She is awesome. Attendance is not mandatory but this is chemistry so going is highly suggested. She gives some participation credit. Her tests are simple. The homework is easy, its just that sapling sucks. If you want an A, just study. Religious studying is not necessary.

She does ask you to submit work for class, so attendance isn't mandatory but definitely helps. Lecture slides are emailed/online. The tests are a bit difficult, but no sweat as long as you actually look at your text book. She does a good job explaining concepts.

Dr. Lockett is really awesome, knowledgable, and helpful. She has a great personality too. Going to class is probably a good idea, especially if you don't have a chemistry background. Even if you do, she helped me understand concepts in a new way, which helped me learn better. Study for tests and do sapling and you're good for the class.

Lockett is amazing! She is really good at explaining things and does multiple demonstrations to make sure you understand. She gives a lot of time for you to work on problems and she will go around the class and give you one on one time. She is very helpful and hilarious! She makes chemistry fun which I did not think was possible!

Dr. Lockett had a very fun class. She is not boring at all. The chemistry is hard, but she will respond to your every email no matter how confusing it might get. I suggest that you take her class. Almost all of the professors there are old and very boring. She might be the best professor I will have in this school.

She keeps the class entertained the best she can, but it's chemistry. She is helpful through emails and office hours. The lecture slides are kind of bad though, and I think the entire department uses the same ones so try really hard to take good notes, and take advantage of the time she gives to practice examples.

Excellent professor. I didn't take 151 at U of A and was a little worried about jumping into 152. She made it so easy. Every concept was clearly explained and all the material on the exams was covered in class. Take 152 with Lockett she's much better than the rest.

Lockett is an excellent professor not only because she explains the concepts throuroughly (giving us more than just something to memorize) but also because she treats her students like adults (which can't be said about many in the chem department), fairly and with respect. I highly recommend Lockett for 152.

Dr. Lockett is absolutely incredible. She takes difficult problems/concepts and simplifies them. She really breaks things down and does a great job of preparing you for what is going to be on the exam. Visit her during office hours and she does everything she can to help you understand the material and get a better grade. Best chemistry teacher.

Dr. Lockett is a great teacher. Chemistry is a tough subject period, but it helps when you have a professor who wants to help any way they can. She is one of my favorite professors. She keeps the atmosphere light by making jokes at everything. I highly recommend her!!

Good teacher, hard class. There was homework evey week or so, but she covered everything in class, so it wasn't too bad. The tests were HARD. Be prepared to study.

Great chem prof! Compared to other gen chem profs, Dr. Lockett is clear and an engaging lecturer. Tests are fair. Powerpoints and hw are sufficient in my opinion. I never opened the textbook and still got an A. But that doesn't mean the class is easy. It takes interest and diligence. Study hard and make sure you really understand the concepts!

She is a good teacher. Maybe not as detailed and passionate as pollard, but if you are new to chemistry, I highly recommend her. She likes to make us do problems in class. For me, that is how I learn. I did take chemistry before, but she helped me get the math part down. I didn't try too hard. Just rewrite and memorize slides.

Dr. Hidalgo has been by far my favorite college professor. She is very down to earth, she responds to emails promptly, and she's always willing to help. I easily received an A in this class without the textbook. She is also the most fair professor in grading I have ever experienced. Take her! But GO TO CLASS

She's pretty good and there are a lot of resources to help you succeed but it is a very difficult class so you need to be at the top of your game because tests are very hard.

Difficult class. Go to lectures if you can because she provides the class with information essential to doing well on the tests. The tests are generally difficult, so study up because they are worth the majority of your grade. Don't look forward to blowing off the lab portion because it is somewhat difficult. Don't buy the book, it will not help.

After taking Pollard, this class is a breeze. Dr. Hidalgo is very easy to understand and teaches well. Show up to class and take notes. Review a bit before exams. Don't buy the book.

I had taken first semester at a different university over two years ago, and still was able to do well in this class thanks to Dr. Hidalgo's teaching. She's able to break down complex topics so that you can clearly understand them, and she also makes herself super available for help anytime that you need it, which is awesome. Definitely recommend!

