Straightforward with what will be on tests, simplifies topics, can sometimes move too fast through the material. He gives tons of extra credit, so anyone can get at least a B as long as they show up.

Overall he takes the stress out of class. Easily relatable and understandable. Comes off as "one of us". I never felt like I needed to act proper or anything around him I just do my best and he does his best to help me. If you need to take BIOL&160 I recommend Kyle strongly.

This prof is so chill

Taking this course as a prereq for med school. Must study if you want a 4.0. Helpful to read the book before coming to lecture. Professor Dayton posts all of his slides online, but usually talks about more than just the slides. He's pretty much always available on Canvas for questions, and gives you like 80% of the test in his review sessions.

Kyle is really nice. He is a good professor and he makes class fun. He is also very approachable and he gives lots of chances for extra credit. This class was pretty easy and as long as you show up, do your work and study for the tests its an easy A.

This was an amazing class. Kyle is beyond smart and really wants us to learn. He was very gracious and truly wanted everyone to succeed. He was always offering extra help and definitely made us not feel inferior. He created a comfortable environment. Recommend 10/10.

The class is tough, not because Kyle is a harsh grader, but because of the material itself. It is a lot to cover if you have no biology background, but Kyle simplifies a lot. He is more of a forest guy than a tree guy. He will slow down if you ask, and has awesome review sessions. He wants everyone to pass.

I had Dayton for Biology 160. Very knowledgeable about all sciences including neuroscience. He inspired me to switch majors to biology and look for neuroscience programs.

Good teacher, but moves waaaaaay too fast in lecture. He will meet you outside of class if you need help, where he slows down a bit. Overall good so far if you have him slow down.

Kyle is Great! He puts a lot of time and effort in his lectures and wants everyone to be successful. He goes through lecture fast but this gives him time to slow down the couple days before a test to make drawings and review concepts.

I took this class for giggles since it's not required for my major. Professor Dayton is a pretty fungi and really passionate about all things biology. You definitely have to study to get an A. I 100% recommend you take this class whether you need it or not!

Prof Dayton's lectures go from easy to dense real quick. He draws out difficult concepts and expects you to know them on his exams. I started out getting straight Cs on his exams to Bs and As once I started regularly going to his office hours. Not so easy of a class, and you definitely have to study.

Professor Dayton's personable demeanor is his strong point. I don't feel as stupid asking him simple questions as asking a big bad strict professor. It makes for a more comfortable learning environment and helped me transition from military work and hierarchy to the public sector. Keep it up professor Dayton! And do not change.

i took him for bio 170. he makes the material easy to understand for an anatomy class and gives you an idea of what the tests will be like early on. i could have gotten an a easy, but had to miss class a lot. the classes that i did attend were entertaining and it didnt even feel like i was in school.

An awesome fellow! I took him fro anatomy, a class I expected to fail, and almost did till he contacted me and showed me the way of proper studying. He did a better job at this than my college success prof. He answers ANY questions you have about bio either on the spot or the following class. Take this class if you can as an elective. No regrets!

I took Kyle for Gen Bio in Spring 2018, and have since transferred and continuing down the path of Biochem as a major. Kyle laid the foundation for every STEM course I've taken since, even Physics, granted I attended many office hours. He is incredibly motivational and is the reason I've stuck with science. He is the best professor I've ever taken.

Grades are based on 2 midtrerms, weekly quizzes, some worksheets, labs, and one project. Attendance was pretty much necessary because it was summer. I actually had a lot of fun in the course even though I usually find plants boring. He is one of the funnier profs even though his jokes usually went way over everyone's head.

Kyle is kind and was very accommodating to my weird schedule and series life events. You definitely need to go to class to get all of the info you need to do well. He is really passionate about the subject, and I would definitely take him for any other bio class.

He is extremely smart and knowledgable in bio, yet he still knows how to teach well and make class fun and interesting. Even though this class can be challenging, especially the exams, he is really good at providing resources to do well. 10/10 would recommend.

