awesome lecturer-explains everything so well you hardly have to do any practise
Approachable, fair and explains things VERY well. Makes a lot of small mistakes

MAkes you feel like you're back in elementary school....
she missed her calling she should be teaching kindergarten
SOOOOO HARD...not my kind of teacher
great straightforward lectures
Best Prof I had, does way more than any other prof.Had extra classes before exam
Actually makes you think, refreshing.Hard marker, but fair.Makes things relevant
Really good prof, but I'd like her to wear a pair of pants other than black jean
awesome prof!

excellent explainer, at times hard material
I was afraid of stats until I had her. She's great.
Helpful for terrible math students..thinks she's funny when she definitly is NOT...makes really awkward eye contact with students.
Clearly explains difficult material. Tests and assignments can be difficult but they are fair.
she's a little weird. i can handle the stats course but she totally loses me in sensation and perception. nothing sticks.
The assignments are brutal! takes hours and hours and is only worth 5 percent each! Crap!
Great prof. I was scared to death of stats but she made the concepts very clear. Her assignments take forever and are a pain but they help you cut down on study time when exams roll around
She was greats for stats...gave you the essay questions that would be on the exams (and they always were). For sensation, she tended to screw you over tons on the final...watch out, questions appear out of no where. Also tons of crazy 75 min. note taking.
explains concepts really well....uses LOTS of overhead diagrams...alot of writing. Talks to the class like they are 5 years old
who puts an essay question on a stats exam...exactly not the best test giver but helpful with hard concepts....anyone seen the weakest link?yeah the british lady...i think this is her...
worst prof ever

TOUGH homework assignments (even definition questions need to be 1 page, single spaced!). Clarity is moderate-good, helpfulness moderate, if you stick with it she'll make sure you learn the material.
Her assignemts are tought but tests are not bad. She lets you change the weight of assignemnts and the final if it will help your grade!!!!
best prof ever...she explains everything clearly, knows when the class has no clue about a concept and will clarify it, tells you how to study for exams, cool demonstrations in class. very organized too
Best prof I've ever had!
I think she has the most organized brain of any human being. Her lectures are extremely well structured which is helpful. She herself is also approachable and always ready to help. Watch out for the 2nd midterm in both 2010 and 2390....study or you'll wish you had!
So intelligent and soo good at explaining. if you go to class and pay attention, its no problem. best prof ever.
I have never met a professor so willing to help me and take the time to meet my needs. If I had met her earlier, I would have taken Psychology 10 years ago. What a fabulous woman! You must take this course with Lana.
awsome teacher, one of the best psych prof's,if not the best her and barron's
i don't know what the rest of these people are on but they are all worng! her lectures are all over the place. She makes the easiest lectures confusing and her voice drives me nuts!
awesome prof.. she repeats herself alot but its gets the important stuff stuck in your head. her exams are pretty easy and straight forward. she makes you do an "essay" question.. but its easy cause she TELLS you what it will be on. good prof. clear and is always willing to give extra help!
boooo
awesome professor, extremely friendly and easy to approach. Offered little voluntary assignments to take some weight off the midterms if you didn't do so well. videotaped lectures when she had to be away near an exam so we wouldn't miss anything.
She made stats seem easy. She explains things in such a simple manner and provides many opportunities to pracice the material and to do well. She even gives out practice exams. Great prof. :)
I thought she was very interesting and fun. Despite the course's heavy material, she made it pretty engaging. The only thing i can't stand is how all over the place her lectures are..I mean she only writes out the difficult words and skips around with these crazy overhead...powerpoint would make her perfect!
OMG...i cant stand her voice. as if the course material wasnt easy enough...she has to treat us like we are in kindergarder... boooo indeed.... and also...i wonder what the world record for saying the phrase "as it turns out" in one lecture is...
Shes so cute and so nice! Feel lucky to have her as a prof!!
