very good teacher. Cares about the students and will help you pass. Thought his way of teaching was very interesting.
Professor Goyette is awsome! He knows his stuff. He loves what he teaches. He gives excellent powerpoint slides. His notes are to the T! Pay attention and he gives you the answers to the test. Yes you will need a book outside reading. He does have questions from the book on the test. "OUTSIDE READING" Multiple choice test with an essay. TAKE HIM!
Awesome teacher. Notes are to the point and on the test. The tests are super easy if you study the notes. He is also very helpful because he wants all his students to pass.
I took Prof. G for both sections of history and loved his courses. His lectures are crystal clear and he really wants his students to do well. He is very energetic and encourages you to do well. Take his courses!
I like this class and I would take him again. If you take notes and read the textbook, you'll do fine......and he's not bad to look at neither :D
One of the best history teachers ever. SUPER organized, very detailed lectures. He makes the information interesting. Only 4 major tests, no essays/papers outside the ones on the test. Highly recommend him, take him if you can. Only bad thing is that you have to keep up with the reading, but other than that there's nothing negative to say about him
GREAT TEACHER! take him. end of story.
Goyette is a really good teacher, he makes history sound awesome (which to some people it sounds boring).. essay with every test, reviews posted on blackboard, you have to read the book. He is every organized, and he teaches with a powerpoint presentation. He is also not bad to look at... :D
4 tests with essays and required reading for each section you're tested on. He's really enthusiastic about History and you can tell he cares. He's funny and very willing to help you pass the class. Taking him for 1302.
he makes history fun. if you cant stand hitory and think its boring.. this guy will prove you wrong. 4 tests with short essay that isnt complicated or difficult. skim the chapters at the library. no need to purchase text book. study notes over powerpoint (on black board) take him. you will pass register for his class.
He's a really good teacher, you do use the book, but you can pass without it. There's 4 tests/essays you have to do, like 10 questions are from the book.. usually essay is worth 60% and questions 40%.. the last test he gives extra credit points. He is a really good teacher, I learned a lot.
I was so dreading this class as I hate history. Thanks to this WONDERFUL professor I enjoyed every minute of class. He makes learning fun and easy. I took summer course only 3 exams which were easy and chapter quizes which you can do at home. You must take him and hes not bad looking. ;)
He is an awesome teacher took him for a summer session and i was exited to go to class , he explains very well and makes the class interesting. test is an essay and some multiple choice . he is jus a great teacher ! take him you would not regreat it.
He's a cool teacher. As my first professor in college, I thought it'd be difficult to keep up with classwork, but he made it interesting by telling us stories of when he was younger. He gives great lectures & makes going to class "less painful" especially in the morning. His tests aren't difficult at all, but make sure you go to class & take notes
Cool guy i guess.Hates conspiracy theorists with a passion. Goes on rants about when he was young, so if you feel like wasting time take him. Tests are 40 questions, 60% essay. He gives u essay topics in advance. Write as much as possible! Very easy tests.U need the book for online quizes. Doesn't allow voice recording. i would prob. take him again
He is a great teacher! He knows his stuff and doesn't bore the whole class. The book isn't really needed so that's a plus! It's a fairly easy class as long as you show up and pay attention the test are over exactly what he goes over. I would recommend his class to anyone i had to drop because i was behind but i plan on taking him next year :)
He was such a great teacher! I loved this class and I'm sure you will too!
GREAT TEACHER! Wish i would have taken him for my first history class. He is very clear and understanding and knows his stuff. Also has great stories to tell. They only actual "tuff" part was doing the chapter readings. its usually just one chapter per week. Other then that his class is very interesting and laid back.
He is a very cool teacher! He knows his stuff and teaches it well, he tells stories and can make the class laugh, makes history fun. Make sure you do the reading quizzes and you'll pass!
Great teacher! He is one of my all time favorite teachers and I have been attending college since I was 15 (I am now 17 about to turn 18)He is very interesting. He talks about his childhood and his everyday life. The test consist of multiple choice and short answer questions, which you know of in advance. I highly reccomend him.
He is awesome! One of my Favorite prof of all times. He is so clear abt what will be on exams. No reviews though, but if you show up for class and take good notes, you will have what you need! He's 'easy on the eyes', an all around good guy, funny, and you can tell he loves what he teaches. Uses PP in class. Only 3 exams. No papers.