Prof. Hidalgo (Lockett) is hot and smart! She's tatted up like I promise you don't believe! Smart and attentive, she leaves no one behind. She is both funny and interesting, not to mention she has a passion for making the material relatable which helps me hugely. She is very cool, and very clear on what she's explaining. Don't miss a class, and make sure you ask questions that didn't make sense to you. All the materials will continue to come up with some sort of relatedness so understanding the previous lectures is important.

She is a great teacher, sometimes gets annoyed when people don't participate though because she is really trying to help us. When I found out I couldn't fit her lectures in my schedule next semester in Chem 152 I was really disappointed. Clear, Helpful, Respected, (Tattoos), Definitely recommend.

TAKE HER CLASS. Chem 151 is by no means easy but she does everything she possibly can to help you understand the material. Good lecturer. Has a really good personalityshe's completely tattedthe coolest lady ever. Go to office hours and tutor hours for sure.

I loved being in Doctor Hidalgo's class. She was very helpful to explain the material for the chemical thinking exam. If possible take Dr. Pollards class, because he is the one who writes the chemical thinking exam. Show up to class and if you need help, show up to her office hours. Print out the slides on d2l to write on for notes. It'll save you.

Dr. Hidalgo is one of the best professors I've had so far. She's very clear when she's lecturing and always asks if anyone has any questions after each topic she covers. Lots of people struggle with this class, but it's not because of her or the teachers (most of the time) it's because the course material is VERY difficult. So don't slack off!!

Hidalgo (aka Lockett) is a great teacher. She loves chemistry (obviously) and her enthusiasm makes you want to learn. Most assignments are announced and otherwise organized in the website. Also, the book she uses is free online and a big help. She regularly has office hours and is willing to meet with you as appointment or her preceptorsTAs.

This course was definitely a little difficult because of the material, but the professor really tried to make sure we fully understood. I thought she was very helpful when the class asked her questions. She is very passionate about Chemistry and would keep us interested by making us laugh during lecture. She will never trick you and will warn everyone when an especially hard unit is coming up. More friendly than Pollard and fantastic teaching skills!

The general chemistry program at the University of Arizona is not always the greatest, but Dr. Hidalgo made it as good as it could be. She is hilarious and really has a passion for the material that she is teaching. I would highly recommend her to anyone

I liked how Dr. Hidalgo worked through the problems on the board during lectures. The U of A needs to give her a raise. She is very friendly and helpful during office hours. Do all the extra worksheets and go to Friday review sessions. I also ended up reading a lot of other textbooks for gen chem and orgo.

Dr. Hidalgo is a great professor. It's the course and the university that are the problem here. She tries her best to make everything as clear as it can be. If you don't have a chemistry brain, then things will still be challenge; but she is definitely more than willing to help you out. Just for reference, the curve my semester was 4%.

Chem 151 is a really hard course at U of A in general, but having Hidalgo will make it so much easier for you. She really cares about her students and does her best to make the information interesting and easier to understand. It requires a lot of your own time and effort though, so go to SI and review sessions to better understand the material.

I never actually rate professors on here but I feel like I have to for Dr. Hidalgo. She is honestly the best professor I have encountered so far. She truly cares about the outcome of the course if you actually take the course seriously. She is willing to work with you and actually has your best interest in mind. She made this tough course do-able.

Dr Hidalgo was probably my best professor this semester. She explains concepts well and as long as you get her slides and take good notes, you'll get an A in the class. She also encourages her students to do well and provides the tools needed to do so. Not to mention, she is completely tatted up and is also a bodybuilder. You don't see that a lot!

Gives opportunities for easy points other than that its exams and homework as grades. She's super interactive and expects participation but if you go to lecture every time you'll do great. Hidalgo is the best professor for gen chem at the University of Arizona. She is one of the few professors that teaches all of what will be on the test. Read the textbook though!! She is amazing in office hours although she looks intimidating she is really sweet. Chem is not easy but Dr. H makes it bearable.

