Ms. S is a great professor and this class will definitely get you introduced into the design program. The class is lecture heavy and the cumulative project is a lot of work however, she really gives you a lot of tips and tricks to the business as well as some good life advice, would definitely take her again!!

Must attend every class. Lots of information with visual examples every class. Lecture is erratic so note taking is challenging. Instructions for assignments are vague so must ask many questions to know expectations. Grade is dependent on one final project which builds throughout the semester. Stay on task or youll regret it.

Ms. S is an amazing teacher. At first she can come across as difficult and intimidating but when you get to know her she is really kind and caring. She gives great feedback and is very good at making sure you know what she is talking about. she does not move on to another subject until everyone understands what she is talking about.

This class is the second to the Green Design. This is where you will put what you learned into practice with a concept project. You will need to know the LEED information well, as it is apart of the two project you'll have to turn in. Ms. S is very supportive in helping you get through both projects.

All her grades are based on participation in class. I love that during her lectures she tells real life stories that have happened in her career.

This was a hybrid class, I believe for the first time. It is definitely not suited for hybrid since there is so much LEED info to go over. More in class time would lend better to learning everything, as we ran out of time and did not learn everything we were planning to. BUT, what we did learn, although technical, was pretty interesting.

Mrs. S is the professor you want to take if you really want to learn. She can be tough and intimidating at times, but you are getting your money's worth. It seems like she's harder on some people than others at points, but as long as you show that you are making an effort, she is understanding. I 100% will be taking every class I can with her.

I went to an Ivy League school and have a Master's Degree (NOT in Interior Design) & just took IDS 100 for fun at TCC. Without a doubt Ms. S is one of the best professors I've ever had. I intended to only take this course, but immediately signed up for next semester since she is teaching again. She presents recent & relevant "real world" lessons.

My warning for future students both online & in-person: she rarely has comprehensive slides that follow her lectures, so you need to be good at taking notes/retaining information solely from an auditory source.

This is one of my favorite classes I've taken with Mrs. S! This class was really hands on with assignments and we had opportunity to learn from people working in the field, outside of TCC. I would definitely recommend, especially if you want to explore different sides of design.

This is normally an in-person course, but Mrs. S easily transitioned the materials, lectures, and assignments to Canvas. Ms. S. brought professionalism, a wealth of real-world knowledge, and her fun personality to the class. My only suggestion is to consider adding 1-2 small drafting assignments during the semester. Because IDS 100 and 105 were combined, I felt like we may have missed out on some drafting instruction since most of it was covered by videos.

Due to COVID, I dont believe I got to experience this class as fully as I should have. You need constant feedback during this course for the huge final project, but being partially online makes that very difficult. Very few grades during the semester, only graded on participation during lectures and the final project.

Would have preferred this class to be 100% online despite COVID. Graded on two things only: participation and final project. Shes very knowledgeable and fun to be around. Class is difficult if you slack off in participation and wait until the last minute for your project.

It took a long time for her to post additional reviewing material like the powerpoint that went with the class but other than that it was an easy course to follow along with and very informative.

She is very straight forward and to the point. Lots of personal stories that help give you good examples, and experience, yet also teaches valuable lessons.

I took her IDS 100/105 classes which was a hybrid of in-person & online zoom lectures. She provided dynamic, engaging lectures w/ the use of personal stories. It is best to stay on top of the homework & drafting stages because it took multiple reiterations to get to the presentation.

As long as you participate you'll be fine

Mrs. S is a tough-love sort of teacher but it's because she wants to make sure you are truly learning the information she is teaching. She is very passionate about what she teaches, and this inspires me to do my best in her class. The only downside is she is easily distractable and not exceptionally organized. Overall, though, she is awesome.

Mrs. S knows the industry well and it is obvious how much she loves not only the industry but teaching others to know and love the industry as well. Mrs. S is hands-on and genuinely cares about her student's success. The knowledge she shares with her students is such a gift!

Prof. S class is very lecture heavy. These lectures are very helpful when learning about the new things she is teaching you. Also participation is key even if you're nervous to speak. She can help you overcome your fear to speak in front of people.

Lana is an amazing professor who truly values the work she is doing. She strives to help her students learn and understand things and is always willing to assist you. The 100&105 classes are best if taken in the same semester, since then you will only have one project. However, take note that this class is difficult, don't forget to ask questions!

This course was extremely lecture-heavy. also, I wish that we had more opportunities to do more hands-on work. Especially when there is more drafting in the class and a little bit more focus on the lighting aspect but other than that she was amazing It is high-speed pace course and you have to keep up with your work.

I think this teacher is amazing and very supportive. You can tell that she really wants her students to do their best. She gives lots of information and allows time to complete projects exceptionally. I hope to take another one of her classes in the future!

This is the first interior design class I took through TCC and I loved it! She is so interesting to listen to and incredibly informative for what the interior design field is actually like.

