5 quizzes. 5 tests. Drops lowest quiz and test. One question quiz(not graded for accuracy)at end of class for attendance which ends up being equivalent to a test grade. super easy
Class is ridiculously easy. 5 tests and 5 quizzes, drop lowest test and quiz grade. He makes the tests straight from the notes he gives, and he writes down his notes for you to right down. If you go to him during office hours he explains everything so well. FANTASTIC professor, one of my favorites.
explains everything verrry well and will explain even more if you go to his office. His tests are very detailed but as long as you study you'll get an A. He writes down all the notes with you in class so you know everything you'll need
Wonderful teacher, speaks clearly and uses great examples, and seems to enjoy teaching as well. You actually need to study if you want an A or a B, but if you do, it's a fairly easy class. Very nice guy. I would highly recommend him.
Great professor, all powerpoint slides are on moodle, writes all notes as he goes along. Very clear when teaching, if you have questions just go to his office hours! Very kind and helpful. 5 quizzes and 5 tests straight from the notes(drops the lowest grade). Go to class! daily attendance "quizzes" will add up to 100 pts!
Teaches very well where students can understand, however the material on the exams come strictly from his notes. Everything he writes down is more than likely going to be on the exam in some form or fashion.
5 quizzes. 5 tests. Drops lowest quiz and test. One question quiz(not graded for accuracy)at end of class for attendance which ends up being equivalent to a test grade. Just memorize the material and come to class and its an A
GREAT teacher. Explains things VERY well and breaks things down for students. Test questions come straight from the notes. Study and it is an easy A. He is excited to teach which makes his lectures very easy to listen to
He was a very interesting professor. Tests require a lot of studying but you can definitely make an A in the class if you study.
AMAZING! Always willing to help and makes the class understandable. Cares about his students. Grading is very fair and helpful! Very funny guy. Best Bio teacher on campus! Would take him for another bio if I was not graduating.
Kemege is one of the best professors I have had at Tech! He makes things so much easier to understand! He gives study guides for each test and quiz and the questions on the test come straight from the notes! I definitely recommend him!
His teaching style is extremely clear and easy to follow. He writes an outline as he teaches, letting you copy it word for word at a reasonable writing speed for your notes. No sidetracking, no filler, and no uncessesary details. Gives you exactly what you need to know while being open to questions and quite enthusiastic. Didn't have to buy book.
Terrible!!!!!! He is the reason why i changed my major. i would never recommend him to anyone!
Even if you hate biology, like me, you'll enjoy Kemege's class. He TRIES to make you get a good grade. He drops your lowest quiz and test (if you do well on the first 4, you can skip the last two weeks). He also only adds your attendance grade (one-minute questions) IF it'll help your grade. As long as you pay attention in class, you'll be fine.
Easy to follow and tests are verbatim off notes. 4 tests, drop lowest score. Every Wednesday(MWF class) is either a 5 question quiz or test. No surprises. I'd say a guaranteed A if you rewrite your notes after class or before the quizzestests. Absolutely no text required.
Dr. Kemege is a great professor who is excited about what he teaches. I took him for BISC 130 and it is a very easy class. He gives five exams and five quizzes and drops the lowest of each at the end of the quarter. You can go to his office hours and he is very willing to answer any questions or look over old tests.
Great teacher that knows what he is talking about. If you go to class he hand writes the notes on the projector so you can make sure to get everything down. Then his test come directly from the notes he writes in class, which you should have copied word for word. No reason not to pass.
Made the class enjoyable, was very organized which made it easy for you to understand and know what was needed on the test
He writes down the notes for you to copy, and that's exactly what you need for the tests. He drops the lowest test and quiz, easy class if you copy the notes and study them! Attendance is a portion of the grade, He is so sweet and really tries to make the topics understandable, definitely taking him again!
His lectures will usually take up the entire time, but he makes them very interesting. Don't worry about buying the textbook. As long as you pay attention, copy down his exact notes and use his study guides on Moodle, you'll do just fine. I highly recommend taking him.
Kemege is incredibly easy. It's easy to the point that it is usually boring. He writes down all of his notes on a piece of paper that is projected on the board, and he is very thorough with this. He drops the lowest test and quiz grade, but they're so easy that this isn't important.
Really long lectures, full of info. Anything in notes is fair game for quiztest. Alternates quizzes ans test each week. Quiz6 MC questions (1 min each)and test around 50-60 MC.
Either get the book or show up for class. Test questions are straight from the lecture. He drops the lowest test grade.
