework she assigns. The best tip I can recommend to anyone who takes her class is go to office hours for assistance, she's always willing to help!
Two words - the best. Very clear, makes calculus 3 so easy. Exam questions come from the notes or homework. And she's just so nice!!!
Chui is a great teacher. My recommendations to you is jus tod practice problems as much as you can from the book. Go to class because she takes problems from her notes as well. Most importantly is take advantage of her office hours, and any questions you have go to her, she will do anything to help you understand. Just put time into the class.
She is very nice and very helpful. She explains the material very well and goes over a lot of examples in class. She allows one test drop. Her quizzes are very similar to the examples in class so pay attention. Going to class is highly recommeded since she sometimes uses similar examples on test as well.
She's amazing. She's the sweetest lady and she always takes the time to stop if anyone has a question. She makes sure the material is very clear and her tests and quizes aren't hard if you go to class. Definitely recommended.
Best Calc3 prof at UF!
Best calc 3 teacher at UF. For the first time she puts her class lectures online for you to print prior to class. Go to class, take the quizzes seriously, and copy down her examples and you will do fine. Her test are almost always some variation of an old hw or lecture problem. I missed a B+ by half a question but most of the class got A's.
I love chui! She is really nice and a great teacher. Her tests are fair and she gives a review sheet before each test. Do the review sheet and you'll get do well on the tests. Go to class for the participation grade and before tests for hints on what to expect. Take any math with her and you won't regret it.
She just follows the lecture notes. You can buy the whole semester's notes for about 30 dollars but she leaves some blank spaces for you to fill in during class just so you attend. Never had to use the book. You actually have to put in a few hours a day of your time and effort if you want to get anything higher than a D in this class.
Prof. Chui is the coolest. She is fair in her grading and as long as you don't try to get away with anything she will give you a fair grade. And she always gives a review sheet before the exams and some questions are very similar or even the same.
Ms. Chui's class is extremely easy...partially because I already know the lectures lol. She is so nice and friendly. Amazing teacher and person!!
Not easy to understand through her accent. Not very helpful at office hours.
She teaches the material well, but sometimes she makes it more difficult than necessary. She was nice in class, but her accent sometimes made it hard to understand. She's fairly nice.
I had no clue what was going on in her class. She made a lot of mistakes and had students correcting her, she usually makes odd comments, and she has little empathy. She has poor classroom control but likes to call out students for talking.
She is super nice and explains everything very carefully. Her accent isn't that bad if you listen. She's very fair
Chui is a very good teacher. Any type of math at UF is hard, and pretty tricky. You have to stay on top of the work, and really study if you want to get a good grade, but excellent person and teacher!!! Tutoring Zone is very, very, very helpful for this course!!!
Can barely understand her during lectures so I would rec. sitting up front. If you are decent at math you will do fine in this class. You can drop your lowest exam, quiz, and HW assignment. Definately would rec. her for Precalc.
HATE pre-calc,LOVE Prof. Chui! She's aware that her class is a pre-req for most majors so she tries to keep it simple. Extra credit if you complete all but two of the quizzes, and your lowest test/quiz grade is dropped. I'm terrible in math, but with the drops and (free) private tutoring, I pulled an A-. TAKE THIS WITH HER!
Quirky woman who can make students laugh without her knowing. Slight difficulties with presentation materials. Emphasized hers and TAs' office hours. Lectures had random quizzes to check for attendance. TA does much of actual comprehension for students.
Chui is a crazy lady who you just laugh at sometimes. She is a pretty good teacher and knows her stuff. The tests are not too bad if you just study the review posted online and do the old exam.
Chui was really sweet and helpful, but I learned the most by making use of her office hours, not in lecture.
Just turn everything in! Lots of material but not impossible. You cant understand her but it doesnt really matter as long as you copy the notes. DONT MISS DISCUSSION! she take random lecture attendance, just make sure youre there or someone you know is that will turn a quiz in for you
I dont know what people are talking about on here. SHE IS HARD. No one i knew was doing well. the stuff she taught us, was WAY easier than what she actually put on the test. and if you get a crappy TA, your SCREWED. Take someone else, she makes its harder than it needs to be!
Worst teacher ever, she is terrible at explaining new concepts and she goes 1 million miles an hour! She is very hard to understand also bc she has a huge accent!
Her lectures could've been better in several ways but overall she wasn't a bad professor. I would just recommend going to Tutoring Zone to prepare for the exams.
Chui has a unique sense of humor... it's very subtle, but if you pay attention to her, she's hilarious!
I LOVE CHUI! She is hilarious. She used to just end class if we told her it was time (even if it wasnt). If you go to her she will really help you. I would recommend her over the other MAC teachers, And go to class for the pop quizzes..chui doesnt object to "helping" each other on the quizzes
If you are a decent math student, then this class will be easy for you. The tests are pretty easy. She collects all of your HW right before tests so that can help your grade too. There are also weekly quizzes in your TA section but your TA will review everything right before. I would reccommend this class!
There is no doubt that Chui is nice. Its absolutely essential to print out the notes and go to every class. There is an attendance quiz every day. Class covers too much material too quickly; a section in the text a day. She doesn't explain the topics that great and often elicits exclamations of confusion. Its been described as a weeding-out class.
Ms. Chui was supposedly my professor, but she never actually taught my class; the TA taught every single class of the semester. The TA was okay, but kind of hard to understand. I heard that Chui was a good professor and I was excited to have her, but I never saw her once! I probably could have gotten an A in this class if she had been there!
Prof Chui does a good job explaining the material in lecture, however the exams are much harder than the homework and review material. A lot of studying and hard work is required to be successful in this class, as the discussion sessions are not too helpful (some TAs are hard to understand, in terms of communication that is).
Class was easy. Exams were easy. Usually got 100% on the Multiple choice exams, but the free response questions brings down the overall exam grade...but only by a little bit. She gives a lot of extra credit and drops a lot of quizzes and online hw. She is nice and helpful. Easy class!
When I started this class, I was really unsure about the grade I would be receiving. I honestly hoped I would even get a C. I made an A. This is coming from someone who dropped Mac1147 the previous semester. Keys to doing well: study, do HER reviews (tutoring zone actually didn't help as much, if at all, like hers did), go to class, study w/ friends
TAKE HER CLASS! Any type of evaluation problem comes straight from the lecture or the homework. She makes the subject interesting and grades leniently. You'll hear Calc 2 is a nightmare, but don't expect this at all if she's your professor.
