His class was pretty easy. He gives you study guides that are very close to the material on exams. His quizz questions are put on the exam as well. He is very clear when he teaches. I will take his class any time.

This class called for a lot of reading, a quiz was given approximatley once a week to ensure the students were reading. However, the professor was very interesting and very clear in the explaining the theories in order for the entire class to understand. His enthusiam to teach his students only reinforced my effort to learn.

I took Prof. Barr's class two years ago. Prof. Barr is an excellent lecturer. I was a math teacher for many years. He inspired me to become a better lecturer in the classes I teach.

Love the way he teaches makes me want to change my major if he was to teach the rest of major classes! I hate missing the class just because it is so interesting. You learn even if you dont read the book. The book is not need only if you need that extra reminder. Take notes always help full gives full explination on everything.

I loved Dr. Barr. He was very enthusiastic and kept every day interesting. I ended up with an "A" in his class and my fiancé did as well. Buy don't think it's an easy class, because it is not. But if you do all your journals, participate in class and in groups and do well on test you will be fine.

Prof. Barr is funny. Made a Friday night class interesting. Takes attendance every meeting but doesn't mind you coming late. Don't be fooled however, read the book, listen to his lecture and take good notes because this is not an easy class. Sometimes all the disorders seem the same, pay attention. I got a B.

This a professor who clearly knows what he is teaching. He is able to draw in students without the use of external media sources (i.e., powerpoints); which is virtually unheard of in this day and age. Clear, concise, and uses a multitude of helpful analogies. Prof. of the decade award goes to this man, seriously!

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Had field experience in psychology and real life stories to help make learning easier. He's hilarious and extremely intelligent. Tests aren't super easy, but if you study and always show up to class, shouldn't have a problem. I would take him again, in a heartbeat.

You must be in class, and do not take your electronic devices out. He explains everything clearly and gives many examples. He also provides study guides for tests, so tests are pretty easy. He definitely is a professor who has swagger! His lectures are fun and engaging, and aren't in the least bit boring. I was a worried going into his class because I had never taken him before, but he definitely exceeded my expectations and then some. If you do your work and put effort into your paper, there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A.

Professor Barr is amazing!!!! I loved all the classes I had with him. Took Psy 490 and Psy 411 & 412 with him in the same semester, which was super hard to take together but manageable. He's funny, sarcastic and very handsome. Got a B in Psy 490, a B in Psy 411 and an A in Psy 412. You have to work for your grade. "Work harder, not smarter"

Barr is the best. I try to take his classes when ever I can. His lectures are very clear and he has vast amount of knowledge about what ever topic he is talking about. A good teacher is able to put what they know into terms that are easily digested by students and this is what Barr does. His test aren't that hard if you study. Best professor.

Took professor Barr my first semester at Dominguez Hills and he was awesome! Keeps lectures fun and funny. Tests were fair and were based both off lectures and off the book so if you study both you should easily get an A.

He is a great professor. Lectures do get boring at times, but he tries to make them interesting and is very funny! there are 3 Exams and maybe 2 quizzes. If you study your vocabulary terms its an easy A in the class. Attendance is mandatory, but if you do miss it's easy ti catch up because he follows along with the book.

My favorite class of the semester! His lectures & does not use any sort of powerpoint, but I think that made the class that much easier to focus. I bought the book, didn't read it, just used it in class, but as long as you take good notes then you should be solid. He is by far my favorite professor & I will for sure take another one of his classes.

He was an amazing professor. I did not buy the book and would start skipping class at the end and payed the price. If i would've studied more and actually had the book, i might've passed with at least a C. He is very good at connecting the topics with real life situations, and adds humor to it. He gives no homework but its your choice to study or not notes was enough for me. I do recommend getting the book because youll use it in class for definitions.

Professor Barr truly enjoys teaching. He really cares about his students and tries his hardest to answer everybody's question. If you want an "A", just do the assigned reading before class and take notes during lecture. Try not to be absent all the time as participation is part of your grade.

Class consisted of 4 exams and some quizzes, which are not tough if you just take notes and read the textbook. 3 hours of research studies and provided more than enough extra credit opportunities!

Hes an easy Professor. I passed with a C but because he only grades you on 4 exams each worth 100 points and attendance worth 100 pnts as well. Total being 500 points. Make sure you take note of his lectures when he say it be on the test make sure to write it down. If you do the reading better for you to have a better understanding. Just study!!

A whole different experience as he helps you feel like you can do anything and he interacts with you to help you learn more. He works in many ways to help you succeed and in my opinion Ive learned more in his class than ever before.