Kemege is hands down the best Biology professor around Tech. His material is very clear and his tests are straight from the notes in class. If you dont go to class or get notes from someone it'll hury your grade. Also drops lowest TestQuiz so if you make As all quarter you don't have to take final, just use it as drop! WISH HE TAUGHT MORE BIO!
I cannot stress enough how amazing Dr. Kemege is! His class consists of nothing but lectures; however, he makes them very interesting. TAKE NOTES. The exams are based directly off of them. Everyone at Tech loves him. Sign up for him and you won't regret it!
He's an amazing teacher. He made my life a little bit easier in Biology especially being a Premed student and a Biology major. His test are easy if you attend class and always welcome to help with anything you don't understand. Highly Recommend!
Loved Dr. Kemege. I'm an engineering major, not much a fan of biology, but he made it bearable. Made A's on every exam, very easy. When I went to his office he showed me his insect collection. He has an obsession with the campus squirrels. Cool dude. 1010 would take again if I had to take another biology.
If you take notes, look over those notes, and FILL OUT THE STUDY GUIDE , there's no reason for you to come out with less than an A.
Dr. Kemege & his crocks are awesome! All you need is the notes and you'll pass. I skipped class and got the notes a lot & just studied the notes the day of & made a B on most tests. If you really want an A there's no reason you shouldn't get one if you try. Kemege has an obsession with squirrels and chlamydia and his corky jokes are so cute.
Write down what he writes down and pay attention, and do the study guide before every quiz/test. He drops lowest quiz AND exam but doesn't allow makeups on either. If your grade is high enough without attendance points, he drops those too. I was able to skip the final because of his grading policy. Fun to talk to one-on-one if you get the chance.
Write down everything that he writes down (it will probably be on a test or quiz)! His lectures are to-the-point and if you have a question, he is quick to direct his attention to you. You will pass with an easy A if you show up to lectures and study the notes and study guide that he provides. Strongly recommend this class!!
Dr. Kemege is the best biology professor at Tech. He writes all the notes along with you in class so you know exactly what's going to be on the test. He makes awkward jokes in class that keep you from getting bored, and he's pretty geeky (but in a cool way!) He very clearly lays out grading criteria and drops the lowest test and quiz grade!
Dr. Kemege is a great professor. He keeps his lectures interesting and all of the material on the quizzes and exams is covered in the lectures. He answers all questions in depth and will add interesting sidebars during his lectures. The class is a really easy A if you just show up.
One of the best Biology teachers I've ever had. He covers all the material that you will need for the exams in his lectures. If you just study your notes and show up (he gives points for attendance) it's an easy A. He drops the lowest quiz AND exam. He loves his Crocs, Chlamydia, and the grey squirrels around campus. Super cool guy!
Best biology teacher I ever had. Show up to class; take the notes. Or don't show up&get them from a friend. Attendance isn't necessary, but you get a grade boost if it's good. Quizzes&tests are straight from the notes. It's a ton of info, but not complicated. Once, he helped me skip lecture&lab to see my bf graduate Basic Training. All hail Kemege!
hes amazing! new addition to Tech. Great introduction for bio majors at tech. Tech needs more Professors that are more interested in presenting important need to know information to students. he bridges the gap and doesnt leave students wondering whats going to be on the test. He Really Cares.
Definitely the easiest biology classes. 5 tests and 5 quizzes. Don't buy the book! He drops your lowest test grade. He goes til the very last minute, but he's funny.
He writes the notes with you. And they are exactly what's on the test!
Awesome Teacher! Really explains the information well, and makes it very interesting! Just took him for BISC 130 and will take him text quarter for BISC 132! He writes the ntoes with you and doesnt give any questions on test you didnt cover in class in depth. Take the notes, study them well, and you should make a B or A on every test!
He gives great lectures, super easy to understand. Helpful study guides and power points. Very clear expectations : 5 quizzes (6 questions) and 5 exams (50 questions). Drops lowest of both grades. NO BOOK NEEDED!!! I don't need anymore biology classes but if I did I'll take him again.
Dr. Kemege is a great teacher! He is so clear and so thorough. His tests are very fair too.
Dr. Kemege is probably the best professor I had so far. His lectures are interesting, tests are easy, and he's super energetic. Write down everything he writes (it will be on a test/quiz). It's almost impossible to fall asleep in his class (his jokes keep the class alert). I strongly recommend his class!!
Awesome teacher!! he loves what he teaches, and you can tell. he drops your lowest test and quiz grades, which is really helpful. the book isn't required, and you don't need it. easy to make an A, i would definitely take him again!!!