Very helpful! She explains everything very clear and gives you many opportunities to get help, whether through office hours or at the local teaching center. Her questions are rather difficult, but through studying and tutoring, an A is definitely possible.
She's an awesome teacher. Come to class, do the webassign, and you'll understand the material perfectly.
Pretty good teacher. Made Calc 2 bearable. Much better than it could have been.
Chui knows her stuff, and she is very thorough with her lectures. If you understand the online homework you will pass her tests without a sweat. Take her class you will love her! She would be the greatest Grandmother.
I thought she was a great teacher! She always was super interested in making sure everyone understood the material despite the fact that the class was so large. I definitely recommend her. She explains things very well, but the online HW is hard.
I was glad that I switched out of Keeran - Chui's a great professor who jokes and the lecture notes that you can printout/buy are helpful. If you are familiar with the material then just look@ notes,if not I suggest doing some book problems and look@ webassign and you should be fine.Final exam (was a bit on the diff side but youll be okay)> exam123
Chui is very helpful and clear. Her exams are usually straightforward, and she almost always says what is on it.
Very helpful! Its better if you attend her lectures and get help during office hours. The material is hard but manageable through practice and homework. Definitely recommend her.
She is a very sweet lady, and she teaches well. She is motherly. If you have any questions, she'll answer them with a smile. I thought she was really good at teaching. There is extra credit also.
Very helpful outside of class, very patient and always makes sure you understand the material. She tries to help you in any way you can and makes calc as easy as it could be with her fantastic lectures. definitely recommend her
The class is really hard no doubt, but Chui does her best to make you successful. Her lectures are great, because she has a way to keep her students interested. She's always available in her office hours and have where she work more problems.
She is an excellent lecturer, but as a lecture style class goes, the exams are difficult and are designed in a way that you can't get many questions wrong for an A. Small amount of extra credit on each exam. Happy to have had her as a teacher
Great teacher and lecturer. Calc 2 is no cakewalk but she makes it interesting and understandable most of the time. The exams are very fair in regards to MC questions but the free response is graded leniently or not depending on your TA. In the end you get what you put out in this class.
Excellent. Easy class and great teacher.
Awesome teacher! The class can be difficult, but she provides lots of opportunities to help you succeed, especially extra credit! Just go to class and do the homework and you'll do fine.
Awesome Calc 2 teacher. Explains everything clearly.
Chui is literally the best. She doesn't have much of an accent, is very concise, and makes calculus simpler. I would even say she makes calculus fun; she tells jokes all the time in class. She genuinely cares for her students and is very kind and friendly.
Calculus Two is very tough but Chui makes it about as easy as she can.
Chui may be a sweet lady, but I find her tests to be somewhat random, and the practice problems do not exactly follow what tends to be on the exams. Also, it's easy to mess your grade up over minor mistakes on the exams; there is very little partial credit awarded. Not too difficult if you are good at math, but it could definitely be easier.
VERY helpful. She explains things very simply, and will go over anything multiple times so that you understand it. The exams are half MC/half FR. I found the MC to be a bit tricky at times but she ALWAYS gives similar problems in class, not only that, but she gives tons of chances for extra credit. I definitely recommend her
Chui is nice, but she seems to be able to make simple concepts very confusing and convoluted. I find her reviews for tests to be only marginally helpful. If you make a simple mistake on the free response portion of her tests, prepare to have some points taken; not much in the way of 'carry error forward' grading. Other than these, she's not too bad
Dr. Chui is extremely helpful. Her lectures are clear and focused. Homework, quiz, and exam problems are all similar. Her office hours were incredibly helpful, she structures them like a small classroom, which I found very beneficial. I would recommend her to anyone taking Calc 2 at UF.
Her office hours are very helpful. She will stay after her alotted time if you really need the help. She was by far the best calc professor out of the math department.
She is the best math teacher I have had at UF. Really wants everyone to do well and understand everything. Her tests are very fair besides the final. If you put in the work you will get an A.
Honestly, she is the best teacher I ever had. I love how she makes everything so clear. I've learnt so much with her.
Her lectures are clear, and she tries her best to help you understand the material. Best math teacher I've ever had. If you come to her office hours, she explains even more in-depth and is not very condescending. The exams are fair, but you really have to study for them to ace them. Lots of online homework. The website makes it tedious and hard.
Chui is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. Calc 2 is not a walk in the park but she tries to make it as simple as possible. She is always available if you need help and has a lot of opportunities to go to office hours. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed.
Talented teacher. Her lectures are enjoyable, but highly informative!
She is an amazing teacher. I would definitely take her again. Go to her office hours and come with questions. She's always there to help you, she doesn't want to see any of her students fail. Professor Chui is also funny in her own way. Extra credit is given on every exam and by taking classself evaluations.
Chui is a fantastic professor with a lot of energy and excitement. Even though her classes are 300+ students, she truly cares about the success of each individual. She gives extra credit all the time and makes sure she is available and can change her schedule to accommodate office hours or additional help for anyone who needs it.
Chui is the best! Her lectures are very helpful, informative & clear & she is so cute. She is VERY fair in regards to her class grade. Her whole class is technically curved because she takes 80% of your grade for credit & she always has bonus questions on her exams, which are not hard btw. If you go to class & discussion, you'll get an easy A!
Chui is such an enthusiastic teacher. She really wants to see everyone succeed and tries to engage the whole class. The exams are pretty straightforward as long as you've been keeping up with the material! Just make sure you show up to class to get your clicker points
She is the best teacher I have had in my life!! Her lecture is very clear and straightforward. She care all her students and want to see everyone succeed in the course. She puts so much of her efforts to her students and tries to remember everyone, even though, the class is huge. I love her and want to have her for all my Math classes.
I took AP Calc in hs so I already knew most material. Her lectures are pretty straight-forward, and she's actually pretty entertaining. Her exams were easy with lots of multiple choice and some EC; just do homework and pay attention to pass. There were points though where if I didn't know the stuff already, her explanations wouldn't have helped me.
Easy class and chui is good teacher. Her lecture so good you don't even need a textbook
She really wants you to pass and is helpful in office hours. She ended up doing some of the homework problems for me. This being said, the class is decently difficult and takes some time if you're not already really smart.
She is one of the best calculus professors I've had. She explains the material very well, where if you just follow her and whatever is going on in class ,you will do well. Pretty easy class overall with a quite nice, well-rounded, and clear grading criteria as well.....
