Great writing instructor. Totally changed my major after her class.

LOVE Kyra's classes. She's very straightforward and outlines her expectations from the very first day. Love the discussions.

Prof. Hudson is a great instructor. She is always willing to help her students to improve themselves. She is very fair, and grades according to application of topics addressed and effort put in. Not an easy "A" class unless you are willing to put forth a little effort. I will take her again for 2220.

Kyra Hudson may not be the most organized teacher but she is very passionate about what she teaches. She knows her stuff and is a fairly easy grader. Do the work and you will pass the class. She does allow late work which is refreshing. Class discussions are alot of fun and very informative.

Kyra is my favorite teacher on campus. Her classes are never dull and she is very interesting. Make sure you attend all classes and participate. Assignments are fun to do and she is willing to help at all cost. I would take any class she offers!

Very fun discussions, works with you to make sure that you are up to speed on all that is due. Was willing to accept late work, but did dock points if it was too late. Most of the stories read were enjoyable. Pepare to write, write, write. Every story had a paper with it. I enjoyed this class, but wish we could have been quizzed, but we wrote!!!

If you want to take English I would recommend professor Hudson. She is so much fun to talk to and is not a very hard grader. The people who don't like her and the people who don't do well are the ones that don't do the work and don't come to class. It is evil to take it out on her when she is such a good teacher. I have taken three of her course

She is very passionate about what she teaches, however she is oftentimes scatterbrained. She lost some papers, but refused to admit it. Then she was so embarrassed when she found them in her office. There is a ton of reading and discussion. Her quizzes are sometimes worded weird. she is very undecisive when it comes to her criteria for papers

Professor Hudson was so great!! The class consisted of two in-class essays,3-4 out of class essays,journals, and discussions. I enjoyed her class and I got an A on every single assignment. Show up to class and you will do well. I would email her to verify the text book before the semester because the one it said online at the bookstore was wrong.

Biggest thing for her is that you have to show up for class. We did about three essays (3-4 pages) and our final was about 1-2 pages long. Not a bad teacher. If I had shown up to class more often, I probably would've gotten a better grade.

Hudson has a fear of being politically offensive while teaching, and it hampers our ability to put the pieces of literature into context. She is a pleasant professor, and a fair grader, but her fear of offending someone is her downfall. Take this class if you would like to hear the same old tired interpretations of classic literature.

Very nice professor! For this class, you definitely have to read. There's a little bit of writing, but she is a very generous grader. Her lectures get a bit off topic, but I would definitely recommend her.

Awesome teacher! She really got me interested in english, a subject I hated before this class. Class discussions are never boring. She sometimes rambles, but that is what makes the discussions funny and interesting. Easy class, only a few writing assignments, and she is a good and fair grader. Recommend her to all.

Honestly, if you go to class and do your work, there is no way you can't do well in her class. I recommend her.

loved her!!! she is very nice. she does expect you to go to class but honestly if you attend class there is no reason you should not pass. you have 4 4-5 page essays and a few 1 pg journals as well she is very strict on grammar and punctuation but she will help you if you ask. i would recommend her. loved the class!

Kyra is fantastic, I highly recommend her to anyone. Attendance was mandatory which greatly helped me succeed. She's pretty forgiving on grading and is awesome all around, by far the best professor I've had in the start of my college career.

It was great having a professor who thinks outside of the box. The class was not what I expected--I was dreading 2010--but it has ended up my favorite class. Each class period is different. Attendance is important, but the work load is not too bad. I would recommend the class to all my friends.

This class was absolutely amazing. We had three papers total, two 4-5 page papers and 1 poetry "Chapbook" which was just an analysis on 4 poems. She is very helpful if you have any questions and very willing to work with you. We didn't have any tests (not even a final), and the class was really fun.

She has a different personality, but I grew to love her class. If you don't read anything you will NOT pass. Keep up with the reader responses and you will pass no problem! She has no due dates and some hate that but I loved it just for those times when time got away from me. Read, Write, and Submit! She is willing to help always.