One of my favorite professors! He drops the lowest quiz and exam grade. He will write and project his notes and they are all you need to do well in the class. He's also pretty friendly and willing to help you if you need it. Though his tests are easy, he will test you over every note you take so you must go to class! I'd definitely take him again.
If you come to class you wont need the book. His lectures are a good pace and easy to follow, take notes and you will do great in his class. You can tell that he is passionate about biology. Compared to 130 I needed to do more studying for 132
Good teacher. Passionate about biology. Provided scantrons for our quizzes but not for tests. He is happy to help you, if you make the effort to go to his office or email him.
Dr. Kemege is one of my favorite teachers in college so far. He is great at breaking down the information and is very passionate about what he is teaching. His test are super easy if you just pay attention to what he's saying, which isn't hard because he makes class fun.
I love him. He writes all his notes down as he lectures, and there is a study guide on moodle that goes right along with the test. If you copy down everything he writes and use those notes to do the study guide, you're going to do good. There is a quiz every other week and he drops one test and one quiz.
Dr. Kemege is one of my favorite professors. He is passionate and challenging but still makes it easy to pass/get an A. I wish he taught more classes so that I could take them all.
One of my favorite teachers I've had! Really explains the infromation well in a way that students will understand! Needs to pick up more classes to teach for sure! You will HAVE to attend class!! Unless you can get someone to send you the notes from the day you miss. In this class, if you miss a little, you miss a lot!
Kemege is a great professor! If you take notes during his lectures, you will do great on his exams! His tests come directly from the notes! There are 5 exams and he drops the lowest grade! He has been the best college professor i have had thus far. Dr Kemege knows his stuff and if you pay attention and come to class you will do very well. NO BOOK
Kemege is really great. He is very good at answering questions.
I love Kemege, it's just the lectures can get a little boring. You just have to remember to study periodically
Very informative cares about you and your grade. Study notes or you will not pass. Also drops the lowest test and quiz grade.
Kemege is an awesome teacher. You need to show up to class to take notes that will not be available to you otherwise. He uses powerpoints that are on moodle but the notes themselves are never put up. Normal amount of study time and the tests are average as far as difficulty. Great class.
The lab is good. You are given a lab manual that you must keep track of and have to bring to class every time. A quiz is given on the lab at the beginning of the class for the lab that day, so you have to read over it before you go to class. It is taught by a TA and not by Kemege.
I had to drop his class the first time because I struggle with memorization. His test are nothing but the class notes. Second time I took him I made an A. If you struggle with biology or memorizing don't let yourself get behind. He is helpful during office hours. His lectures are boring.
Amazing professor! Clear and consistent in his grading and fantastic! You do not have to attend class BUT, all tests and quizzes are in class and based solely off of notes so if you don't get the notes you won't pass. Wish I could take him for ever BISC course.
One of the best lecturers on campus in my opinion. His lectures are super interesting and the tests are made straight from the notes. He writes the notes with you in class so you know exactly what you should see on the test. He's funny and very knowledgeable. Would absolutely take him if you're given the chance.
He basically takes the notes for you. All you have to do is write them down as he does. The quizzes are easy as long as you study. Also the final test is not cumulative.
Kemege is awesome if you can take him do. He gives so many chances to pass he drops the lowest test, quiz and gives 1 point questions daily that are really easy. All you need to know for the test is to go over anything that has steps ex. cell cycle and he mainly puts a lot of questions of what he recently covered. So don't worry over week old notes
You have a test or quiz every week, so you're moving through the material pretty quickly. His lectures are very easy to follow, and he gives you a study guide before every test telling you everything you need to study. I would definitely recommend him for any biology class.
Okay, I kinda love Kemege. A lot. He's an easy (and fun) A, but here's the deal: some people still managed to have trouble? Just sit near the front and actually take notes and listen and you're golden. No textbook needed. If you don't listen you'll miss out of his super nerdy and incredible sense of humor anyway.
Kemege is so cool in my opinion. You can tell he knows what he's talking about and does everything he can to help his students not only pass but learn the material. If you can answer the study guide questions before each test you'll be golden. I wish he could teach all of my biology classes!
Writes notes for you! Tests are the notes + key terms. An easy class if you study or have already taken AP Bio.
The best tip i can offer is that you find the answer to every question he provides on his cumulative study guide (found on moodle) from your in-class notes. Study that and you will make an A on every test!
One of the most understanding professors I have had. He literally writes every note down with you. Make sure to take the notes, and you will have no problem passing his tests. He gives 5 exams and 5 quizzes BUT he drops your lowest score for both. Would love to take him again for future biology classes!
