Incredibly nice teacher who seems interested in what she teaches. She's open to answering any questions, and wants her students to succeed. My biggest complaint is that she doesn't do a good job of interacting with students during lectures - every once in awhile she'll ask for input, but otherwise she's just lecturing. Overall, I recommend her.
Lacey is one of the best accounting teachers you can have. Explains concepts very well, with many of examples. Tests are straight off worksheets she does with you in class. As long as you go to class and study off the sheets and notes you should be able to pass easily A or B.
Professor Bordewick was great, she doesn't like accounting 132 but i wouldn't have known unless she told us. She really likes to know that her students understand, and she splits up tests over two days (the last 2 in class tests). If you have any questions she's always willing to help. Def take her.
Great at explaining the material. good teacher. made sure im taking my next accounting class with her
She is a really good teacher. This class can be difficult at times but she has office hours right before the test and is very helpful there. Notes from class are basically the test SO GO TO CLASS
Lacey is the accounting teacher you want. Period. Want an A? Pay attention in class and do the homework. I'm taking her for acc 132, and so are all of my friends.
Prof Bordewick is a great accounting professor. She knows the material, is helpful during office hours, and tests are fair. Accounting can be a hard subject for some people, but her office hours are normally right before classes/tests, so that can be helpful. Take her if you can!
great teacher! taking her for acc 132 next semester. the only class i could say that the written portion on tests are easier than the multiple choice questions.
Professor Bordewick does a great job of explaining the material in class. She doesn't take attendence, but it is important you go in order to do in class problems that are great to study with. She wants you to do well and does her best to make sure you have the resources you need to do well in the class. I'm taking her again for ACC 132, take her!!
can't explain well
No matter how hard I tried I always somehow did bad in her classes. In 132, I revived all 75+ on all exams but the the homework was nothing like she taught and the final was long and hard. Wouldn't recommend.
One of the best professors I've had at ISU. Took 131 with Thomas & got a C took 132 with Bordewick & got an A. Really wants her students to do well, super helpful & always willing to answer questions. As long as you understand everything on the hand out notes, you'll do fine on tests. Only bad thing is homework is long & not helpful for tests.
I loved having Professor Bordewick for class! Her class isn't a blow off class by any means, but so long as you give good time to study for her exams, they aren't too bad. The homework was pretty long and at some points got confusing, I liked the homework we did in 131 better. But if you met with her she'd help give you hints/answers. TAKE HER!
Bordewick truly respects her students. She has four tests in the semester and the final is cumulative. She is very specific with her notes, which means there are no curveballs on the tests. There is online homework and book work, but it is manageable. Always has office hours and there is an extra credit opportunity. Just go to class and put in time
I would definitely recommend Bordewick for ACC 132. She really knows accounting and does a great job of explaining the material. Her packets that she goes over in class are very similar to what her tests look like. Follow along with the packet work and do the extra credit and you will be good.
She's clear with her expectations and is good about asking if anything needs clarification. The material on exams is pretty much off of the handouts you do in class, so if you pay attention and study the handouts you should do well. The homework is online and can be tricky, but you get three tries on each assignment. I'm mad I didn't get the easy A
I no longer attend ISU, but I wish I could have brought her with me to my new school. She was stern, but very fair and explained things very well. I'd never taken an accounting class in my life, but she made me look forward to it. Do your homework and study hard for the exams (which can be tough), and you'll be fine. A highly recommended prof!!!
Lacey is awesome. ACC 132 is a hard class in general and she does a great job of covering material. She gives handouts for notes, which is awesome because her tests follow the same outline as the notes. There is one homework assignment per week and like 4 or 5 tests total. Study for tests and you will receive a good grade.
She's super nice. She tries to make the class interesting, and her exams are VERY fair. You're going to have to study to do well, but the handouts she gives out are very helpful, and she's super easy to reach outside of class.
Lacey made this the most boring and difficult class I have ever been in. Her tests are all impossible and the homework she assigns almost never matches what she teaches in class. Her handouts seem helpful but do nothing to prepare you for upcoming assignments and exams. This class will ruin your GPA, do not take it with Lacey.
Lacey's an exceptional teacher. She only tests students over what she teaches in class. There are no trick questions. You have to study & truly understand the material to do well in this class. She's accessible outside of class to help you understand the material & very easy to talk to. She is a very fair teacher, it's just a tough class in general
Pretty nice lady, but the exams are very hard. There are only 500 points and 410 come from exams. Studying is a must, or you wont pass.
