Nice professor. However you do not learn alot. There are no tests unless you have lower than an A, then she gives test to help grade. Lectures one day/lab the next. If you miss lab, you miss points. Same when she shows video. Easy A if you show up to all classes but you won't learn much. Not recommended for science or nursing students.

The professor is awsome. She made every class different and easy to comprehend. She penalized heavily if you are late in submitting your assignments or labs. Oh, and never miss her class, she offers so much information through lecture, movies, and discussions. I am waiting for my grade to be announced next week and look forward to take her again.

Excellent class, especially for people who are not science people! She keeps everything easily understandable. No tests unless you need to boost your grade. You do have to write chapter summaries but they are completely doable. Definitely reccomend this teacher.

Best professor I have ever had. Dr. Bloodworth knows how to motivate you. What I did not like about this class was doing research and group presentation.

One the first day of class she said the that their will be no test in this class but you will have to summarize the chapter. I just started loving her and the class. The labs are very easy and she lets you work in groups.

Not tests, but five 1000 words chapter summaries and one 2000 word final project. On the summaries I wrote a couple of them between 600-700 words and she didn't deduct any points. Just give your opinion and you'll get an A. Ten labs and ten in class videos. She drops one of each. Labs are easy. You can miss up to 2 classes.

Never miss her labs:heavy penalty! Follow her strategies to actively work and learn in the lab, you will be ok. She is very quick!Great professor!

Prof. Bloodworth's class is great! It's very structured. She goes exactly by the syllabus. She isn't a tough grader. As long as you do the work and put forth the effort, you'll get an A. The labs are always easy. She's very helpful! You get take home tests (which are pretty easy). She has an accent, but don't let that scare you. GREAT TEACHER!!

She was the BEST bio teacher I've ever had. tests are take home, and you can find the answers word for word online. labs are cake, as long as you complete them with effort you'll get full credit. I took her for a friday 5 hour class and she understands that students can't sit and listen for that long so she will make you get up and take a break.

Professor Bloodworth is one of the best professors I have ever had. She has her PhD in microbiology and went to med school, very intelligent yet explains things very well. Took BSC2011C with her before and now micro. Her class is well structured and she goes by the syllabus. Watch out for the quizzes. Open book tests but it is not easy to find the answers. Labs are exciting. She makes learning fun. She is a great teacher. I would absolutely take her again.

Professor Bloodworth believes in suiting the class according to the students lives. So students who are like me that work 60+ hours a week this class is extremely helpful. This prof wants her students to succeed, but u have to work for it! U won't get it for free! She stimulates students minds and makes them think deeply. Class is challenging and fun, if u had any bio u will fair better. Best to get book and review her notes. Micro's hard but her class is not, don't whine and do your work and you'll do well.

PLEASE participate and do your OWN work, in the end you will be rewarded. If you have any issues on homework, then schedule office hours and she will study w/ you. Once learned, be of knowledge to your peers and don't just give away your answers. Parasites are bad for the environment. Own up to your grades, whining won't get u far in life:)

AMAZING professor!!! Make an effort to get on her good side in the beginning. Midterm/ final "study guides" are the test! She will make you work but as long as you do what your told you will have NO PROBLEM getting an A! I loved her and wish she taught more classes!

Dr. Bloodworth is very fair. Her course was easy to pass. She gave midterm and final study guides, which are mostly the same as the tests. Quizzes are take home, but are tough. We didn't use the text much. Most info came from lecture notes and internet.

Her class is well structured for learning. If you try hard she will definitely help you. She is not a hard grader but she is a very strict grader. If you misspell a term by a letter or have a typo you will get the question wrong, but you also get extra credit opportunities, but don't debate her about grades. Also, I agree with the post below.

I took her for the summer. The class and Dr. B's teaching style were amazing. Her interaction with us was awsome. The material she provided from bb was useful. She explained the concepts very well. I would take her class again if my FA allowed. This is the first time in my college years that I really missed my science class and my teacher.

I took this class 2 semesters ago with another teacher and failed it miserably. When I took it again, Dr. Bloodworth made it so interesting. She explained the material so clear and to the point. She was also very understanding and caring person. She did not miss anything on our lab reports (some of them were 8/20). I would take her again!!!

I took this class with Dr Bloodworth. She was a wonderful teacher. Her material was very clear and helpul for the test She also provide the practice test for you at the begining of the term so you can have some ideal about how she will give out the real test. However Dr Blood was a great teacher for Micro. I would recommend for everybody.

Dr. Bloodworth is very supportive. She genuinely wants every student to succeed. Quizzes every week, which are take home but require research. Labs are interesting. Final and midterm, but practice tests are similar. She is a GREAT professor and I learned so much with all of the research involved.

She is a wonderful teacher, helpful, intelligent, humerous, and not over-taxing. If you take your notes, focus on her lectures, complete your project, and only some book study is required; you most likely will recieve an "A". Exams are fairly easy; she provides example exams to study. She is flexible and funny too.

Wonderful Professor. Yes, She is a scientist which means she knows her stuff, but her ability to teach you grows from her own learning experience and desire for each student to fully understand. Language was NOT an issue. IWheather you speak English or Ebonics, instructions are posted and given in English and is clear and understandable.

