Lance is a great professor. He is never angry which is a plus. He does sometimes get really excited about numbers but it's math. He also said at the beginning of the course his job is to make sure we learn the course not that we receive an A that is up to us. Wonderful Professor.

Lance is the best professor at TCC that could ever teach math. He has been the biggest help. He will not allow you to fail as long as you are nice to him(lol)he is a great teacher and I have survived math so far.Thanks Lance your the best. one more thing, dont call him Mr. Phillips cause he'll tell you that's his fathers name not his. :)

Lance is a great professor at TCC He's so patient and explains the problem over and over until you understand how you got the answer. If you hate math, you will enjoy his math class. I'm looking forward to next math class. Algebra.

Lance is great. His philosophy is if you havent learned then he hasnt taught. He will go out of his way to help you out. Homework graded on whether or not you did it..not if you got it all correct. Will go over homewrk questions at first of class, makes it easy to get a good grade on tests.

Lance is a great teacher. He explains everything and doesn't give a lot of homework. If you have trouble in Math I would recomend taking him. He really helps you understand the work and doesn't want you to fail.

He is almost too easy, you will learn math, which I didn't think I could. He makes it fun. I'd take every class he offers.

I took his summer course and found it very easy to learn and accomplish Beginning Algebra. This was the second time I had Lance as an instructor and he is still one of the best math teachers there is at TCC. You can use notes on tests, quizes are for fun, and homework is checked at test date. There is really no reason you shouldn't pass.

EASY teacher makes class an easy A. You do have to do oyur work but he lets you take the test over...How can anyone fail? You learn without having to worry about grades too much.

Excellent Teacher!! I had to retake Beginning Algebra and he has done such a wonderful job of clearing things up for me and helping me not to be stressed out over my GPA. Lance is great. He tries to ensure your knowledge of the material. He no longer takes up homework. You just keep it in a binder and he grades it in sections at test times. I took Lance from basic math (A), beg algebra(A), and inter. alg(B). Now I'm taking him for college algebra.

You have quizzes and they don't even relate to math but if you miss all of the questions you get a 9 and if you make a 100 you get a 10. and you get a pre-test, test, and a makeup test! I have struggled in math my whole life and when it came time for college, math was my biggest fear! I was afraid I would fail in college because I wouldn't be able to get through math. I have been in Math with Lance three semesters now and I absolutley LOVE him! He's helpful, funny, and understanding of those who are a little slower than others!

This is one of THE coolest teachers on the face of the planet. He was very interesting, intelligent and EXTREMELY easy to understand. One oddity I noticed was how he managed to incessantly use the word sex and the word****ography in just about every class.

He is very helpful but in my class there was this redhead who questioned EVERYTHING which made the class easier for her but totally threw us, that was following along, off! Lance didn't put his foot down and say "Go see a Tutor!" so it was like the rest of us got to sit through 2 hrs of HER tutoring session!Teacher-ok! that lady won't make it!

Lance is an exceptional teacher, loves helping students learn math and makes it fun. I absolutely loved this class, however, since this was the first time using a new online system (and not sure Lance knew how to use it), there was several mishaps that caused my grade to be so low. I totally recommend Lance for any math class you have to take!

I took beginning algebra from Mr. Phillips and really enjoyed his class. He has a great way of making algebra a fun subject to study. I took him for intermediate algebra. Lance is an enthusiastic teacher, however, I would only recommend him if you have no other classes to take. I took his Intermediate Algebra class over the summer. It was a ton of work,but he made it almost impossible to fail. He extended homework deadlines and reopened tests. He went way out of his way to make sure we all succeeded. Would def. recommend him. By far the best math teacher I have ever had.

I took Lance's beginning algebra class. I hated math and did not understand it and lance changed my outlook on math and I now have a better understanding. This class was great. Lance helped me understand the math that I have never understood before. It made me feel so much better about math and my ability to learn it. I highly recommend this professor and class experience. If you attend class every day and do the homework, you can pass with a good grade and excellent knowledge.

I took his online Beginning and Intermediate Algebra class. LOVED IT! He emails weekly to remind you what is due. Although all of the odd numbered tests were all proctored (must be taken at the school) the assignments were decent. He uses the Hawkes System which I really liked. Pretty much an easy A if you do the work and turn it in on time.

