Honestly, Kyle is the best math professor ever!!! Stats is a hard class, but he makes it super interesting and fun. He makes you work for your grade, always there to help and pretty funny. Highly recommend him and if he taught another math class, I would definitely take it with him!
nOT BAD
Math 165 is a very hard class if your looking for an easy math class do not take this class! That being said, Kyle is by far the best math teacher I ever had, hes fun and entertaining and is EXTREMELY helpful. He gives you one assignment a week and gives you a week to complete them. He is by far the best teacher to take HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!
Kyle is the best math teacher I've ever had. Period.
Kyle is awesome. So awesome that I decided that I needed to write this review so that other people can be aware of how great he is. The guy is funny and always there to help. No, his class is not a walk in the park. But if you show up and participate the material is not that hard to grasp and he is always available for extra help when you need it.
MTH 165 is not an easy class. If you skip too many classes then you will most likely not pass. That being said, Kyle is awesome! He's funny and loves what he is teaching. He is always there for extra help so take advantage of that. You listen to what he says, you will do fine in the class. Best teacher ever!! Period.
This teacher is amazing. By far the best math teacher I have had all my life. Not only does he make it clear, he gives out printed notes you need to fill in to make it amazingly easy to study! The course itself is challenging due to the nature of the material, however Kyle makes it easy and fun to learn!
Kyle is awesome! All of his lecture notes WITH solutions are posted onto blackboard, they are awesome just incase you miss class you can catch up easy. the class was 50 minutes long, so the exams we really had to know our stuff so we could finish in time. He is super helpful, always available outside of class to tutor you
Kyle is the best professor I have had at Harper College. He wants his students to do well and will work with you to ensure that you will be successful. I usually do not do well in math classes but he made math manageable and I actually understood concepts and felt confident before every test. Take his class and show up everyday.
Kyle is my favorite teacher at Harper for the three years Ive been here. I took statistics two years ago with another teacher and got a D in it. This was the first D Ive gotten in my life. Kyle made stats so straight forward. Do the optional homework and pay attention in class and you wont even have to study for the tests. Great teacher.
This guy is really straigh forward, do the work expect to do great, miss class and you better catch or you will fall behind. Hes really helpfull and will make time to help you out.
I was scared of taking Stats because everyone says its hard but he made it straight forward and it wasn't that bad at all. Take advantage of all the extra credit he gives in homeworks and his office hours. Attand class everyday and you should pass.
Probably the best math professor I've ever had! Extremely helpful, really funny, works through problems with you in class, and makes himself available to help out one-on-one. I honestly can say I looked forward to coming to class because it was that good!
Overall probably the best math teacher I have ever had. Kyle is helpful, easy to talk to, and enthusiastic. He wants his students to do well and his lectures aren't boring. Homework and the textbook is optional, but recommended. In the end Kyle is very enthusiastic and it makes students actually enjoy mathematics. Would definitely take him again
Very best math professor I have ever had in my life, considering outstanding level of his expertise and knowlege (and talent), enthusiasm in teaching the subject, and above all, caring attitudes for ALL of his students---I was always happy just looking at him sincerely answering questions to each student. Thank you for all of your efforts, Kyle!
I agree that Statistics is hard class, but this is first time I made a mistake by going with the reviews for this teacher. In class tests are extremely hard and not enough time to complete them. Don't believe that it will be the same material as the Review exam notes or what he says in the study guide. Don't believe me, find out for yourself.
Kyle Knee is a great mathematics professor! He gives his lectures to be understandable to every students. He has a great humor also with a full of energy since day one. He's always there for you when you need an assistance. I would honestly take his class again.
Kyle has made the transition into college courses very simple. He is passionate about Statistics and teaching. Statistics can be a difficult course, but Kyle reminds the students that he is here to help. Homework is kept at a minimum and there are 3 exams during the semester. If you show up and do the homework, you will pass the class easily.
Kyle is the best math professor I've had at Harper! He does everything possible to help you pass the class: office hours, suggested practice problems, study guides, review days, and extra credit. I never had a test that I took feeling unprepared. He gives very clear explanations. he brings a great energy to the class with his humor and enthusiasm.