Oh she is so great! She treats us like we are young, but it's kind of a nice change from the scary professors in other classes. I have never had a more dedicated prof - shes so helpful and wonderful.
great prof, always saying "as it turns out!!" haha but she gives plenty of examples and tons of practice time . . she def. knows her stuff. exams aren't hard if u kno the calculations and material
if you want someone to talk to you as if you were a goldfish that didnt have it altogether, this is your prof. Is approachable after class but doesnt make it the easiest to ask questions during class when she keeps telling you how easy she thinks everything is. very annoying..
this class gives me so much anxiety. i am so bad at math, and she is not very helpful. she expects you to understand and she continuously tells the class that things are only going to get harder. very discouraging. the homework is SOOOO much work and worth so little. its aweful.
Piece of cake. I breezed through her classes, barely ever did the homework, read the text a few days before the exams, re-read lecture notes the day b4 or the day of her exams...easy. I had her for 2010 as well and got a 75 (due to sheer laziness and handing homework assignments in late). Basically, go to ALL the lectures, and take GOOD notes.
She made the stats class understandable and clear. Probably one of the better stats teachers out there. She does seem to get flustered easily though when too many people ask her questions.
Incredible prof. Math has always been my weakness but she makes stats so engaging and easy to follow. She prepares you fully for the exam with worksheets, homework etc. by the time the exam comes you only have a few hours of studying, which si all review.
As she lectures to me at this very moment, I would like to tell her that I am not a goldfish. However she does seem to answer questions in class. Cheers.
Professor Trick is an amazing teacher. She has a great ability to explain concepts that are extremely complicated in simplistic terms that are easy to understand. I took both PSYCH 2010 and PSYCH 2390 with her and come exam time, i was completely prepared & able to fully explain & understand these incredibly difficult concepts and formulas.
She used scare tactics to emphasize the importance of statistics. They did not go over well, very stress inducing.
although she did use scare tactics at the beginning of the year, its to make sure everyone is on their toes and it really does prepare you and pushes you to do work. She can explain concepts very clearly. Her midterm/exams are very straight forward! One of the best prof's I have ever had!!
Very helpful if you approach her. I found her scare-tactics helpful, as well. Seems to really care about having her students do well; she gives a lot of hints for the exam and also has techniques for helping your grade. This is a very difficult course though, and you had better have a medium to strong math background before signing up for it.
Amazing Prof. Explains very well. I had no interest in this course (senstation and perception) when i first started and ended up loving it. Best part about her is she is so funny!
So vague. So very, very vague.
lets face it, it a hard course material wise. She is very easy to approach trust me go to her office hours. she is one of those profs who WILL explain the same thing over and over again till you get it! do yourself a favor review the midterms for the final!
Lana is definitely my favorite prof so far! The course is really hard, very science-y, but she is very approachable and helpful if you ask for help. She gives tons of opportunities to boost/adjust your mark.
Not helpful at all, slightly rude via email/ in person; Appeared to be very unwilling to assist students during office hours of via email.
Loved her. She's awesome. Make sure you go to class and take notes though! She doesn't post any lecture notes online!
Extremely approachable... Explains theories clearly with many different in depth examples. Gives you the option to succeed, go to class her exams have material on then that was only discussed in class!
I would go to her office hours, and she would explain things over and over till you understood. She was funny in class. you must go to class to get notes, she posts nothing online. Exams were not too bad, not cumulative midterms and exams which is good! Good prof!!
I would go to her office hours, and she would explain things over and over till you understood. She was funny in class. you must go to class to get notes, she posts nothing online. Exams were not too bad, not cumulative midterms and exams which is good! Great prof
Unclear lecture "outlines" because she doesn't give lecture slide. Gives worksheets to help study for the exam but information is extremely difficult to find when looking in the lectures outlines. Very vague in lecture, bounces from topic to topic. Hated this class.
I found this professor to be really great. While the material was extremely dry and she can be condescending at times, if you keep on top of the readings and go to all lectures this class is a breeze. She does set a lot of quizzes but I found that this really helped me practise the concepts and I was super prepared for all exams.
Does not post lecture notes so if you miss a class you are out of luck. you need to make your own lecture notes for this class because the concepts are difficult to comprehend, especially when the prof is all over the place with her thought process.
