She's got a thick accent, making her VERY hard to understand, and she talks a mile a minute. Her slides are really boring and she flies through them way too fast. Tests are HARD to study for. She's very unclear when it comes to guidelines and due dates for papers and rarely follows the syllabus. BOO

She is one of the best teachers I have had while at Columbus State. She does have a thick accent however if you stop and take time to ask her questions she is very helpful. I have had her for all three history sequences and feel that her tests and grading style is fair. Just pay attention in class

This professor has a thick accent, and it is very hard to understand her. Her tests are mildly easy, but very hard to study for. She tries to make her lectures interesting by showing a sense of humor that is unnoticable to everyone else but her. Overall, I enjoyed this class, but I not looking forward to the others.

Her personality & ease in teaching style are somewhat disarming and misleading. She is far from laissez faire with regard to her level of expections/quality of work. She was a little tough--exacting--on her grading criteria as pertains to our group presentations. I gained a lot of valuable information.

I took her online class and found it extremely frustrating. She does not clearly lay out expectations and I am still very unclear of her grading requirements. When I asked for help or guidance to improve she was extremely vague and I walked away still unaware of her expectations. I will never take one of her classes again.

There are only four assignments, all of which are essays. None of the criteria makes any sense and there is no lecture material related to anything we are supposed to include in the essays. Any email I have sent has been responded to with one sentence that hardly even made sense or was completely irrelevant. Completely pointless class.

When asking her to help me because im not understanding how the lectures flow with the class, she replied A college student should know DONT TAKE!!!

This professor IS A MESS. First of all. Your grade literally depends on JUST FOUR EXAMS and a book review. There is not extra work and no possibility for raising your grade other than doing really well on the exams and review. She gets snappy when you email her too. Most of the info needed for the exams are NEVER in the power point. DO NOT TAKE!!!!

It was confusing at first to synthesize the information in the textbook, with the posted ppt., and the essay prompts. There were no lectures posted, so it really is you just reading and teaching yourself and writing papers for each exam. Gives good essay feedback, and its very clear what is expected. no busy work or homework, just an essay / unit.

Dr. Drakatos was a pretty chill teacher and the course is basically self-taught. There are 3 exams and a book review. Don't procrastinate and make sure to read the textbook, as all essay prompts are derived from there. As long as you answer all parts of the question, you should not lose any points. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask!

I was really worried about this class since the reviews were so harsh. While I do wish there was a more intimate feel class-wise, the material was very easy to get by. I did not have to purchase/use the textbook at ALL. I used the provided PP presentations and Google, lol. I will say, pay extra attention to the syllabus and her grading feedback.

Prepare to do well on each one if you want to pass this class, as there is no other classwork to cushion your grade if you do bad on one. It's basically a do it yourself class with not a lot of material, and what material is provided is confusing. I don't recommend at all.

Honestly, I prefer hands-off teachers. Prof. Drakatos is one of them. Prof. Drakatos gives us online textbooks, (FREE!!!!) and we just read them. One thing I don't particularly like is being graded on only 4 assignments. I would like to have extra work to cushion myself, but I did pass the class with an A so it worked out.

Her PPTs are sparse in content and generally do not flow well, but even the slightest detail is paramount to an answer on a test and will take more than half a point off a question for not having it. Via email, she is cold, unforgiving, and even rude. No grade buffers with only 4 grades. If you don't do great on a test, there is no extra credit.

Blackboard is not easy to navigate for an online course. No graded or assignment tabs, all assignments are found in the syllabus link. There are only around 4 essays but that leaves little room to make up points. No clear rubric for assignments so can be difficult to show efficiency.