Kyle is the best math teacher/professor I have ever had hands down. He's very helpful, explains everything so well, and he offers a lot of extra credit (even though some of it is really hard). His lectures go by so fast because he's funny and enthusiastic. Take him and you will not regret it!
Kyle is hands-down the best stats teacher you can find. This was my third semester at Harper and he is one of my two all-time favorite teachers. His class is enjoyable and he is very funny. He is an expert on the content and makes sure you have everything you need to succeed. I would take that class again for sure. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!
He's the BEST teacher for math 140, 201,202. I took him for 140 and 200, will take 201 with him as well in fall 16.
Best teacher i've ever had (and i had at least 40). He is funny hes lectures are clear and he is very passionate about math. His homeworks may hard but he is always there to help you. If you want to major in something connected with math i would definetiely advise to take him. If you count for easy A do not take him.
This guy makes math excited and keeps everything flowing nicely.
Do not let his looks and humorous demeanor fool you. Kyle is one of the best mathematics teacher at Harper. Homework was short but tough. The tests were challenging at times, but not too difficult. Everything was organized in such a great fashion that the semester rolls through smoothly.
This was my second semester taking Kyle as a math professor and I have nothing but good things to say about him. He is super funny, nice and his lectures are really clear. He's also always willing to help you literally on anything you have questions on. 4 exams(he prepares you well) & homework due every week. He is the greatest, take him!
he is good at teaching and discussing topics, we are always welcome in his office hours. he would love to help his students. Skills check and home works are tuff but quiz is easy if you study for it.
Kyle Knee is the best math professor I have ever had. He is very respected by all his students, and is very passionate about teaching math. Although I received a C in his class, I still learned so much. You should definitely go in during his office hours if you don't understand something, he is there to help. I would totally take his class again.
Kyle is by far my favorite professor at Harper. He truly cares about the success of his students and is always willing to give you additional help if needed. He makes printed notes, gives out worksheets and prepares you well for exams. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for Calc 2. Please take him, you will end up loving math, I promise!
Kyle is the best!!! I would love to take his class again but he is not teaching Calc3. He is really approachable, so if you need anything make sure to ask him. There is extra credit in the class so if you need to make up for lost point that's your chance. He is a great lecturer so please don't miss the class.
I love this guy. I came into Calc II with a year and a half of rust since Calc I. He makes you work for it, but he took special emphasis to review the old material to prepare us for the new stuff. I didn't think I could understand Calculus, but this guy makes lectures exciting and fun. Would definitely recommend!
I took statistics last semester with Mariano and had to drop the class because Mariano made no sense what so ever. Thank god for Kyle though because he is the BEST. He made stats so much easier to understand. He is undoubtedly #1! Because of him, I have earned another A on my transcript!
If you're looking for a easy A, he's not the one but he breaks the lectures down real simple! Getting the Exams done in 50min is challenging but you have to practice the material. Attempt to Do the extra credit as much as possible. It will help you out in the long run! Pass at least one exam and you can get a C or even a B if you pass finals!
No Textbook, plenty of extra credits, curves exam if deemed necessary, class attendance is not required, He is a enthusiastic, motivated, and caring teacher. He is the best instructor for Calc II, possibly Calc I in the upcoming years.
Kyle Knee is awesome! You can tell he is very passionate about mathematics and teaching it. His upbeat energy really helps the lectures go by quickly and is very good into going into deep detail about the course content. As long as you keep up with his assignments, the class isn't really that tough. One of my favorite classes ive taken so far here!
Amazing professor!!!!
Kyle is definitely one of my favorite teachers ever that I've had in my life!! Kyle made this class SO enjoyable. The way he teaches is amazing and he's a pretty funny guy which makes it even better. I actually looked forward to going to his class every day. He's very good at explaining things and he's just such a great person in general!!!!
Best calc teacher I've ever had. Homework and quizzes were difficult, but he prepared us for them. I left his class with an amazing understanding of the concepts we covered every day. His lectures were exciting and energetic and made an 8 am calc class fun
Of all the math classes i've ever taken, Kyle's the best. His lecture notes are what appear on the test. The test's are pretty easy. Only 1 HW per week and only 4 to 8 questions. Just a good guy!
