Good Teacher
Wonderful Prof, teaches step by step, easy to understand, easy assignments, very lenient marker.

excellent prof, teaches very clearly, is very helpful and is one of the most friendliest profs at ryerson.
Not very good at all. What happened??? She started off so well and just ended up showing up late, and reading from the textbook. Your better off just learning the stuff on your own.
this prof makes me consider leaving civil eng, i dun wanna havta take her again enxt semester, all she does it show up late, read from the text and solution manual. if a student asks a semi-intelligent questions she gets stumped and pauses the class for 30 min to talk with 1 student. learn on ur own
Bad at teaching****
i love it when she says : DID I MAKE A BOO BOO..........LOOOOOOOOOOOL. She is a good professor, easy marker and very helpful. She is very smart btw, check her award history in civil engineering field. You'll be surprised.
Come to her class on time and prepared to learn or face her wrath!!! Needs to write more stuff on the blackboard.
the worst teacher you will ever have, doesn't deserve to be called a professor, you actually become dumber going to her lectures
She is good, helpful, strict and this may not be satisfactory to the students
She doesn't know what she's doing, she's unable to answer the student's questions, she makes up tests which she cannot answer them herself
She is good, smart, tough, but helpfull. She would do everything to help students.

horrible
she is the worst teacher ever and she lowered my mark from an A to a B- after she put it on blackboard
she speaks too quickly...hard to understand at times
I had the impression that she doesn't keep up with the literature. The laboratory portion of the course was badly prepared. She is often rude to students. She seems incapable of reading from her own slide show, which is the extent of her teaching, and is apparently blissfully unaware how appalling her teaching performance is. Stay away.
she has an attitude , she doesnt know how to teach worst professor(teacher) ever in my life. If you ask her too many questions she get annoyed at you, and will lower your grade from A to B
One of the worst teachers to ever be in ryerson. You become dumber going to the course and is a complete waste of time to try to ask a question because all you will getis 20 minutes of off-topic un-interting jibberish
She is good in general, but she is undertaking many resposibilities, and that make her lose control over the courss she gives. She is friendly and nice to students.
SHE WAS NICE IN HER CLASS....SHE IS VERY HELPFUL FOR 1ST YEAR ENGINEERING STUDENTS...
The most dense, assinine, delusional tweit I have ever had the displeasure of witnessing. Her class is a spectacle of ill prepared, kitschy refuse that wouldn't be attended by anyone in their right mind if it wasn't marked for attendance. Avoid if possible, RUN don't walk.
The quality of this one teacher makes me question my choice of Ryerson University. She should be removed from teaching at this school.
Reads off the power points in the class. Tries to reword them...fails...reads the slide word-by-word....repeats. However, when you talk to her individually you can find her kinda helpful.
Useful till the point that she get stressed out, then truly one of the most rude professors I have had.
Do attend lectures for the clicker marks. And also, the lectures she does come on this small quiz that will happen in the tutorial near the end of the semester. If you have a great TA, then the assignments should be easy. Do the projects on time since there are many TA's with different marking styles. The prof. is nice in person, I hear.
She's so sweet if you get to know her! I was scared to take the class reading all the bad comments, but I got to know her and she's so down to earth and sweet! Love the woman
during lectures she is an average prof, and people may find her rude. if you meet with her outside of class she is very helpful and kind
Not very helpful. Her presentation is very weak
Weak presentation. Not so helpful and approachable.
Well she is that good, and her presentations are not so well presented. I expected to learn about engineering but she just makes it boring. She makes students do the exam questions but I think she makes her own. She is rude, and always late in her appointments. Clicker questions sometimes had nothing to do with what was on power-points.
Useless prof, wastes class time on telling people to leave if late, on phones, etc. Doesn't teach, has others come in and do it for her. Powerpoints suck. Her final exam read like it was written by a grade nine and edited by a grade 5. Find someone to take your iclicker for you. Do go to the tutorials. Otherwise, avoid at all costs.
Just read out the power point slides. Not very helpful and approachable. The major part of the grades depend upon the GA.
