She is one of the best profs I had. She stimulates interest and answers questions clearly. I took personal finance as my second finance course and learnt a lot more than expected. Office hours are very helpful too.

I totally recommend this course and the professor was very enthusiastic. I did my own taxes this year for the first time. Make sure to do the book examples, solutions are posted in a spreadsheet which is great to check your work. Case assignment was easy but needs work.

Althiugh I wasn't a big fan of this course at first, she ran the class and taught it so well that it got me hooked. Nothing beats a good prof, not even a good textbook.

This prof is fair and reasonable, and she explains the topics well. Finance courses are not my strength as I am in accounting but this can be a useful course to take overall. Exams are clear with review sessions before so u know what to expect. You need to attend the class to get the quiz marks though. I recommend it for 3rd or 4th year.

Excellent class.

I took the course to learn personal finance and it really helped. The slides are clear and course structure was followed throughout. The assignment was very close to home since we actually did a real mortgage and refinancing case. I would recommend the course for sure.

I took FIN300 and I can say she is the best prof out there by far!! FIN300 is a really tough course but if you see her in office hours she will give you so much extra help. If you can take any class with her, go for it because she is probably the best prof. I have had at Ryerson.

Professor Samarbakhsh saved me from failing the class. She's always extremely clear with her explanations and tries to relate it to real world examples as well. During break times if you go up to her and ask questions she'll explain everything extremely thoroughly. If possible, definitely try to get into her class!

I found her a great lecturer. Our class was usually packed and we had students dropping in from other sections. Finance isn't an easy course but if you do the problems and the lyryx labs you find the exams (and the course) fairly graded.

Fin 300 is a hard course itself but Laleh gave a lot of help through the way. She explains things clearly. But practising the questions at the end of each chapter is a MUST!! Do lyryx labs and practice questions every week and keep up! It gets hectic and you don't want to cram everything in last minute. Learn you calculator, makes life easier!

Amazing professor! If you go to her during office hours she would explain your questions in a very clear and understandable way. Her lectures and practice problems are very helpful for midterms and the finals. Wish I could take all my finance courses with her!

Good professor. She knows what shes talking about. She goes over examples and makes a good effort in taking baby steps to new concepts which is always really helpful. Her powerpoints are quiet helpful. I skipped many lectures and still managed to get a B+ in the course. She can get a little boring but I would definitely recommend her! Good prof::)

Her tests are difficult, as the whole subject is difficult. Ultimately, it is one of the subjects that afterwards you need to work at it to get it. Still, she makes it easy to understand and tries to prepare you as best she can. Best finance prof there is. She's super friendly and gives real life examples and advice.

Her lectures were amazing! It definitely helped me prepare for the midterm, labs, and final. The midterm and final were quite complex, so make sure you practice! She will definitely go over things if you ask her to clarify. I highly recommend getting into her class!

She's really approachable and you can tell is passionate about finance. Her lectures are really helpful as she always goes over examples as a class. She even helps with the calculator. If you do the work and go to class, you'll be fine! I found the midterm harder than the final. You should def take her if you can!

FIN300 has this stigma of being a really difficult course. To be honest, as long as you know how to use your calculator and do weekly Lyryx labs, you'll get by well. Laleh sure helped me ace the course. Sure, she does read off the powerpoints, but she's super helpful in guiding you on what to focus and she knows what she's talking about. Recommend!

Laleh is not as superb as I thought she would be. She's like most profs in finance. She reads off slides and barely shows us how to use the calculator. Seeing her in the office wouldn't make much of a difference. She has the attitude of "get in, get out." She's a nice person but that's about it. Better for you to learn on your own or find tutors

She is the best prof I had in Finance. Don't expect to pass if you don't put the effort in, but if you go to her lectures and follow the material you will do well in the tests. She is quite fair with everyone and I found her office hours pretty helpful. She does help with Finance jobs/career and guides on interviews and such. Would take her again.

Laleh is very knowledgeable with deep sense of financial markets. She gives lots of real world examples. Plus, she is very resourceful about career opportunities in Finance. If you are a good student you can get good references from her, which is a bonus. Need to go to class to get good notes on the slides. Overall, highly recommend!

She is very helpful and clear. Her slides and material are well organized. No doubt you have to work hard in this course but the midterm and final exam are very fair. Took my first Fonance course with her and she was amazing. The assignments are long but if you complete them you get a good idea of the midterm and final exam. The exams were fair and no surprises. The course was well-structured and she answers questions clearly. Use the office hours, she is very helpful.

Difficult course but the prof teaches well. Need to attend the class to see examples and notes. Final exam is fair. Assignments need work but helps learn the material better so make sure you know all the assignments. Would take her again.

Take notes of her example she does in her class, and read and practice any material she posts. Assignment may be complex but its manageable and fair, you dont even have to read the textbook to do well. Just put in the hard work and youll definitely get easy A, there is absolutely no tricks in her class. Class may be boring, but its worth going to.

Laleh gives clear explanation on the topics and has organized powerpoint slides. She does make sure every student understand the lecture and goes over many examples. Attend the lectures especially the prep sessions for midterm and final.

Gives superduper helpful review classes! Midterm and final were exactly like the mock exams she gives out.. know how to do your Excel and easy A! (But, you are forced to read the Textbook and do online hmwk on the content, and not all of it is tested, which I feel is a bit unnecessary to read then)

Laleh explains concepts very well in lectures and provides slides with examples clear to follow. AFF 210 is one of the hardest courses and she teaches material with depth and technical skills. I have used Excel so much in my co-op placement and all I learnt is from her course. A real gem, definitely take if you want to be competitive in job market.

Laleh is a great professor if you have some sort of background in finance. She will provide some examples in class, but she usually teaches the concepts and formulas more. She also teaches a bit on the calculator, but not much. I found her teaching style to be effective for me, but definitely not for everyone.

Laleh is one of the profs who still care about students. She is there to help you, if you have any questions or doubts she will do whatever she can to make sure you understand it. She goes over important topics in class so class attendance is important. Make sure you go to class, listen to her and practice.

Midterm was easy final was a nightmare.... make sure you do well on the midterm and the labs (for the labs looks at view an example makes your life so much more easier). Learn how to use the calculator and focus on her slides and questions she emphasizes for the midterm. For final, i have no words its was ridiculously tough but its notLaleh's fault

For starters, great presenter. Clearly outlines the course material through her lectures. Be sure to attend and be attentive. Lots of clues given out as to possible questions on the Midterm/Final. Laleh is a great prof who knows her material well. Her lecture styles are decent and not too complicated, she always goes through excel practices in class, which come up on the problem sets, midterm, and final. Make sure you attend her review sections and practice those problem sets, and you will be all set for this course.

Lectures can get boring due to it being finance but her lectures were helpful with examples! She put a couple of the same exact questions from the practice midterm on the actual midterm which was awesome. The final though..... was horrendous but not her fault.

FIN300 is definitely not an easy pass class, you will need to go to class and actually pay attention. Laleh gives good relateable examples in class and is willing to help you if you have any questions. She cares and is very knowledgeable and does not make you feel dumb and explains concepts well enough for you to understand!

I had Laleh for our MBA Finance course and she was amazing. The course built the foundations for Finance and she gave very useful lectures and Excel training. She is quite helpful during office hours and the exams were fair. Attend the review sessions.

The material learned is similar to AFF310 (which I didn't like), however, with Prof. Laleh, she made AFF420 really easy to understand. I wish she taught more courses. Her exams are very fair; they're similar to problems done in class and on the previous exams. She's also very friendly when you ask questions, and is a lenient marker. She's the best
