She is the worst math class I have ever taken... I just never got what she's talking about, and don't understand what she said. She just scrambled the words... I would never take her again...
as other users rates, she's not easy, but i managed to get a B+, but its through real hard work, she jots down lectures at the speed of light, and she mumbles, you'll need to be tough on her, she dropped our lowest exam.
Not an easy class at all. However, a very knowledgeable teacher. She is always well prepared for the class although always late to the class. If you follow the homework everyday and ask her the problems that you cannot do the next day, you will do fine
A hard teacher but very knowledgeable. She loves her subject and cares about the students who care too. Talks very quickly but you can get if you pay attention.
Writes down everything she says on the board. Lecturs are not hard to understand. Her testing is hard. Only a couple of problems and are worth 6 points each. Will not let you make up any quizes or tests because she drops the lowest scores.
Yes this teacher is difficult. But her teaching for the Math 1D class was not that bad. I did take her for a previous calc class before and that was difficult. But this class was not so bad. Take her, you're in for a treat.
She is the worst teacher I have EVER had, she has annoying teaching methods, always late, she doesnt care that she was wrong on her grading in your test. If you can avoid her please do, I always got the highest score on her tests and even that was a 82%
WORST teacher ever!!!! She literally writes everything she says on the board. Has the worst test/quizzes ever. Her tests/quizzes are totally different from her lecture or books. Try to avoid this teacher at any cost.
Well, it will be best to have taken the class before or know the subject well before taken it form her. She will offer you only confusion. She spend so much time on non class related subjects. No TI 89. She does not explain the subject well.
She overreacts about the desks not being in order. She calls on each of her students and if you don't know the answer she will continue to pick on you untill you give her the right answer. She never explains ANYTHING! She talks about non related subjects.
That woman has NO PATIENCE!! She goes over the material at 80 mph with her unclear accent. She also expects you to know the material after going over it once. Don't take her.
She is useless as an instructor. All she is good for is to grade your exam. If you like teachers that go over each step at least once, DON'T TAKE HER! She expects you to teach yourself and her class is for her amusement.
Probably the best teacher I have ever had. Highly recommended. Her lectures are very clear and I gain a lot from the course.
she is a a horrible teacher. she doesnt know what the hell she is doing. If only i knew about her before it was too late.
She is a good instructor. She knows the material she is teaching, but she has an accent so it may be difficult to understand her at times. She is willing to help you, so always ask lots of questions because she wants you to understand.
hard to understand what she is saying but if you need help she will try to help you. make sure you do the homework and the rest will come easy
This was one of the worst teachers ever. I couldn't understand what the hell she was saying and her teaching is terrible. She expects you to know all the material after one time. Don't take this teacher for the love of god!
i think miss v is an excellent professor. she expects the students to be ready for the challenge of a higher education. all professors expect students to think fast at this level. miss v is the best math teacher i have had.
This teacher talks too fast, has a strng accent, and tries to explain equations or problems in such complicated ways. She has a hard time making math simple. the only reason why the class was kinda easy was because the book explained the problems clearly.
DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER. may be she knows maths but she dont know how to teach.
she waists a lot of time on stupid things like rearranging the desks every single day. She is had to understand, and she doesnt really have a set teaching structure.
Her accent is very thick and can be very rude at times. If you are not perfect, then plan on losing a lot of points on tests, quizzes, and homework. RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!!
She goes through the material very fast. She is not an friendly teacher. She is impatient when you ask her questions. The quizzes and exams are very hard.
After two weeks I dropped this class. I will take it again with a different professor.
She is inflexible about little rules like writing out full sentences in answers. She's always willing to help if you see her in office hours- she's very nice. You will pass if you just do the homework and ask for helo if you need it.
English is poor, hard to understand.
she selects certian students and picks on them through out the quarter. and she does not explain anything clearly
as long as you pay attntion, take all the notes, and ask her questions, you'll get through the class. she actually stops and goes through what you don't understand until you finally get it. she's actually a lot better than the other teachers out there
THIS TEACHER GAVE ME A D IN THE CLASS. I TOOK THE PLACEMENT TEST AGAIN AND GOT PLACED IN 105!!! HORRIBLE TEACHER. I WENT THROUGH ALOT TO GET PLACED TO WHERE I NEED TO BE BECAUSE SHE GAVE ME A NON PASSING GRADE. SHE IS VERY PARTICULAR IN WHAT SHE WANTS.