Lance is a great instructor! His online class is very easy to do. I've attempted this class 3 times in class, and drop it every time. Everything is done through Hawkes Learning System (Which I love compared to MyMathLab!). The online homework and tests are easy to follow. 3 proctored tests and 2 home tests. About 75 homework sections, work ahead!!!

Mr. PHillips had a great set up and great class. I took Introductory and Intermediate Algebra with him over the summer. It was a pretty difficult to squeeze in everything towards the end but it was a lot of material. I would recommend his class to anyone. My only issue was he wasn't quick to always answer emails, but it was summer time.

Summer on-line college algebra, lots of work, tests are proctored, but great communications. I got emails several times a week, and he seemed to be on-line ready to answer my questions. Tough class but Prof. Philips made it doable, I would gladly take him again.

I took the 8 week Basic and Intermediate Algebra course and I wouldn't say it was easy or fail-proof by any means. You take three tests on campus and you can take two tests at your house. The homework is worth 50% and the exams are worth 50% of your grade. If you aren't great at math I would highly suggest that you take the 16 week course.

I took Prof. Phillips' on-line Beginning and Intermediate he did everything he could to make it work for me, from proctored tests in another part of the state to changing due dates to meet my work schedule. tough class but he made it worth the effort.

He is a great teacher. He is hilarious and you never find yourself getting bored in class. He worked with me all the time and helped me with whatever I needed.

Mr. phillips was pretty cool. he's really funny and he makes you enjoy class. He's pretty good at explaining the math problems to you. don't be afraid to ask questions. The text book is not mandatory ( I never used it) so don't buy it. sometimes the homework can get heavy but he gives you time to complete the work. I suggest that you take his class

I was nervous abt taking math online but he uses the Hawkes system & it's pretty easy going. U complete lessons (they took about 30 minutes each) once a day(ish) & as long as you do them you'll get full points. There r 5 exams & 3 of them u have 2 take n the testing center. I understood everything so I actually never needed to communicate w/ him.

Use online program for everything. 3/5 tests proctored at school. at end of the semester allowed to do makeup tests or anything you missed to help grade. you have 3 chances at tests and highest grade is taken.

Every one I talked to, students and advisors told me if i struggle with math take professor phillips, they were right. He will work with you until it makes sense, he let's you take every test twice, and gives a review before each one. I would not have got my degree without Lance.

I took college algebra three times before my advisor told me to get in Lances class I wish someone hold told me two years ago. Not only did I do well, for the first time I understood the math. Took Lance for basic, I had not had any math since 8th grade and thought I could not do it, after Mr. Phillips taught and tutored me through MATH 0003, it seemed easy, so I took a 5 hour math class with him online. I missed being able to ask question directly, but he seemed like he was always online to respond to my questions.

Took professor Phillips for pre-calc (college algebra), the dude knows his stuff, he explained things that made everything easy, I can't imagine taking anyone else. Wish I had him in high school, I'd be done with math by now.

Mr. Lance not only finds a way to make algebra understandable, he does whatever it takes to help you pass, I missed two quizzes so he let me take them over a month late, homework has a do date but if you run late its only 2 points off. I wish he taught freshman comp.

Lance is amazinggggg! I have taken him for three different courses (I suck at math) He makes it F U N and is hilarious. I struggle with math, so when I would ask questions he would make sure I understood it before moving on. He did that with everyone, made sure you got it! Prof Lance worked with me through a family emergency, vacation and church camp to move schedules to accommodate my travels. He was always very caring and willing to help, we need more teachers like him.

Knows how to crack a good joke. He will make sure to answer questions from the homework before continuing with the next lesson. Don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions when you are confused.

It's been a minute since I have taken Phillips, but I recommend taking his course if you're not so great at math like myself. Phillips is funny and tries his best to make math fun. (Which is impossible, right?) I wouldn't have passed without his help.

Lance is a caring teacher. He is really good at math and WANTS you to pass. Unfortunately, due to a crappy math programing system, he is constantly having to update due dates and tests because they are initially set at an unrealistic pace. Emails WILL go unanswered, just be prepared to tough through the semester with the online book.

Some may not like Proffesor Phillips stories but they make the class interesting to me, he would stop and repeat and review, the whole class did poorly on the first test so he reviewed With us the stuff we didn't get and gave us a second test and added the score to the first. I am very pleased with his style and he goes above and beyond to help us.