As far as chemistry at the U of A, be prepared to work hard. CHEM151 and CHEM152 are arguably the most difficult classes of freshman year. Dr. Hidalgo works hard to engage the class while explaining thoroughly. I would recommend going to all the classes simply for the fact that chemistry is a hard topic to grasp. Hidalgo is great though!

Chem 151 is a hard class and there is no getting around that. It's chemistry. Dr. Hidalgo does such a good job breaking down the material and explaining it. She knows what she's talking about and she knows how to effectively convey it to others. She's also one of the coolest people you'll ever meet. Take her if you can!!!

Chemistry is hard but Dr. Hidalgo does a great job of making it easier. She knows her stuff, but more importantly, she knows how to teach it. I've never written a review before but she is just such a great professor that it would be a disservice to incoming chem students not to. Hidalgo is cool and accessible outside of class. She's a good lecturer but this class is a lot of work and required so much time outside of class at SI sessions to understand but Hidalgo makes it doable. There is no extra credit which is rough and her quizzes are pretty hard. She gets grumpy but she can also be so supportive and inspirational.

Hidalgo was a great Professor! I had her my first semester of Freshman year so she was a great transition into college. Her class does require understanding difficult concepts, but she does a great job of going over them thoroughly. I am enrolled to take her for Chem152 as well. Definitely worth having her.

Honestly one of the best professors here at the UA. Very clear with expectations, prepares you well for exams, willing to meet with you if you have any questions. Not condescending. Professor Hidalgo makes Chem151, a notoriously hard course, fairly easy to understand, and is always open to answering questions- no matter how stupid you think the question is.

Hidalgo is an AMAZING professor. Anyone who says otherwise or says their grade was not their fault are not being truthful. I have never met a teacher who cares more about their students success. She teaches with intensity, care, and sometimes some humor. Kids try to show off and she'll roast them. I highly recommend her.

Chem 152 is already a terribly hard class, but Hidalgo is the best possible professor at the UofA to take it with. Lectures are easy to follow and there is lots of help inside and outside of class. There is a lot of discussion with tablemates/classmates, so take the class with some friends to get the most out of it.

Easiest way to do well in 152 is to show up to lectures and engage yourself in the material presented. Dr. Hidalgo does a fantastic job preparing you for her quizzes and the exams. Came from the Honors section taught by Dr. Pollard which was a dark pit of sadness, but after 152 with Hidalgo, I think I can still be a science major no problem.

Dr H is, hands down, one of the best professors for Gen Chem. She is passionate about what she does and cares so much about her student's success. Show up to class, engage in class activities, ask questions and you'll do fine. Practice problems will help a lot. Reach out to her, she's very nice and gives great advice.

Best professor ever! I have never learned so much in such a short period of time. The class can be a challenge, however, if you put the work in it's very do-able. The exams are hard and the final is even harder, but if you study and look at your notes getting an A is possible.

We had bellwork and tophat homework, which was old exam questions and I found them really helpful for the exams. The best way to succeed in this course is studying her tophat slides and as well as understanding all the tophat hw very well. Also, go to her study session during her office hours! And, don't miss her lectures!

A challenge, but definitely the best chemistry professor. All of the exams are hard and you really, REALLY have to work for it. I would make flash cards, reread your notes, and go to SI sessions. Really helpful and posts lots of "how-to" videos on Panopto before exams, super good study material!

The best chemistry professor (period). She does not waste your time on unnecessary info. Every thing she focus on it will be important. She will make you like chemistry. STUDY! The exams are much harder than the homework. She is the best inspirational instructor in Chem Dept. She is respectful and care about your success.

Good teacher. Taught everything in an understandable way. Gave good study guides and old exams to practice with that other CHEM151 teachers (from what I could see through my friends) did not. Tests were straightforward, not too bad. Averaged an A on them. Do the HW, pay attention in class, go to SI, practice, and you'll do fine on the exams.