Professor S is energetic and passionate. She makes class fun. She is so devoted to this topic that she can easily get distracted and off on tangents but it will just expand your knowledge. She teaches you how to research and learn the material. She does not teach so if you are looking to be spoon-fed, this is NOT the class for you.

I enjoyed taking IDS 225 with Mrs. S! She has lots of knowledge in the Interior Design field, and I found her to be very resourceful. I liked the class structure; she is very understanding and forgiving. Not too much pressure, but again, the grade you get is what you deserve. Participating in class lectures will be a thing, so get ready!

The class I took was IDS 225 Business Procedures. I enjoyed this class very much. It had a very light workload, mostly consisting of watching various videos and doing assignments based on those videos and what you learned. Ms. S is very easy to please because all she cares about is participation during class discussions. Highly recommend!

I loved Ms. S's class. I enjoyed every minute of it! If you're serious about Interior Design this is the class and teacher for you. There is a big project due at the end of the class so definitely start early because it can take time to work on it. Working on this project is definitely helpful to prepare for the field.

The class itself is fun but still informative. Ms. S is knowledgeable about the subject and gave us great insights about how the lessons we learned were used in the real world. You can easily ask questions, and she always answers them clearly.

This class was great! There was so much to learn and the stories that Ms. S shared in class where so inspiring. I missed one class and was feeling a bit of FOMO. There is one decent sized project due at the end but it's from all the homework throughout the course. Definitely start on it early so you're not having to catch up later.

This specific class was heavily taught through videos, sometimes I wished that we would do a lecture in class instead of spending the hour listening to each persons take aways. Videos were informative, sometimes it was overwhelming having to sit and watch multiple long videos, I'd rather hear it from her because I love her and the way she teaches!

I didn't personally struggle, but more in-person workdays during this condensed summer session would've helped students who needed hands-on practice with layouts and using the scale.

Ms. S is very amazing and caring teacher. She really cares about her job as a teacher and her students. Her teaching style can be messy sometimes but she tells lots of good and relatable stories. She makes students feel comfortable and calmer when they're anxious or worried.

Taking both IDS100 and IDS105 from this teacher will be very beneficial. I wish I was able to, though it didn't work with my schedule. Taking only IDS100 made me feel as though I was missing valuable information.

She brings her really cute dog to class everyday. She uses her real life experiences to really get her students to understand what is going on. She grades off of participation and the final project that you will have to present at the end of the semester. She is very understanding.

Being newly introduced to Interior Design, I did not struggle very much in these classes. Some may if their learning style is 100% hands-on. A bit frustrating at times but all classes kind of are. Ms. Sapozhnikov is caring, enthusiastic, and relatable which some teachers fall short on. I would take a class with her again and suggest her to others.

Ms. S is very upfront in the beginning about her teaching style and expectations. She gives detailed feedback throughout the class so there's always an opportunity to fix your work. She's extremely entertaining some of my favorite parts of this course was when she went off on little tangents and I really enjoyed this class.

Ms. S definitely inspired me to be a great interior designer. She taught me a lot for my first year in college. The class did stress me out but it was fun learning so much about interior design and hearing about her real life stories to give me a glimpse of interior designing.

Enjoyed coming to class to hear Mrs. S speak. We did get off topic many times so we did not cover the full scope of the class. I think the final project was very time consuming especially the rendering portion but I think Mrs. S provides valuable feedback to make you a better student and future designer. I look forward to taking more of her classes

Her teaching style was very lecture heavy, but she teaches industry knowledge. She readies you for working as a designer. We could use more lab time for drafting, less reliability on YouTube for teaching. Overall, a great class, take both 100 and 105 together for a combined final project, vs having to do 2 separate projects.

Lana is an amazing teacher and is always there to help out students who need assistance, even if it's not specifically class-related. Although some of her classes can be slightly difficult (not staging, it was very easy), the experience and knowledge she has about the interior design industry are imperative to every designer pursuing their career.

Lana's classes vary in difficulty; however, if you need to satisfy an elective requirement, I highly suggest choosing her staging class. I enjoyed every second of it! Please keep in mind that while she's a great teacher, she isn't the most technologically savvy, so don't rely completely on her Canvas modules to answer your questions.

Mrs. S is one of my favorite professors! You can definitely tell she cares about her students and that she wants you to succeed. This is my first time taking a course of her's and I have no regrets! Fun & easy class but still informational!

Mrs. S is a very nice and lenient professor. She allows you to do things on your own time while also keeping in mind the due date of assignments, which is usually just the end of the semester. I really like Mrs. S and her teaching style. She gives lots of information.

This is one of the most fun classes i've taken here. Mrs. S is extremely lenient and laid back in this class because it is supposed to be fun! I heavily recommend taking this class if you're looking for fun as well as advancing your craft in staging.