Horrible lecturer. Just read out the common sense power point slides. Does not respond to any emails or attempt to resolve issues. Currently resolving an issue with my grade and she hasn't responded to 6 separate emails in the last 3 months.
Very rarely responds to emails, and if she does, it takes forever for her to reply. She was late for an appointment that I booked, and I had grade problems with her.
Mandatory attendance and clicker questions that have nothing to do with the lecture topic. Avoid if possible. Lectures are boring, and extend for what feels like forever.
Worst professor i had in first year. Extremely unclear with her assignments and when you email her, you get a half assed reply which makes absolutely no sense.
She's very hard to understand. Her lectures were her failing at rewarding each slide. Attendance is annoying since it fails all the time and class supervisors wont help. A good class to go to and catch up on some sleep.
CEN is a stupid class in general, but Dr. Amleh really makes it that much worse. The questions on Top Hat are often irrelevant and poorly thought out. Frequently, there is more than one correct answer. However, if you're good in groups you'll pass and get a good grade. Also, she's really strict about attendance and other silly things.
Cant assemble a proper multiple choice question. Often for the in class top hat questions, every answer was correct and you just had to hope you picked the "correct" correct answer. Same problem on her exam. For the most part, every multiple choice question had four different wordings of the correct answer as the options.
She won't really be teaching the intro to eng course since it is mostly speakers but when she does she is pretty bad. Her lectures are unnecessarily long for topics that could be covered in 5 minutes and you have to do the top hat questions. Difficult to get in touch with and barely accommodates. Luckily the course is simple despite bad lectures.
Please DONT SKIP THE LECTURES. I got A and A+ on all my assignments AND final exam yet failed the course because I missed more than four lectures.
Dont bother emailing her, she wont respond. Make an appointment with her if you need to talk with her. Also, I personally loved her presentation skills.
She is literally the worst prof I had in first semester. The class itself is an absolute waste of time. Since lectures mainly have guest speakers, she leaves the class and doesn't come back. When she does teach, she reads off her ppt and sounds incredibly unprepared and boring. This course is mandatory to take, but the assignments are fairly easy.
Hasn't contacted me back for an examination conflict I have, and attendance is mandatory. If you miss more than 4 then you fail the waste of a class. "Teaches" the most useless class in all of first year engineering
What can I say? She often tells you to turn off your laptops during lectures. Well, some students need them to take notes. She could use a sense of humor to keep the class more engaged and enticed to come to lectures.
good luck don't forget to do the academic integrity quizzes
Please don't take a class with her if you can. Her class is waste of time. And at the end you will come up with a bad mark in your transcript. IN both graduate and undergraduate level, she is useless.
Honestly if you're a fair student, attend classes and are respectful, you will get the same back. I have had tough situations where she has helped me through even though I was at fault. Just go to her talk to her and don't be a stranger
You might actually get a good mark with her depending of your TA, but YOU WILL NOT LEARN ANYTHING. I must honestly say, this class was truly a waste of time. Oh and she will never reply to your emails so don't even bother.
Seems like a good (busy) person, but hell if I'm about to waste my time on another course akin to CEN100. Keep the tutorials, get rid of the lectures, or maybe the mandatory attendance.
Doesn't return marks till december. The classes are almost all lectures from other profs in the school, she either doesn't show up to class or slowly backs towards the door and leaves class.
Worst experience ever. Your grade depends on your TA, your Matlab partner (15%), your Disasters CEN group (5-6 people) (15%) and your Reverse CEN group (10-12 people) (25%). Attendance is 10% of your grade but if you miss more than 6 classes you fail the course. My final is in a few days and I still do not know if I'm failing or passing this course
probably my worst experience in ryerson
bad just bad. worst prof ever. tas are garbage and the final exam was bs
She is not a top professor. The course is easy and the power point slides are good. She does contradicts at times the power points, which confuses students. The group projects are interesting, however they do require lots of time. Make sure you start early on them. If you do well in projects, Matlabs and you participate in class, you pass
Good prof teaching mostly teenagers fresh from high school and dont understand what university education is. Course is student's first exposure to engineering and lots of students still expect to be spoon fed like high school. Some students don't even attend classes. Guys, get your acts together. This is university. It's different from high school
She is one of those professors who really puts her time and effort to help you succeed. She knows the ins and outs of university life and can really help you if you are having trouble. Make sure to approach her if you have any questions and go to her office. For those of you going into university for the first time, good luck and all the best.