I love his constant nerdy jokes & his teaching style
Kemege is a great teacher! Come to class, write down everything he does, study your notes, and you'll be fine!
No group projects, and outside of studying - no homework. Best bio class I have ever taken. No other teacher has ever explained this material so clearly to me, even though he moves quickly through it. Test or quiz every Wednesday so it's predictable, and he drops the lowest test grade (all A's means you can skip the final).
This is one of the easiest bio classes i have taken. I passed with an A and didn't study for any of the test. The test go straight with the notes he gives in class. As long as you write those and read over them a few times, you'll pass.
Kemage is a great teacher. Once you get up in your higher level classes you will miss him so much! If you take notes and make his study guide you can easily past the tests. Some questions on the test aren't on the study guide. The quizzes can help or hurt you. He drops lowest grade. This class is GREAT!
Dr. Kemege makes 8AM so much easier! His upbeat personality helps pull you into the lecture which he explains really well. He will answer any question you need him to. His tests are 80% notes 20% random lecture comments, plus he drops the lowest test grade.
Kemege is awesome even though I made a C. Underestimated him alot, STUDY and it will be easy. When I finally took time to study that's when I was able to make A's but it was too late. Don't study his study guide just study your notes and it will cover everything! Pay attention to examples because sometimes it ends up on test.
I'm obsessed with him he's amazing take him and then take him again.
You don't realize how spoiled you are with Dr. Kemege until you get into upper level biologies.
I always enjoy interacting with Dr. Kemege. He is pleasant and interacts well with the class. He seems to genuinely enjoy teaching and it really shows.
Technically a TA teaches this lab under DR. Kemege. All I can say is that the final was pretty hard and brought me down a letter grade. There is a quiz every time you show up, but if you read ahead they are SUPER easy. The assignments are NOT hard, you and your lab partners just have to search for the answer. Make sure you study for the final
LOVE HIM! A great guy and will really work with you on anything you need. He writes the notes down on the board and you just copy it. Study the notes like a textbook and you'll be fine. You can tell he really loves what he's doing and loves what he's teaching.
If you ever get the chance to take one of his classes, DO IT!!!!
Great teacher really easy. Test is in order of notes
Dr. Kemege is great! Although the class is lecture heavy, he writes down the important stuff so you know exactly what to study. Show up, take the notes, study and pass. It's that easy.
Dr. Kemege is highly knowledgeable in his field. Not only that, but he is very approachable and friendly. He will do his best to answer any question that might arise in your mind. My least favorite part of his class was the time. I could only get an 8 a.m., which isn't his fault at all. I highly recommend him as an instructor.
Dr. Kemege is very knowledgeable and passionate about every topic he teaches. He writes notes for the class to copy as he lectures, so he literally gives you everything that is on going to be on tests and quizzes. Paying attention and studying is the key to success for his class.
Kemege is the best! NO BS just facts in his class. Straight to the point. No book needed. A HUGE class, so sit in the front if you can, it will definitely make you focus more. The class is huge, and he does the labs yet he still so easy to contact with and is always kind and he WANTS TO HELP YOU!!!! Make flashcards of notes and you'll do great.
I took him for my first quarter of my freshman year. Hes a good teacher but it is a lot of material. He tells you that he doesnt require attendance but In my opinion, passing without much attendance would be daunting. He is very scheduled with his tests and quizzes which is awesome!
Dr. Kemege is AMAZING. He is very clear and explains everything in detail. He writes down the notes that you need to know and only puts what is in the notes on the test. He is really a great professor and I learned so much in this class.
Kemege is an awesome professor, and the tests are exactly what is on the notes. He will count your attendance grade if it helps you, but won't count it if it hurts you. Very concerned about his students' comprehension!!
Easy to have an A if you showbup to class, pay attention and take notes. Cuz most of his materials are on his notes that he literally write for you on the screen. Look just take him and youll change your mind about Bio ( in a positive way)
Dr. Kemege is a wonderful teacher. Hes really passionate about his work and it really shows in his lectures. He gives you everything you need to succeed in his class.
He's a great professor. He cares about his students and he's passionate about his subject. He's funny and easy to listen to. His class is super easy; he only tests on the notes he takes in class so if you take his notes you'll make an A.
Very easy class if you listen in class and study your notes. Making quizlets for tests helped me finish with an A. great professor, he explains everything in way that makes it really easy to understand.
It is easy, but you really have to study your notes. Even though attendance is optional, show up!!! He gives a daily question worth 1 point. He combines both the daily question & quizzes which makes up a 100 pt grade that can help your grade a lot. But if you don't show up you don't get the point or that extra 100 pt grade.