Let me start off by saying this class is super easy I however take to math very well and just needed a refresher since it had been so long since I have taken a math class. With all the COVID situation going around and a mylabsplus crash I think he handled everything very well he was always in contact with me and even took a late penalty off.

Professor Philips Precalc class was very easy. One thing he is extremely good at is explaining problems, very very thoroughly. I definitely recommend him if you are looking for a more slow-paced and helpful precalc class. Assignments and quizzes are unlimited attempts, tests allow two attempts.

Professor Phillips was a fantastic teacher, being on online I loved his lecturing and how he taught the class. He definitely a great professor coming in as a freshman, really understanding. Really a fun guy and I really enjoyed going to class.

Class switched from in class to zoom and professor Phillips made it easy, he would stay on with us until we understood. I couldn't pass math in High School but made an A in college math. I would take Lance for everything if I could.

Prof Phillips is great in my book, I didn't have a clue how to do any of this stuff and he would work with me outside of class. The guy has the patience of a saint. I struggled all the way through, but I didn't do it alone, He was there everytime I needed him.

Professor P is great, I was terrified at math never being any good at but he would explain it so that it made sense, my whole study group took advantage of his open classroom tutoring and we all passed, something none of us though would ever happen. If you are not good at mat Lance is the teacher you want.

Online college math class and I was expecting the worst, but Professor Phillips set the class up making it easy to follow and easy to succeed. got to retake every test, unlimited attempts at quizzes and homework, and extra credit. I ended up with over 100%. I can't say I loved the class, but glad I took Professor Phillips.

I HATE MATH! I know Lance would be upset to hear that, both it sucks, I was never any good at it and surprised I even passed Pre-Calc. But I did, I took a lot of one-on-one with Lance outside of class, but thankfully he was always ready to help. I'm glad I never have to take math again, but if I did, Lance is the only one I would take.

He was an amazing professor. The class was online and rarely gave him much energy, but he was still extremely upbeat. There is TONS of homework and he's pretty forgiving with late work and lets you try again on most assignments until you get the grade you want. You will walk away with a grade that is dependent on how much time you put in.

Lance was truly dedicated to our success. I hate math but he made sure we had everything we needed to do our very best. I truly believe that I made the grade I did because of his dedication. This class was incredibly difficult, (It WAS precalc...) but a good grade was achievable. I would recommend Lance to anyone. He was funny and caring and clear.

Prof Phillips summer statistics class was a tough one. Be prepared to do 1-2 homework assignments every week night. Buy the TI/84 calculator and save yourself some time & frustration. Take advantage of the extra credit and tutoring center when you need help. Communication is slow so if you need something be sure not to wait and pester if necessary!

To be honest this was an easy class to take. I took the online-live dedicated class with Professor Phillips and every session was clear to understand. He took his time explaining difficult concepts of a chapter, uses Pearson MyLabs for the HW, can work ahead, and if you've taken Pre AP Algebra II in high school, this class would be like a review:).

Professor Phillips spent hours on zoom each week walking me through what I wasn' learning online, he stuck with me until I understood it, I was never good at math but with Mr. Phillips help I made the honor role.

I had a baby in the middle of the semester, Lance worked with an coordinated for my to get the tests proctored in my town and slid dates and explained thing on zoom, I was praying just to pass, but made an A. I you want a professor who cares, Mr. Phillip's is the guy.

Lance is THE BEST math professor there is, hecares for the student & shows his concern continuously throughout the course, however don't take his kindness for granted. Math has never come easy to me & I definitely had to work even though I received a low grade. The lectures were always fun & lighthearted, he relates the math to real life!

It doesn't matter whether math comes naturally to you or not--Professor phillipsmakes sure you get it. His class workouts are very thorough and he makes sure you understand the material as completely as possible. No assignments feel like busy work; rather, they all serve to help reinforce your understanding of the material. Also hes super nice.

Like with any math course homework is to be expected. Online course has great lecture videos. You know what is expected of you up front. MyMathLab is very helpful and easy to use. Professor is available during normal circumstances.

Professor Lance was an amazing professor! He made the class very easy. At times his lectures were confusing, SPEAK UP if at any time you are confused. Participation matters. If you understand what he discusses in class, your homework will be so easy. Study for the exams! Make notes and utilize the practice exams. He's there to help if you need it!