To be honest i'm fairly disappointed with how easy this class was. Tests are much easier than homeworks and there are more bonus points in this class than you'll ever need. I was hoping for a challenging course that would push me to learn but instead all I got was a simple class that left me with an easy A and zero feelings of accomplishment.
Chui knew what she was talking about. Very concerned for her students success and well-being.
Moves very quickly Must show up
She is amazing, I had already taken calc 2 in high school but her teaching skills made calc 2 an easy refresher. The content isn't always easy but she utilizes her time efficiently and is completely prepared with sticky notes for the lectures and other helpful analogies.
She's helpful and interested in the subject. You think she's incredibly nice and caring up until the first exam, where she absolutely butchers you. Hardest tests I've ever taken. Every question has at least one trick to it, so you're not fine even if you know exactly how the math works. Incredibly hard class, but Chui is sweet and a good lecturer.
Superhelpful.
The class in all honesty is very difficult. I was failing behind and needed some help to bring my grade up. She offered extra office hours to advise students like ourselves and give us advice on how to study for her exams and such. It has been my hardest class at UF. If you took AP calc AB I would not recommend skipping calc 1
The course material is difficult. I took Calc AB in hs and was worried about skipping Calc 1. I'm happy I did. Requires a lot of work, but this professor is extremely caring and wants you to succeed. Someone else and I probably wouldn't have gotten the A. Her lectures were phenomenal.
I'm happy that I had the chance to work with Chui! She is very helpful and character-driven during lectures and office hours and wants you to do well. LOTS of effort is required to get the desired grade, but her office hours were very beneficial. Had solid AB+BC scores coming in, didn't use StudyEdge and succeeded all thanks to her.
Chui is always there when you need help. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She will do anything in her ability to help you. For example, she give out one bonus homework for extra credit. If you put in the effort for the class, you will get the "A"
Chui is an angel I loved being in her class and she really and truly makes it feel like even though you're one of 1000 kids that you're worth her attention. I wont lie the course is very difficult and you need to work, but the lectures are engaging and she makes a scary weed out class enjoyable
Fantastic teacher. You have to master the material. Just do it so you don't have to repeat the class and realize how easy it was . 3 exams. Don't believe the rumors. The first exam is the easiest. The second is the hardest. The third is alright. The final is difficult. Do the webassign on paper as you do them each week.
She is really really nice and caring even though tests are insanely hard. Best calc 2 teacher but still hard. Lots of extra points available so you can still pass even if you do awful on the tests. Make sure to get those easy points from hw, quizzes, and clicker questions!
I took AP calc AB in hs and passed and everyone told me to take Calc 1 here anyways but I am so glad I went straight to Calc 2. It was a tough class and I spent a lot of time studying and doing hw. Tests are difficult, I got a high C average on tests and ended up with an A-. Do extra credit, every point counts. Chui is always there to help.
As put by a many students Chui will "fail you with a smile." She's a short sweet woman who has a manageable accent and definitely is very knowledgeable in her field, but oh lord her tests are rough. The best way to study is to get study edge, because her practice tests were hit or miss for the exams.
Chui is a great teacher but her tests are EXTREMELY hard. Even with her practice tests I found that I felt unprepared come test time. I would definitely recommend getting study edge, it simplified her class and helped me get an A!
I have few words for Dr. Chui's class. It is perfection. Don't even think about taking this class if you don't have Chui. Chui is love, Chui is life.
Chui is an excellent teacher, but the material is fairly difficult. As long as you go to class and do well on the homework, one should easily pass this course.
Chui is nice, and really knows her stuff, but the lectures can be hard to follow. It's easy to fall behind in this class, and the tests are very difficult. I managed to get an A, using Study Edge, which I found to be way more useful than the lectures.
Chui is amazing, I would take her class again, it is a lot of work, but nothing impossible. Make sure you do as much practice problems as you can. Chui really cares about her students and you can tell she loves to teach this subject, you can't go wrong with that.
Chui's class was fairly tough in my opinion. Lot of busy work through webassign, but I used Study Edge to help me get through this class. Chui's lectures were fine, the material itself is just difficult. My recommendation is to go to class still, but let Study Edge help you.
Chui is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. She wants to make sure everybody understands what is happening and never goes too fast. She is very thoughtful in the way she posts plenty of additional problems online for help. Also, she's kind of funny sometimes which is nice.
I took Calc BC in highschool and then took this class. Even though Chui's class was harder than AP Calc, I still didn't have to struggle as much. As long as you watch the lectures online and review webassign questions, you'll do well. Also, she's ready to help outside class.
Prof Chui is so knowledgeable and knows the ins and outs of Calc 2, but still knows how to simplify topics into basic english to be able to teach them to just about anyone. She has such a great personality she's absolutely adorable and never fails to make her students laugh. Never skip class, lots of extra credit opportunities. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Chui is a great professor. Calc 2 is not an easy class, and therefore takes a lot of practice at home. However, Chui does a great job at making it feasible and is super sweet.
Professor Chui is extremely good at teaching Calc 2, but this class is no walk in the park. I did manage to scrape an A, but I was only over the margin by 1.5 points in a 400 point class. Professor Chui is funny, kind, and endearing in person, but her exams can be brutal if you are not prepared. Recommended, but don't slack off.
Great lectures. She is the definition of a teacher. Cares about her students and knows how to teach the topic well. The class itself is really hard but she helps the students by giving a lot to extra credit.
IDK what these people are saying. Unless you are extremely talented in calc, beware. Chui is not a good lecturer, doesn't teach many shortcuts (shoutout study edge), and her exams are incredibly difficult, I found the first and final the hardest personally. She gives "Extra Credit" which isn't much, just make sure you do everything and study well.
Wonderful professor and helps you really understand the topics. You'll be fine in this class without Study Edge if you use both Chui's and your TA's office hours. Loads of EC (5% of your grade) I'm not particularly good at math and I got an A with her. Just put in the effort and you'll be fine.
As someone mentioned below, I really don't know what's up with all the Chui hype. I've never had such a difficult time in a class before. Be prepared to work extremely hard in this class, and if you do not have Study Edge you are screwed. Beware of the Chui hype, if you are not a calculus savant, I would not take this class.
Chui was great. There is a lot of WebAssign homework but it prepares you well. Chui cares a lot for her students and definitely puts in her fair share of time to answer our questions and make sure that we understand the material. She is much better than Mahoney (he subbed one day and was terrible). You must study to do well though as is expected.
She is an amazing teacher, really knows how to explain the material. HOWEVER, IT does involve a lot of work and effort (esp. WebAssign).
