Great teacher, very thorough. Will review until you "get it".
He really good if you want to learn then he will help you but if you dont really care then expect an F because in his class your grade depend what you want if you want an A study Do hw get 5/5 and be there on time
Great math teacher and extremely helpful. If you do the work you will have no problem at all with Kyle. Very pleasant and nice instructor. I learned a lot in this class and must say I have been out of school so long that I hadn't seen an algebra book in 20+ yrs. thanks to Kyle I love math now and so eager about moving to the next level.
Great teacher! i normaly hate math but i actually enjoy going to this class because all you had to do was take notes. He does go through the notes fast, but if you need help he does slow down to help you. I don't like math but with good instructors like him, your chances of passing are pretty good.
Great teacher, the best I Ever had, too bad he doesn't teach the other math class I need, he is on top of everything, very very helpfull even on his days off he will reply to your questions, loved him!
Best Professor. Hands Down. Very smart, knows his math. He wants all of his students to do good & is very concerned when a student falls behind. Very chill & laid back. He really does care. If you're stuck on a math problem & email him, he'll email you back ASAP, even on his days off. He's very passionate about his classes & math that he passes it on to his students. I've never had a professor like him before, but glad that I took his class. TAKE HIM!! You won't regret it :)
Mr. Kyle was very knowledgeable teacher he cared about his students. I hadn't math in over 20 years and passed his 104 class with a B. I wish I could have him for my remainder math courses. He makes fun!
Best math teacher at Chabot. Makes math fun for those that finds math challenging!
Best statistics teacher ever!
Really good teacher! Wants you to pass the class and is very helpful!
BY FAR ONE OF THE WORST MATH TEACHERS I HONESTLY HAD. ALWAYS WENT TOO FAST AND DIDN'T REALLY CLARIFY THE CHAPTERS OR SECTIONS VERY WELL. ALSO PRACTICALLY EVERYDAY FOR ATTENDANCE WAS A QUIZ SO IF YOU WEREN'T HERE OR WERE SICK THEN THERE GOES YOUR POINTS IN THE CLASS AND YOUR GRADE. IF YOU WANT TO STRUGGLE AND FAIL THEN TAKE HIM!!
I took him for summer and I have a strong interest in math. He was helpful when I had questions about the math problems and clear when explaining them in layman's term. The grading was pretty easy as long as you did your homework, studied, and did the pretest. I highly recommend him.
He is a very helpful instructor. If you don't understand something, all you have to do is ask and he will clarify it. He takes his time and is a very fair teacher .
I have always really struggled with math. He made it super easy to understand and yes there was a quiz at the beginning of class almost each day but if your a responsible adult and can get to class on time it will help your grade and he practically gives you the answers! I wish I could have him as a teacher for all my math classes.
Kyle is great at explaining material. His in class notes correlate to the homework assigned nicely and the practice tests he provides are extremely relevant to the actual tests. He will take time to explain any question thoroughly to any student. And is relaxed and understanding.
Kyle is an AWESOME teacher! He genuinely understands his students and cares for them. He is always reasonable and just an overall well rounded person. Bottom line, TAKE HIM!
I would highly recommend Professor.
If you're one that struggles with math, take this class, Mr. Kyle is very clear with the examples that he gives and is very passionate with math. If you Email him with a question, he answers it fairly quickly, even on weekends. One thing you need to do though is that when it comes to tests, make sure you study for them. Also show up to class...
I've struggled with math my whole life. This is the only math class I've EVER passed with an A. He is the most helpful teacher I've ever met. He's dedicated so much time to practice tests, worksheets to help you understand, will help w/ HW & will stay after class or go to math lab with you. Some of the tests he would let you make up a few points.
Kyle is a great teacher, super easy and also very helpful if your having a hard time. He gives his phone# so if you need help, USE IT. He texts and helps with homework. Chill, young teacher!
Mr. Ishibashi is a very nice teacher who is always ready to help you. He would be in the computer lab so you could go and get extra help from him if needed. He gives practice tests which are soooooooo helpful we had three test and quizzes and homework. Very nice and down to earth.