Nice professor, replies fast and gives extra credit. I took his 16 weeks online course. Five exams, fives quizzes and so many assignments. But its easy. Also, you have to take the exams at the testing center. He let us to take two of them at home. You have two attempts for each exam.

This is an online Statistics course, and I have never been good at math of any kind, Professor Phillips set the course up as easy to navigate and with clear expectations, Having to go to campus to take exams was a pain, but he was quick to answer an email or get on zoom to walk me through my problems, I would definitely take him again.

Professor Phillips was surprisingly present for an online class, communicating with use several times a week and reminding us of the assignments coming due, and getting on zoom to help me better understand. I was going to drop, but he encouraged me to keep trying and working with him. I made a B, I never thought I would pass this class but I did.

I am signed up to take him again this fall, I won't take anyone else. This was an online class that we had to Zoom into 4 days a week, he was there before and after class to help and answer questions.

I am an adult student who never finished school, math being the main reason for dropping out. It never made sense to me and I hated it. Lance made me believe that I could learn it, he explained things so that they finally made sense to me. He didn't rush through, in some classes, all he did was answer questions, as he would say I earned an A. Wow!

Lance was a great professor! I learned better in this precalc class than my high school one. He speaks loud and clear in his lectures. Make sure to show up, study, do the work, and you will pass. For me, math is hard, I never liked it and was never any good at it, I took Professor Phillips because my counselor told me he was the best. She was right, no way I could have ever passed except that Lance worked with me in and out of class, I think my seat was actually in his office. He is amazingly patient and wants his students to learn, I did.

I am in my forties, it has been a minute since I had a math class and I was terrified, Lance was so open, funny, and caring on the very first day, when he told us we could do this, I believed him, and we did it, I struggled, I asked a ton of questions and he smiling answered every one with patience and made me feel smart for asking. Take Lance.

Math is hard for me, I cried at every test but Lance sat down and talked with me calming me down and reminding me that I could do this, as well as telling me "There is no crying in math." I would sit in his office and I am sure I drove him crazy with questions but he never quit smiling and always patiently answered every one. Take Lance!

The semester started off with me hating Prof. P., I even made a formal complaint. The way he responded was always prompt and curteous and once I started talking to hi, instead of others, he proved to be a great guy, and extremely helpful. I was overwhelmed but he explained it so well and was always willing to help and explained it and I understood.

I hate math and I thought taking it online in the summer rather at TCC would be easier than OSU, I was wrong, Math is hard no matter where you take it. Once I reached out to Professor Phillips he spent so much time helping me, it was like having a personal class. I would not have made it without him. I would take him again, but I am done with math

Professor Lance Phillips was funny and very social. He seems to always be in a good mood and very encouraging. His teaching was great and easy to understand. I would recommend Professor Phillips if you need to take pre-calculus.

Professor Phillips is patient and dedicated. Though the class can be challenging, he makes the effort to work with students individually. Unstuck AI was a great supplement to the course materials and helped me better prepare for tests.

If you must take math you must take Professor Phillips, I thought online would be easier, it isn't thankfully Prof P. was willing to tutor me via Zoom otherwise I wouldn't have made it. His patience and willingness to help is amazing. I graduate in December his was my last class.

If you have to take precalculus, I highly suggest his class. I thought I wouldn't make it through precal but with his explanations I managed to get an A. Such a wonderful professor, he is happy to help students understand the material. I cannot recommend this professor enough.

This was my third attempt at PreCalc, and a summer online class, I fully expected to fail, again. But Proffesor Phillips seemed to be waiting for my emails and answered quickly, even met with me via zoom to help me understand the homework. I wish I had taken him the first time, I still don't like math but because of him, I am done with it.

There is a lot of homework, but (as long as it's before the due date) you can redo it until you're satisfied with your score. There's a practice test that has almost the exact same questions as the exams. You can take exams twice. He can get sidetracked and go on tangents, but he's a genuinely nice guy and is always happy to answer any questions.

Professor Lance tutored me every week, I have an IEP and the online format didn't suit me, but because he was willing to meet me via Zoom each week, I made an A, I would have failed without him. I tell all my friends to take Dr. Phillips, he is the best.