This is the greatest math professor at Harper College, his enthusiasm and energy he brings to the class really makes you want to attend. Due to MTH225 being difficult, if you skip class you wont pass but he does not take attendance for a grade. This man writes all of his own stuff and boy is it all amazingly helpful! 10/10 professor no doubt!
This teacher is fair and cares about his students , he made time for help if you asked. Hard but he is not going to pass you if you dont know the materials like some teachers. I didnt do great but also didnt put the effort in so I cant blame him.
His class was pretty difficult. Didn't really like him as a person but he's a decent professor. The homework were super difficult and his tests are hard. Probably won't be taking him again
Kyle Knee is a great person. I e-mailed him once at 3 am in the morning and he replied by 6 am as soon as he awoke and answered my question!! That is how dedicated Kyle is to teaching and making sure his students understand the material. The class can be tough at times but if you work hard, you will make the grade. I took him for Business Stats.
Math snob. Speaks too fast
Went for help. Told me youre not made for Calc 2 and should plan in changing majors
Kyle is easily one of the best professors I've ever had! His lectures are clear and to the point, and he wants his students to actually understand the material, so you have to show/explain how you got your answer. There's only one homework assignment each week with 6-8 questions. If you pay attention in class and do the homework, you'll do well.
Kyle is an amazing professor. Very well respected by his students and dedicated to his job. I unfortunately had to W from his class because his class was too difficult for me. I retook with Dr.C and passed with a B. If you suck at math like me and you only need calc 1 take Dr.C if you need higher kyle is your best bet.
After 3 years at Harper and over 60+ credits I've taken, Kyle was by far the best professor I have ever had. I took MTH 165 and MTH 140 with him and did very well in both. He made math exciting and was always available when I needed help. Anyone who says anything negative about him just wasn't willing to put in the work. He is amazing, TAKE HIM!!
I took Kyle twice for calculus during abnormal semester and calc 2 over the summer. He is a great teacher and really loves the subject. He was always willing to sit with me and answer questions to make sure I understood the material, he has lots of office hours and is super dedicated to his job. Would definently take him again.
On a snow day. He made a video of the stuff we were supposed to learn in class and posted on blackboard. He never went over that stuff in class again. Also he used very bad camera couldnt understand half of it
Kyle was awesome, easily the best math prof I'd had. I'm awful at math and I easily received an A in the class, not because the class was easy, just because Kyle is such a great teacher. Really cares about his students and their successes. Definitely would recommend taking a class with him any day.
Kyle is by far the best professor i have ever had. You can tell that he is incredibly passionate about teaching and math in general. Homework assignments are challenging, but tests are easier than the homework assignments. No book is required for his class because he uses a FREE book! He's eager to help you succeed.
Kyle is the best teacher I've ever had. He's passionate about math, so his lectures are energetic, interesting, and easy to follow. He also holds office hours almost every weekday, where you can ask him about anything. The homeworks can be difficult, but they prepare you well for the tests, which are actually quite easy. I learned a lot and had fun
kyle is the best professor I have ever had. He is very energetic in class, and explains every detail about a problem. He is always willing to help and he only give like 7 to 8 problems a week for homework. His tests are pretty fair.
Kyle is amazing!!!!!!!Easily the best math professor I've ever had (also he is just such a nice person.) you rock, kyle!
Kyle is the best math teacher I've ever had! He really cares about what he teaches and thats a good thing because he goes into detail, takes his time explaining if you have questions, and wants you to learn the material. The class definitely needs a lot of effort in order to pass the class, some chapters can be easier than others.
Kyle is a good guy, and wants you to do well in his class. The homework is very, very difficult for no reason. It's hard to learn fundamentals when you make it very hard. Also, he makes the final, and says that it will be on anything that was covered. He's a good guy, but I also kind of hate him for making things difficult.
Love this professor. Kyle is so funny and loves what he does. He made a tough, boring class fun and interesting. It is a pretty hard class but he cares about students and has plenty of after class time to help. You need to show up and do the work he tells you to or you will have a rough time. Definitely take him!!!