Worst professor ever.
Course is completely useless, lectures have nothing to so with tutorials and tutorials are where the marks come from. When people say you learn nothing from a course they are probably exaggerating, this is one of those cases where you literally learn nothing.
Omg! She is my favorite teacher!! She is so sweet and I love her so much! The best person ever!! But I have a complaint! She has two people to monitor us during lectures! They are so creepy and rude! They will tell you to shut up even if you just whisper! You cant even ask your friend a question!! Thats not fair! No other teacher does that! Omg!!
Horrible. There's no other word to sum up this course, prof and TAs. Just awful.
Lectures are painful. Reads from slides. Tutorials are unrelated to lectures but that's where your marks come from. Mandatory attendance is the absolute worst - but course in mandatory for Engineering. Put up with this course, make a little effort, and you'll get good marks.
CEN would have been a lot more tolerable if Amleh attended class herself but apparently her presence is not included in her salary contract.
Horrible professor. The course is an absolute waste of time. Attendance is mandatory but honestly if you suffer through this course and put some effort into it, you can get a good mark.
Dont know why there's so much negativity towards her, legit CEN is a class where you can just sleep and pass if you do the iclickers and the assignments. Shes not even the one grading our work, the TA is. Just listen in class (or act like you are), dont show up 30 mins late, and you'll get an A+ in this class. Bird course if you ask me.
got A+ in all my other courses and suffered for it, and here i get B+ without getting my exam mark. The amount of ignorance in the one who put the exam questions is alarming. GAs LITERALLY guess ur mark never reading ur work, and tell u this is uni, it goes hard like this. Here u lose marks without knowing why. In short, class ismade to destroy GPA
Half the lectures were done by other people she had come in to teach. Most of the learning you do in the class happens during the lab period with the TA. And when she does teach she either reads off the slides or goes off topic. But this is a class that takes attendance so you have to show up or fail the course. Would not recommend.
asked her to reconsider a mark for me and she did it fairly, may be she is helpful but you just need to reach out to her
The most useless class known to man but it's mandatory for engineering and participation counts. TAs monitor the room and they kick you out for stupid reasons. The prof says it's distracting to other students when we whisper but it's more distracting watching students and TAs get into arguments during the lectures. Just sayin
easy class if you pay attention
Well, the lecture material is too boring but this prof makes it even worse! (Btw you don't have another prof choice for CEN100) The only good part is the projects where you get familiar with researching and work in a group in tutorials. And you have to show up in the lectures unless you don't care about 15% participation.
cant even show up to teach her own class. good thing you only have to tolerate her for 2 hours a week
This is a hard course to get students to engage with. Despite the dry material and emphasis of ideas that are arguably common sense, Dr. Amleh and the guest lecturers did a decent job of conveying their point. I found her to be approachable and enthusiastic. The curriculum for this course needs a serious overhaul though.
Her slides are bad. Her lectures is her pretending not to read from the slides but she reads everything from her slides. In the final exam you have to study from over 900 slides. She does not respond to your emails or she responds very late. The course is not organized and barely talks about its subject matter, Renovation.
Probably the wort teacher since school was invented. Boring , Sucks at teaching and horrible personality and responsibility. This is probably the worst class i've ever been in.
despite the current rating, she isn't a bad prof. she doesn't do all of the lectures since she brings in people qualified to talk about each type of engineering. it's not that she's lazy it's that that's how the course is designed. of the lectures she does do, they can be boring but she does at least try to make them interesting or funny.
CEN100 is poorly organized and was a source of weekly dread. Guest speakers were often interesting but also cancelled with suspicious frequency. Decorum in the lecture hall quickly broke down. People talked constantly and in a room that large filled with 18 year olds, order is hard to maintain to say the least. Get ready to sigh. Please don't talk.