Her teaching style encompasses the basic learning styles (auditory, visual, kinesthetic) and is very accommodating if you miss class/an exam. The book is for people that need to read to be able to understand concepts but I found that I didn't need it to pass the class. Daily attendance is mandatory to pass, and participation is highly encouraged.

Hidalgo seriously made Chemistry easier to understand. She puts in so much time outside of class by creating extra videos and lectures to help her students understand and achieve higher.

Really helpful, just go to office hours and show that you care. Really flexible and available. I didn't read the textbook, but I went to all OH and 2/week SI sessions, and only writing assignments were short answer ?'s. Asks for respect and your time, don't leave class early. Chem 151 and 152 are HARD but Dr. Hidalgo makes it sooooo much better. She makes panopto videos after almost every class and for every subject that is requested. She also provides a ton of optional practice work before exams as well as mandatory TopHat quizzes. I might be biased because she was my only chem teacher but Hidalgo is the best.

She is an amazing Chemistry teacher who does not force you to sit in groups, like Graham. I switched over from Graham to Hidalgo and I do not regret it. Hidalgo makes the content easy to understand and provides you with tons of study material. Take her class if you're serious about learning, if not every other class has high curve at the end anyway

Taking Gen Chem at the UofA? Hidalgo is the best option hands down. Cares about her students and makes lectures actually enjoyable. Pop quizzes once in a while, so don't skip lectures. Only had her for 2nd sem which makes me sad because if I knew how great she was, I would not have bothered taking Honors GenChem with the "better prof".

Best professor I have taken at the U of A. WANTS you to succeed. Hosts multiple review sessions outside of class so students can have extra practice, creates many videos going over problems or reviewing certain topics (these were SO useful)... and will give you points back on an exam if you disagreed with how your exam was scored... take her class!

When I first started this course I had a lot of trouble but, Dr. Hidalgo helped me understand and pass the course. She gives great lectures and offers many resources to help you pass. Chem is generally a hard class, to begin with, but she helps.

Dr. Hidalgo is absolutely amazing. Chem is what you make of it, but Hidalgo makes it so much better. Very involved lectures, extremely accessible outside of class. Her and the SI's are always putting on review sessions so there's no reason to not be prepared for an exam. Textbook is online (free) and it is only used for tophat hw. take her class!

Honestly the kind of person I want to be when I grow up. The class was tough, so stay on top of material and attend SI sessions or email her questions when you need to.

Dr. Hidalgo is one of the best chemistry teachers I could have ever had. You can tell from the first day that she is passionate about her work and her role as a chemistry teacher. If you plan on taking an online class with her, prepare for the tests well in advance, because she will give you all the guidelines but not the answers as easily.

Honestly couldnt have asked for a better chem teacher. The content was somewhat difficult because I hadnt taken chemistry before, but she did such a good job of explaining concepts in a way I could understand, pointing out the ways they connect, and providing practice problems so we can apply those concepts.

Dr. H is a very nice prof, but the class itself was not fun. There were lecture videos that you had to watch before the actual class, so you spend about 5 days a week doing chemistry. The tests are pretty hard, with most of the class averages being under 70%. Dr. H is a solid prof, but there is a very heavy workload.

Dr. Hidalgo is such an amazing chemistry professor. Im definitely someone who struggles with online learning but she gave us SO many resources to be successful. She really cares about her students and the way she set up her class allows students to succeed. Chemistry is a really hard subject in general but if you need to take it, TAKE HIDALGO!

Chem 151 is not only a class set up to deter students from the STEM/Science field, the classes are huge. Dr. Hidalgo was fresh to zoom teaching when I had her, but she provided so many resources to help student succeed, It can be overwhelming at first. To do good on tests, go to her office hours. Passionate and knowledgable teacher!

Dr. Hidalgo takes her time explaining concepts and ideas. It is very easy to succeed in this class if you just take time out of your day to study. Her material is really easy to understand and her attitude is very welcoming, which makes it very easy to talk to her. I recommend her 100%, she's better than anyone out there, trust me.