I really enjoyed her class. She can be a little tough and come across condescending, which frankly I think comes from teaching a tough class to first years who are used to blaming their high school teachers for failing. If you take the time to go to her office hours, she is very gracious and passionate about helping the people who want it.
I was majoring in psychology and switched majors because of this class, it was so hard and I was afraid to ask her questions in class because she was so sassy when the rest of the students asked her questions. If you miss a class, you can say goodbye to a good grade. She moves really quickly through the material. I ended up dropping the class
The course itself is difficult for most, more science based than most second year psych courses. The class is not difficult if you pay attention, take good notes and don't miss class! She doesn't post full lectures online, only outlines so its important to take good notes. Great prof though, if you need help she makes sure you understand.
Lana is an extremely passionate prof, probably one of my favourite classes ever. I do not have a science background but as long as you go to class you will be fine because she explains concepts multiple times. You must go to class, but this forces you to learn the material. She tells one of the short answer question topics ahead of time. Lana rules
Going to class is essential as she posts only outlines of lectures and a few resourcesworksheets, but no notes. Slides in class are just the outlines, so you're on your own for making good notes but she'll offer to help you figure out how to do that if you ask.
It was really difficult to follow her lectures and through out test she would make comments on how we were going to slow
I've never had a professor who presents information as clearly as Professor Trick. Everything about her classes are geared towards making learning as easy and painless as possible. Having said that, you do have to come to class, read the textbook and try. If you do those three things, you're going to love this course.
Trick is an extremely good professor when it comes to explaining tough concepts. She is clear, and takes her time with the material. This course was only offered as a three hour lecture, and Trick only posts vague outlines about the course material online. Make sure you attend class or you will not do nearly as well.
so confusing, worst prof ive ever had.
Lectures are hard to keep up to & all over the place. Not many people understood what was going on during lectures and she got mad when students asked questions. Not approachable & made sassy remarks during weekly quizzes. Puts essay questions on the exams, which most people fail. Would highly recommend taking this class with another prof.
A very hard course, make sure to take behavioural neuroscience before taking this class. Her lectures are all over the place, not the best professor I've had. Not too sure if it was the content that was hard or she was just a bad professor. Lectures for this class are hard to pay attention to & very dry.
She doesn't use powerpoints so you have to take your notes from her taking. 80% of the content covered is just about the visual system so beware. I found her kind of all over the place but the midterms were fair and final was super easy,
She makes it seem as though she cares about her students doing well, and encourages questions. BUT if you actually ask her for clarification, she is very rude and condescending.
Terrible class, very very hard. Do not take unless you have taken neuroscience and are a science student. Not easy to follow along and she posts the vaguest outline of slides possible. If you do not need this class, do not take it.
Worst. Class. Ever. Like, ever. Gave you the short answers before the exam, but when you wrote them? Unclear grading criteria, confusing and all over the place. The class itself wasn't hard, but the teaching style is just her writing stuff down on an overhead, which didn't help at all. She offered coursemate, but that doesn't help either.
Worst Class, Worst Prof. I had the worst experience. Struggle in math? she doesnt care to help you whatso ever, countless emails, and showing up at her office hours got me no where. She is brief in her explanations, does not provide much help for examinations. She has disorganized slides, and hand writes on scrap pieces of paper to lecture.
She does not post lectures online which makes class attendance mandatory as well as during lectures she writes on pieces of paper and uses an overhead projector which makes it very hard to take notes. She does not always write clearly and her diagrams are very messy. Also she does not speak clearly at times and speaks very softly, very hard to hear
Love Trick! The content of her classes are hard but if you go to her classes and her office hours you should do really well! Even though this class is a 3 hour night class I recommend sitting at the front and taking hand notes, it will help you pay attention! She takes her time to explain things really well and in ways we can actually understand.
She's a bit old school, and does not post her notes online. You need to go to class, but the content in her class is so interesting and if you work hard you'll do just fine. It is not a bird course though!
She's fine but I wouldn't suggest asking questions. She can make you feel pretty stupid in front of the class.