Worst professor ever
Awful. No structure at all. I dont even know what Im learning. She just makes us critique papers every week. The labs are labs weve done in previous courses. The lectures are just her pretending like shes not reading from the slides. Unfortunately you have no choice but to take her. Goodluck.
Amleh's a prof that gets the job done, neither exceedingly well or poorly. She doesn't do a whole lot to make the class entertaining, she's alright at speaking but lectures were relatively lacklustre, but that's not entirely her fault. The course itself, on the whole, is a relatively free course. Just show up, do your clickers and bail.
She taught me to respect women for 1 hour a week
She was vaping in one class (prob forgot her camera was on). She takes in consideration of your problems with other courses. Never went to lectures but went to the last 20 mins of class to do iclickers. The iclickers basically tested my RNG in life and the questions can be answered based on logic.
CEN100 is one of the easiest courses you'll ever take as a Ryerson Engineering student. Dr. Amleh's lectures may not be applicable sometimes to your daily life/career, but hey. An easy A is an easy A.
She reads off slides but the course was easy and exam marks are given easily so take advantage
Didn't really teach, she just brought in guest speakers every week. Really considerate and listens to your concerns however she's always really busy bc she's running the show.
CEN100 is an easy pass, a joke of a course. She doesn't even teach, she just brings in speakers to talk to the class while she mutes her mic. You're blessed if u get a good TA/PM.
This class is something you put on the back burner but some classes she talks for 2 mins max and lets guests speakers carry the lecture.
In order to rate a professor's teaching ability, some amount of teaching has to take place... there was no teaching that took place: at least not from Dr. Amleh. For this course specifically (CEN100), get ready to listen to guest speakers during EVERY SINGLE LECTURE. The work is easy, but there is zero teaching present. Complete joke of a course.
Had fun
The only reason I liked attending was to see them few beautiful shorties. The class was like 1 million students and 25 girls (Maximum number). Of course, the super sweaty nerdy smelly simps made it hard to socialize with the girls because those simps had wedding rings already and ready to marry. Now, that's an alpha chad move. G'day gamers
Not inclined to be too harsh on Prof. Amleh, since CEN100 is clearly designed as a rubber-stamp course. It wasn't great, but whatever. As others have said it's almost 100% guest lecturers and a bunch of engineering "life skills". So... whatever. Just get it over with and move on.
Dr. Amleh doesn't exactly teach much during CEN100. However, when she does she explains information well enough. The course itself is a complete waste of time and you don't learn anything of value from it.
The only reason she isn't scored lower is because she's rated for CEN100 which is an introductory class where she does nothing. Her doing nothing is better than everything else she tries to do. I learned nothing from her. In fact, I think I lost braincells because of her. I have no idea how she still teaches despite the massive errors she makes.
Generally okay prof. I wish I would have studied from the textbook.
Horrible experience. They had GAs walking around like guards making sure students weren't on their phones or doing other classwork. She would not let you in to the lecture and takes pictures of your ID if you are 5 minutes late. It is a mandatory course, and she is the professor so you really have no choice. Best part about class is when it ends.
Her TA's walk around like Proctors making sure your not on your phone or laptop doing something other than her class they will kick u out if you refuse to put it away. It's like paying to go to highschool
No. as a teaching Prof, she doesnt do much of that. if u manage to speak with her one on one she can give pretty solid advice
This class is chill af all the other reviews are tweakin. You don't even have to show up to class, just do the iclicker from your phone. If you don't have the first class then people can tell you the answers. I was always using the lectures to do work from other classes.
Isn't there 90% of the time and pratically never teaches. There are mostly guest speakers during most of the lectures. Course is very easy though, just make sure you get your clickers done
CEN100 is the most useless course ever!!!!
The utmost useless course you would ever see. Although, make a 100 % sure to study for the finals even if it is useless as it could mess up your total GPA as it did to mine.
Doesn't teach anything useful, and gets guest speakers to do the lecture every week. Easy course though.