Dr. Kemege was my favorite professor this quarter. I started his class off not that well, and when I went to his office, he helped me to figure out a way to succeed in his class. He is very caring and is awesome at what he does!
If you're a science major, you have to take kemege and you will not die. Dont fret. You have to go to class to take the notes and study.
Mr. Kemege is an excellent professor in his specialized field. You can take him if you want an easy A. I'd recommend him for any biology major. Oh and you can also show up in the last 5 minutes of class for attendance too.
Dr. Kemege is a phenomenal professor! He is passionate, extremely qualified in his field, and always willing to answer questions. When it comes to how he lays out each class, Dr. Kemege is very predictable and consistent. The tests are not unbearable, but definitely require studying. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed his classes and his lectures.
Dr. Kemege is one of the best professors at Tech. He writes his notes in real-time using a projection screen so the class can keep up with him. He makes the material relatable by giving lots of examples. Overall, great professor. I definitely recommend.
One of the best at tech.
Dr. Kemege is a very nice professor, but if you want to succeed in his class, you pretty much have to have the book. His tests are very tricky. I started out making Fs, ended up with making Cs. If you don't have a thorough understanding of Biology, this will be a very difficult class for you. Try to take Stake.
He truly cares about biology and making sure everyone understands. Attendance is not mandatory, but he gives us notes every class that are strictly based on the test. If you take notes, you basically have the test. I recommend taking him.
Dr. Kemege is probably my favorite professor I have ever had. He makes learning Biology so much fun. His lectures are clear and he is always willing to help or explain something not understood or missed. You do not need the book for this class. Just go to class, take good notes, actually study those notes, and you will be fine.
Dr. Kemege is a good man and a great professor. His class basically boils down to memorizing his notes. Given that his exams are multiple choice, it is fairly easy to get an A if you pay attention in class and occasionally review notes. Don't worry if you're not good at note taking though--all you have to do is literally copy his that he displays.
Hes pretty boring but you can pass the class without coming if you think you know the stuff already
Kemege was a really good professor. His lectures do tend to be heavy certain classes and his tests are exactly based on the notes you take. His questions on the tests are straightforward and all of really is just memorizing the notes. Also, attendance is not necessary if you have someone in the class that can give you notes and attendance code.
He is amazing. I think he's a good lecturer and his notes are easy to follow. Attendance isn't mandatory and as long as you write what he writes you'll be good to go. He is also very caring and approachable, he really wants you to understand.
Dr. Kemege is a great Professor. You have 5 test and he will drop your lowest test grade. He explains things well and has pictures to go along with his lectures so you can even better understand the material. Even though I took this class when we had to move to online format due to COVID 19, he made things simple and easy. Just make sure you study.
Dr. Kemege is very respectful and even a bit funny. He genuinely cares about teaching and providing the best education possible for his students. Very easy class with studying.
Dr. Kemege is a great professor! His class lectures are easy to understand and the tests arent difficult if you take notes and pay attention. I sometimes found it hard to concentrate during his lectures because the class is all online and I would get distracted, but you really need to take the notes to do well. Overall, a great teacher!
Dr. Kemege was a pretty good professor. Although I didnt take him in person, I hope I can soon.
He contacted us prior to the quarter to let us know how his online class would work. All lectures are online and it is work at your own pace but be ready for the tests. The tests are during the time set on boss. Allows practice quizzes and gives extra videos to help understand. Did not require a textbook.
Dr. Kemege is an all-around good professor! He doesn't try to be tricky on his exams, meaning all the material you need to know is in the lectures he has pre-recorded. There are five tests to study for, and the only slightly difficult part is managing your study time, since it's a go-at-your-own-pace class with set dates for tests.
His class only had 5 exams, in total. No homework, attendance, or quizzes, so make sure to take them! He posts lectures on Youtube and makes science fun. For the final exam, he lets you retake an exam just in case. Overall, very great guy and easy class!
Kemege was an easy and funny professor for BISC 130. I took the online asynchronous class, so the only downside was that the prerecorded lectures got boring sometimes. The exams are a BIT difficult but as long as you take the practice quizzes and actually take notes/watch the lectures, its an easy pass. He explains things very well! Take him!
I would not take his class if you have a choice. If you do bad on one test you are screwed.