Her grading scale is absurd, take Mitchell or Thomas instead
Mediocre to say the least
I love Lacey, she is a caring straight forward professor. I personally never used the textbook and just followed along in class with what she was doing. Actually understand the notes and how to do her examples for the tests and you should get an A. HW is online and you get 3 attempts, easy 100. Tests/Final can be difficult if you don't study
One of the best professors that I've had at ISU. I had never taken an accounting class, yet she made it sound so interesting. I'm even considering adding accounting as a minor. But, it isn't easy. You have to work for a good grade. She gives out helpful handouts and is very accessible outside of class. I made sure to take her for 131 and 132.
She is a clear 5/5, there is no question
1st exam was easy, covered the basics. 2nd exam was hard, 3rd exam was alright & she included our EC grade in our exam grade which boosted my grade by a lot. Def recommend doing the EC. She's clear about her expectations & she does make accounting easier to learn. If you do the practice problems and use the cengage study modules and you'll pass
Bordewick is hands-down the best accounting teacher at ISU. She moves as slow as she can and always leaves a full class to go over homework and answer questions for each chapter. She's available in her office multiple times a week for extra help. She's nice, but also doesn't sugarcoat anything. The course is rigorous so do the E.C.
Explains the topics well. The test can be tough if you do not come to class or do the homework. Use her office hours as much as you can.
Prof Bordewick is one of the bands down best professors Ive ever had. She teaches the material well, thoroughly goes over homework assignments in class, covers all topics as clearly and simply as possible. The course material is tough no doubt about it but I dont think you could find a better professor to teach it.
Love this professor. She knows what she is talking about and is straight to the point of exactly what you need to know. Always go to class because the handouts help you do the homework without even reading the book at all. I found exams to be pretty easy as long as I went over her handouts before! Grade largely from exams
Lacey is an amazing person and great professor, but you actually have to work in this class if you want the grade. She gives out handouts that are very similar to the tests, and you need to study those and the homework to receive a good grade.
I liked class with her! She makes her own worksheets and we do them in class with her, and her exams are written exactly like them so if you studied those you'll be fine. She really tries to make sure that we're understanding the material as she teaches it to us. There are 10 points EC and the final is cumulative, but overall she's very nice.
I love her! I took her for 131, and loved her teaching style so much, I took her again for 132. Her classes are very straightforward and although attendance isn't mandatory, it's really helpful to go to every class. Definitely do the extra credit it's easy so there's no reason not to do it! Sitting in class can get boring, but she's funny and sweet
There are guided notes for each lecture which are super helpful. There is corresponding hw online for each chapter, but you get 3 tries which can really boost your grade. The tests are all multiple choice and pretty straight forward. You can also earn 10 pts extra credit, which I highly recommend doing! If you put in the work, you will do well.
Great teacher, just a lot of work. Be ready to study a lot. She explains things really well and goes over notes and hw in class. Overall good teacher, better than other alternatives forsure.
Lacey sucks. Does not explain class work well, pointless lectures and tough tests. Wouldnt recommend.
I loved how she was able to connect what we learned in class to the real world. I took tutoring as well throughout the semester and it was the best choice I have made. If you take the time to study, you will do fine in the class. I personally rarely studied and ended up with a C in the class. You have to have access to Cengage to do the homework.
Theres online homework. Come to class prepared to write. She relates what we learn to things happening in the world. The exams are heavy. You wont understand if you dont study so be prepared to study a lot or get tutoring. Shes a decent teacher. Class isnt mandatory but if skip you could fall behind. Little to no extra credit which sucks.
Online homework every so often that isn't too bad and 4 tests. The tests get harder as the chapters go on. Have to really study the notes to do good on the tests. Do the extra credit!! It saved my grade.
She explains all the material so well during lectures, so go. gives extra credit by going to visor center and taking workshops. gives three exams and comprehensive final. homework is online and you get to rework what you got wrong to try to get a perfect score. do the work and you can definitely get an A.
If you're worried about accounting being hard, TAKE HER. She makes sure everyone fully understands the main concepts and applications before moving on. She is the reason I decided to become an accounting major.
Compared to my experience in 131 with a different professor, Lacey was amazing. Her lectures are easy to follow, as you write notes together or she has a packet you go through together. She explains concepts well. Class does not always go the full length. Attendance is taken for extra credit on select days. 3 attempts on HW.