Took this class in Fall 2020. Even if the lectures were online during this semester, Professor Barr still managed to make the lectures very interesting. There were 4 major tests, pretty easy if you read the book and attend the lectures. Would recommend his class to anyone.

What a lovely professor! I had this class before the COVID-19 situation, so I got to experience the lovely nature of his lectures. Not only is he dedicated to the subject he teaches, he also connects his personal life with what he teaches. He is wonderful. He does give tests, but as long as you study, you will pass!

This is the best class I have ever taken. He covers everything that's going to be on the exams very well. You do have to read but its simple. He is very nice, caring, positive and encouraging. There's no homework but you have to do well on the exams and they are very easy. This is a very easy and super fun class I 100% recommend.

Funny, nice, never got mad at any of the students or frustrated. The lectures are cool it makes you want to come early to class. Most answers are online as well but still take notes.

Where do I start. Amazing professor on the subject, amazing lectures, amazing on class participation. (Side note, to earn points plz participate it makes every lecture every class you come in making it fun). Read your textbooks, study for the chapters assigned and ask questions. Asking questions and Professor Barr would gladly take your question.

4 big exams, USE and PRACTICE the study guides and his slides. No open notes during the test. He has a lot of fun stories and real life examples to make the topics understandable. There's an online textbook you can get for free. It's ver 12 but he said it was ok to use.

This professor lectures are amazing they are not boring at all. Test are not hard if you pay attention and learn the study guide notes he provides for you. The notes he provides for you are literally the material he uses to test you. Super chill professor and he offers extra credit. There is an attendance sheet so go to class!

Prof. Barr has to be one of the best professors I've had so far as he made lectures very interesting. There were a couple of quizzes but as long as you pay attention to the lectures you are guaranteed to pass.

Psych 101 was super easy and Im glad I took the class with Professor Barr. His lectures are always interesting and he tells a lot of stories from his own life that relate to the topics at hand. He gave extra credit as well where you could follow him on Twitter lol. There was no homework either! I would definitely take this class.

An AMAZING professor! I 1000% recommend you take his class! His lectures are thorough and easy to follow. He told the funniest stories that helped you understand the topics. There aren't any assignments so you will be graded solely on exams. Exams were fairly easy if you wrote down a lot of notes and paid attention. Exam scores were also curved!

I wish I could take this class again because it was so amazing!! There is no homework only 4 exams that consist on the lectures but he gives you a study guide and everything that is on there will be on the exam! Also during lectures he very often tells you what will be on the exam like little freebies so pay attention.

There is of course lots of reading when it comes to Psychology and memorizing. However, I enjoyed their way of teaching with incorporating his own studies and events that has happened in his life. Not only that the best part is the class participation he will have with the class is amazing. Of course there are test. But you will get it!

Professor Barr's PSY101 class is engaging and straightforward. He uses captivating real-life stories to bring the material to life. While exams can be challenging, the course is manageable with good note-taking and Unstuck ai for study prep.

Dr. Barr is an excellent professor, and I'm so glad I had him as a freshman. While the course is lecture-heavy, I highly recommend attending class as it's essential to understanding the material. There's no homework, but you'll have 4 exams throughout the semester that make up your grade. It's a shame he doesn't teach more courses!

Dr. Barr is an excellent professor, and I'm so glad I had him as a freshman. While the course is lecture-heavy, I highly recommend attending class as it's essential to understanding the material. There's no homework, but you'll have 4 exams throughout the semester that make up your grade. It's a shame he doesn't teach more courses!

I hate lectures, but I looked forward to this class every week, he has interesting and funny lectures that makes it easy to grasp what he is teaching and easy to pay attention to. the exams were easy if you pay attention. He made me want to go into psychology by how interesting everything was in his class, I would love to have him as my prof again

This course is graded on 4 exams, so make sure you go to class and take notes/ use the lecture slides. Even though the course is lecture-heavy, it wasn't boring at all. He's a great professor and you can tell he's passionate about psych.

One of best classes I've taken in my 3 years. Long lectures but he keeps them interesting and makes you look forward to the next class. Very good on encouraging participation even in large classes, and would generally stay after class and be there before in case you needed a quick chat. One of the best in our area.

He was pretty chill the tests weren't hard at all I passed them I just had to look at the lecture notes and study guide and I was fine! The lectures do tend to get sort of boring so I'd zone out but even so I still passed with a good grade and I would say it's a good and simple class.

I earned a A+ in this class, Professor Barr is honestly super nice and his class lectures are super entertaining, he is not a tough grader, there's no assignments nor quizzes your grade will depend on what you get on the test, participation does matter it gives you extra points, his class is super easy but only if you study !!
