If you are willing to do some real work AND learn, this is the professor for you. Tests are essays but if you work hard, it's a peice of cake

SHE'S REALLY PRETTY EASY YOU JUST HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE LECTURE (IT'S ALL THERE) SHE DOESN'T TEST ON NOTHING SHE HASN'T THROUGHLY REVEIWED. A LITTLE STUDY AND READING THE TEST QUESTIONS TWICE BEFORE ANSWERING THEM SHOULD GET YOU AN A. SHE DOES 3 TESTS IN THE SEMISTER AND NO HW.

She does emphasize Vygotsky and Piaget. I liked her course. She is more clear than people say and very smart. I took her during the summer so we got a lot less work to do. Her tests are not diffcult just long and thorough. I learned a lot through the class discussions. It was worth it.

Professor B. is great. She is very interested in what she teaches and it shows. If you pay attention and listen to what she says, you will do wonderfully. All her answers are in the class discussion-bring a tape recorder if you feel you might drift. Wonderful lady!

I loved her class. She was very clear on everything and extremely helpful. The wit and amusement she adds to the class is also a huge plus. The notes and lectures she gives in class are very informative, so you must be there in order to understand everything easily, since the textbook is crap compared to her lectures :) BTW:BEWARE OF HER EXAMS!

Compelling lectures taught by a brilliant professor. Sure her class was difficult, but isn't that the overall point of college?!? Her lectures laid the fundamental groundwork for all of my other psychology courses. Extremely difficult exams, but you'll never, ever forget Lev Vygotsky & his theory after her class.

If you are really interested in psycology, she is the right blend.

You have to pay attention in class and you'll be fine. Take down all her notes and particpate in class. I got an A for doing just that and i am not a brilliant study. Overall she is a good professor for people that want to learn.

She is very nice professor. I would say if you study and listen to her, you can get an A or B in her class.

She's fair - she doesn't make us write term papers in this class, only read text.

Brilliant woman, a little difficult getting past the thick Bengali accent in the begining. However, when you do she is an amazing teacher. Must take her for any psychology class she is teaching.

she is a good prof., yet not the easiest one. you have to work hard to gain your grade. in our first exam, 50% failed. be careful!

She is very smart. She really knows what she is talking about, which is great in a professor. She expects you to read the chapter and do your own studying, and her tests are hard.

She's tough but fair, exams require complete understanding of material-usually 2 essays per exam and multiple choice questions. She tries to make the class interesting, just read what's assigned and pay attention in class and all should be fine. Dev Psych is her field, so hold onto something & expect her to dive right into the subject.

I took her and found her to be honest and fair. 3 tests, tests are comprehensive. During classes you can tell what will be on the tests. Seems like she's mean but she's prettty cool. Read, you do have to participate a little, tests are multiple choice, fill in and short essay. Very doable class..you'll learn alot.

NOT HARD AT ALL. People expect that by just attending the class you will automatically pass. This is COLLEGE PEOPLE, you have to study. If you go to class; listen and pay attention to her lectures; take notes and study your notes, you should be fine. I did not even need my textbook. She does appear mean but she really is not. She's awesome. Be prepared to write a lot if she gives written tests instead of take home essays. The essays require a bit of insight. You must actively participate and know your theorists!

I had her for ssy240& 241! What a blessing. I think she only teaches during the evening however. 241 was based on take home essays which was great and a lot of fun. You must have something to talk about and substance to add to the discussions so review those chapters and know maslow's hiearchy of needs!!! Participation is key.

She is very good at what she does, i completly respect her and her views on development. i wont lie, exams are not easy but if you study hard and are active in class she will give you what you deserve. she isnt predjuce against non idian. I'm from romanian and she would not stop talking about her great experience. in the end u get what u put in.

She is very thorough and depending on the topic can be a little boring. Make careful notes during her lectures and you'll get a good grade. She sounds mean but she's not. She frets like a parent sometimes to make the students participate, since she needs feedback to be sure that students understand. Wake up, read your text and be ready to interact.

Style favors class notes (she'll write everything on the board herself) over textbook. No graded homework, tests and class participation are everything. Tests (essay & multiple choice) are marathons demanding A LOT of study time. Very fair grader. If you are not comfortable as a writer, take another section. Only teaches evenings.

Very sweet and always smiling. She made sure that the class understood what is expected for the homework assignments. And for the comment underneath mine - it's clear you didn't understand her because if you are in college and have not learn by now it's "she doesn't", NOT "she don't", maybe you should reconsider your comment.

She made the class interesting and she took interest in her students. Her exams are tough,multiple choice,essay and short answer questions. Focus on whatever she places emphasis on. Take notes and if she advises you to write a mock paper do it! It will pay off. She's not as bad as people make her out to be.Give her a chance I'm glad I did!

I enjoyed her class... the only thing you need to be careful is with the tests. Make sure to write down all the example she gives and to read the chapters. she doesn't drop the lowest grade but her tests are easy ..multiple choice and essays.

LOVE her, i would gt excited to come to class. she will NEVER test u on information she has not gone over. her notes r very clear (n colorful) she seems bad at first bt shes awesome. n' class participation makes the class way better. if ur late she doesn't get upset, no hw, no papers, just4 tests which r nt hard if u study ur notes.