I actually learned stuff
He is fun to listen to and makes it really easy to take notes. It is clear what he expects you to learn. he is a really nice and straight forward guy. His practice test are short but give an idea of how his test will look. He does not expect you to learn anything unreasonable and tries his hardest to simply things but it is a LOT of material
it could be boring, but he makes it fun. He's a really bubbly personality. The class itself is a lot of coursework and if you miss a lecture you miss a lot because he covers a lot of material. He tries to make studying as easy as possible and even takes notes for you in class. There are 5 tests and no other assignments, & he drops one test. 5/5
He does lecture pretty much every class and only lectures but he keeps your attention if you give it to him. Not tough at all and very energetic. Would def take him again (and I am for BISC 132). DEFINITELY try to sit in front row because he is wayyy more attentive to them.
pay attention in class and you will pass, it's a lot of memorization. Anything he writes down for notes will be on the test. there are only 5 tests but he drops the lowest score
Awesome teacher! Kind of sucks that the only grades are exams but if you go to class and write what he writes, it's an easy A. He also drops the lowest exam which also helps. 10/10
He gives 5 tests, which may seem like a lot, but they help your grade. Instead of only having two tests like some teachers, the material gets broken up to better understand it.
Only five tests, but he drops your lowest. He LOVES what he's doing so I adored this class and his teaching style. If you have the chance, TAKE HIM!! Super funny and kind professor. There's a lot of Quizlets online for his exams that are super helpful. No homework or extra classwork other than daily note-taking.
This is the 2nd class I've taken with Kemege. I recommend him to everyone- he's super helpful, positive, and interested in his subject. The only grades are tests, and it does require a lot of studying so I recommend taking it online if you can because you can do class whenever. Overall, he's a really great teacher and does a great job!
He's very energetic and loves what he teaches. Some of the material might be difficult to grasp, but if it is, he wants to make sure that you understand it. He is very clear with how he grades and what will be on his tests. He's a great professor overall!
Take him online! He posts every video of lectures with the PowerPoint so you can watch and take notes whenever. There are also quizlets for the exams to help you study!
I took Kemege for bisc132 and it was so fun! He makes his lectures interesting with his enthusiasm. There were 5 tests and he drops the lowest grade, so after averaging an A on the first four tests, I didn't have to take the fifth test! If you miss his class, no harm done; he has his lectures posted online! Just make sure you study!
Take every class you can with Dr. Kemege. He cares about his students and his tests are really easy. If you learn the slides you'll make an A every time. The option final is just as easy as the other tests. Nothing is cummulative. I looked forward to his class everyday. PLEASE TAKE HIM!!!
Took BISC130 online asynchronous. You only have to get online at class time on test days. Very easy. 5 tests as long as you study what he tells you to write in the videos you will pass easily. Also has an optional exam retake at the end as a final just to retake an exam you mightve missed or wanted a better grade on. Highly recommend him!
Dr. Kemege is so enthusiastic about what he teaches, which makes class enjoyable. If you ever don't feel like going to class, he has all of his lectures recorded on YouTube, and they are a lot shorter than the hour 15 minute class period.
He is very clear about what is on the tests. Easy to pass
Dr. Kemege was great! He is very knowledgeable about biology and wants his students to learn. The material is explained in a way that is easy to understand and study. Would definitely take again.
Dr. Kemege is an awesome teacher. It's just lectures and tests for the intro level classes, but his lectures aren't confusing and he explains everything very well. He's a very animated, fun guy which makes the lectures interesting. I will definitely be taking Kemege in the future. His tests are pretty straight forward as well
Took his BISC-130 online, even through a screen, you could feel his passion for the subject, making understanding difficult topics with relevant examples easy. Exams are what is discussed in the lectures and there is no homework. He communicated openly with the class on exam dates and moodle changes, would take again!
What else can I say that others have not? Professor Kemege is absolutely great!
Dr. Kemege is AWESOME! His lectures are super interesting, he's fantastic at explaining things. The lower level bio class lecture is a large lecture room, so all you're doing is taking notes and then tests. The exams are pretty easy if you studied. They aren't designed like he wants you to fail, just go over your notes. He's pretty funny too!
Love this man!
BISC130 is mostly just Intro Bio from high school. Kemege provides so many resources, online and in person lectures, VERY straightforward, drops lowest exam. If you know anything about biology, you're in the clear. If you don't, a little studying is all you need. Also posts practice quizzes, all of which have questions on the exam.
Kemege is an amazing Biology professor!! His examples make understanding what's going on a lot easier, very good professor and great lectures. he also says silly stuff from time to time, overall really enjoyable classes!
Kemege is seriously one of the best teachers ever. Teaches complex information and makes it understandable. Writes out everything you need to know. Litteraly so great.