Make sure when you ask a question, it isn't something she already answered or easy to figure out, she can be sassy. Go to every class, prepare for TopHat questions, listen carefully to the lecture content & do homework assign's. Content isn't very difficult, can be heavy, & requires attention. I got a mid 90 just from following her guidelines.
I would NEVER recommend taking a class with Prof Trick unless its mandatory. She is a really tough grader and does not answer any questions, instead she makes you feel embarrassed and stupid. She is a very soft speaker, sitting in the third row was a struggle. She uses an overhead, her notes are ridiculously hard to read, and nothing is posted.
Overall this course is difficult but manageable. This prof is not very helpful and does NOT answer questions properly. She makes you feel stupid whenever you want further explanation on something. If you have the option to get a different instructor, do it.
If you ask a question in class prof makes you feel stupid. Encourages you to go see her in office hours or by appointment but still throws comments in to make you feel stupid. Difficult course, especially without a decent data management background (such as the grade 12 math course). Prof not very helpful. Try to take course with a different prof!
She is very rude to students and will give rude remarks to students asking questions in class. Her class is tough, and thought to be easier with a different professsor!
Lana is one the worst prof's I have ever had. She is incredibly condescending when any student tries to ask a question in a lecture and makes the student feel stupid. Her notes are hard to read because of her disorganization and messy hand writing. This class is definitely manageable with a different professor.
Quietest speaker I've ever heard, makes every person feel stupid if you ask a question she believes to be simple, worst prof I've had so far. Goes over test info before tests so pay attention, don't take class unless required.
So disrespectful to her students. Has singled myself as well as many others out in class on the mic, makes you feel incredibly stupid and has a sassy remark to follow any question you ask. Tried speaking with her many times outside of class, explaining to her mental health has impacted my ability to perform well-told me to drop the class
Lacks compassion, singles student's out and embarrasses you in front of class. Incredibly sarcastic and has said to the class "you should know this by now, it's not rocket science". Works very fast, notes unclear and messy written on a piece of paper on an overhead. Had to drop the class and retaking next year. Take this course with someone else!
The material is straight forward if you do the homework. Don't ask questions in class because she'll probably single you out and embarrass you if she thinks the question is stupid. The Top Hat questions boost your mark but only if you actually attend the lectures, otherwise your mark gets brought down.
Does not go over content on quizzes or specify what will be on quizzes, must teach self
She's honestly just rude. It's intimidating to say anything because she's quite rude to the students she calls upon. She also makes some uncomfortable jokes. She's relatively slow and explains things, which is kind of appreciated, but very old school with a projector and it's easy to get lost.
She really knows her stuff, but is really unhelpful when it comes to clearing certain things up. If you want to ask a question in front of the class, be prepared to be embarrassed because she is a savage and will rip you a new one. She is very unfair with her grading and expects everyone to understand everything the first time she explains it.
Although Prof Trick seems friendly to speak to, she reply's to questions you ask in class with a sarcastic undertone, making you feel even worse than you already do about the material. She is the most unorganized professor I have had thus far (slides, courselink etc.) and would strongly recommend against taking any class that she teaches.
She writes on a piece of paper with a projector, her hand writing is usually not very clear which makes it difficult to take notes. The midterms long answer section is not very specific on the expectations and hard to know what she wants you to write.
Very difficult class. Only marked on two midterms a final then 10% on in class participation. Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to
Lana Trick is one of my favourite professors I have had. I have had her twice and both times found that she cared about students and taught the material effectively. This is a challenging course, however, she explains concepts clearly and goes through them with you during lecture, rather than just reading bullet points. She is very willing to help.
PSYC1010 with Trick was interesting, I thought she was super weird at the beginning and I had heard bad things. I was prepared to do extremely poorly in this course when I started. About half way through the semester I realized that she was super predictable and she wants everyone to do well. YOU HAVE TO GO TO EVERY CLASS or you'll be super lost.