Kyle is an amazing professor! He works really hard to give you all the resources to succeed. I was really nervous for stats and he broke it down from day one. I didn't really need much extra help but I know a lot of people went to see him everyday after class and he went out of his way to help. He's really funny and super understanding. Take Kyle!!
Kyle is a great professor. He is very accessible outside of class, which is really nice. The class is hard, but if you work hard, and go to his office hours or the tutoring center, then you should be fine. He is also really funny, which makes class really interesting. If you study for the tests, you should be fine on those, so do the study guides.
Professor Knee (or Master Kyle as he likes to be called) is an amazing professor. His lectures are passionate, his explanations make sense, and all work to create a cohesive understanding about the topic. His assignments are regular and thought provoking, the opposite of busy work. They feel like a puzzle rather than a grade. Take him for Calc!
Only reason why I passed business stats was because of him. Was debating on taking it online but the teacher sucked so I took it in person with Kyle. Best decision I made. ALWAYS wants to help and encourages questions. Very clear at explaining and teaching the material. Emails back very quickly and really cares about his students. Highly recommend!
Professor Knee is incredible, his teaching style is perfect, nobody ever had questions because he explains everything super well. His class is basically like those youtube videos you watch where you understand the content the first time. Makes more complex statistical concepts seem easy. 10/10 would take again.
Kyle Knee is a hidden gem in a flourishing community college located in southern palatine, and we must protect him at all costs. He cares so much about his students, wants them to be successful, and promotes a deeper understanding of complicated concepts and material beyond just memorizing ideas for exams. Kyle Knee for President 2020. Vote!!
Kyle is the best professor I've ever had! Calc 3 isn't easy, but Kyle deeply cares about his students and will go above and beyond to help you w/o judgment. He puts his heart and soul into each lecture and shows his students that math isn't just a list of formulas, but a fascinating web of ideas with its own language. Take him, you won't regret it!
Best math professor in Harper college. I wish he teaches Calc 2 (not for honors). He is hilarious . And so helpful with notes and understanding the material thought. He is accessible in his office. I couldnt take his class because it was full but after talking with him in person he overridden me into the class. ***TAKE HIM****HES THE BEST***
Kyle has been the best math teacher I've had so far. He really makes sure you understand everything by breaking down big scary math vocab into easy concepts. He genuinely wants each one of his students to succeed and it shows in the way he teaches. Also, he doesn't hold anything against you if you miss class, he will meet with you if you ask.
Avoid. Kyle think everyone was made to become a statistician, which is not the case. He doesnt explain anything, basically just reads off the pages that we have in front of us and when asked why are we supposed to do a certain thing in a certain way, he simply says because thats how you do it. Grading is appalling, takes a lot of points off.
Pt1: Kyle gave me a love for calculus I didn't know I could have. He goes TO THE ROOT of ideas. He knows that there is a lot that a college student has to do, and he challenges you to exceed those expectations in his class. It is as much a math class as it is a life lesson to go above and beyond the quality that is expected. And it feels great!
Pt2: I deserved the B. I only rose to the standard that Kyle was pushing me to in spurts, instead of in a concerted effort. Kyle understands that inspiration is all about gently and naturally showing people the right way to do things, so that when they see it, they will naturally be drawn to it and make it their own. I thank him for that lesson.
Pt3: Two levels to Kyle. 1: He is a super enthusiastic, intelligent, and hardworking teacher who gives his time to everyone. 2: He really wants that beautiful student-mentor relationship where you can discuss amazing ideas with confidence and reciprocation, as he is sharing a part of himself in those moments. Students! please merit those discussion
While Kyle has a great personality, he is one of the worst teachers I've ever taken. He is teaching in a pedantic manner. His exams are really hard(x3). He does not allow students to demonstrate that they have got a grasp on the content. Do not expect the homework to boost your grade. I have attended every lecture yet have not felt confident at all
Kyle is a great professor, bad reviews don't do him justice. This class is not for lazy people like myself, take it if you really want to understand calculus. Hopefully I'll be able to get away with a P this semester. I'd still take Kyle over any other professor because even with the bad grade I feel like I understand more now.