She is definitely the best Calc 2 professor at UF. She is tough, but calc is calc. If you work hard you will succeed. Take advantage of office hours and past exams.
Everyone said to take Calc with Chui, but I'm not sure why. I took this class in high school, so I knew the material. The way Chui taught was extremely confusing. She didn't teach the easiest ways to do things, so it helped that I had learned other ways in high school. She was straight forward about her grades, but in terms of teaching, not good.
Chui is very nice and sweet, although she can seem to go super fast through tough concepts. Overall, she offered a lot of extra credit, and the tests weren't too bad if you understood the webassign and used study edge. She even left during the semester for like 2 weeks right before the exam. It's a weird class, but very doable.
Attendance definitely matters! Chui is a great teacher and is available to answer questions and will be willing to help you if she sees that you care about the class. It is definitely a very difficult class, but I personally used Study Edge in addition to attending class and found the reviews gave me lots of really great tips/ shortcuts for tests.
DEFINITELY MAKES YOU WORK FOR IT, BUT REALLY DOES CARE ABOUT YOUR GRADE. THE WAY THE COURSE IS DESIGNED HELPS YOU SUCCEED- DOESNT LET YOU SLACK OFF. BE PREPARED TO DO WORK EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR THIS CLASS, BUT THAT WORK WILL PAY OFF
Honestly have Chui was a blessing. Attendance is huge especially because the questions she constantly goes over show up on the test. However, without her office hours and Study Edge I probably would not have gotten an A. Study Edge for sure worked with her because their practice problems were almost identical the actual tests.
She's an amazing professor and she gives a ton of extra credit! Do well on the quizzes and get all your clicker point and you can make up for any losses on the exams!
If you have the option for Chui, take it!! She is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had! She is enthusiastic and tries to make the class as interesting as possible. Her lectures move fast, but are still easy to follow. There is also a lot of homework, but it is really helps with grasping the material, and its not unreasonable.
Chui understands the intricacies of knowing how to teach. She knows the best methods of tackling the topic at hand, and understands the underlying causes of student mistakes and addresses them accordingly. I would be more relieved for future classes if all professors taught like her.
Chui is the BEST possible choice for Calc 2! She's very understanding and easy to talk to when you need help. Class material is difficult but lectures are excellent. Lots of homework and clicker questions in class. Exams were difficult but if you study and use office hours and practice tests you will be fine. Recommend having a strong study group
Dr. Chui is a beautiful person. She really cares about the student and wants you to do well. Calc 2 is known to be notoriously difficult, but put in the work and do the homework and you'll get through it. It's not that bad and Chui makes it a lot less painful.
Honestly, if you studied hard and did well in Calc-1, then Calc-2 will seem much easier for you! While Calc-1 throws a lot of stuff at you, Calc2 is more focused, it has less homework (however still A LOT compared to other classes) and Chui was incredibly nice and helpful. Calc 2 IS NOT harder than Calc-1. In fact for me it was easier.
Calc is tough but she is a great enthusiastic professor and really wants her students to do well in her class and you can tell that she loves the material and teaching it. I have heard a few students changed their major to mathematics after taking this class. But again its calc so be ready to work. It is definitely manageable tho. EC is offered
She's by far the best professor I've ever had. Really cares about students and is always willing to help. Her exams are fairly easy. No trick questions. very fair. If you do the homework and pay attention in class, it's an easy A.
She makes sure everyone gets the material. She's funny and very nice. She also gives a lot of extra credit; you just have to be willing to do it from the very start.
Great professor and willing to work with the students during office hours.
Chui is a very caring and kind human being, and while I think people may easily take her gently personality for granted, for me it adds an inspirational element to the class. She wants you to succeed, and is good at answering questions both in and out of class during office hours. Her exams are reasonable and identical to material in class.
Absolutely the sweetest professor I've ever had. She cares about students passing and will help in anyway possible. Gives lots of extra credit. I had her for a flipped section and it did have alot of homework but well worth it because I feel like I understood the material better than most of the regular calc students. She has amazing notes too.
Great professor! she really cares about the class and gives out a lot of extra credit. Calc 2 can be pretty hard study edge helps a lottt.
Be prepared for the clicker questions.
Dont miss classes, study through the now you trys and the exam reviews, and you wont have to use study edge.
Dr. Chui is GODDESS. If you take Calc 2, take it with her!! (preferably the flipped) Yes you will have to do practice problems but the more you do, the quicker you get and this class will be your favorite, and you will be crying at the end when you leave Dr. Chui. Please go to office hours and ask question or even just get to know Dr. Chui!!
CHUI IS AMAZING!! shes literally one of the best professors I have had. she made me understand calc 2 so well. you will not regret taking this class with her. shes also the sweetest person ever. and yes the material itself is hard but if you study and practice a lot you will pass easily!! make sure you're prepared for clicker questions
Very sweet professor who does great with her lectures. If you ask for help, she'll make sure you understand something fully.
I took Chui over the summer and she was awesome! She was so nice and willing to help students through in-person and online office hours. Course material was a bit challenging but Chui simplified things. I used Study Edge and the tutor, Jordan, was extremely helpful with reviews. Loved how Study Edge provided many practice problems!
Honestly the most confused I have ever been in any mathematics class. Had no problems in calc 1, but the material ramps up and Chui certainly doesn't do a good job of explaining problems. She moves through material at a break-neck pace and wont slow down for anyone. Doesn't understand that not everyone gets concepts on the first problem.
Chui explains everything very clearly and writes out all the math as she's speaking in class so it's pretty easy to follow along. She's very helpful during office hours and explains specific problems in depth . She posts lots of practice exams. You definitely have to work for an A, but if you do all the homework and practice exams you'll be fine.
Chui is amazing! Best calc 2 prof at UF. Take her if you can. She's very fair, and she writes the exams so sometimes she tells you about weird wording and stuff like that ahead of time.
Very good lectures. Do that and some practice problems, should be fine.
Chui's is the best calc 2 professor hands down. I'd definitely recommend the online course if you don't procrastinate. She provides a lot of extra credit opportunities (6-12% of the final grade). She's very accessible outside of class and really cares about her students.
Took it online. Great lecturer, honestly an easy class with all the extra credit
really nice professor and cares a lot about her students. hard class though and some of the tests are a bit unfair but she curves if need be. very fair professor
Best professor for Calc 2. She does everything in her ability to help you out. Has extended office hours and even answers questions over email. She teaches very well and it is understandable. Hands down best professor for calc I've had!