Took all four calculus classes with her. I never take any notes. Just do and understand all the assigned problems. Make sure u go to her office hour. I think she give higher grade to those who go to her office hour. Got C's in 1A and 1B. B's in 1C and 1D.
first class i droped out of. can understand her thick accent, thus i didn't understand the problems she was doing. she goes fast because she thinks everyone knew everything.
She lectures from the book VERBATUM! Does not address student concerns at all, but argues with the student instead. Very particular about what she wants on tests, and docks points for the tiniest detail (and don't bother asking for the points back)
Great teacher. One of the best ever. Very helpful in office hours. Are you going trust the guy below who couldn't spell a simple word like "verbatim".
Avoid her at all cost!!! If u want PAIN and SUFFERING, she's the best candidate. But if you want to succeed, look for other professors.
One of the worst teachers ive ever had. She docks points for almost no reason. If your not great at math find a more forgiving teacher that actually has emotions. I'm currently in the class at the moment and if you have never taken trig before your in a world of PAIN.
The way she grades gets in the way of her being able to teach properly, and her answer for everything is "Trust me, Ive been teaching for 14 years." Dont bother taking her class if you want to learn something.
Are you really going to trust the guy below? He really is an idiot. Do you think that is possible for grading to get in the way of teaching? That doesn't even make sense. Make an honest attempt at every homework assignment and you will be sure to get a good grade.
great teacher
Not only is she a hard grader, but she is hard to comprehend as well. Its not enough if you study, you have to be awake when doing the tests because otherwise she'll cut off SO MANY POINTS(even if you get the answer right!).
This teacher is horrible. I took her class and she failed me. After, I went to go take the placement test and come to find out, I passed on to the next math course. This shows that she cannot grade if a student did not pass the class but passed the placement test.
Worst Math Teacher ever and I thought I had some bad ones in the past. Lets just say that when I started the class there where people trying to get in through the wait-list. Now at the end of the quarter there are maybe 9 people left. Only if you know Trig already should you take this class.
Can not teach, Language barrier, looks for anything to take points away, wants you to do poorly so you stay at Deanza longer and they make more money off you.
her class is easy to me, she just make simple problems for quizzes and tests. not hard to get an A. but there are many quizzes in her class. i get an A in her class. but she emphazise a lot on steps, if u miss out a step, marks will be deducted though not harsh even ur answer is correct.
I'm very surprised at what most people are saying about Lakshmi. She is the best math teacher I've ever had, she puts people on the spot which makes you pay attn. Her criticalness is for your benefit. math requires precision. The first day I thought she was a nazi, by the end I loved her.
If u do all your homework youll be fine. You get used to the accent after a while. Other than that, she's always willing to help.
i don't know what else to say
great teacher, good at math
Her teaching skill is not really goood but she does know what she has to do in every lectures. She is a nice person if you got any question, you can ask for her help anytime.
She is a horrible teacher. She humiliates you if you don't remember the previous materials. Her test and quizzes are unreasonably hard and sometimes wrong. Whoever is said she is a good teacher and got an "A" is probably because they took that class previously.
SUC*S , if u wanna get confused and also u need c ,f or W on ur transcript , she will be the best one .
Not for people who want to just pass to get the grade and go on to a job that doesnt require math. If you are going to need math in your future you should take her. She is somewhat hard, but she is very knowledgable. Also most of the quizes and tests are right from the book. 2 quizes, 1 test are drop
she is by far the worst math teacher....is a shame De Anza is only able to hire professors such as this lady...In regards of how much she knows her stuff doesn't really matter because a teacher should know how to get her students to understand, but she is not able to succesfully fufill her duty
Shes not that bad. Well I guess she is since I couldnt follow her lectures and I taught myself from the text book. I think her assignment and tests are easy. I had to correct her in class once.
very knowledgeable, tests aren't too bad
Spare yourself... if your not strong in math plz do yourself a favor and find another teacher. 1) Thick Accent... 2) Horrible teaching style... 3) No heart at all. She will mark you wrong even if you get the right answer, and you will have to argue that you didnt change the answer. HORRIBLE TEACHER
She is insane. I cant get "so far so good," out of my head, thats all she says as she zooms through problems. If you dont rememeber a formula from second garde she makes it known to everyone. every single word she says she writes on the board, avoid avoid avoid
Okay, so I don't think she necessarily means bad. But here's the scoop: Pedantic and Unorthodox -- NOT in the for-your-own-good kind of way. Classes are supposed to build off previous classes and she defeats that purpose entirely. Great mathematician, nice enough person, but a bad instructor!