She is probably one of the best professors I have had at Weber State! She cares for her students and encourages you to improve in each of the 6 essays we write. Honestly, I would recommend anyone to take her class. (Especially incoming Freshmen) Our discussions were always open minded! The experience you get depends on you. (Easy class)

Kyra was awesome! Her lectures are kind of dull, but she really cares about her students. She has a plan for class, but sometimes derives from it if the students ask. Go to class, do the assignments, and you'll pass.

Professor Hudson is one of the best professors at WSU. She is very helpful and gives students good feedback. She is also funny. There may be a good quantity of assignments, but if a student desires to have a strong foundation of a college writing, those assignments are very helpful in improving his/her writing skill.

I thought the class was great. I enjoyed class discussions, and the writing assignments were not bad. I would recommend this class.

I took Professor Hudson's 1010 class and I loved it. She is one of the best teachers I have had at Weber State. I hope I can take another class from her.

We only had 4 essays and as long as you place cognitive thought into them you're likely to get at least an 80%. Accepts late work with no deduction for a week. There's some reading but I wouldn't say the books are required, you could definitely share with a classmate. If you're a Trump supporter she might get you mad on occasion

I loved this course. It's incredibly easy as long as you keep up on the reading and come to class with some things to say. She does definitely enforce participation and she grades heavily on attendance. The discussion aspect greatly increased my understanding of the literature.

Professor Hudson was great. She is always willing to work with you in order to succeed. Took this class as a hybrid, so the class was fast paced. She's funny when it comes to politics. Get ready to hit the ground running if you take the Hybrid class.

I really liked Professor Hudson! She has a love for fiction so it was fun to have her teach this. She knows her stuff. She can get off-topic but it was interesting for me to hear what she had to say. Her syllabus calendar was a bit off but when it was brought to her attention, she took our comments into consideration and made changes.

i don't know what 2010 class they are talking about. I'm working on a 9page paper right now. If you don't like enviromental issues you probably should'nt take her class.

Professor Hudson takes the time to give meaningful feedback on our papers and work. She knows our names and actively engages even the most shy students, which means a lot. I thoroughly enjoy our classroom discussions and look forward to her class. I would highly recommend her for ENGL 1010, and I hope to be in her 2010 class.

I suffered from medical issues which caused me to miss classes and Kyra was the most understanding of all my professors, she still expects work to be turned in, but she seemed to really care. She sometimes uses useful worksheet exercises, but usually there are lectures about the readings.

This class is amazing. We read so many great stories and had great class discussions. It's one of the best classes I've had at Weber.

Professor Hudson's class was very enjoyable, there wasn't a large work load and assignments were very manageable with clear expectations and plenty of time to complete them. She also lets you redo assignments and doesn't really care if an assignment is late.

Online class with 6 papers dues, a few peer reviews and gives you credit for fixing any errors. Great Prof with clear instructions and grading. I would take a class from her again.

Kyra is a good professor. I took the hybrid class but it ended up being mostly in class. There are a few papers but she gives 5 points back for corrections made on the paper after she gives feedback. She's very disorganized and loses track of what she's doing a lot, but it made the class more fun. She was always coming up with new ideas. Really fun

I loved this teacher, her class was always one of my favorites to attend because the discussions we had were so interesting. We read from a book of short stories and 2 novels, all of which I thought I wouldn't like but ended up enjoying by the end! There is some group work but it isn't bad! Great feedback on papers, there were 3 in total.

You read a short story for every class period and discuss it in class. We read two novels at the end of the semester and wrote three papers. Participation is required and be prepared to be called on a lot. She gets to know every students name and is very easy to reach outside of class. I enjoyed this class and would recommend it.

She's a good teacher and genuinely cares for her students. Class discussions were interesting and overall productive, although she tended to be highly tangential, which could be both good (in the sense of exploring ideas) and bad (in the sense of being irrelevant). Easy to work with. The quantity of weekly/daily reading was excessive, I thought.

I loved having Kyra as a professor. I took the hybrid class and it is more intense. She is kind of ditsy but it makes the class fun. She cares for her students. Open communication and hard work and this class will be a breeze

Hybrid class 1st block class. She sometimes gets distracted &amp; is all over the place during lectures. It's entertaining &amp; sometimes wastes time. If you miss class, expect to fail. Participation matters, so read the materials and get read to have a discussion in class. She will answer any questions, alter essay lengths, etc. (helpful) Writing lab.