Talks a lot, like way too much. Ive never felt so tired or bored from somebodys talking than hers. Otherwise decent, CEN100 is useless anyways.
has more security than TMU itself, unavoidable but eh just do clickers and get the free 10 percent,
Dr Amleh is never actually present for lectures. This doesn't really matter,as the entire course is useless anyways. majority of your grade is iclickers and group projects. This class exists almost entirely to waste your time. During lectures, the TAs roam around like security guards. Very self-righteous and rude people are in charge of this class.
CEN100 is a really useless course. Took up so much time that could've been used to prepare for the actual important courses. Prof Amleh herself doesnt even teach anything, its mostly the GA's and the Guest Speakers. The GA's sucked, the projects and tutorials were useless, the exam was a 150 question hot mess with random q's. Just do ur iclickers.
this class is the civics and careers of first year eng. she's never there, decide if you want to go to class from the course schedule if you're interested in that lecture, if not don't bother and save your time. be prepared to spend hours on some of the tutorials assignments tho, I recommend spacing out the workload bc it adds up around middy szn.
The professor only comes for 2 days the whole semester the rest is guest speakers. Ga's are extremely strict, and patrol the class the entire time. Don't really need to go to the lectures unless you are interested in what is discussed that day. The exam was 150 questions ex. there were riddles and random math questions.
the only professor for this course. just bear her
She berates you for using your phone or talking during lectures like it's high school, and won't let you into the lecture hall if you're late. She is caring if you ask her questions, but is a poor choice other than that. CEN100 isn't lecture dependent at all just go for the iclickers and do the assignments.
such a useless course, literally skipped all lectures and just used iclickers for a higher grade, the exam was pointless and was a waste of two hours. This class is a joke and don't take it seriously, just make sure to get ahead on the assignments, especially for midterm season.
rarely ever shows up to class, mainly guest speakers and when she does show up to class often times breathes over your shoulder and makes you put your phone or laptop away. TAs arent any better
Use this class to study for your important classes. Only attend for iclickers.
Lecture are held online & she tries so hard not to read from the slides that she stutters every other word. There is so much grading criteria in this course, from TermProject, Reading 15 page concrete analysis papers and reviewing them, lab reports from previous years, presentations and more. This class is a waste of time, good luck.
Worst Professor I've ever experienced. Midterm and Final simply tells students to study everything she's taught (12 Lectures with 120+ slides each, paragraphs of words on most slides). Terrible style of teaching, was honestly excited for the class however, she ruined it all. Assignments aren't even useful to the course seems as though its filler.
Rarely shows up to lectures, that are useless anyways. The only reason to attend is for iClickers that can help boost your mark. Has a deep hatred for people using their devices in class where either her or her GA's will berate you and tell you off. The exam was a 150 Q mess which may tank your mark if you're not careful. Beware. Easy class though.
She only is in the lecture on the first day of school but everything else, she isn't there. She is the only CEN100 prof here and her classes are useless. You can literally do anything else in the meantime but there's iClickers at the end.
gets paid to do practically nothing💀 one of the GAs acts like a high school teacher and kicks out people who are 30 min late? we are paying for this class?? the course is easy but sometimes there's too much work for a small percentage, and much of your mark depends on the group members you get. lectures are useless but there is iClicker worth 10%
Shes actually a joke idk how shes leading first year engineering. Never at her own lectures, so its either some useless random public speaker or her minion GAs that dont do anything. Then she gives us some 150 multiple choice final exam with only 2 hours?? Just do good on the projects/assignments and do ur iclickers then ur chilling.
Almost never teaches her own lectures instead having either a guest lecturer or one of her GA minions speaking. Lecture's are almost always nothing burgers. Final exam is 150 questions in 2 hours most of the questions being random trivia facts.
Professor Amleh's CEN100 class is a mixed bag. Lectures are spotty, but iClickers and assignments are the real focus. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for exam prep - better than relying on the textbook alone. Overall, an easy credit if you stay on top of the work.
DUMBASS COURSE. its literally a gpa booster tho so try to do well on the assignments and review a bit for the final so ur mark wont be tanked bc this is the one course u should try to get an easy A or A+ in
Very unavailable and doesn't really do much throughout the semester. Class assignments are long and tedious and the final exam was 150 questions which were mostly random stuff. Didn't learn anything for a supposed intro to engineering class. Easy class tho.