Quizzes and test were nothing like the lectures, had to drop class. He takes a ridiculous amount of points off no partial credit either. Do not take!!
First and foremost, his lectures are really worth attending. He not only does a good job of explaining what but also why something is the way it is. If you want to do well in the class be prepared to practice from the book, show detailed work, and ask him questions during his office hours.
Hands down the best Math teacher I have ever had. He explains things so clearly and really knows how to simplify the most complicated of theories. I would HIGHLY recommend taking a course with him if you can.
He's a though grader guys. He grades HW like if they were exams, and the exams are worse. His class is so stressful. If you don't like math but have to take this course, I really do wish you luck. Other than the bad things about calc 1, he is very caring. He will really take time to help u understand a concept. His HW will not help ur grade at all.
He grades HW harshly and will take points off for anything. His lectures can be anywhere from 2 to 4 hours long and he tends to overcomplicate concepts. Tests are tough and his study guide doesn't help at all. He also doesn't give his students enough practice which is the most important part of calculus.
Professor knee is an amazing professor. Whenever you need help he is always there right away whether it be email or blackboard collaborate or anything else. There are 12 homework assignments, 4 exams and a final. The homework is graded on accuracy but the most questions any homework has is 4-5. This class was super easy. Its easier than buis calc.
Kyle is the best math professor I have had so far. He does his best to converse with the class, whether people respond is up to the class but everyone warmed up as the class progressed. The course was definitely a little challenging, but it is nothing too difficult and is very manageable. I would recommend Kyle to anyone interested in learning math
Amazing teacher. I was nowhere near ready to take this course, which was the reason for my dropping of the class. Also, I took it during a summer semester so it was a lot of work to do paired with a job. If you can take any class with him, I would go for it. He is a really good teacher and almost got me to finish the class.
Business statistics isn't easy, but Kyle will help. You do lots of ungraded work (taking notes during his video lectures, practicing other notes), but he wants you to understand the material. He always replied to my emails with detailed explanations. 12 homeworks, 4 exams, 1 final. Exams are timed and tricky. They form most of the grade so study.
Hes decent. Be aware that taking math online with this prof is not a good idea. For whatever reason I just could not work with him. The grading is petty, points off homework for minimal things and it is very frustrating. He's a nice guy, responds to emails but the one thing that throws me off is the grading. In summary I strongly dislike stats.
I started doubting my own existence when we got to probabilities BUT it got much easier. Prof. Knee replies to emails with the speed of light. Weekly homework and you have a whole week to finish it. His videos are easy to understand. Provides many worksheets for you to practice. Accessible via Blackboard Collaborate 3x a week, no appt.
Professor Knee is a fantastic math instructor with a mastery of teaching Calculus concepts. Professor Knee provides elaborate lectures and grades fairly. Professor Knee is passionate about teaching and strives for his students to succeed.
Take this class if you wanna try your hardest and still barely get a C, Kyle seemed to be ok at first, but when I received feedback on my weekly quizzes they were graded extremely hard. Summer classes will have 2 quizzes a week on specific days that you have to complete on that day and can't work on the next until the day of exams every other week.
I took his course as a summer course. With that being said, a lot of daily work expected. Loads of quizzes and a couple tests and a final. He was very friendly and hosted office hours frequently. Didn't ever require any extra help from him, but was a lot of work to do. Overall, not hard to pass for transfer credit. Would recommend for stats!
The key to passing this class is watching ALL of the videos posted, and doing the corresponding worksheets. If you stick to that, the quizzes and exams won't be so bad. The teacher is very responsive and willing to help if you're struggling with a concept.
Kyle is a great professor and his lectures are very clear. He has one homework assignment due every week. Homework is 20 points each assignment. The exams are kinda difficult but usually pretty fair, he grades quickly and gives partial credit. Put in the work and you will do well. He is accessible outside of class and responds quickly to emails.
I recommend taking another teacher like William Clark for courses like Calculus. Nothing amazing, nothing awful. Get ready to put in the work if you take him.