Loved his class. He made history so interesting. I am taking him again for 1302. As long as you go to class and listen, do the reading assignments, you should make an A.
He made learning so interesting!! I have seriously have never learned so much in one semester. I absorbed so much. His tests are easy if you take good notes. I recommend taking him.
I am enjoying his class very much.he is very fun to listen to and has your full attention. He really reminds me of my brother a lot. My brother is very smart like he is.and my brother and him are both very sweet. I gotta say this is the most kind hear ted professor I've met in my entire life. He really knows how to keep anyone listening to him.
I've taking him for 1302 and I also had his 1301 history class last semester. Simple multiple choice questions on tests, study your notes and youll be fine. He's very easy and talks about the information like its just a normal conversation, not a scripted lecture. Overall this has helped me remember so much more information! Highly recommended!!!
He is awesome! Taking him for 1301 now and going to take him for 1302 in fall. Great teacher, knows the material and is easy to talk to. Lectures are fun and he tells it like it's a story instead of a lecture. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed the online class simply because it was straight to the point, you read the book you take quizzes and exams, even at the end he dropped the classes 3 lowest quiz grades.
Liked his online class. Very straightforward. Weekly assignments with an essay/mc exam at the end of every unit, but as long as you read the book and keep up with the assignments you should be fine. He also responds to emails quickly if you ever have questions.
Have taken him for both sections of US history and he's awesome! Class is lecture based but the lectures are pretty interesting. Reading quizzes for homework are easy if you read the book and do them every week. One of the best history teachers I've ever had.
Great teacher. Im a slacker and never really pay too much attention in class, but this guy tells stories about the history and makes it interesting. Just write down the important things he says in lecture and its an easy A on the test. Oh and he doesn't take roll :)))) skip all you want and do good on the tests. Wolf Gang
I take an early morning class and have no problem paying attention. For a 7am class, he's not bad to look at either.
Great teacher. Wish I had taken him for first half of history.
He's a very good teacher, he explains everything clearly,I don't like history but I really enjoyed it. The powerpoints are on blackboard but its better if you go to class obviously, you don't really need the book. The tests are easy, when you start the semester he gives you 3 questions to memorize but he only choose 1 for the test,
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! ALL TESTS ARE ESSAY FORMAT. SO DIFFICULT. Weekly quizzes, 2 essay tests....These reviwes are decieving. Super hard. Quizzes = 30% Tests = 70% of grade.
Took his online class in the spring. Exams are essay but he gives you a review sheet with 4 possible essays and 2 are on the test so you have the essay questions in advance to study for. He responds quickly to emails.
Very awesome teacher. Very easy, he is very clear with his lecture and lightens up the class with humor. Suggest you take him you wont regret it!! :)
He is AWESOME! I have learned & remembered so much in that one semester than in all my highschool history classes combine! He makes History very interesting, and it is, who knew!? Made great test grades, if you read the book every week the quizzes are easy! He may be stict with people who are illprepared but overall FANTASTIC:)
Just finished his online course and liked it a lot. Very straight forward, quizzes and exams based on textbook. He's quick to respond to email. Taking him for 1301 in person this semester.
Loved his class! Best history course I've ever taken.
Took his 1302 8 week course. It's tough but if you keep up with assignments you'll do OK. I have no interest in history but I enjoyed the class more than I thought. He's very responsive to email.
Class was easy, and his lectures are funny. He keeps you interested. His tyests are based on his lecture notes and then you have to write an essay as well. Online quizzes as well, which aren't hard.
Excellent professor, very clear and helpful
Professor Goyette is a fantastic teacher & he is very encouraging to his students. I very much enjoyed being in his online class. You will use the book 100% & you must read every chapter thoroughly in order to do well on the quizzes. The essay tests are very detailed and he gives you a great format. I highly recommend Professor Goyette!
Can't say enough great things about him. Have taken him for both history courses and he rocks! Talks about history like it's a big story and tells funny stories about the people. You'll love the class. He's pretty good to look at too.
Loved his class! Wish I'd taken him for the first half.
He's awesome. Weekly reading quizzes and essay exams. Tells history like its a story. Loved his class.
Online course is great. 3 units with chapter quizzes and an exam at end. Responds quickly to email. Enjoyed class.