You have to attend lectures otherwise you will miss important things. You don't use the textbook, but you use the online quizzes that come with the purchase of a textbook. She explains things very well and gives lots of examples. For me, I thought I would fail, but even if I fail the exam I will still have a 75 in the course. Make sure you practice
If it were up to me I wouldnt ever take this class again. She gives 2-3 quizzes, which on top of other work is very stressful, and when she teaches she uses a very sarcastic tone which can make you feel worse about not understanding tough material and makes you not want to ask questions at all
Made material boring and confusing Didn't post notes, only lecture outlines and would only write random drawings and words on the doc cam
Honestly, if you have a class and Lana Trick is the prof, DO NOT TAKE. She is so bad at explaining information and good luck getting clarification if you are confused and have a question, because she will only make you feel stupid. I've never had a more frustrating professor. I honestly feel like she does not want her students to succeed
If you don't attend every lecture you will easily fall behind. She assigns MindTap homework every 3 days on top of many quizzes. Hard to follow along with her in lectures bc she scribbles down stuff on an overhead that is very difficult to understand. 10% of marks also come from tophat in class, and you only get marks if you get the question right
The worst teacher I have had in my entire life. Starts explaining an example and suddenly changes to another one. Rude when you ask questions. Everyone in the class got a quiz back and the TAs marked so badly. When we asked her to give us their emails she said she did not know who marked what, so unorganized. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS IF U CAN AVOID IT
A frustrating and unorganized prof. All of her lectures are scribbled notes on a piece of paper she has projected. She regularly jumps ahead and doesn't explain things clearly. She responds rudely when asked questions. she has at least 3 quizzes due a week with tophat, mindtap, and courselink . Don't take her class unless you absolutely have to.
This is the worst class I have ever taken. When people say "dont take this class unless you absolutely need to", they're right. Don't take this class. Hardest grader in the world and she is unorganized. Her classes manage to be the most boring thing in the world and she isnt a good professor at all. Do not take this class.
I did well in this class, but I believe most individuals, found Trick passive aggressive at best. If you can take this class with ANYONE else. I Highly recommend you do. (also tests and hw are all hot garbage).
20 quizes, 3 quiz formats, 2 required subscriptions, in class tophat, 3 exams and everything is cumulative. Not to mention unnecessary short answer questions. The mean average for the second midterm was 49. If you can't do math then good luck.
This prof was very rude and condescending. She baits you into thinking its alright to ask questions and then puts you down when you do saying you should know that already or refusing to answer. Her notes are also really messy and scribbled. She jumps from one idea to another and its hard to take notes or understand. Def avoid this prof if you can.
Horrible prof, shes the absolute the worst and is very rude. Class is mandatory or else you'll fail. Any course you take with Lana Trick, get ready to pull endless all nighters put in alot of work!! As a previous Comp Engg student at UofG I found PYSC*1010 with Lana harder than CIS*2750 and any course ENGG course with Julie Vale so Good luck!!!
Professor Trick's class had a lot of online MindTap homework, TopHats, in class and online quizzes, two midterms and a final. She moves very fast in lectures. Readings and class attendance is mandatory (attendance taken in TopHat). I went to SLG to understand course material from class because sometimes professor Trick was confusing.
Dr Trick is very good at teaching this course. She knows that the material is difficult and she makes every effort to help everyone do well. You will need to attend lecture, do the readings, and do homework (practice quizzes) to do well in this class. Be prepared to work, but if you're dedicated you'll do well.
Worst professor I have ever had. She doesn't like to answer questions, and when she does she is very negative and will make you feel stupid. She constantly tells students to drop out of her course, and could care less if you are struggling. She words questions so weird, multiple people won't understand and she just continues to say she is correct.
Lana Trick's toxic trait is wasting a whole stack of paper each time she lectures
By far the worst professor. Class is very unorganized and you will have no idea what is going on because she jumps from topic to topic. The slides she posts online and shows in class provide no details whatsoever and therefore are useless. She actively writes the notes as she speaks but spells terribly and her handwriting is illegible.