Kyra is one of the best teachers I have had in college. Going into this class I was not a big fan of English class, but I learned to love it and had a great experience. I would recommend talking any class from this professor.

Introduction to Fiction is one of the best classes I have ever taken. She gives good feedback and the reading is not too bad. We read great stories, weekly discussions, and three easy papers. I recommend this class and prof.

I took the online summer Literature course and enjoyed it a lot. The readings were short and entertaining. It was about 3 readings per week and a short discussion. The entire class was well planned and easy to follow. Prof. Hudson is sweet and understanding with personal issues. She will give you extensions if you need really them. 100000/10

I really liked this class. The readings are interesting and the discussions relate to the stories. Three shorter papers, readings, and discussions make up the main part of the course. Feedback was on time.

Professor Hudson was very understanding and willing to help out when I had problems with the course material. The semester got off to a rough start for me and I appreciated that we were able to come to an understanding when she was willing to sit down with me and go over the materials that I was struggling with.

Professor Hudson was very understanding under the pandemic circumstances which really stood out to me. You can tell she cares about her students and class subject. I would take from her again. I learned a lot from the material she had for the class.

The two ratings below must be from a student who didn't turn in their work. Hudson goes out of her way to accommodate students. She allows late work and she is a great teacher who cares about her students.

This is a good class. What's the point of being so hateful about a course that barely started? What's boring about reading Faulkner, Poe, Hemingway, and Joyce Carol Oates? It must be a dumb student to say those things.

Professor Hudson is very good at her subject. She is able to make it fun, but at the same time is able to get down to business when needed. This class had a lot of homework, but it was so worth it. If you get the chance to take this class with P. Hudson, do it!

This class is pretty assignment-heavy, but you'll get a good grade as long as you complete the assignments. Professor Hudson is great at having engaging discussions with the class, I liked her!

Dr. Hudson's English 1010 requires some effort. You can't just log on once a week and submit the work. There is group work and different assignments. It's so you learn something. I learned a lot.

I had Professor Hudson for a literature class, and when I read some of the ratings, they are a joke. I never had a professor that is more patient and willing to help students succeed. There is a one week grace period for all the assignments. She lets you redo the work if you don't get the grade you want. She gives great feedback--whiners stop!!

She requires a lot drafts and revisions of your papers, but it's for a good reason. She wants us to become better writers. I've learned so much already.

I took her ENGL 1010 as a block class, and it was surprisingly easy. I was a little hesitant to take a block class, but it was fairly laid back. There was a decent amount of work to do, but all the work was pretty straightforward and easy. As long as you do the work, it's an easy class. She's very forgiving with due dates and late assignments, too.

Ms. Hudson is a generous grader and allows late work. She is great at responding to emails and questions. This is the second course I've taken from her. I recommend the class.

It was challenging, but Professor Hudson understands this and simplifies the class down to core principles that will help you succeed.

Outstanding professor! She creates a very liberating and safe environment. Her discussions and readings are meaningful and engaging and she holds space for everyone in class to share. She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed not only in her class but in life. She even made me consider changing my major to English.

Prof Hudson has high expectations. However, she gives clear instructions, is prompt when responding to emails, and ensures you have all the resources needed to get a high grade. I highly recommend her courses.

I enjoyed taking this course however, I didn't realize it was a half-semester class before the first day. If you are signing up for this course, just know it is very fast-paced and there will always be work for you to do. She has clear grading criteria and as long as you attend class and keep up with the work, you will be fine taking this course.

Prof Hudson has high expectations, but provides clear guidance. While her course structure can be challenging, she's responsive and equips students with the resources to succeed. Paired with tools like Unstuck ai, her class can be a rewarding experience.

I loved this class! I took it first semester of my freshman year, and it was a great intro to Weber. Prof. Hudson creates an environment where people actually want to comment and ask questions, which makes class so much more interesting. 10/10 would take again!

I took the half semester class, so it was very fast paced and there was a lot of assignments. It was a very hard class to understand the material. Your classmates will be your best friends. Peer review and writing center required. I did however like the SA topics she picked and found them easy to write about. Late work is excepted.