Had another professor for this class but I watched her lecture videos instead, got a 100 in this class. If you do the practice problems and go to her office hours to clear up your confusion, you'll do well.
Lectures move quickly but are easy to follow. She is one of my favorite math professors so far. Class is tough with lots of homework but if you put in the effort you'll pass.
Enthusiastic
Chui is by far one of the best professors you could ask for for Calculus. Her lectures are very clear and she knows where students have trouble and makes sure to explain it well. With that said, the material ramps up fast and is definitely harder as you go. But she is SUPER accessible and will even stay extra for office hours to ensure success.
Best professor Ive had so far. Professor Chui is really flexible with students when it comes to office hours and answers questions through email over a reasonable timeframe. She cares about her students and helps ensure success. The class material can get difficult at times but studying and practice problems as well as office hours help.
Definitely take her for calc 2.
Professor Chui was such a good teacher. She was easy to understand and made sure to go slow enough and work through multiple problems during lecture. The class itself was very difficult and math is not my best subject but she made it less scary than I expected. She also gives plenty of material to study which was very helpful.
Best calc professor I've ever had; super clear and easy to understand; clickers are annoying, but it all evens out at the end of the semester; tests are fair and using her exam reviews, past exams, and NYTI's is the best way to study; HW's help too; discussion isn't helpful; office hours/discussion board also super helpful; easy to pass
Make exam is harder than the original one and there is no curve for it. If you can get an A in the original one, you will probably get a C in the make up.
Rough and tough class.
Dr. Chui is the best there is. Class is still pretty hard tho
I dont think she couldve made Calc 2 any easier. People who give her bad ratings probably did poorly in the class but thats not on Chui. She makes all the resources you need easily accessible so if you want an A you can get one with some effort.
Absolutely amazing professor with lots of resources to help you succeed. The class is difficult and time-consuming but that is just the nature of the course.
Calc 2 is a hard class to begin with. Chui explained the concepts well despite the huge 300 person lecture class. I was never able to go to her office hours bc it conflicted with my schedule, but I heard they were helpful. I recommend Broward tutoring if you can make a private appt. I didn't have study edge. Buy lecture shell!!
Calc 2 sucks, and it's going to suck no matter who you take it with. That being said, Chui was pretty good. She doesn't pull any punches but her exams were fair. If you're good at calculus your grade will reflect it.
I took calc 2 online with her after not knowing ANYTHING about calculus and getting a C in calc 1. She is one of the few teachers at UF that I would say actually gives a crap about her students and legitimately wants you to pass. Posted lectures are very clear and concise. If you have to take calc 2 (fyi please don't if you don't have to) pick her.
Chui is by far the most caring professor I have ever met at my time at UF. If you are having difficulties, either with course content, or just in life, she will do her best to accommodate you . That being said, Calc 2 is a very difficult class, but you are given all of the resources you need. If you put in the effort (homeworks), you will do well.
She is an amazing professor. Very kind and cares about her students. She provides all the resources you need to succeed in the class. Whenever you need help, just ask and she will do anything to help you. I'm happy to have been in her class. My best advice for exams is to make sure you understand the content in the practice exams she provides.
Great professor! Very knowledgeable and you can tell she cares a lot about her students' learning. She will explain something to you if you don't understand or even if you have questions unrelated to the class. Her lectures are great and her exams are very fair. Overall though, Calc 2 is an extremely tough class, especially the second half.
I cannot express how amazing of a professor Chui is. It's clear that she genuinely cares about her students and really wants you to succeed. She does everything she can to make lectures as easy to understand as possible. There is no doubt that calc 2 is very difficult but if there's one person to get you through it, it's Chui.
Doesn't go in depth on content, pace is too fast to fully understand the concepts, and the homework does not correspond to the lecture
I've only taken the course for a bit more than a month and I can say Professor Chui is a great professor. Even though her english isn't the best, she manages to teach her lectures clearly and without any issues. She also cares for the students.
I took MAC2312 summer 2018 fully online and thought it was doable- I am NOT a math person and was able to receive an A in this course with a combination of watching her lectures and using Study Edge- Jordan made the information super simple and understandable! Study Edge's short concept videos and exam solutions were super helpful as well.
Calc 3 is rough but professor Chui made it great. She will stay after class to help you understand the material better. There is a lot of work but if you stay on top of it and put effort into the class, you should easily be able to pass.
While Prof. Chui wasn't my assigned lecturer, I chose to attend her lectures because the class was online. Chui definitely has a gift for teaching and can explain difficult topics in simple terms. She consistently went out of her way to teach in a variety of methods that were catered to different styles of learning.
I've never had as an amazing of a math professor as Chui. Her pre-recorded lectures are fantastic, she provides extra credit opportunities, and goes out of her way to make sure students are getting the most out of the class. If you have the option to take Chui for anything, please take her!
Calc 3 isn't impossible but definitely needs focus. Class required work daily. Chui was easily the best lecturer, beating Demas and Huang. Went above and beyond by going off the normal lecture notes and making her own to explain things. Lectures often took longer than usual but she'd also stay to help with any questions. Study for tests and pass!
Amazing professor! She really cares about her students. Calc 2 is really hard but she makes it a lot easier. Lots of chances for extra credit too. Her lectures are amazing and makes things easy to understand. Exams are pretty difficult though
Calc 2 is real rough but Chui is a sweetheart who actually cares about everyone's understanding. The class takes work but she will make your life easier if you need help.
Maybe one of the best calc professors, very easy to reach and exams were very fair compared to other professors. I would recommend.
She is the best professor I've had at UF! Super helpful, and always willing to answer questions!!
Dr Chui's exams are much more fair than other professors. Chui gives a lot of extra credit, and while the homeworks and quizzes are hard, they were open note and unlimited time, as well as closely corresponding to the test material. You're at a big disadvantage if you don't take her.
I kept an A all the way up until the final. The hardest part of this class are the exams, which make up a significant portion of your grade. Loads of resources and prior exams are given as supplement and I HIGHLY suggest you utilize them. I'm certain that my bad grade on my final was because I neglected the resources. Exams generously curved.
I am absolutely not a Cal person, let alone Cal 2. But my major does require it. It is hard for me but Chui made it sooooo much better. I passed my exams each time with Bs and I couldnt believe it. She is a gifted professor and makes such hard material seem so approachable. She gives tons of resources to take advantage of and the exams are fair.