Great professor, but you only have 5 test for the whole quarter, and no other chance for points just the 5 test. This sucks because like me i failed 2 of the test and could not bring my grade up
Dr. Kemege is an amazing professor. I wish he taught more classes at Tech so I could take him again. His lectures are very upbeat and he is clearly extremely passionate about his job. His exams are relatively easy and he drops the lowest exam grade; however, exams are the only grades in his class, so try and do well on them.
Easy class and he's always in a good mood. Attendance was not mandatory and he uploaded all of the lectures on YouTube. Exams are only on the notes he takes during class so if you study those you'll get an A.
Kemege is an amazing biology teacher. You can tell he is passionate about the subject. I hadn't taken biology since freshman year of high school and I did well in his class. His lectures are easy to understand because he simplifies the material into something everyone can understand.
I've taken BISC 130 and 132. Grading is 5 exams- he drops your lowest exam grade. No homework. Textbook not needed. The only things on the exams are the notes he takes in class. His lectures are on youtube, if you miss class. Attendance is not mandatory. He is always available in his office hours and you can look at your exams during this time.
I loved Kemege for BISC 130 and 132, super easy good and fun classes. The reason I'm getting on here is to issue a warning. Most people put off BISC 315 cell bio because it is upper level class but I WISH I had taken it right after 132 with everything kemege taught me fresh in my brain. I suggest taking 315 the quarter after if possible. Good luck!
Gives 5 exams and drops the lowest one, and all of the videos are on YouTube since attendance isn't mandatory.
He is the best at what he does and extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise. Every lecture is own moodle and YouTube. He also grades the tests really good and he tries to make sure all the questions are "fair" and easy to comprehend.
Easily what seems to be the best option. When i took his classes, he is extremely open to questions and actively promotes asking them often. He goes at a good enough pace to cover material but not too fast so proper notes can be taken. To wrap up, If he is available for a class you need, take him.
Class is graded only by five tests, the lowest of which (outside the last one) is dropped. He lectures at a frankly ideal pace and taking notes is organized and straightforward. Test material is literally what's in the notes. Lectures are recorded online, too, so missing class means you just gotta pull up a video and you're up to speed.
Kemege is a great professor! There are 5 tests throughout the quarter, and he drops the lowest grade at the end of the semester. All you have to do is study what he writes down; all the tests are based on the notes given in the lectures/online videos. Very easy classes.
Dr. Kemege is the best teacher at Tech by far. Everything on his tests are 100% covered (and emphasized) in his lectures. My only complaint is that he doesn't conduct research (I think he'd be amazing). Non-judgmental/ shows no political bias. EVERY PROFESSOR AT LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY SHOULD ASPIRE TO BE AT HIS LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM.
If you struggle keeping up with lectures and are not a science-y brain, good luck. I felt like many of the topics of questions on the tests were never discussed in class.
Dr.kemege is an AWESOME professor. I absolutely loved his class. This class is super easy since it is an introduction class but still, he makes what he's teaching soo incredibly clear. He's easy to talk to and welcomes questions no matter what. Your entire grade in the class is based solely on test scores. He does curves but they're not much. 10/10
Kemege met and exceeded my expectations of a freshman professor by a mile. He is super upbeat brings lots of energy into the classroom space. He's very easy to reach and is accessible in and outside of class. He lectures every day (except for test days), so be ready for that. His tests are very straightforward. Lectures are also posted online.
An amazing professor at the least. Dr. Kemege is a phenomenal lecturer, shows great interest in his studies, and ensures that his students learn the material. You only need to attend on exam days, as he has recorded lectures you can watch instead. Only issue is that the entire class is graded by 5 exams (one drop), but it is still fairly easy.
He's very passionate about biology and it reflects in his lectures. He has examples for almost every concept so it's easier to understand the material. The exams are pretty easy if you study adequately for them.
Clear and concise lectures that are available to everyone. If you put in the time, you will succeed without fail.
I really enjoyed Dr. Kemege's class. If you take the notes that he goes over in class and on the powerpoints you'll pass with a B or an A. His test questions are very similar to and based on his lectures so if you study the notes you'll do great. I took him a while ago, but I believe he drops your lowest test grade to help the students. 10/10
He's the goat man
AMAZING TEACHER!! Very clear and intelligent. He gives you absolutely everything you need to get an A+. He really knows a lot about his subject and is more than willing to help you. All of his lectures on online and are identical to the lectures in class. TAKE KEMEGE HE IS THE BEST!!!
YouTube lectures match directly to what he teaches in class and tells you exactly what to write down and study for test. Tests are exactly what's on notes, nothing more. Graded solely on tests, no homework.