By the far the worst professor I have had. Posts basically nothing for lecture slides so if you miss a class, good luck. Her notes and lectures are all over the place, she jumps around from topic to topic. I went to every class and read the corresponding chapters and my marks were so low I had to drop. Also very rude when responding to questions
Lana Trick may seem to a mean person to most, and I won't lie i thought the same until recently. As a first year taking this course, I was not prepared for the work load but once you get used to it and listen to what shes saying in class its not bad at all. Recently we've moved online, and she's done a great job helping me out with technical issues
Dr. Trick cares a lot about her students' success. If you see her outside of class she will make that very obvious.
she's got to be my least favourite prof ever. unorganized. thousands of assignments every week. really awful at explaining things. unaccommodating to students.
While the course is difficult and hard to keep up with at times, Professor Trick does an amazing job of making sure you understand the course content and help you with comprehension. She even offered to defer one of my exams (see does multiple exams instead of one cumulative) because I had mentioned that I was falling behind. Overall, a great prof.
Total chaos. She changed our format 4 times in a month and a half. Watch a video one day, lecture the next. The absolute worst professor I've had. The courseload was overwhelming. I spent days studying for multiple quizzes just to fail them. The massive courseload and chaos made her class beyond frustrating
This semester was all over the place but Lana was one of the profs who evidently cared about her students and was trying her best to make things easier on everyone. She went out of her way to email me and peers if we did bad on a quiz or exam to make sure we were okay and offer help. She faced a lot of backlash but still did her best! appreicated!
Wonderful professor. Gives individual feedback very often. She makes it very easy to do well in the course if you put in the effort to understand the material and complete the homework. Very caring and wants everyone to succeed. People who gave low ratings are probably students who are either undedicated or don't understand proper time management.
Statistics is hard af but Lana does her best to set you up with everything you need to succeed. If you do the readings, attend lectures, and do your homework you should be good. She encourages students to reach out when they need help and is always available. Basically told us exactly what was on the exam so we could raise out marks. Loves her job!
The worst professor I've ever had, extremely unempathetic and rude in every class. I went to her office hours to ask what I did wrong on a midterm and all she had to say was that she wouldn't have given me the grade that the TA did, she would have graded me lower. Psychology students, please avoid her like the Plague, any professor is better.
If you actually pay attention and do the homework, you will do really well in this course. She really cares about her students and provides so much information online it's almost impossible to not know what's going on day to day.
Absolutely loved her as a prof, she really cares and tries to help students succeed and offers so much extra help to do so.
She is a very nice and understanding prof! She wants what is best for her students and allows you to drop some quizzes and questions that you don't do well on. This course will he heavy and difficult no matter what professor you have but this prof is very organized and kind! She is always available during office hours which is extremely helpful!
Professor Trick is by far the worst prof I have ever had. She is extremely neglectful of covids significance and has admitted to making the course not passable if you don't come in person. Lectures are just answering questions without actual new content, the readings per week are extremely demanding and tests are very difficult. Also very arrogant!
I wouldn't want any other prof for this course. She puts in a genuine effort to help students succeed and offers lots of opportunities to improve grades, is very nice and understanding, and organizes the course efficiently. Most of the material is fairly easy but you need to keep on track with her provided schedule or it's easy to fall behind.
You need to go to class, only 5% of the exams are from textbooks. She does not post any of her lectures so if you miss due to illness or even covid you need to find the notes on your own. Her lectures are extremely difficult to follow as well due to her chaotic teaching style, do not recommend.
Love Dr. Trick! You have to go to lectures to pass but her lectures are very interesting and interactive. She is very friendly and accessible outside of class. She has a VERY clear grading criteria with optional quizzes and study guidelines for each exam. Also gives you a 2% bonus quiz and has easy tophat questions for a free 10% (best 15 of 18)
Lana Trick teaches classes as if everyone knows what she is talking about. She is very fast and leaves not much room for further explanations. Stats is a hard first year class and it should be taught by someone who has sympathy for those who cannot grasp these concepts too quickly. Also mandatory attendance for a uni class should not be allowed.
Would not stop talking about time management in every class attended Assigns too much work (7 quizzes, 2-3 Midterms and a final exam) that is cumulative causing the need to spend more time class and neglecting others. Was not particularly understanding and never responds to one on one email conversations. Had the worst time learning this material.