Absolutely harsh grader. Most of the class dropped, and the rest of us were given lots of extra credit work to do because the failure rate would otherwise be high. She even grades based on whether or not you use a flat bar or a slash to separate the numerator and denominator in fractions. Bizzare
I cant believe her rating is even over a 2. Thick accent, horrible teaching style, picks on you, insists that you should know Geometry even though De-Anza does not teach it. She actually thinks that the kids that pass her class learned Trig in her class when in fact most of them had taken it before.
she never try to answer the hard Qs, and ask you to come over to office, and she never there. Late for class every day, and the note she write on the bord, is direct from the TesBook. not recomand for anyone, expect you are really good at math, don't need any teacher to teach.
Ms V is not really that bad. She's nice and willing to help though she sometimes also doesn't know how to answer you. If you do all her assigned textbook problems, you will be fine with the Quizzes and exams. Recommanded. Not Hard for an A
She is a nice person, and her class is easy. You can get A or B easily, if you follow her step by step.
She is the best math teacher I have every had. She really explains everything, and loves when you come to her office for help. Just make sure you show all of your work on exams and quizzes that's her pet peave.
Shes really not that bad if you're already okay at math. her oint system is pretty okay. But shes only good if you have a good foundation. I never paid too much attention but i still pulled a B. But others who arent familier w/ what shes teaching WATCH OUT
I honestly thought I was going to fail this class in the beginning of the quarter, but I ended up getting a B in the class. But believe me, I worked my ass off for this B. Yes she seems like to a nice person, but I was on her bad side. So yea, becareful. IF your trying to ace Calc 1b, do not take her unless Calc comes really easy to you.
She can be a bit rude when answering questions. Also, her quizzes are hard. She put problems where there were nothing similar in the book. She doesn't do office hours in the summer. She tends to miss class or be late on random days. Doesn't allow us to eat/drink in class. I like how she writes everything on the board so we don't miss any points.
A very smart lady. Understands students' questions and answers them well. A bit particular about how work is shown: must label and scale all axes, etc., but not too unreasonable. Think about the material until you understand it, and you should be fine. Gives extra credit quizzes when test scores are low.
She's ok. U gotta do the hw and it will help u understand the material, and the quizzes are easy if u understand everything. It's possible 2 get xtra credit. The worst thing about her is that she's very picky about everything, takes off points for tiny details. The accent is annoying. Gotta pay attention 2 her lectures or she'll start picking on u.
IF you want to get an F for fune, take this class. you will not understand what she is saying. Simply she doent speak english at all!! The exams are not related to the textbook. I dont believe that she is allowed to teach in this college. Never take her class!!
Very picky grader, but predictable. Her accent is NOT bad. All test questions come from the HW directly. look for the hardest HW probs. they WILL be on the test. I think she grades hard to make you work harder. After ex. credit it's really not that hard to get a good grade. If your a slacker then disregard last statement and go flip burgers.
Don't her class. You won't understand what she is teaching. She is under the impression that she is a good instructor. She never tires to explain anything, but copies the definitions from the textbook. Take it if you love self-study a lot.
I appreciate that she writes what she says on the board. Otherwise, none of us is able to know what she is talking because of her accient. However, it is useless at all because she doesn't know how to teach. She is nice, but totally not a good instructor. I mean she doesn't know how to explain to students.
Avoid this class unless you are good @ math. Tests & quizzes are hard. Terrible teaching. Some 1 in the class literally did every odd prob in the book and they're getting a B! This person deserves an A. Hardly gives room to do work on exams, making exams take longer. Has time limit. Difficult to finish exam. TERRIBLE! Thick accent.
Hard tests. Or they could be easier if she lectured better. She just does problems and she writes to fast. I just mindlessly copy the notes whitout understanding. Instead of doing 6 problems quickly, she should do 3 problems slowly to make sure the class understands. She acts like every class is a review, rather than learning for 1st time. AOVID!
She isn't that tough, I even got an A. The previous raters are probably either lazy or dumb.
Strongly recommend. I do not do any HW and I just read the notes before the quizzes. It is very easy to get A in that class. Her notes are very clear and tidy, you do not need to read the text book, just only read her notes. Her quizzes and exams are straight forward. Therefore, I strongly recommend her.
Being honest, she is a quite good instructor. Whenever you got any problems, she will help you. If you pay attention in class and do all the homework assignments, you can get a A
YES , SHE SPEAKS FAST AND SHE ARE NOT SO HELPFUL. BUT IF YOU LIKE MATH AND HAVE MOTIVATION TO STUDY MATH, TAKE HER CLASS. BECAUSE HER TEST IS EASY AND STRAIGHT-FORWARD.