A lot of people will say that calc 2 is one of the worst classes to take at UF but Chui makes this class really doable. Her lectures are great and really thorough. She also gives out lots of extra credit and will respond to any questions you have on the homework and quizzes on her discussion posts if someone else already hasn't.
Dr. Chui is an amazing lecturer who provides clear explanations and examples. All content will be covered. The class is incredibly fast paced, but just make sure to do the homework to get in enough practice and stay on top of the content, and you'll be just fine!
Chui herself is not that bad of a teacher but the amount of homework she assigns is honestly outrageous. I find myself not having enough time to learn in classes that actually pertain to my major to the extent I would like to because I am always stuck doing an assignment for this class. Very hard, would not take again.
The class is hard, but she is not bad. The lectures are very fun, given the subject, and she is very willing to help if you go to office hours or stay after class. The grading is through canvas so she is not a tough grader, it is just math, you have to be correct to get the points. This also means no partial credit.
Dr. Chui is a literal queen! For the countless times I approached her with a problem I was stuck on, she always patiently explained where I went wrong. Her lectures are quick, but thorough. Use her office hours (both her online and in-person OH), website, the extra problems at the end of lecture notes for practice and you'll do great on the exams!
Chui is such a sweetheart. She really cares about her students and the material and it shows. The course material is hard and the exams are stressful, but you have access to another professor's recordings as well in case you need different explanations.
Chui is a great lecturer and keeps you engaged. Lectures consist her going through a packet you can buy or download. There are about 3 lecture quizzes and a homework assignment each week, and 4 exams. The exams are the bulk of your grade. A few extra credit opportunities. Watch the lectures and do all the problems assigned and you should be golden.
Professor Chui is very nice but an awful professor. She explains things poorly and provides no resources to study for midterms and the final. She would often give hard problems in the lecture and say she "didn't want to do it" and would never go back to it. The exams were nothing like the lectures or homework.
Prof. Chui has been the best calculus professor I have had the opportunity to study with. She is a really nice person, very easily accessible through the class discussions or office hours. Calculus II is a hard class but she makes sure the lectures and homework are clear to you, and will never leave you with an unanswered question.
The online course is significantly more work than the in-person. Her lectures are quick to the point and really helpful. Test material actually reflects what you do in class. Homework is on Xronos so it's easy to do but those questions are significantly harder than what's given on the test/gone over during the lecture. Previous exams were helpful.
Professor Chui's demeanor is just so likeable, and she really cares about her students. The pace of the class is quite fast, but if you take the time to go to office hours she will gladly try to help you understand. Calc II was very digestible due to her efforts.
Professor Chui teaching style didnt work for me and I stopped going to her lectures after doing very poorly on the first exam to watch Professor Manlys lectures and I did much better on the next exam. The exams are very difficult and even when I studied and went to tutoring I didnt do great. Everything was online and it made it very challenging.
She's really nice and approachable, and her lectures are engaging and explain the problems well. She went very quickly on some of the later lectures, though
Good teacher, but it's much better to attend her classes in person rather than relying on the recording afterward.
She is an amazing professor and made it very easy to understand everything! I also highly recommend using Study Edge for this class because it was extremely helpful for extra practice and their Exam Reviews are great to watch before each exam.
Professor Chui wasn't the worst math professor I've ever had but she wasn't the best. She offered help whenever possible and was very available. In my opinion professor Manly is the better lecturer and professor, and I often ended up watching his lectures.
Dr. Chui was a great professor for a very hard class. This is the worst class I've ever taken over my schooling career, not because she's a poor teacher but because there's too much material to cover. Tests are designed to be hard and intricate. I wouldn't take more than 16 credits with this class.
There is a lot of work, but she never fails to guarantee your understanding of the material. The exams are very easy and cover the same types of problems you will do for homework or quizzes, and sometimes the same questions are used. This class may be hard for those who never took MAC2311, as a lot of this content is different from calc AB and BC.
Calc 2 is hard. Chui makes good lectures. My recommendation is to go in person. Its annoying and time-consuming but trust me you are going to understand the material. It s a lot of content (a lot more than there should be in my opinion). But shes amazing and sweet and you really do get the material. If you dont shes really answers your questions.
I liked Professor Chui and the way she set up her online Calc 2 course to make it reasonable because it's already a difficult subject. I just personally didn't like her lecture videos.
I had to do homework everyday and it was just so demanding. I felt like I did not have much instruction on how to do some of the work especially since it was an online course. I think it would have been better in person. She did reach out for help, but I felt like it is a class you need to do in real life to understand.
Actually cannot say worse things about this professor. She is the least understanding professor and redirects ANY questions to TA even if she needs to answer them. Problems on quizzes are way different than the homework/lectures. Super hard even with a tutor and study edge.
Prof. Chui is the absolute best calc teacher I've ever had. Calc 2 can be pretty difficult, but she really does make it a lot easier. The online course is pretty well structured, and she'll always answer your questions in office hours or on canvas. Plus, you get a lot of resources from earlier years, it's all on Canvas.
Dr. Chui is great at explaining difficult topics, and speaks not like a professor but like a tutor, straying away from using jargon to confuse you more. There is A LOT of work however, including studying; I probably put in three to four hours of work per day. Exams are manageable.
Dr. Chui was a very good lecturer, she always put the concepts into easy to understand terms. She was very accessible and was always clear about expectations and what to do next. She also offered many resources for extra help. There was a lot of homework however, usually requiring at least an hour or two everyday.
Professor Chui is definitely one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She truly cares about everyone understanding the concepts and goes into good depth during lectures. She is really good also at properly preparing us for the exams and always devotes a lecture to review. She always helps and is especially great during her office hours. 10/10
Prof Chui cares a lot about her students and is always there if you need help w a topic. The class is difficult and requires lots of practice but her lectures are always super helpful and her announcements normally have some review materials included to make studying easier. Overall very nice although she sometimes speeds through lectures.
I loved Professor Chui's class. She was caring and sweet and always took the time to explain things to students. Tests were a large part of the grade but all had some extra credit. The lectures were posted online which was great. Some topics however were not explained enough, especially for the exam weight (polar area, physics application).
Professor Chui is very caring and often provides OH/stays after class to answer questions. You will have to put in a lot of individual effort weekly, but as long as you don't fall behind you should be fine. Weekly work consists of online homework and participation surveys, very exam heavy so stay on top of preparations when one rolls around.
She is SUPER caring and makes learns her students' names. OUT OF HUNDREDS. Her lectures are great and she holds office hours for as long as people still have questions. Calc 2 is hard, but her teaching helped a lot with everything. We had participation quizzes online after class, but it was easy to get the answers if you didn't go to class.