Lana Trick gives each student the ability to do well in this course. The course is quite challenging at times but she provides detailed lectures, office hours, and many examples. She also gives out really good study tools for the exam and drops the lowest quizzes.
Professor Trick, though seemingly kind, is not an effective teacher. Our grade is based on three large midterms and TopHat participation. In MANDATORY lectures, she spends 70% of the time repeating herself; however, the exams were brutal. She blames her students for lack of preparation when the average for a midterm is around 50%.
This course was a lot of work but not too difficult as long as you keep up with it. I found that going through the PowerPoints on my own time was much more effective than the actual lectures. I got whiplash trying to keep up with her speed. She is not at all accommodating so don't bother trying for extensions or anything
There is a reason reviews of Lana are so mixed Pros: A lot of opportunity to makes up marks (DO THE HOMEWORK, it will help you so much), a lot of things marked on simply participating Cons: Lectures are "mandatory" but not great, she will repeat the same things over and over, midterm exams are very difficult within the time allotted
She makes the class more complicated that it needs to be.
Provides lots of practice opportunities for students and ways for them to earn easy credits for the class by simply handing in homework. Easy to contact outside of class hours and encouraged meeting one-on-one during office hours if you needed help.
Can be slightly passive-aggressive when you ask questions. Once you get used to how she structures her multiple choice, you will find it easy. Do the homework EARLY, read the text BEFORE the lecture, email her questions. She tells you exactly how the exams are structured. Lots of opportunities for bonus marks.
It is only my first day but this woman is a sweet old grandma. I just want to sit her down and offer to teach the class myself. She looks like she makes a mean peach cobbler.
Dr. Trick is honestly one of the most willing and helpful people I have ever met. She knows exactly what she's doing. She gives endless resources to her students to see them succeed. She is never not available. Her class structure is so well organized that you would have to try really hard to fall behind. I respect this professor so much.
Lectures are mandatory for participation marks. She does repeat herself a lot but it's so students understand. Very organized which is super helpful. She actually wants you to succeed
Super organized which is helpful for staying on track with homework. Lots of opportunities to bump up your grade if you put in the effort (i.e. participation marks, handing in homework). Provides you with tons of resources (i.e. sample exams) that will make studying much easier. Replies to emails quickly and is consistent with holding office hours!
This professor is the sweetest. She gives opportunities to bump up your average and also explains everything very well. She is really organized and just wants everyone to do well. I 100% recommend going to every lecture, as there are optional quizzes to bump up your average.
Her lecture style is hard to get used to but effective enough that you can do well without spending too much time with the textbook. She gives so many opportunities to boost your grade and do well on her exams, even tells you what and how to study. Doesn't use overcomplicated language, making a tough course easier to understand.
Very very knowledgeable in what she's teaching, and passionate. It is very easy to bring your grade up through participation, SONA, etc. She is always flexible with office hours and made very hard course work seem much easier and doable!!
Terrible professor, always stood in front of the board and never let me see anything. Also never emailed me back and was so rude in class. If you can take this class without her being your prof DO IT. Take it in the summer or second year just to avoid having her. Trust me, you will fail. :)
Don't know why she gets so much hate. Great prof and super sweet lady. Super easy to get a good grade in her class as homework is guaranteed 100% and top hat questions are easy. Re-explains concepts a lot which is helpful as it is a very math heavy course.
Trick was really kind and passionate, I could tell she wanted the class to do good. Tests and exam were easy as long as you did the work, practice and homework. I'm bad at math but she made it super easy to understand and even if you did bad on one test she made sure you could make it up. Loved her class
Ppl rly don't like Trick, but I loved her! Its a university level stats course; there's going to be a lot of work and you need to be responsible for your own time management. Attend class, do the homework, & keep up with the practice questions- you'll be fine. You're here to learn, not get easy marks. Get over it & accept it'll be hard sometimes
The lectures literally do not make sense. At all. This is also a weed-out course, a lot of content, a lot of work. She makes really random comparisons in class that do not have anything to do with the material and it just gets super confusing.
Professor Trick's class can be challenging but rewarding. Stay on top of the material, use resources like unstuckstudy, and you'll do well. She wants you to succeed!