She was awful. At the beginning I could stand her b/c I knew the pre calc material from high school, but when it came to the hard part, she's not being helpful at all. She screams at you when you don't understand it. She expects you to study by yourself and be an expert.Take her if you already took Calc in high school and aced everything.
She's not hard, she's just meticulous-when you're doing a problem, don't skip any steps.Label everything, don't forget units in your answers. Also, take notes in lecture and do the homework. If you do, you will get a good grade. Most people in my class didn't do the homework and then complained that they didn't understand.Idiots.
shes not that hard, she wants you to write every thing clearly, she gives lots of quizzes, quzzies are all from hw,she is not that bad as long as you study hard
This instructor is awful.Very confrontational style and she likes to pick on people based on how poorly they performed in the last exam or quiz. Definitely a Dawinist take on instruction. If you are struggling, she enjoys being superior rather than actually being helpful. She believes that if you are not naturally good at math, you are unintelligent.
One of the best teachers at De Anza College. Unfortunately, she is a very hard grader. I heard she only gives 10% A's, 20% B's.
nice teacher...don't frek out by her style..just listen carefully and follow her instructions
Not worth the headache. She rushes along in class. She asks "so far so good?", but doesn't care about the answer - half the time we're too busy trying to copy down her notes to respond anyway. Her tests and quizes are hard and you don't have enough time to finish. She requires you to document everything, and she marks off if you don't.
Cons: Accent was annoying, talks too fast to understand, writes down everything she says, sometimes not enough time to finish exams, VERY picky on exam/quizzes (must label everything) Pros: Notes were clear, gives extra credit on quizzes, gives extra time if the entire class can't finish exam, quizzes/exam from book, uses point system.
She is not tht bad. It's just the way she teaches is diff..
Avoid like the plague.
she talks kind of fast and i had a hard time at first. but she is helpful and tries to help you.
She is really bad at teaching
I hope that I am going to feel the way the happy people are describing at the end of the quarter, but as it stands now, shes hard to follow, talks too fast, and asks if everyone is on the same page but doesn't actually pause to get an answer or help those who need help. "I've been teaching for 14 years" is not a argument, its hard to replace profs.
Very easy teacher thats if you do the homework everyday. She does say so far so good a lot. Strong accent. Drops the lowest test and 2 lowest quizzes. She gave out 2 extra credit quizzes and you get a notecard of notes for final. Does everything step by step and its quite interesting if you remember your previous math.
I really did not like being in her class. I found things pretty easy to start off with but then when it got to some of my favorite subjects, such as, pythagorean theorum, she would mark me down for the little things like 'bad grammar'. I thought this was a math class... Not english. Watch what you write!
easy quizzes. easy exams if u do the homework. she gives extra credits and the sample of final questions be4 final. and she gives make up exams(replace 3 answers u did on the exam).
Does lecture quickly, but she writes down everything she says, so her accent isn't an issue. Reviews homework problems every class period, so easy to ask questions. Lots of homework, but exams and quizzes easy if you complete it. Extra credit opportunities, and very helpful during office hours. Be respectful! She has no patience for rudeness.
Very picky grader, if you do not do the math in her style, you get penalized. Accent is horrible. Most annoying word for her to say is "angle". She says "So far so good?" like 50 times each class. Pretty boring. If you are already bad at math, you will do pretty bad. If you are good at tolerating, adapting, working hard, you can get a good grade.
miss v is a teacher who wants EVERYTHING IN DETAIL ON THE TESTS!!!! DO ALL YOUR HW... AND BE PERFECT.. PERIOD! i dont do the homework everyday.. i just study before quizzes and tests becuase this is my second time taking trig.. and this teacher expects a lot from you, and you can decide if thts bad or good...
She has accent. Sometimes, her words are annoying. BUT SHE IS A VERY EASY MATH TEACHER. If you already know the materials, you can get a A+++ without any troubles. Even though you suck at math, just do all her assigned homework, extra credit exercisers, write down the notes everyday, review them all before exam. Then you will have no problem!!
Reasonably good teacher who really wants to see her students do well in the class. If you do the homework and ask for clarification in class you should can do well. You must show all your work (and then some) for full credit but you learn what she is looking for on the first couple of quizes. She does expect you to make the effort. Do recommend.