Had Dayton for Biol160/Biol211/Biol213. He's the best, gives lots of resources, you'll learn a ton, very clear in what to study for tests and clear on assignments, wants everyone to succeed--hilarious too! Quick guide: Go to class, actually study his ppts/study guides, do the kahoots at home after he posts them, do the extra credit, ace the class!

I had Kyle for BIO160, the best professor Ive had so far. I didnt take chem 100 or chem 121 and I got a descent grade in his class! I recommend him, his lectures make sense. The FIRST professor I ever took that his study guide matched his exam!

I had professor Dayton for A&P 2 during Winter 2020. He is great at explaining complicated things in an easy way. He really brought all that I had learned in BIO together into a bigger picture. My biggest advice for this class is to go to class. He prepares you very well for his exams.

Easiest class I have taken yet, the subject matter isnt easy, but the study guides are the same as the test. Lots of chances for extra credit and the labs are pretty fun. He is a little unorganized, and comes to class late somethimes, but it not a big deal. He is obviosuly very excited about what hes teaching. He is also easy on the eyes.

I loved his gen Bio class so I took him for cellular. His class often bounces between a lecture style and drawing along, which works best for me. Something that has been consistent between his classes is that they are challenging enough to where it's not boring yet not too discouraging. He has no problem answering stupid questions and is patient.

Took him for A&P2 as a prereq for nursing. He is more hands-on in his style than any prof I've had at Pierce. Like he does the work with you, it's hard to explain. I had to study HARD for his class, but I hear A&P 2 is the hardest class at Pierce. I would def recommend him over my A&P1 prof who barely taught. He makes sure you know your sheet!

Professor Dayton was fantastic. He has clear instructions on what he expects you to do for the class. He wants you to succeed but will not hold your hand through the course. Great lectures, exams had no surprises, and overall an amazing course.

His examples were good. The drawings and explanations were especially helpful, and the study guides for each test were useful and helpful. I kind of wished there were more assignments, but overall an amazing class.

The power points were detailed & the explanations were awesome. The Kahoots for reviews were amazing and I enjoyed the drawing process. I wish we had a little more time on the tests. Overall Kyle is an amazing professor!! Take him!!

Professor Kyle was awesome. He is involved every step of the way. If I had even a casual question about a body system, he would find the answer and email me before days end. His curiosity I believe inspired the class to become more interested in lecture and lab. I enjoyed my time in Professors Kyle's class, and learned everything about body systems

Kyle is a top-notch biology professor. He makes every topic interesting. The ZOOM lectures were new for me, but helped me feel engaged way more than just watching recordings or reading the book. You can tell that Kyle cares about leaving his students prepared for their next classes. I wish he taught chem too!

Great Professor. He is an expert in his field and knows how to present the material for students to grasp. Classes are recorded online, so watch when convenient. To do well you must watch all class lecture. I watched all the videos twice.

Kyle is pretty cool. He's like a young soul, and his lectures are pretty great. This class is not necessarily an Easy A, the tests are kind of difficult. On the bright side, he gives SO much extra credit. His extra credit had to of boosted my grade at least 5 percent throughout the quarter. If you need to take Bio, take Kyle!

Prof Dayton was great at giving us the in-class experience although everything was online through Zoom. He was considerate of our schedules and was willing to meet online at pretty much any time during the week. His exams were fair and he didn't throw any curveballs. The labs were kinda tedious, but he walked us through most of them.

Professor Dayton is a great professor. He is very communicative if you reach out to him ahead of time. He is very detailed in his syllabus and expectations. His study guides are very helpful! He records his lectures then uploads them if we cannot attend class, and he is very accommodating. He knows his stuff, and is very approachable when needed :)

Kyle is one of the best professors Ive ever had. Every week he gives extra credit opportunities, there is a couple extra credits at the end. His tests are literally based on the homework/ extra credit pop quiz. He sets you up for absolute success. His tests are 90 minutes 2 hours long for 40 questions, and his labs are enjoyable. Amazing teacher!