I had Bordewick for 130 as well and I knew I needed her for 132 as well. I loved going to her lectures because she went in-depth with her class examples. I enjoyed her structured notes and she gives several opportunities for extra credit. Tests are similar to the notes taken in class. Once the pandemic hit, she was very understanding and lenient.
I signed up to take ACC132 with her as well because she makes Accounting easier. She's really great at explaining things and is always available to answer your questions. I have a class that ends 10 minutes before her office hours end, but she still lets me join her zoom code to get clarification on topics. She really wants her students to succeed.
Lacey is fine. She was kind of rude at the beginning, stating that she dosn't think half of us will make it through her class and that her class is SUPER HARD. Its not hard, probably one of the easiest classes I've taken at ISU. Her pride for her class is annoying but her lectures are easy to understand and she makes herself available to students.
If you are taking 131 or 132 please take Professor Bordewick. If you pay attention and take notes during her lectures you will do good on the tests. She is extremely reasonable and offers extra credit right off of the bat for 10 points which can really help your grade. I have taken both 131 and 132 with her and enjoy her style of teaching a lot.
Professor Bordewick's class isn't very hard as long as you do the work and study before tests. The extra credit also helps a lot to the point where I didn't have to take the final.
Professor Bordewick is great! I had her for both acc 131 and 132 and I received almost 100% in both. If you watch the lectures and do the homework, you will do well. She releases the lecture videos on Monday then you have from Wednesday to the next Wednesday to complete the homework.
10 homework assignments & 4 exams total. As long as you go to lectures and do the homework youll be fine. Accounting is not easy so I wouldnt recommend skipping a class just because we go through chapters fairly quickly. Very nice professor and is always down to help if needed
ACC 132 is a tough class, but Lacey is a great professor to have for the class. Her lectures are great and she is very knowledgeable about the subject. She is also very helpful if you have questions outside of class. She gives random extra credit for attendance which is great.
Lacey Bordewick is AMAZING! After barely passing financial accounting, I was very nervous about taking managerial. However, she made the course as easy as possible and would always prepare the class for exams. There are 4 exams (including the final) and the final is over 2 chapters with only 15 questions. Definitely take ACC 132 with her!
TAKE HER! After a horrendous financial acc class I was worried but she is the best teacher! You do guided notes, practice problems, homework, and then test. Really helped me know the material. Do not be weary main grade in class is 4 exams but they are multiple choice! If you just know the basic concept of the material this class will be a breeze!
Lacy is very sweet and personable. Her class isnt easy especially since its accounting. All I can say, GO TO CLASS! I had it at 8am and its a pain in the ass but I did learn. Do the homework too, its a goo chunk of your grade and can save you if exams arent your thing.
Professor Bordewick was the best Acc prof I have ever had. She actually taught the material very well. Her tests are exactly how she says they are and if you put in the time to study you will get an A.
There was about one online assignment per week and optional practice textbook questions we went over in class. As long as you go to class and get the handouts for notes it's not hard to pass although some of the material is tough and she tends to go pretty fast.
There are no surprises, she makes her exams similar to the homework and notes. She isn't a hard professor, but the class is. She gives extra credit which is great. Going to class is not mandatory, but if you skip you will struggle. Overall, I think she was a great professor for a hard class. She was very nice and helpful whenever I reached out.
Honestly one of my favorite professors at ISU. She cares deeply about her students and their wellbeing. Second exam we all bombed, and she gave out remediation problems. It's not a hard class at all, years easier than ACC131. If you are taking this class, take it with Professor Bordewick.
Easiest class ever. You would have to either just not show up to class or legitimately be a moron. I got a 102 in this class. Easy exams and light workload.
Lacey is such a great teacher that you don't need to read or learn from the book (although you have to purchase the site with the book to do the homework). Practice problems are helpful to do beforehand but are reviewed in class, homework is straightforward and not time-consuming, tests are multiple choice. Highly recommend.
Lacey was an amazing professor that actually helped me understand accounting through her lectures. She seems intimidating at first, but is very helpful. If you do not go to lecture, you will most likely not pass. Review through examples. That is the only way to pass exams in her class!
