Lance Schaina is the God of multivariable calculus.Strongly recommended for Math 280.His classes are really interesting and cretive.He is really smart,funny,and a fair grader.

His class is so easy because he teaches it so well. I hate math, but loved his class. His teaching made me want to attend math class. That, and a HOT Cheryl Guess was in the class, too. BEST PROF EVER.

He explains the concepts well and uses jokes to liven up the atmosphere. Stats can be pretty boring but he makes it fun. His tests are somewhat hard, but his class is overall easy.

Mr. Schaina is a helpful teacher. I remember a day before a mid-term, I didn't understand anything on the test. I went to his office hours and he gave me a review on everything I needed to know. Next day, I got an A+. Attend class and you'll do good.

Such a fabulous teacher. I absolutely hate math but he managed to make it fun--an amazing feat, I know. Tests seem relatively difficult as you take them but he grades on a curve so a B+ or A- always shot up. You'll learn a lot and won't mind a bit.

This guy is HILARIOUS. He pokes gentle fun at everything, including himself. He's especially hard on crack addicts, but that's understandable because no one likes crack addicts. He uses them and other unassuming silly people in fun statistical problems. Like Schaina, the class is easy and fun!

Pretty good teacher. Never makes you get up in front of the class to do problems which I hate. Teaches well, you can understand him and ask him questions without getting shot down. Tests are super easy as they are basically right off of the study guides he gives. Homework is there, but not too bad.

He is SO positive and uplifting. He makes math fun, and is just a delight. He gives practice test before every test that have the same EXACT problems that will be on the test, he just switches the numbers around. He has an awesome way of explaining things clearly. BEST math teacher I've ever had.

Mr. Schaina is great! He breaks everything down so that a 5th grader can understand it. If you need to take any math class, take him! He is very helpful in and out of the classroom. To pass any of his classes you just have to show up and do the homework. Most influencial teacher I've ever had!

Lance is the Best! He has a way of connecting with students. He uses up to date examples & trys to add in humor to help us pay attention and understand. Gives homework, but he'll give full credit even if you get the problems wrong. He also gives very helpful practice exams. If you take advantage of his help and try you'll do great

Best Math teacher ever!!! I took him for stats not knowing anything about the subject and ended up doing the beat in the class. If you ask questions he will answer them without hesitation. He explains everything really well and if you come to class you will do well.

Great teacher. Very neat and organized. Very caring about students and helping them learn. I took the class a while ago, but I still think my class was the only to witness him getting mad at the text book (for the answer being wrong) and then watch him tear it up. Was quite funny watching a teacher do it. I know I always want to do that.

He was very clear and helpful. He cared about our learning. I had some personal problems that he was kind enough to make allowances for. Great teacher.

This class is fun. He makes jokes when teaching and silly comments. Never a boring moment in his class. The tests are just like the practice ones he gives out before the test. I would strongly reccomend this class to anyone.

He is fun, but at times is is so mean. This class was fun to go to but I would not take him for any other math class agian just because it was kind of hard to learn. The proof was in the test scores. Most people always got a D or below for each of the tests.

He is nice but the class was kind of hard if you are not good at math. He explains the work, but still there is something that about his grading that makes it hard to pass if you are not good at math. If you want a nice teacher take him. He is funny, but grading was weird. I think a lot of people recieved a D in that class.

good professor! He is goofy at times but does his job and does all he can to help out. The reason I got a "C" in the class was because I went on a week long vacation during class. (bad idea) If I would not have done that I would have gotten a "A" for sure.

Easy class! Nice teacher! There are only four exams including the final. His exams are very similar with the practice exams. Also, he makes the exam scores on a curve, so it is fairly easy to get an A+. I really enjoyed his class!

By far the funniest math teacher I've ever had. Explains the concepts clearly, and always makes sure everyone gets it before moving on. He's the only math teacher I've had that curved. What a wonderful teacher. He's good at explaining concepts and does a reasonable amout of examples so that you'd understand. Tests were a bit hard but he prepares you for it with his review worksheets. Very helpful and the best thing is that he doesn't assign a lot of homework like GUTH (who assigns the whole book). You'll learn a lot in this class

He's nice and funny. All the tests are similar to his practice tests. Very easy to get at least a B since he curves. If you study harder, then an A would be a cake. The bad news is: he's gone. He's attending Western University this Fall for medical career. Smart guy.

Proffesor Schaina is everything you can ever ask for in a professor. He's so clear in his lectures ,he's helpful, he let me add the class two weeks after the deadline, plus he's hilarious!!! Take this class if you completely suck at math (and hate it).

Prof. Shaina is awesome. For EVERY question, he will work on it STEP BY STEP. There is almost no reason to not understand anything. His Exams are SO EASY and SHORT. I miss going to his class. He is super clear and he is funny. He gives great study guides so there are not surprises. My best advise:do not slack off on the homework and you should get an A. If you get a bad grade it is only because you did not work hard enough. Take him you will not regret it.

I really enjoyed Dr. Schaina's class. He makes his own lecture notes, and they're easy to understand yet thorough. We fill them out as a class through lectures, so be prepared to tune in. He is very friendly and very entertaining, if a little distracted at times. Do the practice exams, don't be afraid to answer questions, and you will succeed.

I took his Math 290 in 2023 spring. It is a very easy class. We do not need to do homework. The exams are very similar to the practice exams. My overall grade is 97.78%. If you understand the practice exams, you will get an easy A. His lecture is also clear.

Prof. Lance is one of the best math teachers. He does assign homework; however, he doesn't grade it. He assigns it for practice purposes. His style of teaching made math fun, easy to grasp and understand. If you attend his lectures, participate in class, do the practice exams, meet his office hours, you will do well.

Very easy class, provides study guides (Extremely similar to the Exams) to the two midterms and final. Final can replace past lowest exam grade if higher. That's your grade, just 2 exams worth 100 points and the final worth 150 points. Offers an extra credit question on exams. He's also willing to talk outside of math, just a very lenient guy

Lance is the best professor I ever had at Mt Sac. He was caring, helpful and for the first time Algebra actually clicked in my brain. I thank him for everything he has done as a professor. I had him for Algebra and College Algebra.

the only things going into your grade are the exams and final so its important to be prepared. It is also important to go to class every day. he is a very nice professor and always has a positive energy. he will answer any questions and offers office hours to help students with any confusion.

Took for Linear Algebra, very decent guy, fair grader but you have to make sure you know the concepts, he is a light grader but he doesn't give free point's either, but if you are able to fully solve the practice test's you will get an A in this course.