Mr. Ishibashi is a wonderfult teacher. YOu have quizzes everyday, this is how he monitors attendance. You have HOMEWORK everyday however they are not due the following day you have time to work on them. He will tell you when you have to turn them in. You have a say on what day you want your tests to be you have 3 test, one final!
Mr Kyle is the best teacher in the world. He is funny af, and I have learnt a lot from him. I liked going to his class. Overall, he is a good teacher.
Kyle goes above and beyond to help you, all you need to do is ask. Best math teacher hands down.
Mr. Ishibashi is so helpful! He makes math doable for anyone! He speaks very clear! Very informative in other subjects as well. Take him if you can, even if the hours aren't convenient! You'll comeback and thank me! Did I mention he isn't bad looking either? Yea take him!
He goes above and beyond to help students. You can reach him by email or text for help with homework. He will repeatedly explain questions for clarity if needed. He grades fairly but nicely. Quiz everyday for attendance. Sometimes gives extra credit. Stay after class and in the math lab to assist with homework. He is very punctual as well. Great!
I took this class during the summer and was just hoping to pass with a C since I knew it would be a fast paced class and I'm not very good at math, But I ended up getting an A! :) Kyle is an amazing professor, he really cares about his students, if you want to pass there's no reason why you shouldn't, he will explain until you get it. Take him!
I thought of dropping the class bc it was too hard and too much during a Summer semester. I have had a hard time with math since I was in middle school. But Mr. Ishibashi discourage me from dropping. I stayed, worked hard and asked for help whenever I needed. If I passed this class anybody can, as long as you do what you are supposed to do.
Gets frustrated when you ask for clearer understanding to problems on board. No point in asking the class if we understand, if you are just going to get mad. Yells if you are talking or on phone. He goes super fast when teaching and gives homework EVERYDAY. No extra credit and tough grader. Attendance is mandatory!!
By far the BEST math teacher I taken. Class is easy to follow and he will to go out his way to help you understand it better!
Best math teachAttendance mandatory since quiz is offered in early class easy points. the comment on 11 2 15 talked a lot in class obviously Do your hw and extra credit if offered and you will pass class with C or better btw I am terrible at math and passed haha! Book or Online soft not required He does good lect take notes guys and girls JUSTDOIT!
unclear and rude. expect homework. he's a funny guy, just not for me. I don't recommend
So I had Mr. Ishibashi and it is safe to say he is the worst teacher I have taken. Very rude, disrespectful and doesnt care for the students. He went from being a great professor to down the drain I will never take him again kind of professor. DO NOT TAKE!!
3rd math course w/ Mr Ish & the only math teacher I have taken at Chabot! Book usually not required. He does little mini quizzes before class to take attendance. He does get frustrated if you ask the same questions repeatedly but he is always WILLING to help outside of class time! Talking & on the phone? OK, you are there to learn not to chit chat!
Really a good teacher!!!! helps with everything
He is by far the BEST math teacher I have ever had! I was pretty iffy about taking this class since I am absolutely terrible at it. Expect hw! But dw, its usually due every 2 weeks! Also we have quizzes everyday but he goes over them! The best part is that he gives out study guides and they are the SAME as the test but he does change the numbers.
Best math teacher. Not easy, you have to work for your grade. You wont regret taking him. Just show up and try your best.
Professor Ishibashi is very helpful to any student that needs help with a math problem. The lectures are super straightforward and he will answer any questions you may have trouble with. I enjoyed taking this class during the summer. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who is taking math! He is by far the best math professor I have ever had!
Mr. Ishibashi is the best! He makes the lectures pretty straightforward. He gives a packet of homework whenever he lectures and is incredibly helpful. Don't skip class though .. since he doesn't require us to get the book you need to be in class to get the notes. He also gives a quiz everyday before class for attendance.
Kyle is an awesome teacher. I hadn't taken math in 7 years so I was quite nervous. With Kyle's class, just show up every class, write down everything on the board and you will do fine. He does not require the text book. He lets you redo homework problems you got wrong and that helps your grade a lot! I highly recommend him!!