LB's lab was the absolute best I've ever had. Very practical. Her lecture was a miss. Her overall grading was a hit or miss, but the testing was just plain loopy! Don't take her for a grade. You can never, EVER question her. Even if you have text material supporting your side, she will not consider it, and she will treat you differently.

The class is well organized. The professor explained the concepts well. Labs are fun but long reports. I enjoyed the class and will take her for BSC2011. Highly recommended.

I just finished Dr. Bloodworth's summer session. I can say that she is a wonderful teacher. She will teach you everything you need to know to successfully pass her class. If you don't make an "A" its your fault and you are the only one to blame. She lenient, if the class does well on the labs, you will not have to take the lab practicum.

This class should be divided into 2. It just is too much to do in one semester. The teacher is awsome. She was helpful. You need book and cell phone with camera. She made you take so many pictures...Overall, it was a good class.

Dr. Bloodworth is a very good teacher. She loves the subject she teaches and has extensive knowledge. The class is interesting and she also provide different types of media in class such as videos, power point, etc. My advice is to be consitent with attendance and pay close attention to her lecture and take notes and tests/quizes are easier.

Prof Bloodworth is a good instructor.She knows her stuff.There is A LOT of material covered and only 2 test(9chapters each). The labs were interesting. Her grading is hard and sometimes confusing. Make sure you are very specific on answers. The test are what can really hurt you. I did survive with a descent grade but it was difficult.

Great Lady , she can be tough but the labs were fun and the test were tough. Do your work and you wll be graded accordingly . Would reccomend to anyone. Being Asian language is not a problem and promotes class participation. She is educated beyond this job position so sometimes she can go over your head , but ask questions she will gladly anwser.

Excellent professor of microbiology, and she goes the extra mile to make sure that information is presented very clearly. She is invested in her students. Grades are based on 2 tests, weekly quizzes and weekly labs. Her study guides help you prepare for her exams. Very difficult at first, but once you get the hang of things, it gets better

Micro is a hard class, but Dr. B makes her class so enjoyable! She gives you everything you could possibly need to make an A! Grades are based on 2 tests (250 pts each) 10 labs and 10 quizzes and you can earn up to 30 bonus pts. Lab practical 100 pts and final project is 250. Her accent isn't a problem at all and she is HILARIOUS!!

Already missed her class. It was a well organized course. The teacher did not post ppp to the blackboard. Overall, it was an excellent class.

I took Dr Bloodworth for Bio II and enjoyed her so much that I then took her for Micro. She is tough but very fair. Do the work and come prepared and you'll get a hard earned A. The lectures and labs were very organized and you were very helpful to all of the students. You taught us how to study better. Even when I took my nursing test, the same material that we covered in class was on the test, like the nonspecific defense system. If there is a reason you need to miss you she allows you to attend another class time. 10 at home quizzes, 10 labs, a group project, lab practicum, and a mid term and final. It may seem impossible to pass her class at first, but it will get better as long as you do what needs to be done. The labs, quizzes, and case studies are great, and everything can be done as a group which makes it, even more, better. There's a group project, an article review or experiment (you're going to choose which one you prefer). Finally, there's the midterm and final. I suggest reviewing the chapters 1-2 weeks before the exams. Also, don't make her mad and always follow what she says. I recommend her if you want to have a promising background in Microbiology which is needed in most health care fields.

Dr. Bloodworth is an absolutely wonderful professor. She is passionate and places emphasis on the fact that she "works for you". She is from Vietnam so you need to understand that the culture and mannerism is different than here; be gracious, cordial, and ask her questions. She corrects you in order for you to be actively learning, not to be nasty.

These negative reviews are VERY MISLEADING. All she expects of you is to follow her directions. Ask for clarification and she will help you. If you ask dumb questions that she has already answered, she'll call you out. Follow directions and she will reward you by offering online exams & quizzes and XC. Optional groupwork. Easy labs. BE RESPECTFUL!

Professor Bloodworth is one of the best instructors I have ever learned from. Her exams are not easy, and her expectations are high; however, I have learned so much, esp. the lab skills. After taking her microbiology and genetics (3 years ago), I am confident that I am going to do well in PA program at UF in Spring semester. Highly recommended!

Dr. B. is a wonderful professor. She is really nice and cares about your success. She always says that she works for you and she fixes any issue that may arise. She definitely makes sure you understand the material.

I just finished a hybrid course with this instructor. Convenient, the class met 6 times the whole semester. There were some challenges but I learned much more than I expected. I would like to take her again for other science classes.

Dr. Bloodworth is so nice and caring! Her class is hard so you have to work for the grade you want, but its not impossible to make an A. Stay on top of your work and always check the schedule! She has an accent but you get used to it after the 2nd week. She is very funny but you must respect and listen to her!

She gives tons of extra credit and is one of the best lecturers I have ever had. She really works with you if you need help. I forgot to do a quiz and she opened it back up for me. She takes lab safety very seriously and is super helpful in lab. Grades a little difficult but if you use the "scientific" language you'll be fine.