There aren't many lectures with this professor for CEN100 but when there is the lectures are boring
Her lectures were good but this course has different people to talk about different things, so she just have 3 or 4 lecture overall. Also this course was interesting but the final exams was useless as it consists of 150 multiple choice question with general knowledge questions. This exam might cause your grades to go down from A+ to A or A-
U don't rlly get much of a choice on ur prof for this course lol so just tough it out. she never shows up it's always some random presenter. let this course be a gpa boost, it's easy and the exam is just 150 bs questions, extremely similar to past exams. also try to stay on her good side bcs she's the head of the fyeo
She doesn't really do anything as a prof but she's the only one who teaches this course so you have to tough it out. The course itself is fairly easy though you just need to do the work
easy and useless course. prof doesnt do anything.
I think I saw her in about 3 lectures during the semester. The course was easy, super useless and a waste of time. It's very project-heavy so if you get a bad group you're probably cooked. TA was also acting like he had a stick up his bum 24/7 and would constantly think he was the center of attention.
She barely attended a lecture, most of the times it is the TA or guest speaker hosting the lectures. And super boring to listen to, the TAs only give 10-20 sec each iClicker question. Although, this is a super easy course overall and the exam is so BS (did not study for it). Most of the weight are from group assignments and participation.
This course is terrible - you won't learn anything from this. The professor only shows up once or twice, then lets others take over. The tutorial is tough with tons of milestones. The final questions are so random, so just don't study tbh.
The course is not super useful, you do not need to go to the lectures to get a good grade (unless the iclicker i guess). Do good on all the tutorial work, hand in the assignments and it is an gpa booster. The prof herself was not super kind, and she barely showed up, the TA's did all the teaching in the lecture.
I mean, I can't rate this professor as she was never in class. All of the lectures were either hosted by a guest member or their TAs. but when she was in class, nobody liked her because of her attitude. Anyways, my rating is 2/5.
I barely saw her in her lecture.
Absent for 90% of the course.
Most our professors are busy doing administrative work or research. They don't care much about our learning at all. I am not sure if they're really good at research either. Professor Amleh wasn't a great teacher but I heard in upper years we will have even worse.
Terrible she never shows up
Bogus and bad
She's barely a lecturer.
She is too boring for a bingo game at nursing home
This class is all just public speakers and Iclickers which was worth 10% total. The class is easy but very boring.
Prof rarely shows up to lectures, instead the entirety of the class is lead by guest speakers. iclickers are held at the end of each lecture for participation marks. Lectures are very boring. Final exam was random and consists of more physics and math questions, very random.
If you're reading this as a first year eng, just expect this class to be tedious and incredibly boring. The prof is extremely boring, it's just a 50 page slideshow reading session every lecture. Recommend making a lot of friends in this class, then just skipping it and asking for iclickers.
shes pretty bad as a lecturer, is very boring to listen to and puts on a rather unfriendly demeanor.
Felt like she was reading off a script whenever she was talking. Also the final was just bad considering what we "learned" and what was on it. And there wasn't any material to review for the final just it felt like we were going in blind.
Very boring. Wants you to fail.
boring course. you dont have to go to her lec cuz she is never there. always a guest speaker to talk about random stuff. assignments are really easy and exams easy too. just do the iclicker from home. dont waste your time to go a cen lec
Phantom prof at her finest—there but not there. Lectures are mind‑numbing TED Talk knockoffs, boredom so bad it should be illegal. Endless useless assignments, brutal 100‑question exam with random physics/chem/bio/math never taught. She vanished after 2 classes, left TAs to run iClickers. Course is pure academic torture, ban it already.
Useless ghost of a professor, she has her goons(TAs) and "guest speakers" "teach" for her, the course ingeneral sucks, needs huge reframing. + she somehow gets paid more then other professors that teach actual courses
Bird course
This is an easy course but she is never present in the classroom.
her lectures are boring and teaching style just encompasses reading off the slides, you really need to do well on the assignments and should be fine for a A+, the exam tho is a bit hard and will drop your grade.