TL;DR Just pick her for 151/152. Took online due to covid, so your experience may vary. Tests were open notes. Material itself can be challenging to understand, but she breaks everything down so you'll be able to understand it as long as YOU put in the effort. Use of discord and learning team is extremely helpful. One of those 'cool' professors.

Doctor Hidalgo is one of the best professors I've had in my career, even though chemistry is a difficult class she made everything very understanding for everyone and was super supportive with the pandemic situation and always tried to help us to succeed in her class

best teacher for chem. went to zoom for attendance its worth like 2-3% tbh I was zoned out cuz it was early. just rewatch the D2L vids before the test. lab is easy just show up and the TA walks thru it. got an A on every test and lab and ended with a 96% overall. no need for the textbook but u still need access to TopHat for the hw.

She's super passionate about teaching chemistry and has her assistants set up so every student can ask questions and get help when needed. This is especially important as lecture has over 500 students in it. Best prof ever.

She's charismatic, caring, and has a learning team always ready to help others in the class. She put much effort into making the class as accessible online as possible, including a surprisingly fun class discord server. Good at chemistry? You'll do great. Bad at chemistry? Her course will still be very difficult, but it will at least be enjoyable.

This class was huge and Dr. H does her best to avoid the negatives that come with a huge class. There are multiple ways to learn the material and succeed in this class especially over zoom. She was really understanding and fun and made this tough class okay.

She provided a ton of extra material to practice and study with before exams, and there were a few generous extra credit opportunities near the end of the semester. Her teaching style was not my favorite resulting in me not taking her again. Her teaching team was helpful but most of the time avoided helping students and wouldn't know how to explain the problem. I didn't start learning anything or passing exams until I attended SI sessions, if you want to learn and pass I recommend going to SI from day 1.

The subjects covered are challenging, so you really need to pay attention and make sure to do all HW. Get an Exam average of a C and HW of an A and you'll be okay. I'm finishing with an 85% and it was HARD for me. Overall, amazing teacher!

I absolutely loved Dr. Hidalgo. She made chemistry very interesting to learn. I had sort of a shaky start to the semester but all her resources made it really easy to bounce back. She is the most understanding person Ive ever met, and understands that sometimes life gets in the way. I took my first chemistry class with Dr. H last semester and decided that if I didnt get HER this semester I would wait for the next one!

As impossible as it sounds, Professor Hidalgo makes you enjoy learning about chemistry. Because of her classes I added a biochemistry minor to my degree. She really wants to help students learn the material and the fact that she is kind and funny is just a bonus!

She is sweet you can find material online easily. Super good teacher but if you want a teacher that will really teach you so you can prepare for OCHEM maybe consider someone else?

Dr. Hidalgo is an awesome teacher! Chemistry can be really intimidating at first, but her lectures are clear and easy to understand. She gives you a chance to ask questions and do practice problems in class, which is nice. Try not to miss any lectures though, they're really information-heavy, and review the slides if possible.

DO NOT skip class because even just one day missed and you will be behind. It is really fast-paced but Hidalgo does everything in her power to help you.

I absolutely adore Lani Hidalgo. Just a brilliant teacher all around. I took Perera for 151 and coming into this class for 152 was like night and day. Hildalgo was the best professor for chem! I HIGHLY recommend her. She made learning the material easy and stress free. If you tried, payed attention and participated in class you will do great. This class was my first lab class, and first one ever of college. I did not know what to expect. It is worth noting that the LAB grade is 25% of your total grade in the class, while the lecture is worth 75%. Dr. Hidalgo is my favorite teacher this semester, and I am taking her again next semester for CHEM 152. People fight to get into her classes.

Dr. Hildalgo is a great professor. The exams are tough; there are 4 of them, all about 7% of the grade. For every exam, we were allowed a cheat sheet. Everything on the exams was discussed in the lecture, and Hildalgo provided extra videos and problems to review. However, lab is the hardest part of this course which is taught by a TA.

Amazing professor. Even though the lecture was 500 people I could reach her via email or discord within a few minutes to a couple hours. I enjoyed lectures and understood rather than memorized.