Kyle Knee is a great teacher and from his lectures you can tell that he is incredibly passionate about math. However, I found his homework and test to be extremely hard and frustrating. I took his online class and I almost never had enough time to finish the tests. If you enjoy math, he is your guy, if you don't, look somewhere else.
Kyle is a great professor and really cares about his students. I felt that I had all the tools in order to succeed in this class. There is homework every week, but it's only going to help you do well on the exams. Make sure to practice the worksheets, homework, lecture problems, and practice exams to study. Repetition is key in this class!
His lectures are old and slow but he does have office hours. There is no rounding and no weight to the grades. Class is out of 1000 points
Nothing bad to say about Kyle. Took his blended Honors course. The in-person class meetings consisted of just doing worksheets. Recorded lectures were clear and actually explained the concepts rather than just listed rules to memorize. Professor Knee is funny, engaging, and easily reachable outside of class in office hours and by email.
He's a nice guy, but lectures online were confusing and lengthy. Homework is also very hard, and wasn't very helpful during office hours. It was almost impossible to pass and he's a harsh grader. he holds meetings with a random student to look over their work and explain it to him to make sure there's no cheating after every test.
Prof. Knee goes the extra mile to make an already difficult course harder. You will need to recall ALL you knew from calc 1 from, mixing the new difficult concepts with ambiguous elements from calc 1 that you won't know how to do until its already graded. Even if you get the right answer, if it's not with his one approach out of many, its wrong.
Best math teacher I've had so far (honors blended section). Emphasizes understanding concepts (not rote memorization). Excellent video lectures, very passionate about calculus, & cares deeply about students. Loves to teach + does it well. Nobody could prepare me for higher-level math better than Kyle Knee; will enrich your education at Harper.
Kyle Knee was a great professor. Felt he taught the subject well, going above and beyond what you need for the exams. Managed to give difficult questions during class to help you understand complexity while giving fair questions on his exams. Lots of extra credit opportunities along with office hours for any questions you have. Very fun lectures.
Pretty chill guy but his lecture videos and the hw/tests he hands out are so far apart when you compare them in complexity. Lecture videos are also not that helpful. Would find better help elsewhere that would explain the material in easier ways.
Professor Kyle has a knack for breaking down complex math concepts. While his tests can be challenging, his lectures are engaging and the material is manageable with consistent effort. unstuck AI proved invaluable for my study prep.
He tries to explain the concept to you, but many a times he does not solve the problems fully, he leaves them for you to solve. He is a tough grader. He is passionate about Math, but he needs to understand that we are just students, not experienced teachers. For a 100% work, you will get only 70%. Exams have too many problems with very little time.
Available via email and online calls almost always, and gives a lot of help on homework and extra credit. He is a very nice and caring person that is very easy to talk to. The homework however is sometimes widely more difficult than the practice.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. Professor Knee's lectures are extremely engaging and interesting, if you love math you will love his class. His explanations and examples in lecture are very helpful, he also gives a lot of practice material whether it be notes, guides, or worksheets. He is also easy to reach outside of class and offers office hours.
His lectures are mainly theoretical with not enough practical examples of how to work out problems. He is a very tough grader, taking off points even if you get the correct answer, saying that even though your method worked in this case, it might not work for every problem. He will also not round up your grade.
Kyle is awesome I wish I could have him as a professor for all of my classes. He explains the material very well and is very willing and available to help students outside of class. He grades quickly and never took more than 24 hours to post scores. His class material is extremely organized and he provides lots of practice problems and examples.
He is a very kind and understanding professor. He is also quite energetic even during night classes. His homework is a bit tough though, you may have to go in for help though. His policy of replacing the worst exam score with the final exam score was a lifesaver. Just pay attention, do the work, ask him questions, and study well and you'll do fine.
Clearly passionate about teaching (good lectures) and a fairly balanced approach in terms of grading & difficulty. Still a large workload, though. Notes: Do more than HW, supplement with OH & worksheets. Lectures sparsely available online. Final test replacement for worst scoring test 11/13 HWs scored Textbook optional, rarely referenced in class