I was so lucky to be in her class.I got A since she created a wonderful class room atmosphere. I learned a lot from her.Her tests are not so hard if you really focus on her lectures. I wish every professors are like her.I really encourage people to take her class.

I took her class thinking i was gonna fail, but she made psy fun for me. Her test arent hard if you just study.She is a hard grader but her tests arent bad.She teaches with great passion and explains the material very well. I ended up getting a A in her class.

She is GREAT! Smart, interesting and definitely DOES care about what students think. She expects you to use your brain and show up to class, but in college, if you can't do that then you shouldn't be there. If you use proper spelling and grammar, and put more than 5 seconds of effort into your papers you'll get good grades from her.She's awesome!

She is a very nice woman and i loved her class!we would sit in a circle and just speak about our experiences that had to do with the topic she gave the grade you got showed how much effort you put into the class. 3 short papers and one 8 page paper on any topic you liked that we discussed. if your a lazy person then i suggest drop her class.

I love this professor. She taught me essential understanding of life. I wish she would teach at John Jay I would love to have the honor to take her classes again.

This professor was pretty good. Her explaining was very easy and to the point. Her exams are only difficult if you didnt study. ALWAYS use your notes and ALWAYS take notes in her class, ITS SO IMPORTANT if you want to pass. Dont be on your phone, dont talk. Ask questions if you need help, shes willing to help. I really enjoyed her class!!

with all the bad comments I personally found her nice and down to earth . I took her in long sems. the only thing you have to do is writing 3 papers 5 pages each and one term paper 8-10 pages about any psyc topic. read and participate in class and show up. she's very open and understanding. No extra points. very straightforward but it's ok

I really like her as a person. As a professor, her class was extremely hard.

No exams. Writing intensive class. 3 papers, 1 term paper which is the final. She is a very fair grader. She switched up her teaching style by turning it into a group discussion class. She seems to be doing this new style for SSY241 only. If you love to talk, take this course.

This class was one of the easiest class I have taken in laguardia. Good discussions. All you need to do is participate in class discussion and write your papers. Don't forget to give real life examples in your papers and you will be fine! If you are a psych major and think she is hard or a tough grader, please change your major!

Contrary to the bad ratings she's recieved, I find this Prof. very knowledgeable and fair, she's so creative and involves everybody in class discussions, she listens even when you're not making sense and explain it better to you She only expect you to research and write quality essay as required I love Dr. Bandlamudi, I think she's a great Prof!

yes the class was challenging , this is college not elementary school. if u study and do what you are suppose to do in college you will pass. she is a very intelligent women.

I took her for General Psychology. It was the easiest and the most interesting class I've taken in LGCC so far. If you listen and take good notes, you will definitely pass. Very straightforward. And her lectures are so interesting. I learned so much. She definitely knows how to teach. Hope I get her for SSY204.

Shes a great professor. I can honestly say Ive learned a lot from her class. My advice would be to mark your territory in the front of her class, keep up with the chapters and read the textbook because she likes details and try your best to get used to her accent. Shes a very nice person and has a great sense of humor. Easy A fosho!

She was my professor for SSY 101. She's a cool lady who wants students to show up and be engaged. She likes students who are engaged and thinking about the material. She doesn't use technology, and really hates cell phones. The tests were the whole grade, and each test had an essay and multiple choice component. Easy A for me.

Shes a pretty great professor. Shes very clear on what she expects of her students. The only biggest worry is the fact that she assigns four tests and thats pretty much what your final grade is based on, along with attendance and participation, of course. But once you study and pay attention and ask necessary questions, her class is a breeze.

Youre grading solely on the 4 exams she gives. She doesnt give any review sheet. Whatever she says during the lectures is what will be on the test, go to the textbook for clarification. The tests are in 2 parts, one day is the multiple choice and the other short response Qs. She likes a lively class so participate a lot.

Prof. Bandlamudi was an amazing professor. If you show up, participate, and do well on your essays then you will get an A. I loved the layout of the classroom and actually enjoyed being in class.

It was a pleasure having Prof. Bandlamudi as my professor for SSY-240 (Fall '19). She is very smart and truly cares for her students. Her lectures are engaging and I liked being in her class. This is an actual college level course so be prepare to read and write a lot but the reward of hard work will pay off. Participation is also very important.

Her lectures are heavily based on information from the textbook (the textbook that you need for the class), therefore, I would read the textbook, if you want to pass the exams. Sometimes what she lectures is not even in the textbook, so I would pay close attention to what she says. She is also such a sweetheart. A very profound professor.

I took both general & developmental psych classes & personally if you are interested in psychology ,without going too into neuro, I think she is a great teacher at explaining the both topics. Her passion toward psychology helps you get through the course, but if you want a class to pass and you aren't interested in psych, she is not for you.

It is possible to pass this course if you have a good memory and can memorize the notes on the blackboard as pdf files. There are no online exams or homework. The exams are multiple-choice and will require you to recall key points from the lectures. To answer questions correctly, you need a good understanding of the material.

Look, she's not easy in many ways, old-fashioned, yet shes very personable, and the only teacher who has taught me material that I havn't forgotten. If your ready to work her Psych 101 class will set you up for the rest of the unit. She gets a 4 and not a 5 because she is pretty rigid on teaching style and her tests can require a lot of research.