This guy is amazing! Now here's the funny part, he gave me an F. But I will be taking his class again next fall. I had a conflicting personal schedule, and too many other classes. Attendance is a must, ask for help, and study hard if you want to pass.
Ishibashi is the BEST math teacher I've ever had, he is funny, and pretty understanding if you put the work in. You can not take this class and not show up, attendance is a MUST. You will take a lot of notes, and have homework packets, he doesn't require a book, those are your book. Study hard for exams, do your homework, show up, you'll pass.
Literally my favorite teacher at Chabot! He is just amazing, extremly helpful, if you fail his class it's because you just didn't apply yourself. Stats is hard but he does so much to try to make it easy for you and is ALWAYS there if you have any questions. Hands down best teacher ever. TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WON'T REGRET IT, no book just notes
If you struggle with math then you may have difficult with the material in general, but Ish makes himself available a lot of the time, practically every day. The class is straight forward, no surprises. It's up to you to get help when you need it so take advantage of his office hours. Make sure to do and understand the practice tests!
Best math teacher that I've ever had. I struggled a lot with math in high school (like really struggled). I was very nervous about taking math, but Ishibashi has made math so easy to understand and I came out with an A, originally thinking that I would not pass at all.
You better pay attention closely! He teaches fast, doesn't waist any time. Good professor but Ive definitely had better, others that seem to care a little more about the overall effort you put into the class and what your final grade will be. A little rude, short fuse, kinda funny, young teacher maybe when he gets older he'll lighten up a little...
By far, Kyle was the best teacher Ive ever had. You know those teachers who are great teachers, but fail to reach their audience on more than an academic level? Thats not Ishbashi. 53 wasnt easy by any means, but having a supportive and available teacher made one of my hardest classes easily my favorite class. Take Ishbashi, you wont regret it
Everyone loves Kyle, but really if you expect to learn anything, don't take this class. He makes you learn statistics in an odd way and makes no relation to the actual ideas behind the concepts. He hands you a bunch of formulas and you plug-and-chug them throughout the course. Though his class is easy, it is very poorly structured.
Come on now, Kyle is the GOAT of Chabot and its well-known. He's going to take care of you and make sure you get the basics to set you up for more complex problems. Wished he taught more complex math at Chabot, but if you find your way into 53 there is no other prof to take.
THE REAL MVP. I've taken two courses with Kyle and he is so helpful. If you don't pass this class thats YOUR FAULT. He gives you everything you need to know for tests, lets you gain points back that you've missed on homework, and he is ALWAYS AVAILABLE to help his students. Never met such a chill, helpful teacher. Must take him.. If you can get in!
I hate math and have always had horrible math teachers in high school, never passed math classes so for me to write that I got an A and love him as a teacher says something. No textbook, allows homework corrections in Math 43 and even in 53, available during office hours.
One of the best math professors at Chabot. Homework packets are given out daily but that helps you fully understand the material. Daily quizzes as well. He allows for corrections on the homework and exams so no reason for you not to pass. 10/10 would take Kyle again. No textbook required but graphic calculator is.
I've never taken Kyle because he doesn't teach upper-level math but he's helped me out so much in all of my calculus classes even though he doesn't teach anything above trig. He can explain something to me that I've struggled with for a month in ten minutes or less and I'll truly understand it. He's on Crew's and Professor Leonard's level of GOAT.
Ish is an overall great teacher ! lectures are fast but the examples does help with understanding the definition. Homework is a bit much but I guess it helps you understand the material. Quiz everyday in class. Do the practice exam it does help with passing the actual exam! Grades will not be curved. You get what you put in
Apart from being smart and helping every student (weather or not in his class), he is also super funny. Definitely would take his class again. Also hes super cutie.
Kyle is a great teacher. The best math teacher I've known. His lectures are fast but extremely effective. He's always willing to help you out if you need it. He is very patient, you won't see him mad unless you're being disruptive and rude. 10/10 recommend him, especially if you have a history of struggling with math. He will help you a lot.