Dr. B is one of the best teachers at FSCJ I have ever taken science classes. I learned so much from her class. Don't miss any labs and don't skip any lectures. There are case studies, some are challenging. There are a course group project, I found this is the most excellent activity I have ever participated in college. I would take her again.

Works with you & super sweet. Just talk to her if ur having trouble. 12 week course, lab every week except for the last 2 (presentations). Group project was easy, just a paper and a presentation on a topic you choose. Tough grading on the paper but follow the rubric. The lab reports aren't demanding. All quizzes/exams online. She's great!!!

Bloodworth has an authentic enthusiasm for science and teaching. She finds ways to bring interesting, pertinent outside world information into her lectures. Im in Prof. Bs Micro class,she has been really amazing for the class. She lays out the material well, lectures are interesting and informative. There is definitely work involved and reading to prepare for the next class. She is very invested in her students and them doing well. At first I didn't like her but I grew to love her. She lives and breathes microbiology but she makes sure we are well prepared and works with her students. If yourclass is good the midterm and final are online or either or. She also doesn't make you take the lab practicum and has one group project. Also she gives AMPLE extra credit!

Difficult class, tough professor. This was a hybrid class, but you're allowed to sit in during other lectures. Group work galore, but individual submission is also acceptable. Fair warning: grades took forever to post, but this could've been Canvas error. Extra credit offered during lab hours only. Double check your citations or points deducted.

Dr. Bloodworth is amazing. She means everything she says. The class has a lot of work. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! Late work is not accepted. She gives wonderful feedback. She communicates effectively and promptly. I took her 8 week Med Term class, each week had roughly 2 voice demos, 2 discussions, 2 quizzes, and 2 homework assignments. Def take it.

Dr. Bloodworth was great. If you follow the dates on the syllabus and pay attention to the lectures there should be no problem. This subject is difficult but if you show up and make an effort there shouldnt be an issue or any confusion with the material. If you do the work and respect the professor, you get the grade you worked for.

I have taken prof. B last term and it was pleasant. She is very kindhearted and adjusted the test days to take on leisure time. Follow the syllabus. STUDY! She provides midterm and final practice worksheet. She grades when the time is convenient so as long as you do the work on time, you will be fine! There is also a major project due at the end.

Took 2 classes with Dr. Bloodworth. I don't understand the negative reviews... for Microbio she literally give you 20 extra points for attendance.. so if you have a 70, you earn an A in the class. Honestly the best and most structured professor at FSCJ. She cares about students and does her best to prep you for graduate school. Easy A.

I don't really get all of these negative reviews. Honestly, if you have a busy life as is, I definitely recommend Dr. Bloodworth. Labs are pretty easy to do at home, none of the tests/quizzes are proctored, and unless you are just extremely lazy and put for absolutely no effort, you will receive a good grade.

Dr. Bloodworth is a very nice professor. All the tests are online no proctoring. She is very strict when it comes to MLA and APA format. You have one project that is due at the end of the semester. I recommend doing ur own study and not a peer review as it is less work. This is honestly the first class of my college career where I learned something

Every monday she posted on what to expect for the week. No issues with communication because she asked everyone in class if they had questions. Take her class! you will not be disappointed!!

I am not sure why there are bad reviews as this is a college level course, and she does a great job at explaining what is expected in the course. The schedule of assignments that are due each week are posted. She is a tough grader, but she will also assist you if you need help or clarification for anything. Work together with your lab group.

I quickly learned a lot, about a complex subject. The best professor I have had. Strictly follows the syllabus which sets clear expectations. Class includes collaboration with peers, critical thinking, research, attendance is required. Dr Bloodworth trains her students to be the best in their field of study. I honestly don't get all the bad ratings, as the grading criteria is very clear in the syllabus as well as dates for assignments, expectations, etc. Professor was helpful in responding to students' questions and clearing up confusion in open discussions on Canvas. Professor Bloodworth was awesome! She made this course an incredible experience that was easy to navigate, not to mention the class was very enjoyable. She covered a lot of material in the HESI (helps if you're a future nursing or dental student), was recommended to me by other nursing students and I don't regret it one bit !!!

It felt overwhelming at first, but her format eased us into it. You do not read the textbook unless you need clarification on something. She provides all the notes and PowerPoints. She seems hard because she is really prepping you for your career. At the end of term, I felt thankful for her. I see the world different because of her, truly.

This class was dynamic with games and exercises, and had lots of interactions with class members through discussions to learn and collaborate on the course project. It was easy to reach out to the professor for assistance and support. You MUST take it to invest in skills for allied health professions like nursing and dental hygiene or pharmacy.

Professor Bloodworth may seem intimidating at first because she's very straightforward, but don't be discouraged—she genuinely cares about her students' success. She gives weekly agendas that make learning easier. Stay on top of your work, be respectful, and you can absolutely ace her class!

Her tough grading is the factor why I got a B instead of an A. I would not take this class if you are looking for an A. She does a very good job with showing you how to do labs and if you as a class do all labs correctly, she lets you take home the test (not proctored). But be aware of grading, getting a 100 on an assignment is like unheard of.
