He is very narrow minded and extremely difficult. He only covered 2 chapters in the book but tested us on 6 chapters.

He talks too much and so fast that its hard to follow him! He expects you to know as much as he does about history when, for some people, this is a first history class!!!

It was my first day in his class today, and I already hate him. The title of the course is Civil Rights, but I think he's renamed to Let's Bash Bush. I HATE PROFESSORS' BIASES!!!!!!! I hate you YEAKEY!

If you want to learn nothing, read a lot and still get a B take yeakey. Worst professor I have ever had in 7 years.

He made our UNDERGRADUATE class read nine books. Late every day. Stole our break from us every day. Promised to let us out early, but never did. a jerk in every way. avoid or suffer.

Somthing is really wrong with this person. I dont know what it is but he always arrived to class late but never left early. He had a lot of trouble staying on point and I think he is off. He just cant keep to the point. I am from another country were we dont do this so I am not going to say the class becuase he may find out.I have him next quarter.

hated this quarter becasue his grading policy was ridiculus and dependent on his mood and whether he liked you or not. first day he took role and wanted to know everyones race, for what who knows? his class is a waste of time and energy. you can breeze by if you show up and just listen to lecture pretty common sense stuff. HORRIBLE TEACHER!! rambles on and on. Give back quizzes, mid-term, and outlines extremely late. He requires a book report which usually has to do with Bush bashing. Lectures have nothing to do with the readings. Requires 4 books, but you only end up using 2 books. Always late and ends up keeping the class after the given time.

If you take this class, I guarantee you getting an A is almost impossible.... but if you will take this class, I WISH YOU LUCK. because luck will be only thing that you'll need to pass the class..

This is the kind of prof that will go off on subjects that will not matter and expect you to know everything. You will spend 6 weeks on reconstruction and 30 minutes on 1930's to present. This class should be called african american studies instead of US history.

He is the worst professor I have ever had! He is late 15 min. and he goes on out-of-control tangents, wastes time and then makes students suffer for his lack of professionalism. He took three weeks to return our midterms, and he failed to show up for the final. He really needs to retire..he's horrible and you will suffer if you take him-He's Awful!!!

Disrespectful and replies sarcastically to students. Teaches with his back to the class. Lists on average three to five chapter readings per week at about 40 pages per chapter. Of the three books he told us to buy and read he only tested us on one of them. Waste of money. Waste of Time.

i failed the midterm and i dont know how i did on the final and i dont know how i did on the paper but i got a C and i didnt do anything but a good job on the paper. u need the book for the weekly quizzes and for the homework or extra crdit cause he makes u do outlines. he's mean in class he called a girl student fat! dont take him hes horrible

This guy is so unorganized it is ridiculous. Had to push back the midterm several weeks last minute. The whole class grade relies only on how well you do on the midterm, final, and research paper. Hes one of those guys who tries to be funny but is not, he ends up being offensive and usually gets into an argument with a student. He takes roll too.

This is the worst professor ever! He made us buy 8 different books, lectured on NONE of them (C'mon, we're all broke college students here!),yet still expected us to know all the information for tests. He is ALWAYS late to class, very unorganized, and very close-minded. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!

I took his Civil Rights Movement course and was severely dissapointed. He himself is very knowledgable teacher but does not convey these concepts in the least. He is always late, always on tangents, and never follows the syllabus. Furthermore, he never references the majority of the readings he assigns. I highly reccomend avoiding him.

The topic of the course is interesting. However, the way he presents his lectures are unorganized. His exams are extremely hard.He is often late to class and forgets where he left off. He expects you to know the material as well as he does. I would avoid him at all cost if possible.

Never on time, not helpfull at all, goes off topic all the time, nearly eight books to read and take daily notes which are useless, seems like an unexperienced professor. You will be less stressed and have a better chance of passing the class if you read the books go to class during mid-terms and finals.

To all Freshman: Avoid this teacher. I also took this class during my 1st quarter and I regret it everyday of my life. He was the 1 of 2 C's I have ever gotten in 3 yrs with straight A's in college, which means something. If he is teaching, WAIT NEXT QUARTER! His understanding of Ethnic Studies is shallow. He is unorganized, not prepared for class, does not teach from the textbook and is always 20 to 25 minutes late for class

WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! Do not get this teacher. I memorized the definitions from the book and when it came down to the quizzes and tests he gave each of them 1.5-2.0 out of 5! When I asked what exactly we should study he wouldnt even help he just said look at the syllabus. Would not help me. We were 3 weeks behind and his lectures were irrelevant

This guy expects the students to know everything and when you don't give him the answer he is looking for he will put you on the spot. He always puts students on the spot. Terrible professor. We are behind and he is not specific when it comes to studying. Way to much reading. Grades harshly. Don't get this professor. You will regret it.

He's very knowledgeable and knows what he's teaching, he goes off on a tangent, doesn't really teach until a week before the midterm. Gives extensions. I dropped this class after two days, and it was the most uncomfortable class I have ever been in in my last 6 years of college. He is quite possibly the most racist and off-tangent teacher I ever had. Avoid him at all costs. I need this class to graduate (I'm a senior) and I'd rather drop him than stay.

I've never written a review on a professor but I must say this class has been the least productive class I've taken. I learned nothing really. Professor was not once on time. Cancelled class 2 times. Just very disorganized. I hate writing bad about people but I would not recommend this professor.