Dr. Chui is an amazing professor. She really cares about the students and makes an effort to explain concepts in a fun way in and outside of class. She provides extra resources for her students and is always accessible for questions. Overall an amazing professor and the best calc 2 professor imo.
Professor Chui was an amazing professor and her class was very manageable online.
The course content was pretty complex, but Professor Chui did a great job making those topics easier to understand. She was also very helpful outside of the classroom and was helpful in answering students' questions.
Dr. Chui explained Calc 2 very well. Her lectures are very straightforward- if you miss lecture, you will miss a lot of information. Tests can be difficult but she supplies a ton of practice/old exams, which were very similar to the actual exam. Do the homework (worth points) and go to class and you won't have a problem- I finished with a 103%.
Chui is amazing!! Her lectures are great and her office hours saved me in this course.
This professor was great and really explained everything very well. While the material was really tough at times, I was able to keep up and do well. I recommend taking any class with her, I had a good experience.
CHUI IS THE SWEETEST PROFESSOR EVER! Even if you are not good at calc, she makes this class enjoyable. I love Professor Chui, and if possible I will take her with Calc 3. Highly recommend her, she clearly knows what she is talking about.
I took this class online so there wasn't much interaction with her, but her lectures were pretty good and she seemed to really care about us. If you are taking this class online, definitely get study edge.
Chui was a great professor and accessible during office hours! Calc 2 was definitely more challenging than Calc 1, but I still managed to end up with an 96.5% in the class. My only pet peeve was that the quizzes were proctored by Honorlock, but other than that I had no complaints.
Professor Chui makes a clear effort to help students succeed and was very kind when answering questions. Calculus 2 is very difficult but she is careful to explain everything as clearly as possible.
Calc 2 isn't an easy class but prof Chui does the best she can to help students out! I took the online version of the course, so attending her office hours and keeping up with lecture videos really did the trick. Exams are long but doable. If you have any questions reach out to her and she'll do a great work at explaining one on one
This lectures for this class were recorded but I found that by going to the lectures everyday, I stayed on track which helped me overall do well in the class. Chui was a great professor and used useful notes in class. She offered helpful office hours as well.
Dr. Chui was AMAZING. She is someone who truly cares about her students' success and it shows. She would often stay for way longer than she should've for OH all to accommodate the people who would come in late and still ask for help. She also made sure to remember every name. She was amazing and her recorded lectures were great. Best professor ever
Great person, really kind and willing to help. Attendance was mandatory due to Shabazz who was the program coordinator. I took calc 2 with her and attendance was optional. You learn more from Prof Leonard but she is pretty good. If attendance were optional I would just show up to office hours.
I took Dr. Chui for calc 2 online. She had so many assignments but I felt like they were all necessary in doing well. By the time the exams came around, I barely had to study. I feel like she genuinely cares about all of her students and their success.
Dr. Chui is an amazing professor and I really enjoyed this class. I was super nervous coming into it because I'm not a "natural" at math, but her lectures were easy to understand and her quizzes/exams were just like the homework. This class is time-consuming if you want to do well, but it's worth it!! :)
The pre recorded lectures that she posts for the online class are very well made and easy to understand. She explains topics very well. There is a lot of homework and quizzes but they are very helpful in furthering your understanding of the class. The exams are as expected and similar to homework problems and past exams.
She is a very fast lecturer and misses some things sometimes but overall very nice. Her exam reviews are catered directly to exams which help a lot. Professor Adams is the MAC2312 in person course coordinator, so she does not answer emails pertaining to the course
Calc 3 is rough but I still made it! Professor Chui is super nice and always tries to help if we need it. However, she is a fast pace lecture, so you may need to be careful not to fall behind during the lecture.
Chui is super nice and you can tell she cares about her students and is very knowledgable about the material. I struggled a little bit in calc 3 but she is always game to re-explain topics to students and even though i barely spoke to her she always asked about my exam grades and wished me the best on said exams
Chui is super sweet and knowledgeable. I found that Calc 3 was hard to grasp from the lectures so I usually watched them online, but that's not her fault, it's just a lot of content. She was always eager to help and frequently stayed after class to answer questions. Lots of homework but it was helpful for the exams which were fair and very doable.
Very nice prof. but lectures felt rushed and sometimes a little bit disorganized. Canvas page is very oragnized and helpful to fill in any gaps from the lectures. Exams and quizzes were fairly easy.
Professor Chui is one of the most caring professors I've had yet. Due to the content heavy nature of the course, she sometimes ran out of time during lectures, but she was so willing to help students the best that she could when this did happen. I had a couple of conversations with her and she was very sweet, and her office hours were very useful.
Prof Chui is a great teacher for Calc 2. For those that didn't ever take BC Calc/equiv in high school, be ready to really study for this class. You are provided so many practice exams and practice problems, just make sure to stay up to date with Chui's lectures and use your resources.
Attendance is a quiz, that can be done from home. Lectures and tests between all profs were identical, occasionally in a diff order. Never got frustrated with students. Very passionate and easy to talk to. Videos lectures. Very clear and gave a lot of resources. Totally recommend. Nothing particularly bad or amazing, would take again with Chui.
Took online over Summer C. Calc 2 is difficult but her lectures are very good. Watch all the lectures and do all the extra problems and reviews and the class is passable.
Professor Chui was such a great prof! I was super nervous taking this class as a 9th grader, but she helped me though it! I got a 59% on my first exam, but she worked with me and i ended up with an A for a final grade! I can't stress this enough though, GO TO OFFICE HOURS!! She remembers each of the students and makes sure they get help!
Professor Chui's Calc 2 class is challenging but manageable with dedication. The pre-recorded lectures and abundant practice materials are invaluable. Leveraging unstuckstudy ai alongside standard resources made studying much more efficient. Overall, a thoughtful instructor who genuinely cares about student success.
If I could take Chui for all my math courses I would! Legit one of the best professors I've ever had, Chui takes great care to answer all questions and makes an effort to learn about everyone in my class as ppl. She's caring and attentive, and understands that sometimes you need to miss a lecture or two (all lectures are recorded). TAKE HER CLASS!
Chui is my idol. I love her so much. She's a great teacher, very kind and sweet, and she cares about her students and wants them to do well. She clearly loves what she teaches and teaches it with enthusiasm. Calculus 2 is a hard class and the homework is meant to be challenging, but Chui is a fantastic teacher and I'd take a class with her again.