Professor Bordewick is a really great professor. Does a lot of in class problems and goes over them very clearly. Gives out random extra credit just for coming to class. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't show up, you probably won't pass the class. If you take ACC 132, I definitely recommend taking it with Professor Bordewick.
Professor Bordewick is awesome. She explains the material very clearly and assigns homework that really is helpful to understanding the content presented in the lectures. Exams are fair to what she teaches.
Literally take her for Managerial Accounting. She gives out packets and explains concepts really well. The class is difficult because it is still accounting but she is miles better than other accounting professors.
Bordewick made managerial accounting so much easier for me. She has great lectures and is very passionate. Do the homework and show up to every lecture.
Uses good examples and gives notes that are very helpful!
stopped going to class after the second test, ended with a B, homework is super easy and tests are just like the handouts
Professor Bordewick is a great professor. She cares a lot about her students and clearly understands the material. She gives about 10 points of extra credit throughout the semester for attendance which is a nice touch. This class is definitely one of the harder ones I have taken at ISU, but her positive energy makes coming to class everyday easy.
Definitely the best professor for this class. She gives handouts in class that are exactly like the exams, so if you review those and understand the material you'll do well on exams. Offers some extra credit, mostly for attendance.
She's one of the best professors I've ever had. She makes all the handouts herself and the test and they are similar so you actually are prepared for test. She always answers questions and she gave out extra credit opportunities that were very easy. Just a very very good professor highly recommend.
She's probably the best professor I've ever had. She makes an annoying and boring subject easy to learn through handouts and examples and tells you what will be on tests. Tests make up almost 80% of your grade but they are simple and multiple choice. Worst part is that she uses an expensive online book ($165) for homework.
I liked her in the beginning but she became less clear when she taught her material as time went not and doesn't round grades at all even if you are less then a point away from passing. I would not take her personally again because of these reasons when I was doing really well for a while and once I failed one test, I was done for.
Overall good Professor. Everything we spent time doing in class was on the exam. Exams are pretty easy if you do the in class examples and the extra credit. Also using the study mode on the homework chapters is a plus. Exams practically make ur grade.
I would highly recommend Professor Bordewick. Exams are very similar to in class work sheets and she explains everything thoroughly
One of the best professors I've had so far. She's very organized and outlines expectations clearly. She also does guided notes that are a life saver when studying for exams.
Toward the beginning of the semester with her I thought she was an alright professor. As time went on I was lacking when it came to tests simply because we wouldn't go over the information throughly. A one line comment she makes in class can end up as a question on the test, while what we practice in class could end up being unused almost entirely.
People say this course is easier than Acc131, but it isn't for me. A lot more confusing formulas and word problems. Boredwick is a fine teacher but the lecuters for the third exam were incredibly painful to get through. Attendance isn't required but you definitely would not pass if you don't show up to class.
BEST accounting professor. Guided notes are so clear. Exams are super simple and multiple-choice. Does a review before with almost identical test questions. Homework can be long but is always more complicated than the tests so don't stress if it's confusing. Drops lowest homework. Lots of extra credit. SO MUCH better than 131. MUST GO TO CLASS.
Genuinely the best accounting teacher. She gives guided notes that make studying easy, and note taking extremely efficient. She gives out 1 extra credit point for every chapter if you do the work and come into class. I struggled in 131, and barely passed. When I took this class it came so easy to me it made me excited for other accounting courses.
I struggled so much in ACC 131 but taking this class with she was probably the best decision I have ever made at ISU. I hesitated going up to her and asking for help until the end of the year when I saw my grade was struggling. Super clear with grading and gave examples of what will be on tests. The notes you take in class are your study guides!!!
After taking 131 I can say this class was so much better, Now you need to show up to every lecture and your grade is based off 4 exams and some homework so keep in mind you are graded by very little. Great Professor overall.
passing the whole semester. did not pass the course cause of the final. she could clearly see I knew what I was doing in the class and made little mistakes that she wouldn't give any partial credit for. She also caught a student cheating right next to me and did not fail him, but would not help me do extra work to boost my grade. worked against me
Loved this class! The professor is great, would highly recommend taking Lacey for ACC 132. For an accounting class it is not difficult if you go to class and put in the work to study for exams.
Bordewick's ACC 132 class is a breeze compared to ACC 131. The course is well organized with expectations and material are communicated clearly. There are extra credit opportunities with each chapter. Attendance is taken but does not impact the grade. The textbook and Connect premium are required which the homework is completed through.