I looked forward to the class and she outlines her expectations work wise very clearly. I never really struggled to understand what was going to be on the test or quizzes. She makes sure you can learn things in many ways. I had a harder time with the lab but she was not really a part of that. I am taking her again for 152.

Hidalgo is the best. She made chem so much fun for me. I loved how she ran lectures and how you could join on zoom if couldn't make it. The learning team is the best as they helped me so much understand in class problems! She made chem applicable to real life which is super cool! Also she is so cool for being accessible on our class discord server.

Hidalgo made a giant lecture hall feel small; she worked with me outside of class, and seemed like she genuinely cares about her student's success. Every lecture is also on zoom, which is recorded and posted, her TA's all have consistent office hours, and she has a discord and a group me with other students to ask questions in.

Professor Hidalgo was very engaging in her lectures and tried her best to make sure her students were prepared. She provided various resources for one to prepare for the tests and even would upload past exams to give the students an idea of how the exam is structured. People make it out to be harder than it actually is due to lack of organization.

I wish I was able to take this class in person.Just when I thought I was going to fail this class in the beginning on my first week, my anxiety went out the window after I saw the recorded lecture. Fantastic way of teaching, made things a lot clearer. You can tell she loves to teach and perhaps why I feel students connect with her.

Absolutely the best Chemistry professor. I took the honors section for 161, and then 152 with Hidalgo and found it so much more enjoyable. All exams are fair, and Hidalgo and her SI leaders are always there to provide content that's actually relevant to quizzes and exams. If you want straight inorganic Chemistry without trick questions, TAKE HER.

Dr Hidalgo is a great professor, granted, the class is still definitely difficult. my best piece of advice is to listen during lecture and then watch her uploaded lecture sometimes after class and write notes then. its a lot easier when you can pause the video bc in class she goes very fast. shes a great prof. def take her if possible!

Hidalgo is the best professor in the Chemistry department. Students with other professors go to her class because she teaches better. SI leaders say students in Hidalgo are the most knowledgeable about class content too. Hidalgo creates video lectures for students which helped me since I cannot retain much from my own reading of textbooks.

Dr. Hidalgo's lectures are a good mix of presentations and practice problems. Attendance is taken, however, if you can't make it to class, just have a friend send you the attendance code and you can watch the lecture back because she records her classes. Definitely watch all videos and do all extra practice on D2L.

Hidalgo was amazing and super nice. Participate in class and do all the homework and extra credit and you will do fine. She responds to emails fast and host office hours and give us so many resources for help and is very lenient on a lot of assignments and quizzes. Amazing professor

If you need to take general chemistry at the University of Arizona, you need to have Hidalgo. I know so many people who switched to her class or made sure to have her. She is an incredible teacher and makes her lectures easy to digest.

I cannot overstate how incredible Dr. Hidalgo is. Easily the best 151/152 prof at UA. Incredibly helpful, understanding, accessible, and genuinely so caring. Is there for any level of success you wish to achieve and is so passionate. She has a huge learning team that is incredible. She made me love chemistry. Take Hidalgo if you want to succeed!

Dr. Hidalgo is awesome and I would suggest her to anyone. She actually made me understand chemistry, a subject I struggled with for years. I also had fun in her class. She's passionate about it and she is super nice and will answer any questions you have. An amazing professor for sure!

It is amazing to actually have a teacher that wants to teach and makes an effort to do so.

Dr. Hidalgo is really good at making sure her students have access to the material. She uploads the slideshow/presentation for the day, records each lecture, and posts them after class. There's also a class Discord, where you can talk to her, her TAs, and other students if you have any questions.

My best advice for her exams is to not procrastinate your cheat sheets because it'll make life easier. I have terrible test anxiety and what helped me was to watch all of her pre lecture and lecture videos the week of the type B exams, complete all of the extra credit, and then use every practice test from previous years. You got this!

Dr. Hidalgo is an amazing professor who genuinely cares about her students. Though the class can be challenging, she provides tons of resources like recordings, practice problems, and SI sessions to help you succeed. I found unstuckstudy ai really useful for prep too.