Hes an amazing professor. He loves history and his job. I was NOT interested in U.S. history at all going in but how he explains everything really drew me in and wanted to know more. Class is simple read your chapters, take your reading quizzes and tests.
Prof Goyette makes history so entertaining! He makes it sound like a soap opera! I've never been interested in history before his class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you have to show up to get the notes he puts on Pp. Study, read the chapters for the quizzes (one every week) and you'll be fine! Definitely taking him for history 2!
Loved loved loved him. Great teacher awesome class.
I loved this class! He is an absolutely awesome teacher. i highly recommend him to anyone taking this class. I took him for both History classes this summer. Online was SUPER easy, take it online if possible. He posts assignments and potential exam questions on blackboard, so you know exactly what to remember for the exam.
His online class was EASY! I just wished he would've gave us pp. The way they are explaining him on the others isn't the experience I got from him.
Had no interest in history before and loved this class and like history now. He tells history like it's a story and can tell he loves what he does. Would take him again if I had another history to take. You'll love him. He's pretty funny too.
He's cool when he actually shows up.
Took his HIST 1302 course last spring and loved it. He's awesome. Answers questions if you have them and responds to emails quickly. Got a B but liked going to class and hearing his lectures.
Had NO interest in history before taking hist 1302 class. He's really funny and tells history like it's a long story. I kinda like history now. Exams are mostly essay, but if you take notes you'll be fine.
Took class over summer. Great class awesome prof.
Took him for 1310 last year and taking 1320 with him now. Can't say enough nice things about him. Actually cares and wants you to do well. Lectures are interesting and he tells funny stories about all the people and events. Class is good overall. Doesn't hurt that he ain't bad to look at either.
Taking him now for his 8wk online. 3 essay exams. Gives you a 5 essay review for each exam. 2 essays will be on exam but does not tell you which ones. So unless you can write 2 essays in 1.5hrs, you will be writing 15 essays total. 15 reading quizzes- 10 ?'s and 15min time limit. Drops 2 lowest quiz grades. Must read book. Wouldnt recommend online.
This class is extremely hard and tedious. I agree with the last posting. No reviews, no discussions. Just extensive reading with quizzes and essays. Wouldn't recommend him online.
Just finished his 8 week online course and liked it. 3 essay exams, gives you the possible essay questions in advance. If you prepare them beforehand you just have to insert them into exam. Responded to every email I sent him within a few hours and gave me feedback on how I could improve my essay writing.
8wk online course is easy if you actually do the work. Essay exams (he posts reviews with the possible questions) and online reading quizzes (multiple choice). Fast paced but if you read the book you'll be fine
best history class i ever took online. 8 wk mini. i had to really read the book to take the quizes. 1 quiz per chapter 15 minutes. exam is essay questions which is you read the book are a piece of cake. exam review given. replies back to emails quickly. very helpful and nice. highly recommend him!!!
Very straightforward. If you read the chapter, the quizzes are a breeze. The exam questions are essay, but he gives them to you at the beginning of the semester. If you are a serious student, you will make an A. The comments below that gave bad reviews obviously didn't read the chapters, or the syllabus. I made an A and finished the class early.
He rocks. Simple as that
You don't get any MORE straightforward than this! If you don't read the book, no one to blame but yourself. Read the chapter, take the exam. Those comments about the essays do not make sense, he GIVES you the essay questions prior to the exam so you can do all 5 and then use the 2 that you are assigned. GREAT CLASS!
Professor Goyette's class is easy and fun! Hsi lectures are really fun and entertaining. His exams are all based off lectures so make sure you take good notes. He provides exam reviews before hand & the quizzes require the book but are fairly easy.
He's a beautiful man. Smart, Funny, Understanding. Easy Class.
He's nice to look at, if you know what I mean. His class is fairly simple. He explains history like a story. Easy.
He's nice to look at His class is fairly simple. He explains history like a story. Easy.
Great professor. Learned a lot from him. He always made class interesting!!
Online course was very straightforward. Reading quizzes and essay exams. Professor was always responsive to email. Don't agree with post below, every time I asked for feedback on essays I got a detailed email back with how I could improve. Enjoyed class.
Loved this class and professor. Can't say enough nice things about him. Had no interest in history before and now love it. Take his class if you can.