There is no conceivable reason not to schedule yourself with Kemege unless you are physically unable to. He loves what he teaches and spares no expense making the material as accessible as possible. The Youtube lectures aren't just videos from 2020 that he reuses; he's rerecorded and kept them up to date just for your convenience. Exams are easy.
Kemege is a great professor!! He has video lectures that line up with the in-person lectures if you can't go to class, and he tells you exactly what notes to take. He even takes notes with you in class to make sure he's going at a slow enough pace, and his tests are always from the notes.
He made this class as easy as he could. He explains the material thoroughly and literally gives you the notes. The tests are EXACTLY what is on the notes, so make sure to write them down and pay attention. Also all of his lectures are on youtube. Hes literally the GOAT
Really good professor just make sure you study and memorize the notes he provides because if you don't you will most likely fail
Dr.Kemege is a very fun and engaging professor. He is very passionate about what he teaches and you can tell he puts a lot of care into his class. Only grades are exams, 5 exams throughout the class, and the lowest grade will be dropped. Final is not cumulative. Attendance is not mandatory and has all lectures online.
He's super nice but the tests are heavy. All tests are 60 questions and strictly on the lectures. You don't have to go at all he has all lectures on youtube. This class is good if you a person who studies. If you don't study much you're not going to do well at all. Trust Me.
Amazing teacher! Just know how to study because there is no homework, only exams. Not difficult at all though.
He makes the material supper accessible, all tests are based on the notes only, attendance not mandatory and all online material is up to date, he explains everything very clearly, office hours are really helpful, and is fair on tests as if one question is missed by many, he will give the points. Really enjoyed his class.
He is a great professor. His lectures are easy to understand and he has them posted on his channel. However, there are very few grades so it hits hard if you don't do good. But, he drops the lowest grade at the end of the quarter. You WILL need to study, my bad grade is 100% my fault.
Kemege is a great professor. His lectures are great, he explains concepts very well. Your grade is based off of 5 exams, he does 5 lectures for each. He has slideshows available on canvas as well as recorded lectures. I enjoyed this class a lot more than I thought I would, but you definitely need to know how to study and make time to do so.
One of the best teacher I've had at tech!
It took me awhile to learn how to study for his tests. There are 5 but he drops the lowest. I would tell people taking this class to look at the lesson quizzes on Canvas, take extra notes off of the Youtube lectures, and read the online textbook if you need more clarification. I thought the class was hard but my bio-minded friends did not.
Very clear, but A LOT of studying. You need to study word for word everything to ensure you make an A on the test. He is very organized, clear, and one of the kindest teachers I've ever met. I seriously wish he could teach all of my classes. He also drops your lowest test grade out of 5 exams, so that helps a lot.
Your grade in this class is 100% dependent on your average score out of 5 tests. If you go to class/ watch the lectures and STUDY!!!!! you will do just fine. One of my fave professors for sure.
Dr. Kemege is a great professor! His classes are not mandatory and his lectures are all on his youtube page. Very easy course none of the tests are extremely hard they are all centered around his lectures. He also has quizzes on canvas that some questions are on the tests.
his lectures are exactly like the tests, great guy.
He gives amazing lectures but long exams every other week. But his exams aren't cumulative so that good!
Super easy classes. You don't have to show up. Watch the videos and take notes. You'll be fine.
In my opinion, Dr. Kemege is not a good teacher; he doesn't use a textbook and just lectures with slides that you are almost expected to have memorized. When I went to him for help, he told me that I may want to think about dropping the class, no homework, so you really don't know what to study, and no reviews, 5 tests all in class, no final
I've taken both of his BISC 130&132 classes and honestly Kemege has been one of my favorite professors. No required attendance, lectures are on YouTube, the grade you get is what you put into the class- just study. 5 exams but he'll drop your lowest grade.
His lectures are LITERALLY his tests. Write down everything you can, study exactly what you write, and you'll be okay. He has a lot of students so it's important to email him early on if you need help so he can be more responsive throughout the quarter. Kemege is a very kind man who has a passion for what he does.
Just really good dude, reminds me of a chipmunk you just wanna squeeze him, He's so sweet!
I took Dr. Kemege for BISC 130 and 132 and I love him! Your only grades come from exams, so studying is super important, but he provides you with all the material in an easy to understand way.
All lectures are already planned and available on his youtube channel. Attendance is not mandatory, and his tests are just what you see in class. There are 5 tests, one each two weeks. They are quite long (60 questions) but very chill in general. He applies a curve in some cases. 100% recommended.