Kyle is great. He wants everyone to do well and grades a little tough but has a great study guide available for the chapters as well as a free copy of the textbook to download. No idea of age, easily could be a 25 year old taking the class with you, funny, knowledgeable and willing to help. There as several opportunities for extra credit throughout

Honestly the only science class I've ever taken where I've actually retained the information I was taught. I loved this class and the way it was set up-- it was very accommodating for students who are taking a lot of other classes. The workload was of decent size, but it's hard to get a bad grade if you do all of the extra credit, which is so easy.

Kyle is a great professor! This is a solid choice if you want/need to take biology. He made it very fun, easy, and everything is open book! The lectures were in-depth and you really didn't even need to use the textbook if you watched the lectures. I will be taking him again during Summer Qtr. because of how awesome his online class is set up!

By far the best professor I've taken at Pierce. So many extra credit opportunities with one quiz a week + labs. Free textbook but if pay attention to the good lectures he provides you won't need it. Highly recommend.

Very easy going personality which makes the class feel less stressful and gives a good joke here and there. Not a ton of work but still a good amount to keep you busy. I'm not the best test taker which usually brings my grade down but he offers lots of extra credit options which saved me. Records lots of lectures to help you study. Great class!

I love the way his class is set up. He gives you your assignments in two week increments. Making it so all your class work, including quizzes, were open and could get done at any time. He gave about 1-2 extra credit assignments each week. Very good recorded lectures that actually pertained to his quizzes.

This was my second Bio class from him because I just love his style. He makes learning easy and not stressful. The tests are all open book so you pretty much have the answer keys and aren't expected to memorise everything. You learn the key concepts quickly and his lectures are pretty interesting. He provides extra credit which is really nice too.

Professor Daytons class is fairly involved, but everything is pertinent and he keeps it interesting. I liked the layout for the online course. He provided the textbook, but I never opened it, as his lectures/PowerPoints were sufficient. Definitely have to listen/attend lectures and take notes, and keep up to date. Lots of material!

Professor Dayton is the coolest professor! He's super intelligent and funny, and it shows through his lectures. If you miss the zoom, he posts it to modules so you can watch it later. You can try the extra credit kahoots as many times as you need, which covers pretty much everything on tests. This class was a breeze with him-- I'd highly recommend!

Awesome A&P prof! Took the class hybrid, so still went in for labs, and had in person lab exams, which were the hardest part of the class. He definitely prepares you for every exam. He totally got a chunk of preserved cat matter on his lip when demonstrating lung function and it was hilarious!

Professor Dayton is a polymath that convinced me to pursue neuroscience through his lectures. I have never taken a class with someone as passionate, articulate, and inspiring as him. Thank you so much for a wonderful class.

This was the first Biology course that I took at Pierce College, and I have to say that Kyle Dayton was incredible! His syllabus is daunting; however, he is flexible and responds to emails (through Canvas only) within a few days. I do recommend that if you need accommodations, you make sure to ask ahead of time. Recommend him to all!

The class was very easy, and I recommend you want to get a good grade easily. The downside was the professor. He often got confused by students' questions and appeared arrogant or degrading. He can work on that, but he is a young professor, so that arrogance will be prevalent. He was an okay dude. The class was easy, though.

Professor Dayton made this class so comfortable for me. During lab, he would constantly walk around asking if we had questions and answering them, which helped with my fear of public speaking.

AMAZING! this professor takes the time to make sure you're not left behind. He walks around the table groups during labs to check in on us. He gives easy and a lot extra credit,its smart to do it. the work load is manageable as long as you don't slack off.exams are online which I liked.He responds back quickly and he is super friendly

Kyle is great, your grade in this class really depends on how well you do on exams. I would get a 90/100 and I would still drop my grade by a precent or 2. He is super chill though, helpful during lab and isn't a tough grader. Lots of extra credit to do so, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to pass this class unless you don't try at all.

If you need a science credit just take him. Dayton goes out of his way to make everything easier for his students. The workload is super light (he doesn't believe in homework). All I had to do outside of class was read a few text chapters and watch videos every week. This class has very interesting material and Dayton is great at teaching it.

Kyle is a great teacher with an awesome teaching style that he tries to gear toward everyone and it made the class really enjoyable to be apart of. I'm really happy I got to take a class of his again.