He spends 90% of the class time off topic and then expects us to learn everything through the reading. Might as well not take the class, just read the books.

The worst class I've ever taken. He was 4 weeks behind on lecturing but then expects you to be on top of all the readings that are unrealistic to keep up with. He does not curve grades and is a tough grader. Don't buy CDs and Don't try to study using people's history. Will be the most frustrating class you'll ever have, even if you try.

I just wouldn't take him. He's a tough grader. He quizzes you a lot and expects you to keep up with the reading without him telling you what to read. He doesn't give you a heads up on what's going to be on the quiz which makes it even more difficult. Very unorganized!

if you somehow HAVE to take him here are a few tips: READ BOTH BOOKS HE ASSIGNS (don't buy the recordings). Quizzes are usually multiple choice & short answer. Know basic history like the amendments, the great depression, slavery, industrialization. He will pick on you to answer random questions while lecturing so be prepared. DO EXTRA CREDIT!

He is honestly so unorganized, and always gets off topic. He taught us 2 chapters throughout the whole semester & expected us to know all the chapters in two history books. He starts the class late because he gets there late and also lets everyone out late. He is really smart but does not know how to teach.

I definitely would not take his class again. His lectures are very boring. He requires to many texts and a CD. He is not clear on his grading. He expects you to memorize exact dates from the readings. For the test he has a 2 sections multiple choice and an essay. I really recommend you all to not take his class you will be confused all the time.

Worst Teacher ever, The professors is very unorganized, he does nothing digital, everything is handwritten. Lectures are inconsistent with the syllabus! they don't relate to the exams! Also he tends to give quiz the last 10 mins of class not giving you enough time. The final exam is 100 questions plus 5 short answer essays! Rude & Egocentric!

Please save your GPA & AVOID him at all costs. First, the amount of $$ you will spend on the "required" text is ridiculous & Unnecessary. He is so unorganized and will spend forever on unnecessary topics. I spent the 1st 3 weeks of class on the definition of history. Blames you for being behind schedule when its his fault.

Repeated the same lecture 4 times. I went to his office hours 5 times, never there. I finally made an appointment with him, still didn't show up. He assigns five books to read; this is a GE class >:/. I had to get out, it was mid October. I consider myself a good student but this dude is something else. Highly recommend you do not take this class with him, his grading system is unclear. Readings somewhat help, lectures are no good and repetitive. No idea of what my grade is while it's basically the end of the semester. Does not use visual aids or slides presentations for lectures. You may not be using all books he requires for class.

I highly recommend that you don't take any class with Yeakey as the professor. His lectures are repetitive&have nothing to do with the topics he tests us on. He makes comments that'll make you uncomfortable&was weeks behind on the syllabus. He'll blame you for not knowing something he did not teach&is overall unprofessional. Do NOT take his class!!

AVOID AT ALL COST! I currently have him during online learning and he is not tech-savvy at all! We are almost 2 months into the semester and have had no quizzes&have only spoken about native americans. He is always late, can become rude and aggressive, and makes inappropriate comments. I'm afraid I'm going to fail- save yourself while you can!!!!!!

I am currently taking him for online classes and out of all the professors, His class is not enjoyable for 2 months straight no assignments or quizzes and all of a sudden he's giving out quizzes back to back weeks and you have to read all his books that he assigns literally comes late to class and does not know how to post assignments online

Took this class on zoom during covid. He talks fast (for 3 hours, with no break) and gives no hint at what to take notes on, then adds lecture qs in the midterm/final. Class always went over by 15-30 mins. NEVER responds to emails. Made the book report due a week sooner 2 weeks out. Said he would give study guides for exams but never did.

If you have any choice; dont take his class. I took it online. He doesnt consider you really even in attendance of class unless your camera is on. We took our midterm and quizzes LIVE ON PAPER WHICH WE HAD TO UPLOAD WITHIN THE TIME GIVEN TO TAKE THE TEST ITSELF. He did let you email him it if need be but who knows when hell grade it IF he will..

Poor teaching skills. Spoke off topic where i was unable to learn anything. Made me feel uncomfortable and made uncomfortable comments about my appearance and who I was.

Where to start, this professor does not provide teaching aids, gives poor study guides, and goes on constant tangents. 3 books at the same time, and we are expected to memorize everything from each. Quizzes are given barely any time, emailing does not help as he gives no response, shows up to class late, and makes uncomfortable remarks. Big yikes.

AVOID if possible! Took his class this semester and almost half the class withdrew, that should really tell you something. Your camera must be on in order to be present, study guides are not helpful, required to read 3 books at once, quizzes are live and gives you little time to complete. Simply unorganized! Didnt care about his students success!

The worst professor on this campus. Has tenure so the school will not do anything, but any professor is better than him or take the other option for the block! His class is interesting, but he has a temper, gets off track, cannot seem to stick to any schedule, and, worst of all, is just plain inconsistent. Do not take this professor if you need require structure. You will receive none here. More than half of the class has stopped showing up.

Tons of reading per week, several chapters, each chapter is 20-30 pages, using 2 or 3 different books. Doesn't use textbooks nor assigns homeworks. Rude. Doesn't allow phones in class. Horrible professor.