Very helpfully always there for you when you need help.
He makes things easy. Maybe a little too easy.
My favorite professor at Chabot. I actually looked forward to going to this class every week. His lectures are fast but engaging, and he makes the material enjoyable to learn.
I took his class this summer. Man it was tough, possible yes but a lot of work. His math class in the summer is very fast pace. We had packets of hw to turn; so stay ahead. Test are heavy, but if you do the study guide youll be fine. One flaw about this teacher is that he started to get impatient, rushy, and got flustered w/ Qs in the end :(
Loves this professor. Makes you work hard to understand the work.
Just add this class this semester straight forward professor, he explains everything great and if he goes fast just tell him to slow down. If you fail that your fault. you have to work hard to pass his class.
Not sure why but this professor has a good sense of humor and I understand the math
I honestly miss his class so much. He made stats so easy and straightforward. Listen in his class, do the hw and the practice tests and you'll be guaranteed an A.
He makes statistics understandable for people of any background with math and he WILL stop to explain or give more examples. Take advantage of revisions and turn your work in early - ask questions during office hours! You can fix your mistakes and you get study guides for tests. Super funny, nice, smart, and helpful. Best math class and prof ever!!
Professor Ishibashi is a great teacher and genuinely an amazing person. He is funny, considerate, fair, helpful, caring, and friendly. His lectures are clear and thorough, and the examples he provides in class are always similar to the homework problems. It is evident that he wants his students to do well and succeed.
Mr. Ish is a really great professor. Honestly, as long as he see's that you're committed, he will be really easy on you. Best advice I could give is to always ask him for help and do the homework! You can pass the class with missing quite a few lectures as long as you really do the homework. But his lectures are the best. Super helpful.
I suck at math in general and I received an A+ in this class. No kidding. That says a lot for me and its all thanks to Mr. I. Most caring, clear, and helpful professor ever. Amazing teacher. Show up to class, do homework in time, ASK HIM FOR HELP, and I GUARANTEE you will pass! If I could, I would 100% definitely take him again.
He is a good teacher but a tough grader. Even though I put full effort in his class, he did not give me the grade I deserved.
Great teacher. He really wants to help you learn. Stats was difficult regardless but he made it so much more understandable.
Professor Ish is legit. He has office hours before and after classes available to help you with homework. Use them to your advantage. He also gives you practice test questions packs before each test to help you get the idea whats going to be on the test.
Professor Ishibashi is the nicest and most lenient professor. He really cares about his students learning math and it shows. I enjoyed Math for once ! Yes there is a-lot of homework but it all helps you learn the material. He is straightforward and very organized ! Get ready to take notes the whole class period ! Pay attention & ask questions! :)
Kyle changed my perspective about statistics, I failed the course twice until I took it with Kyle. His teaching style is much easier to grasp than other professors and he REALLY takes his time explaining every little detail. He gives practice exams that are EXACTLY like the real exam so make sure to practice those! TAKE HIM! HE IS THE BEST!
Very good professor, has all the lectures on his youtube channel so that you can take the best notes. All tests/quizzes are open note, so as long as you do your lecture notes you will get an A. Also responds to text or email with detailed answers and feedback.
I had one of the most challenging semesters of my life due to covid, home issues, etc. Professor ishibashi worked with me and convinced me not to drop my classes. If for no other reason, take him because he cares. He will help you every step of the way to pass. Best professor Ive ever had and trust me Ive had some great ones.
The easiest, understandable, and respectful professor I have had so far in my college experience. He is very forgiving and wants the best for his students. He is wholesome, funny, and in general a very cool guy. Please keep teaching Ishibashi!!!
Mr. Ishibashi is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He actually cares about his students and his lectures are so clear and concise and it is material that is actually on the exams. You can also text him outside of class if you ever need homework help. I would literally take every single level of math with him if I could!!
