Before taking this class, I was dreading having to do another English course. He's a brilliant teacher, who made something I was not looking forward to into a favorite class of mine. ENG 100 was an absolute blast with this guy as the teacher. Great communicator, never a dull moment in any of his lessons, always happy to help. HIGHLY reccommended!

The first comment on here is ridiculous. Lance is a LEGEND! - best english teacher I've ever had. He has a tendency to mix things up in the lessons, getting everybody involved. Makes for interesting classes, rather than just boring lectures. It's a great way to learn and he's EXTREMELY helpful if you've got any questions or problems...

If you've gotta take ENG100, take Morita's class! You won't regret it. HIGHLY enjoyable lessons, always helpful. Interesting to talk to & you'll learn a lot from this guy.

Pretty easy, just go to class and you should pass. if you do all your work, you should get at least a B in the class.

Great teacher, i had him for 2 semester for english 19 and 22. he makes things really easy to understand and his review game is really fun and helpful, also he is really nice and easy to talk to, i recommend him to everyone

I had been taking his class for 2 semesters. He is very helpful! Highly recommended to take his class!!! Good class to take besides my other crazy classes this semester: Math 205, SP 151, and Dance 131 ... Just do exactly what he told you to and you'be just fine!! A bit un-oganized but flexible and interesting after all.

I have been taking his class for two semesters. he is an awesome,funny teacher. highly recommand to take his class. He could help you as possible as he can, so don't worry about you don't understand what he said. Like me,with bird brain, I always catch what he said, but he never feel angry, instead, he gives you more confidence and his smiles....

Very fair guy, and he makes lots of jokes. He tries to make the class fun. Attendance policy is kinda strict, but at least he helps you catch up. I would take him again, but he doesn't teach ENG 100.

hes very funny and engergetic to keep the class awake. he's funny and tell stories that kinda relate to what youre learning to help. and all the homework is very easy, mostky in the text. and he'll tell you how and whats gonna be on the quizzes and exams. and sometimes gives a paper of what to review. VERY FUN! really recommend his class.

He is a very helpful, funny,energetic teacher. He encourages you to do well and really cares about his students. His work is very fair and easy to understand. At times he does tell a lot of stories that relate to the topic & it might get a little boring. But all in all he is a great English teacher and is someone to take !!(:

Hands down just an amazing teacher! He makes class enjoyable and everything is easy to understand. He also makes the class laugh with his funny jokes. The only downside is his attendance policy, but overall his class is very easy if you come to class and turn in the assignments. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Mr. Morita is one of the most passionate teacher I have ever had & one of the best. I really wish I could have him for my next semester class. He is not your average college professor, you know the ones that feel like since this is college everything has to be super hard. He puts himself at your level & teaches at your pace. Mr. Morita really made me enjoy English. I have to be honest, I hate writing. Writing to me is like pulling teeth! Somehow, by some form of magic, he made it okay and not so terrifying. He is always available for help. Definitely would recommend! Take his class! :)

AGAIN! Love love love taking Mr. Morita's class. I took him last semester for ENG 22. Like I said in my last review, he makes writing fun! He gives you more than enough time to finish essays. Need help? He's there when you need it! If you hate writing, take his class! Writing won't be like pulling teeth if you take his class. :)

I wish he starts teaching WI class. I would definitely take his class, considering I took ENG 100 from him. If you're from an ESL class and would like to take ENG 100. He is definitely the professor for you. He is really nice and comical. His tests are super easy. He also do a review game just before the test (figure it out).

Wow, he really made me more confident about my writing. When I first started at LCC I was happy that I didn't make into ENG 100 because I had been away from school for awhile. Lance helped me be confident and now I'm taking ENG 100 and I wasn't too worried about it. Really cool professor.

Basically there were only a few papers that were due for his class; a movie review, a personal paper, and a research paper. He had fun quizzes on the subjects we were learning about like sentence fragments. This class is basically reintroducing you to basic language/ grammar tools that you forgot all about. Lance is a very peppy short asian man.

Professor Morita's class is super easy, just do all the work and it is an easy A. He gives points for attendance so make sure you don't skip class. We had 5 essays and 4 quizzes throughout the whole semester. He is really nice and always tries to make the class laugh, would recommend!

This class is very easy to receive an A in if you just do the work with full effort. Personally, I've had horrible experiences with English classes, but this class was very enjoyable with the film review essay and games before the grammar quizzes. TIP (if you're taking the class): Focus on improving the essay from the draft if you want a good grade

Right off the bat, he gives off a very welcoming welcoming vibe. He doesnt want anyone to fail, so he does everything he can to help out his students and prevent them from falling behind. Theres four big essays that make up a majority of your grade and a few quizzes (theyre quite easy, so dont stress!). Overall, hes super nice & helpful!

Lance never failed to start class with a very welcoming introduction! I learned how to be a better writer and, surprisingly, a better student in his class. He has a very fair grading system and gives lots of motivation if you're not exactly the best student. Don't believe in yourself? It's okay. Lance will!

Lance is a great professor! He's probably the only reason I finished this semester off strong. He is very motivating and understanding that life happens. If you get the chance, do not hesitate to take his class.

I took Professor Morita's class Fall 2018 because my counselor actually was the one who recommended his class. He is very knowledgeable, so helpful and wants you to ask questions even if you may think it's a bother because he's always there to help you when needed. He honestly made me love English all over again. Definitely recommend his class!