Learned a lot!
Chui is a very good lecturer, even through videos! The online section has a lot of work, and seems to cover a couple more topics than the in person sections, but it is very doable if you stay organized and on top of the assignments. The final exam was much harder than I anticipated, and I didn't think it resembled the practice exams very well.
Professor Chui is one of the best mathematics professors at the University of Florida. While Calculus 2 is known for one of the most rigorous math courses, I can attest to the fact that Chui does a great job in presenting her video lectures and really wants all her students to succeed and ultimately pass her class. Take advantage of extra credit!
She is super sweet. Cares a lot for her students and tries to get to know them. She tries to help as much as she can. She isn't the one that makes the exams but she is great at teaching. Exams are tough but if you study and go to office hours you'll be fine. Don't fall behind!!
Professor Chui truly cares about her students and somehow makes Calculus 2 fun. Lecture recordings are posted on Canvas along with past exams with worked out solutions and extra problems. Homework on Xronos was manageable but past exams will be your best resource for studying. Discussion quizzes are two simple questions based on lecture material.
Professor Chui is the best lecturer, and I am so glad I took it with her instead of Adams (not that Adams is a bad professor). She is such a nice person and explains the content very clearly, I had no problem getting a very high grade in the class. It also helps that you get some insurance points on the exams, like the max score being 105/100.
great teacher and class, she taught the material really well and if you were confused she would help you. i sat in the front and if i looked really confused she would ask me if i understood while people worked which was really nice. there was class participation from questions we would do in class and take a quiz online but you could do it later.
Amazing professor! The lectures made sense, and the course content is not too challenging if math is your thing. She does a great job of breaking concepts down in an understandable way. You only need lecture material for this class and note outlines will be provided for you to follow along. Exams are very fair - there weren't many difficult ones.
If I had to choose between Steven Adams and Chui for Calc 2, I would definatley go with Chui. Both instructors teach the same material, but Chui goes above and beyond leading to more knowledge. Chui's reviews are exactly like what the exam will be like, meanwhile Adams will be vague and not say what will or will not be on the exam.
The professor was amazing and really nice. Office hours were very helpful. You could ask any question and the professor would show the step-by-step process to the answer and explain it thoroughly. She makes sure that you understand it completely. The TAs were very good and helpful in their office hours, too. The quizzes and exams weren't too bad.
She's a great teacher, really good lectures. I never went to office hours so can't speak on that but the exams are difficult but definitely doable.
Great professor! She makes Calc 2 so easy to understand and makes it easy to get an A with extra credit and lots of past exams to study from. Her tests are exactly like her reviews and past exams. She also gives 2 days of extra time to do lecture quizzes/homework which comes in handy.
Found lectures hard to follow along and did not prepare us for tests adequately.
Found lectures to be unclear and skip over smaller concepts that were fundamental to learning the larger concepts. Lots of assignments that didn't seem to help boost my grade. Overall felt unprepared for exams with just her material, ended up having to purchase study edge just to pass.
This is a really hard class, but Professor Chui's lectures really make the content as easy to understand as possible and she gives a lot of opportunities for improvement. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, take the homeworks seriously because they prepare you for the quizzes, and do the practice exams and you'll be fine- definitely recommend taking Chui's class.
calc 2 is a pretty hard class mainly covering integrals and series. professor Chui did a really good job of explaining it and making the class fun. I enjoyed attending her class. lectures are recorded. make sure to actually do the homeworks properly and not just right click for the answers... as they prepare you for the exam.
Dr. Chui is incredible. She has a discussion where she often personally responds to questions. She holds zoom office hours where she clearly and calmly goes through any material until you understand it. She is kind, understanding, intelligent, and wants her students to succeed. This is a hard class, but if you put in the work you will be fine.
I loved Calc 2 with Dr. Chui! She is a good lecturer. The Xronos Homework assignments are easy. There are weekly quizzes during discussion sections. Exams are not too bad and have a max of 105/100 points.
The course is very challenging but she is passionate and cares about helping her students succeed and is one of the best professors at UF. Go to her office hours and she will help you go step by step if you need it. The exams are difficult but fair so start studying early. Her lectures are easy to follow and explain things well.
I took her Calc 2 class, she explains everything clearly, answers questions well in class, and is always available to explain topics after class or in office hours. She's also funny asf. Exams aren't too hard, she provides past exams so studying for them is easy and there are 5 pts of extra credit available on the exams
Dr. Chui is an amazing professor. Highly highly recommend!
Professor Chui is super nice and was so willing to help, often going far past the end of her office hours to help students who were still there. I have no criticisms--the only thing I think the course could potentially benefit from are updated lecture videos, as the older ones used were occasionally a little hard to watch due to quality issues.
I pretty much "learned" most calculus two concepts from IB HL Math AA from a high school teacher, but I cannot express how much better my understanding of the concepts was from Dr. Chui. She is very kind and goes the extra mile to make sure you understand both the how and why behind concepts. If you're taking Calc II, I 100% reccomend her!
Very chill for a calc 2 class, she is very understanding and there is lots of extra credit. The exams are just like the practice ones and the lecture quizzes so as long as you do those you should be fine.
Love her! She's very sweet and energetic and her lectures are great! If you have questions during lecture, you can lowkey just shout them out and she'll stop to explain, or you can ask her after class. Calc 2 is a hard class, and I didn't do well (my own fault...), but she makes it a lot better.
She speaks fast. If you're trying to listen to her and take notes.. goodluck. She's the sweetest lady you'll meet and she wants everyone to do well. She's non threatening and like a silly little grandma.
Great professor for a difficult class. There is 1 homework assignment per lecture, and they are usually pretty difficult but prepare you for the exams. Exams are also difficult but every past exam is available on canvas. Also, Chui always answers questions in class, and she is always helpful in office hours. Would definitely recommend her.
Professor Chui was an amazing professor her lectures were very thorough and beneficial. There were a lot of assignments which if you do them and actively participate it's very beneficial. She is always willing to help her students and is always encouraging. Calc 2 is a hard course but Professor Chui is great at explains the material.
I found that Chui's lectures were very easy to understand, the exams and quizzes are difficult, but the homework and past exams are very helpful
lolol I didnt even have her as my main calc 2 prof officially (had adams) but I might as well have, because I ended up just going to her office hours and watched her lectures to learn. She is so nice and always willing to help anyone who needs it. Takes the time to learn your name and actually cares about your success. Always gives tips and tricks