Juz got an A. Quite easy to get A if you know the subject pretty well and DO ALL HER STEPS IN THE QUIZ/TEST.The steps she want are quite long and bulky but you just follow it, you will definitely get an A. Pretty much quizzes. Some extra credit, more than enough to push u up for a grade. Yes, recommened if you can withstand her accent@@".
One of the most ridiculous teachers I've ever had- incredibly unclear in her lectures, does not check the homework, gives insufficient amount of time for quizzes and tests, and makes up for it all with huge amounts of extra credit. Sort of an easy 'A', but only if you're willing to give up your sanity for the quarter.
she can't teach, you won't use your ear in her class since you wont understand what she's saying. all i could remember is "so far so good"! not helpful at all!
cant teach, talk very fast and with accent.. even a native speaker cant follow what she is saying. Exams are very hard and grade pullers!! surely bring down your GPA!! dont take her or you will regret!! i'm saving your GPA and math education..
Mrs. V!!! She's kind at heart and loves to teach math. Although her class is fast paced and her accent is distracting, if you ask for help she'll certainly give it to you. I had a fun time listening to all her quotes such as: "Burn the midnight oil!", "The sine waves is sooooo beautiful!", and Hi! Young man! Yes, you!"
She is the nicest professor teaching Calculus. Very helpful and forgiving at grading. She marks points off for silly things, but in the long run her grading is fair and easy.
Do not take her unless you have to. Her accent is thick, but understandable. When you don't understand something, she'll go on a total rant about how important "Matimatix" is...And yes, she is extremely exacting in her grading, her standards are too high, and she expects perfect grammar. If she really wanted to teach, she would learn how.
Bad teacher; don't take her if you want an A.
I'm currently in her class and it's "so far so good".Do not take her class if you need to learn math from scratch, you must have a basic knowledge oh you will be totally lost. She doesn't collect all the homework so it's a low stress class. Do exactly as she says on what she does collect and you will do well. Follow her rules and she grades easy.
She is by far the best teacher I have ever had. Concepts were explained clearly and she genuinely cares that her students are learning. The only reason she gets negative comments is because she is a very very picky grader and has a high threshold for an A . (You can decide if this a good or bad thing.) Avoid if you want to maximize your gpa.
She's a good teacher: fun and enthusiastic, however she likes to take points off on h/w's, quizzes or tests for skipping steps or writing not clearly enough.
Just finished Mrs. V class. By far the most dedicated teacher I've ever had. You definitely have to work hard just to pass her class, but no regrets.
Teaches and grades pretty hard. She does want you to do well tho. Your really gonna have to study on your own. a typical math teachter. Not the best, not the worst. Homework is on the test. Some of the h/w is graded. You get a week to turn it in. Good luck!
She is a great and caring teacher. Will help you understand any and all math problems. I'm not that good at math and she was very very helpful in this class.
She is a good teacher. She instructs well. Her tests are straight forward and not "complicated". Assigns quizzes weekly, attendance mandatory, hw assigned but not collected. Homework sheets she pass out are only thing collected. Nice and helpful! TAKE HER!
Her classes are really hard. She easily take off points for smallest errors. You have to work hard to pass this class with good grade, but it's POSSIBLE! I just finished her class and it is the first time I learned math so well! Never before, I felt like understanding math so clearly.
She takes a lot of points if you don't do the works the way she likes it. She has quiz every meeting, but they are so helpful. Do the homeworks. If you have mistakes in quiz, study them and memorize the right steps to do in the exam. I still got a+ from her, she's a good math teacher, just work hard
It's obvious that she's a dedicated teacher. I just think her standards are a little too high......
I have never learned so much in a math class before. Thick accent, but still understandable.
Useless, cant explain, sometimes confusing, even she drop the lowest midterm and quiz, still couldnt help a lot.. coz she simply think most students shouldnt get "A"
I got a D- in Mrs. V class. But you know what? I am proud of that D- because I know it means something, more than a A in some Mickey Mouse class. In fact, the final exam (which I also got a D- on) is attached on the fridge in my parents' home. When their friends visit, that's the first thing they point out. Thank you Mrs. V for that wonderful D-.
Avoid. If you're not someone who is proficient in mathematics, or likes mathematics, then you should avoid this teacher. She will go very fast, and if you express a need for a slower pace, by some crazy logic she will attempt to re-explain what she just said at an even faster rate. Just avoid this teacher. Save yourself the struggle, and avoid her
I would definitely take another class with her again. She can talk really fast, but if you're willing to do what it takes to keep up with her then you will appreciate it. You will also learn a lot. She expects you to understand what you're doing and not just apply the same solution patterns over and over. That can make tests harder for some people.