Prof. Hidalgo is one of those professors that isn't just knowledgeable in her field, but is also very good at the art of teaching. She is attentive in office hours and class, with an amazing team of TAs, and is willing to help any student understand the content.

If you are someone that learns from doing work instead of just listening and taking notes I would really reccomend her class. Her classes are 50% lecture, which are engaging, and 50% the students work on the problem. She also really cares about the students and is great professor. She gives a lot of test practice before tests in order to do well.

Great professor, overall explained things very well and had plenty of opportunities for practice and help. Office hours were always available and there are plenty of TA's that can help. If you don't come to the lectures you'll find the class very difficult but otherwise she explains things very well and works towards helping you understand.

She is an amazing professor. She tests fair. Attendance while being mandatory you should go to class anyways because she over explains everything. She wants you to succeed as her student. She has plenty of TA's that are there to help you. Use it and she has hw assignments and quizzes to help you study.

She is super good as a professor. She gives lot of extra credit problems and studying opprotunities, and I think that helped me a lot in her class. When I did the exam prep on Wednesdays, it significantly raised my test grades with the highest being a 98%. She is also patient and funny.

Class was difficult but that's just chemistry. She was very nice and she taught the class so clearly and helped students with anything they needed

Guys i literally could not recommend anyone more than Dr. Hidalgo, fall 24 i took chem 151 with perera and ended with a C. I thought chemistry was never gonna click for me, spring 25 I took chem 152 with Dr Hidalgo and she helped me understand chemistry and ended with an A. even got my first 100 on a type B Exam in her class

Dr. Hidalgo is a chemistry professor that I enjoyed a lot. There are so many resources to help you practice as well as extra credit practice problems, both of which are great preparation for the exams.

Had her for CHEM 152, the class was challenged me but if I had to have any prof for it, it would be Hidalgo! She was so caring, had a great learning team, and did a great job making such a big class feel small. Could not recommend her more.

I took Dr. Hidalgo for both Chem 151 and 152 and I have only positive things to say. She is an amazing teacher and her lectures are helpful and explanatory. Her class is very formatted and each week you can expect the same things. It is easy to get a hang of and the homework is extremely manageable. If you put in the effort you will succeed.

Dr Hidalgo is amazing! My advice: take every opportunity! There is opportunity for extra credit throw top hats (even if you don't do the extra credit just spam it before the exams), try to go to office hours, attend every possible SI session even if it's for practice! Course material is difficult, but with all the resources and help, manageable.

Hidalgo is one of the best professors at the UofA. She cares so much for her students and wants them to succeed. She answers questions well and lecture is easy. Lab is a bit more difficult because it shoves a lot of stuff in a small amount of time but still manageable

I took this class last Fall semester, and she is an amazing professor. Her lectures are very engaging and helpful to the point where you feel comfortable when you take an exam. All of the homework and extra credit is very easy. She really wants students to succeed and pass this class with As. I highly recommend taking Chem classes with her.

Professor was amazing. However the class is pretty hard if you don't study daily, although that's gonna be the same for every chem class. She was very organized and presented her lectures in an understanding manner. HW and quiz due once a week usually on sundays. Exams are pretty hard to do good on too

I really enjoyed CHEM151 with Hidalgo! While general chemistry isn't always the easiest class (because it tend to be a "weed out" course), Hidalgo provides immense resources during the semester. - Posts lecture videos after class - Practice problems - Optional pre-lecture videos - Office hours - Extra-credit (not worth a lot but super helpful)

Hidalgo offers lots of opportunities for help or extra credit throughout the semester. Her lectures are all recorded + posted and pretty easy to follow. The format of her lectures (with lots of example problems) also makes it easy to study on your own and identify what you're struggling with. She makes it clear how each unit relates to eachother.

Dr. Hidalgo is fantastic. Super nice and cares about every single student. As long as you go to lecture you should be perfectly fine for the exams. Pretty straightforward exams if you just study a bit before. If you go to her office hours you can pretty much say hello to 100% on the exams. Wish I can take her for Chem 152, but unfortunately can't.