Lance is a great Professor. He is such a positive person that you cant help but to smile, especially to all his corny tendencies! Throughout the course you have homework every single day. You will write three papers. You must show up to class. If you miss more than 3 classes, you lose one letter grade. Overall, it was a great class.

A very good professor. Grades fairly to those who put in effort and those who do not. Did not pass the class but I know that it is my fault. Participation matters, but going to class is not a drag. He puts effort into the lectures and has the class participate in games. Homework is assigned a lot but its easy readings you apply yourself to.

Lance is an awesome Professor. He always makes the class laugh with his "Uncle Lance" stories. You have to write a total of 3 papers and there's homework everyday unless, he says there isn't any. If you miss more than 3 classes, you lose one letter grade. Make use of the group games and try to win all the games for extra credit !

He gives 4 essays, tests and little side stories. His test is very (I mean VERY) easy and with review games we have before the test, helps us memorize answers. His side stories are related to whatever he is teaching at that moment, but it may be a little draggy. His homework are usually read-and-respond and finishing essays. Not hard at all!

The professor is so kind and open towards his students. He has so much experience with different situations that he uses examples from his personal life for you to understand. Lectures are always fun and he creates a lot of activities for you to learn. He also gives out extra credit throughout the semester. His feedback is very helpful.

His class is an on campus class. During the COVID-19 we went to online classes. He's never did online classes but he made it work. He breaks things down for you if you don't understand. He's quite quick at getting to emails. He admits to his mistakes. Also, there's fun group projects. There will be 4 essays and all of them are easy. LOVED HIS CLASS

He's an all around great professor. There's 4 essays and some of them we did as a group. He's goofy and keeps things interesting with his stories. All the homework was an easy "A". We corrected our homework together in class. There's extra credit that really comes in handy. Focus on your essays because they will be a major part of your grade.

Incredibly nice and cares a lot about his students. He's very easy to talk to when you need help and gives great feedback on essays. When COVID-19 hit, we switched to online, he had difficulty with technology but he still tried his hardest to make things work and helped everyone succeed during a difficult time. I HIGHLY recommend professor Morita!

Very friendly and approachable local man with a great personality. He gives lectures along with his powerpoints and likes to tell funny stories, too, so his class doesnt get too boring. Homework isnt that hard, just read the articles he provides and answer a few questions. Did 3-4 essays with time to revise.

His criteria is very clear. Literally everything is explained in the videos provided. There is 3 main papers that are to be written. Its all pieces out so its not like your sitting down and writing one full paper. Also its more so research than your own words. If you cannot do that he teaches you how. Dont get discouraged, hes there to help.

Prof Lance was really cool. He helps you with your assignments and is always willing to help you out. There were a few essays but there was always double feedback which really helps with revising. The hw is spread out so there isn't a huge workload at a time. As long as you know what youre doing, you good.

Taking professor Lance's class will have you feeling like you just won the lottery! He's approachable, encouraging, and provides entertaining video lessons plans, that are easy to follow. He wants you to succeed and is only an EMAIL AWAY if there's anything you need help on!

Prof Lance is one of my favorite teachers a Leeward! His assignments were straight forward, he gives short videos to explain assignments, he is funny, and he is always willing to help outside of class if you need it. Highly recommend him. Show up, do the work, and you'll pass the class.

Despite not meeting him in person, you can tell he cares for his students through his videos! Classwork is pretty easy as he understands that his students have other classes to do. This being said, there were only 4 essays, 3 quizzes, and 17 HW's as his class is every Wednesday and Monday. He is funny and gives good feedback. I would take again!

Took his ENG 100 class about 3 years ago and is one of the few professors where I actually remember his name, a testament to how impactful he is on students. Genuinely cares about his students and wants you to do the best in his classroom and out of it. If you have the chance to take his class, go for it!

This English teacher was very direct in what he wanted to teach us and made it very easy to learn. I fumbled at the end and turn in my last 2 essay late and got a B instead of an A. If I turn it in on time I probably would have gotten an A.

If you are taking ENG100 at LCC, take Prof. Morita's class. He teaches the class the way the class understand the subject. He humours making the class less boring. He is very accessible after class. Gives you good feedback and encouragement about your work and how to excel. I will def take another class under him!

The teacher responds quickly to emails and also gives good feedback for the essays and has a good sense of humor, making the class not boring and as a person who has English as a second language you can understand what he says.

Very fair. He showed us the grade rubrick every time so we knew what he was looking for. I liked that he offered his online lessons when we miss class. It kept me informed while I was out sick. Would take again.

Prof. Morita is the best! He's a sweet person who just wants to spread some aloha. Do your best (don't cheat w/ AI), and he will be willing to meet you halfway. Great feedback on assignments. I took the summer course; it was very doable over six weeks. If I remember correctly, had 3 major essays, peer feedback, and a few other assignments to do.

I would definitely take him again. It's too bad he doesn't teach ENG 200.

Loved Lance and the way he taught the class. Sure, he'd ramble about stories for maybe what? 60% of the class? But they were enjoyable, and especially meaningful. The assignments and essays may seem to pressure you, but the way he teaches helps to split up the load evenly. Fantastic teacher, hope to see him again one day.

Lance overall is an awesome professor. Inside and outside of class, he appears to be understanding and a great person overall. His work isn't too hard or too easy. While taking his class at an accelerated pace, it was still easy to understand and comprehend the material being covered throughout lectures.

Has super cute clothes. Great guy! Has dad energy and you can tell he actually wants you to succeed, you just gotta try and you will do great.