I'll admit that her class was tough for me. Tests were hard, homework was time-consuming, and she likes to call out people to answer questions. She has a funny accent which makes the class laugh sometimes. Overall, I earned a B and I wouldn't recommend her if you want a good grade. However, I did learn a lot from her.
Hard quizzes, tests, hard to understand, and hard to survive. But somehow I survived, cuz I am," So far, so good." Her class is hard, but if you do the homework, you will learn in her class, and get a decent grade.
She is ridiculously exacting in her grading standards, that's why she is not as well received as others. She knows the material better than I know the back of the hand. Whoa, I just noticed a cut near my thumb!
shes REALLY knows her stuff. its funny whenever she picks on students and goes close to them, but she just wants the students to know great mathematics. very clear on every notes we take, but dont be afraid to ask her what you dont understand. quizzes every fridays, but it really helps. test are like the quizzes. overall: great TEACHER.
She is really dedicated herself in class. I think she is pretty good but her accent is a little hard to understand for alien students..oh she is kind but according to her lecture she doesnt indicate the where important are you need to find it by yourself.
She is a caring teacher and she's very dedicated to her teaching. Although she may be hard to understand at times due to her slight accent, this class is fairly manageable if you take notes, do hw, and study a little. And she does expect her student to know the fundamental materials.
One of the few math teachers at De Anza who actually TEACHES. Mrs. V catches a lot of flack cuz of her accent and the fact her class is demanding. I loved her class though and plan to take Math 49a with her.
i keep coming to this class, and never missed her class but i still got a B-. She gives a lot of homework and quiz, her test is difficult. she would take point off if we didn't do the problem according what she wants
This teacher is nice, but lectures aren't too great. She rushes a lot and does not clarify enough. Her grading is very strict, if you don't provide answers the way she wants it, she could take full points off. She is a teacher that will make this class harder than it really is.
she sucks at teaching students who only care about their grade
I took her for trigonometry. She gives homework everyday but she doesn't check it. She only checks assignments that are given every other week. I felt that I was able to learn a lot in her class, but I also felt she went too fast at times. Just pay attention in lecture and do you homework and you'll do fine.
Very straight forward teacher. Explains the material and does numerous examples. Assigns alot of homework but if you actually do it, you should do well in her class. What I like best about Ms V is that its clear that she loves to teach math. Demands that you show all steps but once you know what she's looking for, you're less like to make mistakes
Has an accent that makes it difficult to understand. She is a fairly nice person and is willing to help but cannot understand students questions well. If you take her prepare for learning on your own and possibly tutoring. Hardly passed even though I was there almost everyday.
She makes algebra simple and easy to understand despite her accent. Collects homework given on a separate sheet once every two weeks. Low stress class. To pass her class with a decent grade do the homework assigned from the text as well. This is a fairly manageable class.
Very good at explaining Trig. Teaches theory then lots of examples. Always starts class with HW problems that are troublesome. Accent is fine, totally understandable. Recommend!
Extremely picky grader and really unclear. however, she's organized and gives quiz every week
She certainly knows her craft, but can only teach her class to someone in a dedicated math major. If you are not in engineering or anything math, do not take this class. More than half of her class dropped out, which is never a good sign. Very unapproachable and not understanding. Her class rules are law and cannot be debated. Read your book a lot.
She is very unclear and conservative. If we don't do in her way, she will take points off. Anyway, she still gives chances and one extra credit quiz to improve your points.
I took her Math 1B class during the spring quarter. Her explanations were very clear and she gave good notes to refer back to. Exams were a little hard and she gave us opportunities to correct two problems we felt we did the worst on. I learnt a lot from this class and hope to take her again.
If you take this class, you better bring a giant bottle of water because you're gonna get worn out from all the notes you'll be taking. While she does drop your lowest test and 2 quizzes, if you aren't even the slightest bit specific, say goodbye to your grade. She'll take points off for not answering a question she never even asked.
Strict. Follows her sets rules. You have to be very committed to this class, as she continuously tells her students that you need to dedicate at least 2 hours a day. She tests your knowledge with difficult questions on tests. She sets you up for success, but you have to truly work. You do learn, but not quick enough for some. Don't get lazy!!
I'm a fast learner and ppl in my class weren't, so it was too slow paced for me, but she's perfect for ppl who need things thoroughly explained. HW and quizzes are all online, due weekly, easy to follow along w/ book. Tests 3 midterms, she drops lowest score (not including final). I learned more on my own, but she's a good teacher bc she cares.