I never, EVER give ratings for professors, but Professor Ishibashi is just an AMAZING, if not, the BEST stats teacher! His lectures are thorough and he's super helpful! Every time I've texted him for help with homework, he's always been able to assist me. If you need to take Stats, TAKE PROFESSOR ISHIBASHI!
This class is a challenge of its own but he is a great teacher who is super willing to help you succeed. I would take all my math courses with him if I was able to. I highly recommend taking stats with him because he wants you to succeed just as much as you do. Super awesome professor!
He's the best math professor I've had ever. He explains the topics pretty well that it was easy for me to understand. The homework packets come in handy in learning the material and reviewing for the midterm/final. 10/10 would take again.
I am awful with numbers and anything math related, but Professor Ishibashi made this class enjoyable! He is very caring & is always available to help answer any questions/concerns. His lectures are straight forward and easy to understand. He is flexible to everyone's needs. Amazing professor!
Best math professor EVER! I wish I could take all of my math classes with him. The class itself might be a little complicated but with him was really enjoyable and not stressful. He is always available for his students and really cares about students succeeding. The way he explains and gives the class is just AMAZING! Definitely the best!
Hands down the best Professor ever. I wish he teaches all the subject haha. I suck at math but he made it easier for me. His lectures are clear and made the class enjoyable. No groups works or presentations needed. Just walk and pay attention to the lectures. He does provide practices packets before the exams to help you :) Highly recommend
I highly recommend this professor especially if you have a hard time with any math class. He is very accessible, organized, and super helpful. His lectures are straight forward making it very easy to understand. He cares about your success as much as you do and goes out of his way to help you succeed. Amazing professor! Take his class!
He is the best professor I've had. He cares about the students and he's lectures are very clear. Take his class!!
Attendance is not mandatory since he posts videos of the lectures on Canvas. You can message him outside of class and he answers very quickly. The homework does have a lot of questions but as long as you don't let it pile up (don't procrastinate), then you should be fine. All exams were open-note.
Great Professor. Lectures are clear and easy to understand. And he's very forgiving if you don't get something. was worried about stats, but he made it so much better.
Profesor Kyle is so understanding of homework being late still gives you full credit open notes on quizzes and homework. He gives great feed backs and also has a lot of in person office hours also zoom.I missed a few days and he did not marked me absent you have to just let him know days in advanced.I took stats and it was easy.Definitely recommend
prof ishibashi is one of the best math professors ive had. he understands how much students would struggle with the material and explains everything with ease so that the students would understand. quizzes at beginning of class about material learned, not hard at all. he explains it afterwards very clearly. would 100% take him again if i could.
Professor Ishibashi is one of the best teachers i've ever had at chabot. His lectures are very informative and he has them online if you miss class. Attendance isn't mandatory (from what i remember) I missed class a few times and had to watch lecture online. You have quiz's everytime you come to class but he goes over it with you after about 15 min
I hate math and I am horrible at it too, but he made it so easy to understand his lectures are easy to understand and to the point. Open to stay one on one with you, quizzes are class participation exams are open notes. Easy on attendance mine was half in person half online. Not much on extra credit but heavy points on classwork.
His teaching style could definitely use improvement. He talks way too fast, I can barely understand what he's saying. If you are busy with work or other classes, make sure you are on top of it or else you are failing. One thing I noticed is that there is a noticeable difference in how the professor interacts with students (M,F) Ifykyk.
Man, his online videos are so bad. He talks so much unnecessarily; he explains everything so badly. When you miss in-person classes, you have to watch his videos online, but it's just not the same at all. He uses videos from 2020.
Professor Ishibashi is professor who wants his students to succeed he has of option times for office hours and even has videos of his lectures if you miss days. Exams are worth the most on your grade and are simple if you do the homework, quizzes and practice he gives you. I'm not good at math but he made it very easy to understand!
Don't like his style of teaching, just a personal experience.
im giving him a pass because he gave me a passing grade but his class is hard and the test are worth more than half of your grade
Information is online as if you miss a lecture but the class is very easy to pass and the teacher is very helpful.