HORRIBLE online Professor, do not take him!!!!!!
8 week online course is easy if you do the work. Give you feedback if you ask and essay exams where you get the possible questions in advance. Straight forward course.
Prof. Goyette is a great professor. He loves what he does, and helps make history interesting. You do have to study and show up to class but it's not a very hard class. Took him 1301 at school and 1302 online loved him both times! He works with you the best he can. Take Him, you wont regret it.
I took this class online (History 2) online this summer. There is a lot of reading involved but the quizzes are from reading the chapters. Tests were essays. Super easy, reviews are the possible essay questions. Way better than multiple choice because your grade is basically given to the amount of reading and work you put in. Awesome online course!
The professor is very interesting and knows how to interact with his students.
Professor Goyette loves the material and makes it relevant and interesting. He gives you multiple essays to study for each test in advance. If you are looking for multiple choice questions and one paragraph essay answers, do not take this course. He is fair, but expects his students to put in the work to earn their grade.
Loved taking this professor online! He makes it clear what you will be doing all semester. Mostly papers but he gives you possible essay questions before the tests. I am not very good with history but I passed his class. The papers are way better than taking a test. He doesn't grade too hard as long as you know what you're talking about.
He has an outgoing and fun personality, but the thing that I overall hated about this class were the book quizzes. Every single week (unless there was an exam or holiday) there is a stupid 15 minute timed 10 question quiz based on the chapter in the textbook. I hated those things with a passion. But despite that we only had 3 exams in one semester
I took this teacher online my second semester of college. We didn't really have any assignments to turn in, just reading for a couple of weeks and then writing an essay about a randomly generated topic taken from the chapters we had read. I got a bit lazy this semester, and didn't even really read or apply myself in this class and I still made a B.
Great teacher, who made history lectures very interesting. Clear expectations and grading scale. Just pay attention to everything in reading and notes. He gives the essay possibilities ahead of time, and if you can answer all of them well, you can basically pass the tests.
He kept his lectures interesting and entertaining. Tests are split into a few multiple choice questions that are all lecture-based and an essay which makes up a majority of your grade, so it is helpful to prepare for the essays ahead of time. You MUST read your textbook if you want a good grade on the, approximately, 15 online quizzes given.
Professor Goyette was a great teacher and does not expect much, he gives all rules and deadlines on the first day. Exams were based on lecture so attendance is required for passing
I didn't have any background on US history before taking this class, and I told him that at the beginning of the semester and he understood and tried to help me and he did. by the end of the semester I knew a lot of new things. I'm taking him again for HIST 1302
Great professor! History is usually a tricky subject for me but he made it very clear! Answers questions very thoroughly, keeps you entertained, tests were a little difficult (for me at least) but nothing horrible. He is a very attractive human being... stay focused my friends.
Professor Goyette was a great teacher, very energetic, smart, and professional. The only issue is he would miss many classes and have other people cover his class, My course was every Tuesday/Thursday and he seemed to miss every Thursday class except a hand full of times. Either way I liked his teaching technique and energy! AND HE'S GORGEOUS!!!!!!
He is a really nice teacher but when you make appointments to meet with him he cancels them then when you keep asking him about rescheduling he keeps making excuses as to why he can't meet with you. I eventually gave up.
Best professor ever. And hot!
He's funny, but misses a lot of class, so far he's only actually taught class about 6 times and the semesters almost over. Grades a bit hard for him to of missed as many lessons. Online chapter quizzes are about 15 minutes for 10 or 15 questions. For every 10 seconds you go over he deducts 1 point off of your quiz grade. I would not take him again.
I took professor Kyle for history 1301 and for 1302 ! I really enjoyed his class and he goes out of his way to help the students! If there was history 3 I would totally take him again.
Professor Goyette, was a great professor! His lectures were semi-long, but we got out about 20 minutes early everyday. Also, He was very entertaining. Another thing, you have to read to be able to pass the reading quizzes Overall, I would take him again.
Hands down the best professor that I have ever had. He knows exactly what he's teaching, both forwards and backwards, and makes every lesson enjoyable. He is absent from class quite a bit due to extenuating circumstances, however, most of his classroom lectures are not even necessary to ace the course as long as you do the required reading.
He looooves what he does but the quizzes are nothing like the stuff you learn and read
